GAME MODES FOR EVERYONE

- Deathmatch – always a favourite, it’s every ShockRodder for themselves as you battle to get the target kill count first!
- Team Deathmatch – like Deathmatch, but with some friendlies on your side who will help you reach that target tally of destruction.
- Capture the Flag – another team-based game; head across the map to grab the other team’s flag from their base and get it back to your base. But watch out – the other team is trying to do the same thing!
- ShockBall – like some sort of team based over-sized basketball game but with a giant metal ball and masses of explosions!

ShockRods has a variety of imaginative locations for the ShockRodder to leap and shoot around: From the snowy perils of a precipitous abandoned mine, to the futuristic ball arena, taking in the pleasant vistas from atop the grassy summit of a summer mountain top, to the stomach-flipping drops around the dam and the mysterious malfunctioning reactor core with its pit of lava.
GUNS AND GAGS
There’s an armoury-load of guns and some crazy pickups that a ShockRodder can use to ruin his opponent’s day; from the chaingun to the grenade launcher, railgun to rocket launcher. Or use a special pickup on them, and give everyone a giggle; shoot them with the balloon gun and watch as they get dangled in space off the end of it, or encase them in an ice cube and slide them over a cliff! Hi Developer, we really like this game, very fun to play. Smooth and good handling. However , there is less and less player now, hard to find a player we multiple player mode now. We think it is mainly due to some connection issue before. To regain the interest, we think we need a big update, add different type of vehicles, weapons whatever big! We really like this game, hope the developer dont give up and continuously support this game! Looking forward for an update.

As someone who has a hard time finding something reliable to play on our phone, this game sees to making sure that its not an issue. It works great with a DualShock 4 Controller, & runs pretty great, with many aspects from the Unreal Tournament Series. And as a fan of the 1999 GOTY Edition of UT, we find this game even more enjoyable. However, Im realizing now that there are a few things that could be added; perhaps more modes, like Prop Hunt would be a good pick. And since theres nothing you can do with the in-game currency after you buy all the car models & decals, there should be more added into that area as well. Not things like car or weapon upgrades cause that could screw up the gameplay big time. So perhaps add in more customization for the car models with options that could be bought with the earned currency? Like various fins or wings, or other options like that. All-in-all its a greatly made game, but it could do with a few additions to increase the lifespan of the individual users gameplay experience.
Please add a lot more guns and can you make it so you can change the guns in the garage, not in a game. Thanks!
OK we’ve been trying to fix this for so long even we get home we mainly just try several times to get this fixed and this Internet connection wont even work try to play and we still have to play off-line all the time we cant even play any one on the Internet we cant even play please fix it please.
We’ve been unable to play 1v1 with our son. Both of us have gamecenter accounts. We can see him to invite him, but upon him accepting the game just hangs saying matchmaking indefinitely. This despite restarts, reinstalls, turning gamecenter off and on, etc. We both have new iPhone 12 Pro Max phones. What gives?? This is basically the purpose of the game :-(
Multi-player (i.e. Start Party) doesnt work anymore. It never finds a match when you invite your friends. We use to play every weekend now no matter what we do it doesnt work. Please roll back the update. This was an awesome game, our favorite!!! Please fix.
We’ve been a fan of arena shooters since we were a kid (Back in the Twisted Metal and Vigilante 8 days.) This game definitely brings back the joy of playing those games. So far Im enjoying everything about it. We really like the customization element and all of the detail that was put into it. It reminds us a lot of the old Armored Core games where you could customize your mechs. Im giving the game 5 stars because we really enjoy it but we do have one suggestion. It would be cool if we could communicate with other players so we know whos ai and who isnt. We wish more people would play this. If this were a console or PC game we would totally purchase it.
This is one of our favorite Apple Arcade games. Part of that might be that it reminds us of one of our favorite games from our childhood, Vigilante 8. The upside with this game is that you have much better control of your vehicle than you did in Vigilante 8. The major downside is that this game not only struggles with frame rate, but has fairly consistent stutter. We’ve played this game on an iPad Air 2, a MacBook, and an iPhone X. It stutters on all of those devices. None of those are brand new and we understand that there are limitations because of the low CPU speed of all of those devices, but we looked up videos of the same game being played on a gaming PC and it stuttered in every PC gameplay video as well. So we think that theres some work that could be done to smooth the FPS out. And personally we probably would have made the choice to have rendered simpler geometry at a higher resolution as opposed to the choice that was made with this game, which is realism combined with a lower resolution, but we understand thats not this particular developers vision. Still a great game though, definitely give it a shot. Edit: we’ve since seen PC game play that is higher quality and it didnt seem to exhibit the same stutters we mentioned before. So it is probably just a CPU limitation that causes the lack of smoothness. We’ve also gotten an iPad Pro (2020) since we originally did this review and even though the image is cleaned up quite a bit on the Pro, its definitely not even close to native resolution still and its nowhere close to 60 FPS either, for those of you who are wondering. Having seen the PC gameplay, we can see that considerable downgrades were already done in order to port this game to iOS, so we understand that you can only do so much to get a game running smoother and preserving battery life on a mobile device. That being said, we love this concept for a game and it would be really cool to see a game like this that is built from the ground up for iOS and Android in a way that at least makes 60 FPS gameplay possible.
This is overall is a great game but for us it is IMPOSSIBLE to find an online game so Im forced to play with bots in which we win every time, please fix that or just find a few people and fill the rest in in with bots. Also the graphics are a little… There low quality graphics and it would be nice if u could upgrade them. Also we ALWAYS play this on controller and Id like there to be a first person mode, so add Forzas first person views combined with the game that would make us play it non stop, also can u please make it so that its available on Mac. Thank you for such a great game.

