Community Insight:

We have enjoyed playing this game, It is unique with interesting characters and unique style. It offers just enough distraction to be entertaining but can easily be put down when attention is required in real life. Its quite a challenge and fun to play. All together its a pretty good game that Ill probably keep playing for a while. Thanks.

Very entertaining, us and our brother just spent an hour playing this game and we have to say this is one of the best card game on the store for now.

The game is unique with interesting characters and the developers very own unique style and spin to 'card' gaming. It's quite a challenge and fun to play.

This game is very confusing when starting. Must read the direction thoroughly to be able to understand. The more you play the more charismatic. This is a great game for those who like battle games. We want to finish all the levels of the game. It challenged us.

We downloaded but in the first 15 minutes of playing we spent more time watching ads than we did playing the game. Im deleting. At least give players a chance to know whether or not they enjoy the game before bombarding them with ads.

Doesnt auto-size to the iPhone 10. Cant read all the text or hit the accept button.

We played this game for about 20 seconds before an ad came up that had a chubby lady with her breasts hanging out. Thats all we need to know about the game.

We love the strategy in this game.

We like it, it's fast and we hope u enjoy it like we do.

Got this game a few days ago and just finished it. Some of the complaints in the other reviews are valid, such as the bs starting health reduction after every fight, the annoying ads that pop up sometimes between screens, and the weak storyline. Other complaints, however, are simply unfounded: this game is not at all "p2w" – we never bought any IAP's, and, quite frankly, we did not at any point feel compelled to make purchases to progress. The game is also not "too difficult" or "unfair", although it might seem that way sometimes (that golden sphinx fight, oh our god…). Every seemingly insurmountable encounter has at least one winning strategy, and finally finding that strategy after much planning and experimenting is one of the most rewarding experiences this game offers. On top of that, this game features great artwork, an innovative real time card battle system, great card variety, and an in-depth, surprisingly balanced roster of card effects (armor, healing-over-time, stun, etc.). These features far outweigh the bugs and other negative aspects of the game, at least in our mind. We're sitting here after an intense boss fight in the void, and not only did the game crash during the final cutscene, but we are now unable to manage the equipment of our tavern-hired heroes. You know what, though? We ain't even mad. That's how good this game is. Tip #1: Don't bloat your character decks with useless cards. In many (if not most) cases, one card per deck is enough. Tip #2: Buy Aegolius with your starting gems. Just trust us. Tip #3: Yes, you can revive your characters with gems, but doing so will rarely lead to victory. Just save your gems, retreat gracefully, and head back to the drawing board. Tip #4: Pay attention to new enemy card effects and cast times. This can really help you plan your strategy if you don't beat the level the first time. Tip #5: Coins are scarce, so only research the cards you need, such as one that gives you a volley stun.

It's an amazing game!! We recommend it for all.

Love the combat system! It's a nice change.

