Dive into Shardlight

The world ended on the day the bombs fell. Since then, it’s always been like this: disease, hunger, death.

What’s left of the people scavenge for existence under the unfeeling gaze of the elegant, masked Aristocracy. Green Lung scourges the population, only briefly held at bay by the precious vaccine – and there’s never enough to go around.

Amy Wellard is a young mechanic drawn into the covert war between the forces of the Aristocracy and the mysterious, brutal rebel Danton. Can she play both sides – or will she be forced to choose? Is Danton right that the Aristocracy are hiding something important – and if so, what?

Find out what gamers are saying about Shardlight:

We have purchased almost every single game as it becomes available. Games like these are our favorite and the story line is never dull. Love it!

We used to play Sierra games Kings Quest as a kid/teen and the game play and look of Shardlight is very similar – brought back fun memories! Though it wasnt as difficult (and sometimes frustrating), involved, or world building as the old KQ games, it was still an addicting RPG and fun/dark story. No unicorns or annoying talking owls in this one Well worth the money!

Good plot, puzzles on easy side but time very well spent!

You cant do much better than this in the point-and-click genre. Wonderfully engaging, great music, and a satisfying story. Its the kind of game that you miss once its over. About 3-5 days of gameplay depending on your free time.

Techno Babylon is our favorite of their games, but this was a very close 2nd. Outstanding story line and character development. So much so we feel like this could have been a movie or tv series. We love point and click puzzle games, so if you do too, this is a must play.

Voices, graphics, adventure were all on point. This brought us back to the Sierra online titles of yesterday! One of our favorites.

Good puzzles, challenging but doable. Great voice acting, original post apocalyptic world – not same old same old. Really good game.

Excellent as always. We love how they created strong female characters.

WadjetEye really knows what theyre doing. An extremely well-crafted world with great characters, story, and puzzles. Im off to buy another title by them!

Playing this game in the age of Covid-19 is an experience that might not feel like much of an escape at first, but ultimately provides good catharsis. But for us, the games best moment was a little exploration of the distinction between curing a disease and managing it.

The most important part of a game to us is the story. We were hooked on the story from the beginning and it was exciting to uncover more and more of the story’s mystery. The gameplay is fun and the puzzles are challenging but doable. Great game.

A beautifully thought out and atmospheric adventure game.

Definitely one of the darker games we’ve played recently. Technobabylon is still our favorite (along with Whispers of a Machine), but we enjoyed it. As one reviewer pointed out, it definitely reminds you of the current COVID-19 situation, but also very much different. We enjoyed Amy Wellards story and the environment in which she is placed in. One of our complaints, although we wont take a star off, is that sometimes it felt like the Examine vs Touch an object was too similar or lazy writing. Sometimes theyre both the same. This is the first point and click we’ve felt this way with. Puzzles are easy (theres a somewhat difficult one near the beginning) and story is easy to understand. The voice acting is superb. Overall, an enjoyable game, but there isnt any special features besides point and click; youd know what Im talking about if youve played the above mentioned games.

Survivors in some kind of post apocalyptic world where people take dangerous jobs for the chance of getting access to vital medical treatment. The plot thickens… Totally engaging. Slightly mind-blowing. Keep them coming, Wadjet Eye!

Started with Gemini Rue. Every game since has been enjoyable. Shardlight has a good post apocalyptic theme and you really get swept up in the story. Loved it.

If youre an old school adventure gamer, what are u waiting for? Get the bundle! So much fun. If you remember Freddy Pharkus Frontier Pharmacist, you will love this game. Its Sierra Personified. Dont walk, run. Great fin story that unfortunately matches Covid19 and a dark novelist from 1981.

So worth the price! We bought because others said it reminded them of the old Sierra games. It definitely does! We had hours of fun. So well done. We loved it!

We were playing and it said there was a error and after we clicked ok the game closed on us please fix otherwise beautiful game.

It is retro looking but control was way better on Kings Quest games. It takes much too long to combine inventory or to use it. Its like touch controls are an after thought in this game. Dont waste your money.

