We love this game. The only thing we would like to see in the future is probably more levels thank you for the game.

We dont even know where to start! This game is just so awesome! It can get a bit frustrating, but the balance between fun and challenging is what either makes or breaks a game! In order to make a good game, its got to be easy to play and yet difficult to master. This game shows both qualities! Awesome game, and keep making great games.

The game is not for everyone but it has a minimalistic and retro art style that we really like. The game play is super fast and requires some memorization and a lot of reflex. Im on level 13 so far and Im loving it. Plus the weapons and armors are great.

This is a must download it has so much charm for a mobile game and is very challenging in the later stages its starts off pretty easy but works up we would definitely recommend buying the no ads as there is quite a lot.

You just hate the game because its hard just appreciate the work and time the people put into this!! Dont be a hater just think about all the good thing in this game! Instead of thinking about all the bad things!! If the game is hard because of the timer then thats good because if its hard then it will take time to beat and no one wants a 5-30 minute game! If you want to beat an easy game then you wont feel proud you might feel proud because you beat a game but the game was easy! If the game is easy then it wont be that cool!! In conclusion appreciate all the time and work and time and just know that these people put their work and time into this just so you could hate on it!! Sprint RPG is a good game.

At first, the game can be very frustrating and make you want to quit because it is hard to judge the distance to an enemy or object. However, if you get used to that and understand the mechanics of the game it is very entertaining. We would recommend this game, as long you have enough patience to play it as its meant to be played. We do have one suggestion, when you encounter a new enemy, it is sometimes hard to learn the combo to defeat that certain enemy. Currently, if you fail the level, the correct sequence is not put into the journal thingy. We suggest that it is put into the journal thingy when you encounter that enemy.

Id down star for lack of depth perception that can occur once the game adds on larger scales enemies. When this happens it creates the appearance that smaller sized enemies seem farther away (and you end up bumping into them instead attacking them when they should be) we said that we would, but after a while of playing the game we just got used to it. It took a while but it didnt feel painstakingly long. Also, theres this little monster grumble that the enemy makes when its time for you to attack them (with the exception of the mimic chest and the cobweb/spider) and listening for that unique sound helps quite a bit. Having to go back and redo the previous level after failing the level that you are actually on can be super annoying but im not going to downvote for that either, because we’ve realized that without it the game would be relatively short lived and there is something oddly satisfying about having to go back and complete a level you know that you can beat, instead of just losing over and over again on the level you are trying to beat. We thought it was interesting to find out through playing the game that dungeon completion is determined by the number of clicks that the character makes and not the actual space traveled in the dungeon (so attacking moves the character as far along as walking). Also, each button press slightly increases your time bar making it so that the faster you press each button, the more time that you have. Until we noticed those two gaming physics, we wasnt sure if it was possible to beat the final level (it is). But for us it took a lot of playtime in order to build muscle memory and visual memory to recall the attack pattern for each monster. Really, having to learn this for us is what made the game so satisfying to play. Some games are difficult for no apparent reason and dont seem to have any structure for providing any discernible ability to improve in skill and mastery of the game. We feel this game did that quite well.

We thought it was too easy when we first started because the button you needed to press was highlighted, but quickly realized youre not gonna be looking at the buttons for practically the whole game, it become muscle memory once you get further, Great job Nitrome!

We’ve been trying to find a game that could get us addicted while also being entertaining to play without becoming bored of the repetitiveness eventually. This game is not only fun, but it provides new enemies consistently! While there are some ads, we just turn on airplane mode, load the game, then turn off airplane mode and that gets rid of the ads. Highly recommend this game!

We havent played mobile games in a while but this was a great refresher. We loved it and beat it. We loved the level mechanism that made it so you have to beat two levels in a row in order to progress, we saw others complaining but it was obviously purposeful…. It was frustrating but also made the game a lot more interesting. It might have been nicer if the game were a little more rewarding for speed, since it was really fun just spamming the buttons to go really fast, but making a few mistakes as a result usually caused us to lose. To beat the game we actually had to slow down and focus so we didnt make any mistakes. More of a time reward after you do some insanely fast maneuvering might be fun. But we respect the design and have been playing nitrome games since the start <3.

So we downloaded flappy bird 0/10 Terrible controls and you cant even buy it anymore.

Great game to play at work or down time. Love the sound effects and well worth to buy the no ads.

The only mobile game we can say we really like it play. Also the only review we care to leave.

We would totally recommend this game to people who love RPGs. This game is really exciting combat and exploration, and also gives you a bit of a challenge. You can unlock all sorts of gear and even try out an endless mode! People should definitely play this game!

But its been glitching on us in level 12. For some reason our buttons are lagging so we run into things thinking we havent gone forward…

We finally beat the game, getting past the 16th level, but now there is a weird glitch where it adds another level of a really short level, that adds another end boss and you can just keep going. We thought that was worth mentioning.