Soulspark is the first game from Copenhagen Creators that shows… Well soul. That's not to say that CC isn't any good, but the developers are still growing. Soulspark appears to be the first time they shed he chains of common trends and made a game that's beautiful on it's own. Here's why: playing Soulspark the first thing we noticed was the art (heck, even before we began playing.) It has he story book quality similar to Darkest Dungeon that really speaks to the card-play and shows more polish than CC has displayed before. Further than just that aesthetic though, we quickly found Soulspark to be the most hardcore gaming experience we've had on mobile phones. The combat system is real time and utilizes 3 decks you create individually. There's interactivity with dispelling effects, debuffs, and buffs, as well as trying to interrupt the longer, more devastating cards. You manage three potential action slots, six targets, three decks, and he whole thing is hectic as hell, more than we've come to expect it of a card game. It is glorious. Copenhagen Creators' design decisions pay off in spades in one of he most intense, as well as intrinsically and extrinsically strategic games we've found on mobile phones. It compares to an RTS in which you make split decisions, have high actions per minute, and have a clear early, mid, and endgame planed. It's intense and we couldn't love that more. You develop decks with cards unique to characters and cards you acquire through random drops. This is a bit genius because the cards need not be balanced against each other, it even feels good to discover you've outmoded your old gear. There's a strong sensation of growth throughout the game through new cards and characters, as well as grasping a better understanding of your characters' greatest role. The characters aren't quite unique. The art couldn't be better and there are some interesting concepts utilized there, but the writing provides nothing new. It's your standard adventure story with all of the same tropes. The heavy use of animal-human races was endearing to say the least and definitely brought a charm we miss in other games. The most characterization went into NPCs which was moderate and interesting at points, but certainly didn't drive us to play. We wish we felt a better connection to our characters. Now here's the big thing that makes or brakes all mobile games: monetization. Soulspark is Free to Play with in-game transactions; some have likened it to free to try. It is free. We beat the game in three days without spending a cent. Spending money will not give you a big edge because the most integral characters are free. Additionally the game is generous with it's premium currency, gems, and we were able to afford one premium character, earning our way to the second. We still feel that we could earn the others as we continue playing. Our biggest gripe is that the gold income is certainly not enough to develop your card pool or even to unlock all of your class cards for one or two classes, never mind your whole party. That's frustrating and we feel like we're missing out on who our characters really are because income is so slow on that front. The character we bought, Aegolius, was integral to our combo that won us the majority of the game. If you don't buy him, it may be frustrating to win. You will not win this game just by paying though. It requires skill, tactics, and strategy. You have to be both quick on your feet and clever in the war room to beat this game and we adore that. It something mobile developers are often afraid to do or unable to do these days. Kudos to CC. This game is Free to Play. You will not get to experience everything. You will still have fun if what you're searching for is a hardcore single player strategy card game. We would recommend it to any strategic console or PC gamer and have started doing so with our friends. It is worth your time. This game shows promise in a previously off the grid developer and we should support that. Currently the ending is slightly bugged but it won't stop you from completing it. You will not be able to edit your premium character decks after however so be aware. Additionally, during the end, the big bad mentions the Arena, a feature which has no signs anywhere else in the game. Strange that a feature would be mentioned like that while still in development, with not notice anywhere. Hopefully it's still coming. We can't get enough Soulspark. It has some replay in the beautifully crafted encounters already present and in trying to develop our class cards. Soulspark gets a 5/5 stars. Download it, play it, wonder, struggle, rethink, and win. It's 100% worth your time and will be one of the overlooked mobile gems of 2015.

No complaints yet… Artwork is amazing tho.

A nice little progression of strategy and story :).

Nice artwork and gameplay style.

Dreadfully slow. The combat tutorial is lame. Dont believe the hype.

Great game so far, we'll see how it plays without purchasing.

We have enjoyed this game….though we have only played it for a little while, it seems like it will be a lot of fun in the long run.

Pretty fun so far. Battle system quite dynamic and requires some thought.

This game is great! It reminds us of a TCG and an MMORPG mix. Lots of fun and challenging.

So far so good very interesting gameplay.

This is a very beautiful game. It's real time action where you have to pay attention. You get heroes and easily earn gold. You need the gold to learn you skills. They also let you earn gems which is the main currency to buy elite things which is great. The little adds that pop up are annoying but they are not timed or hard to close like some. Over all this game is fun to play and has very nice drawing to look at.

This game is beautiful and fun to play.

Excellent mechanics and engaging gameplay. The free to play aspects are a touch annoying though. It drip feeds gold too slowly. Id rather pay upfront to earn more gold consistently than constantly feel like we should pay another dollar.

We've been waiting for months for this game to cross the Atlantic. Now that it's finally here it's everything we hoped it would be! The artwork is gorgeous of course, being provided all by one artist (Steve Prescott, of Magic the Gathering fame). The play surprised us it's like real-time Hearthstone. Really quick and flavorful.

Look, we're going to be honest here, we were the illustrator for this game so we're pretty biased here. However, not being a huge gamer at heart, even we think this game is extremely fun. We know a lot of dang work went into this game and we're pretty proud of it. It looks fantastic and plays fantastic and everyone should at least give if a try. Also, it's very kid friendly.

Just downloaded! Beautifully executed and fun to play. Love the hand-drawn/painted quality of the graphics. Gives it a more tactile feel. Like a traditional card game. Can't wait to explore it more.

The delay is what makes this game challenging. Also managing gold for opening skills is what will definitely frustrate people. Overall, we see lots of potential here. P.s. We would like it if the ads didn't pop out every time you rested. There are f2p games that don't have ads.

Cool game with interesting story and characters… Great for those who like card based battle games… Seems like it will get expensive pretty fast though… We hope it's at least somewhat playable without buying gems, because we don't plan on spending on more than a couple of games at a time, and those spots are already taken.

