Great retro game. But this needs to be played with a controller as well.
Captures the feel of the arcade including great graphics and a BOSS Title cart.
Massive lag and no turbo fire on the IPhone XS Max. We guess the iPhone isnt powerful enough to emulate the game. Rofl.

This game was awesome, reminds us of the arcade game from back then! But since we had updated our phone the game started slowing down on iOS 11 compared to iOS 10 and this wasnt the only game either affected by it. Giving it 5 stars because its a cool game and hope more retro titles (streets of rage, toejam and earl, etc.) comes to mobile.
All of the SF releases have been great. We are looking forward to seeing 32 and 128 bit generation releases! Looking forward to the entire Virtua (model 1, 2 and 3) series games, whether arcade, Saturn or Dreamcast conversion. Thank you, SEGA.
We love this game, but we think it would be totally awesome if it supported Apple TV. We would buy most of the Sega Forever games if the were on Apple TV.
This game was a sucker launch game for the Genesis. You got excited cause the original arcade was great with a rock solid port on the Sega Master System. New system, new Space Harrier? Of course we’ll buy it. All the bad controls and poor frame rate are part of the original not the port. How’s about a remake? Or even a reboot?
Why do we have to restore our purchase every time we play this game? We didnt have to do it before this Sega Forever thing started. As for the actual game-its great, being Space Harrier and all.
Please continue to put out the classics. PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE.

Horrible play control! Not worth the time to download.
Music crackles and skips. Framerate is terrible and the game stutters and slows down every few seconds. We’re a huge fan of the original Sega Genesis game and this doesn’t even come close to feeling like the original. Even our 2010 version on iPod Touch plays better than this, and we’re using a 2017 iPad. Hope one day they use a better emulator for these games because this one has to be the worst so far.

Hey SEGA do us a favor. Make these genesis games for ipad, full screen and running smooth, and also… … You really ought to just have a SEGA GENESIS standalone app and all the genesis games should be add on purchases. You could spruce it up too with some cool animations of someone putting the cart in an animation genesis console on screen…… Plus you could also make a fun item store. People could also download what model genesis they want to see on screen, like the original, or 2 model, or majesco’s genesis 3, or the nomad. Or Japanese models. Please sega. Make a Genesis app like this…. It’s a killer good idea.
Won’t feel like playing your genesis or game gear. Avatar’s movement isn’t smooth – moves in discrete units almost like an old LCD handheld game. Music playback seems garbled, but we never played space harrier ii, so we don’t know. Not as stylish as space harrier I. You’ll be dissatisfied with the controls.
First off, yes, guys… This game does need ios6 support. It played perfectly before then, as did all of the Sega classics. Luckily, Sega started updating them and only a few more need done. 5 stars because its a great Sega Genesis game (not the arcade original). We can understand people leaving bad reviews. But, it’s obvious Sega is aware of the problem and working to solve it. Sega has always been an amazing company and some of the most fun games on the App Store are as a result of them. Not a fanboy, just hoping they do add iOS6 support, and giving them praise along the way:).

We played this game as a kid and handled business. Had to have this game. We still handle. Best game ever.
We love Space Harrier, so we find a lot to love in this game. However, the virtual D-pad simply isn’t adequate. Still, it’s a fun game and certainly a good buy at 99 cents.
Like other Genesis to iPhone ports, this is spot on. Someone else commented that they’re running the original ROM inside an emulator, and we believe it. Everything is exactly how we remember it, right down to the wonderfully lo-fi sound effects ("AAAAaaaaaAhhhhh…. GetReady!"). For the guy who was complaining that there’s no autofire, there is! Just press the virtual "A" button at the title screen instead of the Start button. All the original options are in there, including Sound Test which lets you hear all the great music used in the game!
We were a bit skepticle when we first opened the app. It looked pretty cheap and generic with the menus. However when we started the game it was the same space harrier you know and love. Just wish it was the arcade version though.
We haven’t gotten to play it yet, cause it crashes every time. But 3d world runner for Nintendo used to be one of our favs. This seems to model that. Can’t wait to play.

IOS 6 iPhone 4S would love to play this, we remember playing it at the movie theater as a kid, even then it was a little dated but we were amazed by it. Amazing game.

This is great! We’ve been wanting to play our old master games and this more than what we expected. You guys got to put transbot on here! It would be cool if other game developers could get in with you guys, would love to see Wonderboy and Time Soldiers on here.

We owned the Sega Genesis for many years back then, and it was the only game system we had played until the release of the next generation of consoles. Some of the greatest games we have ever played were from those days. We played this game many, many times. Brings back some good memories. Good price tag on top of it. We are hoping for the RPG "Shining in the Darkness" so we may once again kill many hours playing the game.