We love the game but we wish there wasnt so much ads. Its like a waste of our time skipping through ads. Pls stop the ads.

A beautiful balance of simplicity and complexity make up this skill-based arcade game. Never feels unfair. Paying for the premium is worth it. Beautiful in terms of both aesthetics and game design. If we could give suggestions to the developers, though, we recommend adding something renewable that costs coins, such as one extra life or something that protects you from one mistake. Then coins won’t lose their value once everything has been purchased. On the other hand, the game shouldn’t be pay to win, so the renewable item purchases would have to be once-per-day and/or not such an immense benefit as to tip the scales entirely in favor of success. Also, seeing more work on the score system, and maybe even a leaderboard, would be a good idea to increase the amount of intrinsic motivation in the game. Our suggestions are not complaints, however, and this game is probably our favorite this year. Thank you for gifting this to the world.

This game is fun we love how it gets more complicated by level and how if your going to quickly you louse time we think this is a great game.

Repetitive, but fun. We have no sense of depth perception and cannot tell how far something is infront of us. This does not only apply to this game.

Fun game but one problem we have is that this game requires complete focus and staring at these visuals for too long hurts our eyes. Its all black and white so the contrast can mess with our eyes too. Maybe if there was a different color palate it would be more bearable.

We grew up on 1st person dungeon crawls like Bards Tale, so its wired into our brain to love the design aesthetic here. Really its almost a rhythm game minus music. You have to memorize the right combos for each enemy. Starting at about level 10, you really cant afford to make a single mistake, so it becomes very challenging. Overall its very fun and addictive, but Id love to see a little more depth on the RPG side. Gaining a level has no appreciable effect (in fact it does not even say what level you are), and items you buy are purely cosmetic. We wish there was some kind time bonus that could be either found or cast as a spell. Multiple paths through the dungeon would be cool, even if arbitrary, creating more of a feeling of exploration. How about some traps as well as just monsters? Fun game overall, and a keeper, but maybe an update or two away from greatness.

Missing SOUNDS!!!! All Nitrome games we’ve downloaded are pretty fun but they are all missing their soundtracks and FX! We hope this helps the developers and isnt lost on them!

This game is a wonderful pixel art re(action) game. Notice how we said reaction? We put the action part in parentheses because that is this games genre. It is not an RPG. Yes, there are items to collect. Yes there are things to equip. However, the former is just collectibles that (as far as we can see) do nothing, and the latter either filters visuals, makes a new sound whenever you walk/attack, or just looks pretty in your left hand. Also, usually there is a story trying to be told in RPGs, thus Role Playing Game. Your goal in this game is just to kill monsters in a linear dungeon with no dialogue, story or reason. Thus, this is an action game. A better name for it would probably be Dungeon Run. Going back to the game itself. The art is absolutely wonderful, if simple. The whole game takes place in a huge dungeon complex filled with monsters big and small. And your goal as the player is to make it through all of the levels in the dungeon, while collecting odd trinkets and money from chests. Using your money you can purchase equipment before returning to the depths back on the surface. Gameplay, much like the visuals, is rather simple. There are five buttons, foreword, left, right, defend/evade and attack. Each enemy has a different combination, some run after being hit resulting in the combo hit-forward/sideways-hit, others just stand there and take it. If you mess up a combo, you get a penalty. That penalty being a reduction of your remaining time, bringing us to this games other mechanic. Every level has a time limit displayed at the top of the screen, and its actually pretty simple, the time ticks down every second, and a chunk is lost whenever you make a mistake. Endless mode is what we consider to be training mode for players struggling in the main mode, and a way to continue playing after finishing the main levels. Our only real peeve with this mode is the fact it, much like this games title, is misleading. It still has a time limit. So no matter what, there will still be an end, this could be easily fixed by converting the time limit bar at the top to a health bar, resulting in a game over still being possible, while not having a misleading name for a mode. Other than that, there is a dog(?) that gives you money if you touch it at the bottom of the item shelf, and the game needs a resolution change for the 2018 iPad Pros.

Oh our god the precision and rate at which you have to put in the combos is brain bending. It took us about a week to finally beat the minute long last level. We had to record our runs to study the boss combo. The beautiful visual and audio carried this overly frustrating game hard. Our main complaint is that the telegraphing is never really clear, this combined with intense urgency makes for a frustration molotov. It feels needlessly frustrating. When we need to turn left, it looks like we’re not yet at the corner, all the chests look alike, all the skeletons look alike. Sure that adds challenge but we felt it took away from the fun.

This game has bad registration cause most of the time we will click and not do the action in time before we do another action please fix this otherwise great game.

Kinda fun, but re-dungeon exists by the same developers, and its a phenomenal game that takes a similar idea and does much more with it. Maybe this just isnt our jam, but it seems pretty shallow.