This card battle game is fun, it has gorgeous artwork by a well known fantasy game Illustrator (read his review), and there's a good strategy component like all these games have. We've downloaded and played too many of these types of games, and this succeeds on levels, where others fail, not the least of which is the vertical format that lets you actually see the card designs, game icons, map etc. The battle system works well, the storyline is ok and good humored, and it's kid friendly, if that's a concern. It also doesn't take itself too seriously. Others have complained about the ads you see after a battle. This is not a problem for us as we hit the "X" and they disappear. Others perhaps haven't noticed the "X". . Having said all that, we agreed with one online review that we read that called the game "Free-to-try", not F2P. We've played quite a bit, did some grinding, and made it to Direwood, Royal Blood sequence where we hit the wall….hard. You have to have gems to recruit better Heroes, and you've got to buy them ($$$) to get them. You can grind until the cows come home, but that's not going to work, as there is a very low gem payout. In-game gold gets you some things, but not Heroes apparently. We'd much rather pay $10 for the game and play forever, and buy reasonably priced updates than get chained to F2P (like a lot of players). Game studios need to make money, that's cool – but playing a mobile game is now like playing golf. Want to play? Pay up….every time. Mobile games should be like board games. Buy it, then play it until the end of your days. Also, we hate being chained to some game server. That means you have to be on the internet, preferably wifi.

The deck construction is simple but challenging to master, and we're enjoying our experience so far.

Good game but one annoying bug in that when we tap a hero to see its info, we can't close that window, so we can't do anything after that.

To many apps it's annoying but we've seen a lot worse.

This game is a fun distraction but we do find the real time battles confusing. You don't seem to have much time for planing strategy.

Overall, we really enjoy this game so far and all the great artwork and details put into it. Occasionally will stop loading and we'll be forced to reload, but other than that, no bugs that we've seen.

We're sure the IAP will get irritating but fun, pretty and engaging for now.

Nuanced and enjoyable. Pop ups are annoying.

Ok card game. Not hard to play.

Just wish it didn't freeze. We give it a 97% overall.

If the developers want to take this title to the next level then they're going to need to pony up some improvements. Especially if they expect gamers to pay $3.99 to remove ads! 1) PVP – this is logically the next step to us. 2) Leveling/Evolving Heroes – let us sacrifice those monsters for something. 3) Guilds – give us a team. 4) Chat – who else is playing? 5) Card trading – just a thought that really no other ccg has. 6) Achievements – just to give us something to work for. That 30th rat killed? Yeah it'd be nice to get a few gold for that.

Took off one star due to the spamming of ads but apart from that it's one great game.

Enjoying ourselves so far, but only a few missions in.

We played this game for a few hours and the pop-up ads ARE annoying enough to get us to stop playing. Now, if we pay $3.99 for this magical shield, the pop-up ads will disappear. Do we want to spend $4 to avoid pop-ups or do we just want to delete the game??? Hmmm.

This could be a pretty fun game and there is some innovation for the ccg norm, BUT…beware….these guys are super greedy, you will see for yourself. The monetization is crazy expensive…..we laughed when we looked at the packages….seriously devs….get real. Also, we haven't seen a stamina system this horrible EVER…after the FIRST battle our heroes are already weakened and they want us to use the real money currency to "heal" them….its absolutely ridiculous. Devs….make some reasonable changes to monetization and the recharge/heal heroes system and we bet you would actually make some money….the current way things are people are going to just laugh and not play your game.

Gorgeous game with room to grow on the mechanics side. We stand by the artist and design team so we support it as it becomes the Tiamat of app games, thereby assuring us an elevated place in the burnt out she'll that was once our village.

Not enough content. Game gets grindy very early. Boring. We like the art style and mechanics though. Has potential.

The hero health shown in the equipment screen doesn't match the hero health when you enter battle. Nothing worse than trying to manage your team and then dying when you enter battle because of incorrect information.

We were able to finish all available levels, without purchasing any add ones. This game is fairly glitchy throughout. Ads would sometimes unpredictably pop up, prompting inadvertent activation of the ad, but not too overwhelming – probably acceptable for a free app. Oftentimes would require restarting app because of glitches while equipping cards, and seldomly during gameplay (although this occurred several times during gameplay). Gameplay progression seemed a little uneven (got stuck for sometime on middle boss sword lady), whereas later bosses less problematic. After finishing, acquired mercenaries lost all equipment options (glitch). Like the art, gameplay generally, but still needs a lot of work on glitches throughout the game.

Awesome game so far, we are really enjoying it but it keeps freezing up. Needs fixed……new update the game is still freezing up and is making the current level we are on unpassible, every time we get close now IT FREEZES UP.
