Dive into Sherlock ULTRA

Sherlock is a computerized version of logic puzzles, where you’re presented with a series of clues that help you determine the exact locations of all the images on the playing board. The puzzles are all 4×4, 5×5 or 6×6. Each row of the puzzle contains images of the same type (faces, houses, numbers, fruit, street signs, letters, etc). The game scrambles the locations of the items in each row (without showing you their locations) and then presents to you a set of graphical clues that describe the positional relationships of different images. You use the clues to deduce where things can’t be (and where they HAVE to be) until you know where all of the images are located. 2500 puzzles in each size for a total of 7500 puzzles! The puzzles in the Free, Pro, Ultra, and Zen versions of the game are all unique, the four versions of the game share NO common puzzles.

Find out what gamers are saying about Sherlock ULTRA:

We love being able to play this on our phone, since we grew up playing on our old computer. Its one of the few games/puzzles that actually holds our interest, because its actually somewhat of a challenge while still being fun.

Takes some thinking to solve the puzzles. We’ve ended up spending more time on this than just about any other mobile game. So very much worth the money – and we havent even started doing 6×6 puzzles yet! Please bring more of your wonderful puzzle games with old pc shareware gfx to Android/iOS, they are all truly a delight.

Its impossible to say how long we’ve been playing this game. We first played the game from a floppy disk on our computer in DOS! When the windows version came out, our dad made us a program so we could get back to DOS to run our original version. When we found the iOS version a few years ago we were so thrilled to see the original DOS art and design! This game is addictive in the best possible way. It is an awesome challenge for keeping the eyes and mind sharp. We’ve never found another puzzle we enjoy as much. We do crossword, cryptogram, sudoku and more and NONE can beat Sherlock. Thanks from the bottom of our heart to the developer of this game for giving us countless hours of fun over the (literal) decades!!

This is far and away the best app for the Einsteins Logic Puzzle. There are different sizes available and more than enough games to keep you busy for a long time.

Probably our favorite logic game. Never gets old. We started playing this game when it was a DOS game thats before Microsoft Windows for you young people. Works ok on iPhone for 4×4 and 5×5 games. The 6×6 games are a bit challenging for our eyes and fingers. We used our iPad for the bigger grid.

Love these games and the logic behind them. They never get too hard, and there’s always a hint available — just a hint! — if you just don’t see that one key move. Everett’s games always work perfectly on our iPads, and we enjoy the challenge of keeping our times down. We have to admit these games are a huge challenge for big fingers on an iPhone, but that’s not where we play it, so it’s a great brain-teaser for those moments whenI need to clear our head.

Have been playing this since ~1996, we never get tired of it! Can set options for youngsters to use. Make it as hard as you like. Also excellent puzzles by Evertt Kaser Honeycomb Hotel, William Walk.

The interface is pretty good and we’ve loved this game for years. Our only real complaint is that the game wants to crash once it gets to puzzle 676. This has happened twice after uninstalling and reinstalling.

We loved this game, but unfortunately it wont load anymore. It will close immediately if you choose either 4 x4 or 5×5. Though we always play 6×6, it will now crash when you want to move to another puzzle.

We’ve had this app for years, and love it. One problem: after playing maybe 100 or so puzzles it crashes and never lets you advance beyond the crashed puzzle number. The only fix is to delete and reinstall.

We love this game but we dont like shelling out money for games that crash and do not supply the actual amount of possible games. We’ve only played this a few times but there is no way we’ve gone through 1000 games.

Kept us entertained for… Let’s call it a few hours. Puzzle continues to throw you a curve ball every couple of puzzles so it never gets easy. Avg time is 3:20 for 6×6 puzzle which is probably ok for somebody our age. Fun to try and get that average down lower.

We’ve worked our way through the free and pro versions and now we’re happily trucking through the ultra version! Frankly been playing this since the DOS days. Still love the simple, yet challenging game play. Keeps our mind sharp and those brain cells working! Sherlock is one of only a handful of apps we have absolutely no qualms about purchasing! With 7500 puzzles it’s worth every single penny!

Who needs a subscription to those brain game websites? This classic game is sudoku on steroids. Brings back memories of when we played this on Dos when we were a teenager. Thank you Everett Kaser for getting this preserved for a whole new generation.

We have played 3 or more games of Sherlock everyday for years. Great way to keep the mind sharp! Thank you again Everett!!

We play this game everyday… For hours. It’s a lot of fun but it crashes on us a lot. Once we play 70 or 80 games, we can no longer open the app and we have to delete it and download it again. We’ve done this 5 times, or about once every 2 or 3 weeks. Otherwise, this game is awesome! We used to play in the days of 800 megabyte hard drives. It’s nice because we don’t need to be online to play..

After playing six games in the 6×6, we find we have to BUY more games! Not cool…..

We purchased the app, but it will not download. Do not buy this app.

We’ve been playing this since the late ’90s on our old PC and have been delighted to find ports to iPhone and Droid. Still enjoying it, and it makes a great phone app. Also recommend Honeycomb Hotel by the same developer.

We think we’ve had this game for a couple of years now and it’s open more than any other app on our ipad. It’s not fancy, it’s just a good brain teaser game that you can play thousands of times.

We are an attorney and have been playing this game for five years. It always seems to get our brain firing on all cylinders when we need it to.

The older DOS and home computer games were some of the best ever made. Sherlock is one of those games, and it proves that a great game doesn’t need whiz-bang graphics and other bells and whistles. Sherlock is challenging, but not overly so. It strikes a perfect balance between difficulty and playability, and every puzzle is lots of fun — and in our opinion this game is worth every penny.

Delighted to be able to buy this app for our iPad! Have loved Sherlock for years on our laptop, and so glad to have it as an app! Please offer more of your games as soon as you can, Everett.

An old friend turned us onto this puzzle game years ago. We tried the iPhone version when we saw it available, but this isnt a game well suited for such a small screen. And now that we see its available for iPad, well we just couldnt pass on it!

Our kids and we played this years ago on our Commodore 64 and then again on the pc. This is so good on the iPad! Now we’ve get to get our kids to bring their iPads over for a tournament. Anyone who takes the time to understand how it works will love this game. If someone says, "Oh, we don’t get it." they will never use it.

To find one of our favorite logic games for the PC now available on iOS! Superb game. A bit like "logic grid" games but faster and more fun.

We’ve played this game from when it ran on MS-DOS. It’s great to play it on our iPad wherever we may be. The touch interface suits the game well.

Play this for years on our computer. So very tickled to see this on iOS ! Worth every penny great game to keep your mind sharp and challenge. Taught our young daughter too on this for deductive reasoning. Now she is a great problem solver as a grown up. Please produce Moriarty too on iOS ! Love this!

Finished all 2500; please make more!! PLEASE! PLEASE!! Game is so awesome.

We love Sherlock! This is an excellent logic puzzle. But we are sometimes frustrated by a flaw in the software. This doesn’t happen very often, but sometimes the game doesn’t display all of the clues. When this situation is encountered and you restart that puzzle, then most of the time it displays the missing clue. If the developers need them, we have screen shots of one such puzzle with and without all of the clues.

This great app needs updating to be compatible with iOS 8. ALWAYS freezes when trying to play the next puzzle, and OFTEN freezes if you select a wrong choice.

Sherlock is one of the all time great logic games and this is probably the best incarnation yet. There’s an issue with the interface which keeps this app from being absolutely perfect. Choices are entered with either a touch (to remove an option) or a hold (to confirm an option,) but the game frequently mistakes a touch for a hold. Not only is this distracting, it also adds time and counts as a mistake in the game statistics. Otherwise, Sherlock Ultra amazing.