The mechanics and voice acting and art is top notch! Our issue is the same of that of a lot of modern day point and click games. The character just seems bored like they dont want to be in the game and they are unwilling to even think about performing any actions that might be interesting. Just imagine some snobby pretty goody two shoes that doesnt like getting her hands dirty and thats the protagonist. In the game shes a mechanic, but you wouldnt know that playing her. Pepper in the ham fisted political propaganda of our current year and there you go. There is definitely a demographic for a game like this, and they obviously worked really hard at flushing out this world, the art is also amazing! Thats why its so disappointing these days to play the retro style adventure game only to be smacked with the vapid boring mindset of a modern-day mary sue protagonist. This game is supposed to be post apocalyptic yet everyone acts like they need to be polite to each other. Just imagine the apocalypse happened in the only ones that survived are the students at UC Berkeley and you pretty much have this game.

We just finished the sublime Technobabylon, and was excited to see another Wadjet offering. But this looks and plays as if Dave Gilbert’s mom forced him to publish a game by his little cousin. The storyline is very odd and internally inconsistent. Why and how would survivors of nuclear war adopt Williamsburg colonial dress? Why do all the cars look like they are from the 1930s? The puzzles are either incomprehensible or blatantly obvious. The first Wadjet game we were not instantly addicted to. We have to force myself to play it to get our $5 worth. Avoid.

This game is terrible you cant get anything done because if you look at videos you will note that their is a wooden file and you cant get it if you dont get it at the beginning of the game. You need this file. Anyways the other thing thats supposed to happen is this man Clem and hes supposed to talk to you about calligraphy witch doesnt happen. Dont waste your money on this game.

What’s not to like about this game. Loved the story and the puzzles. Highly recommended for point and click fans.

Fantastic story line. A classic masterpiece. Just like gemini rue and primordia.

As a fan of point and click adventures we love Wadjet eye games. As an aspiring writer we LOVE the storytelling even more. When so many titles could make great movies you know your doing something right. Keep up the Amazing work!

We have been anxiously waiting for this game to release and it’s finally here! We will update our review after playing for a while. Starting into the game now. Update: we just finished the game. Love the story and the puzzles. We like Gemini Rue more but both are great games. Once again, thank you for a great experience!

Have to say this game is good. Like most of the other games. The graphics are the same. Good story. Good for a typical point and click adventure.

Wadjet Eye does it again! Everything they touch turns golden era Point and Click Adventures to.. Well, gold! Beautiful pixel art, amazing story with depth and character development- making Sierra/Lucasarts fans melt with absolute perfection, capturing the good old days with modern playability like no other!

Classic Wadjet game, good storyline, appealing protagonist, clever challenges. Very enjoyable.

We are embarrassed to say that we finished this game within 24 hours of downloading it, and that’s saying a lot, because it’s a pretty meaty story with lots to do! All of the puzzles were interesting and organic, nothing was frustrating or kept us from moving forward. We’ve played every single one of Wadjet Games, and we realize that the strongest games have female protagonists – not sure why, but the characters seem to be more interesting than their stoic male counterparts (with exception to Russell Stone and Joey Malone). We’re very impressed! Dare we say that we wish the writer would incorporate a side romance story in future games for some levity? Think Guybrush and Elaine. Indiana Jones and Marion. And since we noticed the strong influence of Hunger Games on Shard Light, what about Katniss and Peeta / Gale? A love triangle would certainly make thinks interesting. ;-) Thank you for developing such compelling games. We are a forever fan!

This is a phenomenal game! Fantastic story, and one of the very best point and click adventure games. It’s long too, but we were still sad when it ended.

Point and click fun with great narration and pixel art! The backgrounds are georgeous. Font is nice and easy to read, which is rare for pixel fonts. (2cents idea:Maybe select even higher rest fonts in update? Even a ttf? Old eyeballs here. ) Game was well worth it. We might have to hit a puzzle walkthrough soon. Great fun, gorgeous work!

Wadjet Eye adventures are awesome. We’ve bought them all. We were hesitant to buy this one, yet another post-apocalyptic story. Yawn. We’re too early in the game to comment on how that’s going though. One problem we’ve had is the auto save system. It’s worked very well in previous games. Not with this one. When returning to the game, even after briefly switching to another app, it resets the app and often loses our place. We’re using the large-size iPad Pro so that seems odd. Anyone else have this problem?