Great game, we enjoy playing against the bots very much to learn the controls but have had a problem finding online players. We wonder if this has to do with it being on Arcade? We suppose for now Ill have to rely on party mode to have real world players to compete with. Obviously the Matxhmaking feature is broken, very disappointed that theres nobody to play online against but also not surprised. We just discovered this game in Arcade and thought it was new but reading the reviews and checking the developer release schedule it appears its been around for about a year now. We cant believe there arent any players online to link up with for battles! Only 3 stars until we can actually compete online against real players.
The game is really fun to play, and we mean it, but the fps is extremely low, making it hard to shoot other players. Its made even worse by the fact that the game is fast paced, so the game really needs to he optimized. Another thing is the lack of players online. We were playing on the online setting, but most of the time youre just playing with other bots, with an occasional player. The game really has potential.
We cannot load into this app because every time it crashes. We dont know if this is our end or yours but Im on a SE2. Anyway it looks like a really fun game and we hope that this all gets worked out so we can try it. PS. Im pretty sure its our end but we figured Id let you know just in case.

Overall this is a good game but please let players pick a gun to use throughout the game not with all these random guns around.

Very similar to other games out there, but can still be a challenge and fun. After getting through the tutorial we wanted to play with friends, the invite to play doesnt work.

Another dev adding skins to an existing game frame work trying to take advantage of the Apple Arcade subscribers. The cars move sideways… This is such a blatant purposeless re-skin. They reset their reviews too.
This wont work on the iphone se second generation. It crashes on start Still wont work. Still crashes 2 months later and still no support for iPhone SE second gen users. Let alone any response from the devs.
We have been playing it nonstop we love the concept of the game!
So, we have been playing the game for a long time, and also the 2nd best player we have ever seen in this game. We think the new update is absolutely amazing. We love the complexity of the Stormdrain map, the new hulls are amazing, and the lobby redesign looks great. However, we do have a few complaints: first, in GR, there are 12 players. This itself isnt a problem, but the A.I. Just makes a giant death ball around the bot or player with the ram. So whenever myself or someone else gets the ram, they die in about 15 seconds. Combine this with the fact sometimes the machine gun doesnt make contact noise, and it is really annoying. Second: can you please make it so you group all the real players in the same server? It would make it more fun if that was the case. And finally, we would really like it if party members stay on the same team in TDM and capture the flag. Dont get us wrong, the party feature is amazing, and a necessary addition, but this just annoys us. We are not trying to say this game is not fun, it is absolutely amazing, with a sky-high skill ceiling and a unique game mode, but it isnt perfect. Sincerely, Vega Junction.
We really like this game. It is so fun the offline mode and online mode is amazing. Didnt try Shockball yet but we will let you know how we like that match. So far Deathmatch is fun we really enjoy that the most and the graphics are spot on. Well done.
This is a fun shooting game with quite some major drawbacks. On the overall gameplay-wise, it is fast pace, fun to shoot, variety of weapons to choose from and enough maps with different environment. With great graphics, we can say its a quite decent game. But therere also some major drawbacks which provides negative experience. First is the low FPS. We are playing this game on the latest iPad Pro which can run Fortnite in 120 FPS, but in this game, we can tell its not stable at 60 FPS during the battle. Second is the weapon picking up. When you drive near a weapon, it will automatically equips on us, but theres no visual feedbacks, so we cant really tell if we really has it not. Another annoying feature is the newly picked up weapon will be automatically set active, no matter which one we are currently using. The last drawback is the tutorial, it teaches the basic of the game, but missing some other important ones, such as jumping, boosting and most importantly, switching weapon. We found all those features in the later stage of the game. Maybe this issue is related to the Xbox controller players, since if youre playing with touch control, you will see those virtual buttons right away.
So the controls are way to small we cant shoot and adjust at the same time the graphics are one of the worst in Apple Arcade so we REALLY wish the buttons were larger that is the main part and reason why Im no going to play this game.

Our brother recommended this game to us on arcade. At first we thought it was dumb. We WAS WRONG. This game is one of our favorite games on arcade. Extremely fun and addicting.
We do not understand how to get the currency but other than that its awsome.
So there are many things we love about this game. We highly recommend everyone try it! We also have a few things we would like to see changed: 1. We dont think our kill counter is working in leaderboards! 2. We wish there was a scoped gun. 3. Gyroscopic aim is a must in mobile gaming! It separates us from pc & console. To clarify, at first the game was working great and was loads of fun but now it just stays on the title screen and we are unable to actually play the game.
Great game. Im playing it way too much. Downgraded a star since the update lowered the AI difficulty. We realize some people wanted an easier experience, but we miss the old bots. Its like shooting fish in a barrel, now. We love the additional tips youve provided. We’ve really upped our scores in the different game modes.
Id like to start positive… Your Controller support is amazing! Navigating Menus, Shooting and Movement feels great on a Controller, and it seems like Mobile is really hard to play as the alternative. The Settings are very nice, and the Multiplayer was a cool addition. The Graphics are a little poor in our opinon, but for a mobile game, thats ok, we cant compare this to 3 GB games like Hot Lava. It just looks so strange when you move sideways. Multiplayer would be SO much better if Bots werent involved UNLESS there were less than 4 players in a room. This game should really have support for Private Rooms… Gameplay is a little annoying and personally we feel could use some adjustments… 1: More rewarding effects for dealing damage. 2: An Optional, Over the Crosshair Indication of your Health Meter. There are several other things that really stop us from playing the game, that are kinda part of the Core Game. Sorry, but not really digging this game personally… :/
We want to start off by saying that this is an extremely welcome addition to Apple Arcade, providing an online PVP game that has a lot to offer, and with a lot of heart put into the game design, that being said it still has a long way to go. The controls are unnatural and difficult to master. Why are the vehicles able to move directly sideways? This is illogical and is the first step of breaking down the physics of the game. There is also no way to speed up, and traction or terrain serves no role whatsoever. The controls feel more like you are playing an FPS with superman than driving a car. We highly recommend the developers check out the controls for Crash Drive 2, as that game hit the vehicle mechanics this game seems to be going for on the nose! Additionally the gameplay is confusing because of a lack of information, what weapon do we currently have? What does it do? How many times can we shoot it before its gone? No idea. The UI gives no indication whatsoever, nor does the game explain or attempt to teach what any of the items you pick up do or are, its super confusing. If the game can get a handle on vehicle controls, and provide visual information to the player for whats happening we think this game could be a total home run. Keeping it installed with the strong hope that this issues are addressed. Im a fan, we just think this game should have stayed in beta a little longer.
We really liked the game but recently every time we try to play the game it will not load and we cant play it at all so we might have to delete it.
This game is super fun. Its like Quake Arena for Rocket League fans who want more car-nage and less sportsball. Highly recommended.

Its a fun game. The controls need a little bit of work, as it seems like the touch controls are either at 0 or 100. It reminds us of twisted metal.