Edit: we beat level 15 and we assumed it was the end but we got a bunch of levels afterwards that are really short and all end with the boss fight with the giant skeleton. We think this is just a glitch. Also the infinite dungeon mode has stopped functioning and only spawns empty hallways Im a big fan of nitrome games and we like the gameplay of sprint rpg but the leveling system and the lack of any form of power up is a little aggravating. For example, if you fail a locked level the game requires you to repeat the previous level but also doesnt allow you to replay any lower levels. We would like to be able to replay earlier levels to see how fast we can finish them. We also thought youd be able to buy better items like new boots that allow you to take one step too far into an enemy without losing time (usable once or twice per level). As of now the items are just cosmetic add ons. And as fun as hitting enemies with a bone is, for 150 coins we wish it did something. We just dont feel any motivation to collect coins. They seem incidental.

Really fun first person rpg that feels a bit like a rhythm game. The one star is because the ads are pretty intrusive and the in app purchases button to remove them doesnt seem to be working.

One of the more addictive games that you can get without subscribing to Apple Arcade. Just switch your WiFi and cellular off to prevent intrusive ads and you’re good to go!

Its a great game dont get us wrong, the monster designs are really creative and fun and the gameplay is addictive too. Our only complains lie within the fact that we have great difficulty seeing how close we actually am to an enemy which would cause us to swing too early. In a game all about being quick this really messes with our flow and Id appreciate it if you made it a bit more clear. (Faded until close then bold colors, indicator, etc..) keep up the great work though!

We love the idea of this game, but Im stuck on the eighth level. It seems like we just need to make two mistakes and Im dead. Sure, we could watch an ad to continue, but that feels like cheating. If the rest of the game is going to be even more difficult, Im not going to waste our time.

Let us say first that we do like this game. We love the aesthetic and concept of crawling through a dungeon and making your way to the end. Im normally not a fan of timed games where we feel rushed but we made an exception with this one. Earning gold to buy different accessories was fun and finding the treasures throughout the game was something to look forward to each time we played. However, the one MAJOR complaint we have is the fact that when you dont complete a level they make you go to the previously level before you can make progress again. What the friggin heck? How does that make any sense? Cant be from an money perspective because you cant buy a way to surpass this. Only spend money on gold that only gives you cosmetic items. So why make it so you get set back a level? Its only purpose is to agitate the player knowing when you were this close to finishing a level that you have to go back to the previous one. Devs, please give us a reason as to why you implemented this. Im stuck on 15 but continuously have to do 14 just to get there. What other game makes you do this? Would it make sense in super Mario bros to go back to lvl 1 because you cant beat lvl 2? Totally asinine. We wish this game was more fleshed out but for what it is we have no motivation to further complete the game. No worth our time. Glad we didnt spend any money on this game because it aint worth it to anybody. Try again nitrile.

Word for word we agree with one of the first guys review you see when looking at the game in the store his name was Sparktier we believe. To unlock a level you must beat the level that also comes after it and that is logic that is so absurd we dont have a single thought as to why do that. We too am stuck on the last level because getting to the boss requires a perfect and speedy input run. Thats not the huge issue its having to replay level 14 every time we dont finish the boss just so we can attempt level 15 again which has the final boss at the end. Its just annoying because level 14 as well just requires really fast input as the countdown timer is fast.

We think this is a decent game concept, and it’s executed decently in our opinion aside from depth perception challenges. The questionable depth perception is likely purposeful to evoke mistakes, so this could be a difference in our tastes versus the developer’s tastes. After every two runs (roughly 30 seconds each run) there will be a 5 skippable ad. Upon dying, you must wait 10 seconds and then get a 5 second skippable ad, or watch a 30 second ad to continue. When you die, you will need to repeat the previous level before attempting the the new level again. I’d say this design would be more permissible if the frequency of ads in the game were reduced. Repeating the same level in our experience is not as fun as one might think it is. The learning curve is fast, but there are still basic purposeful misrepresentations of enemies and the graphics that will cause one to make a mistake. Overall, decent game. Many ads(~1 ad every minute). Level repetition on loss.

Fun game. Simple not much to it. But crashes after every run so not going to play it.

… But the inability to quickly tell when something is still one step away or right in front of you is a real problem in a game like this. Its still a fun time, but maybe something as simple as making the things right in front of you have a stronger black outline would fix the problem?

We think the ads ruin it. Also we play better thinking of it as a game of whack a mole and ignore the action, much faster and ruins the fun completely.

Would be great if if actually was an RPG. The core game mechanic is fine, but it only has superficial RPG elements where you get meaningless rewards for meaningless achievements. At least make it so you can spend gold on extra continues.

Great idea! Work on depth perception lil bit. Thanks ! Keep it coming nitrome you guys rock !

The final fantasy Ad you can never exit out of and when you do it takes you to safari and THEN the app store and oh heck its so annoying. We enjoy this game but we will never deal with that BS.

We just uninstalled this game, because it stopped being fun. Its not really an RPG; its just a sequence of enemies where you have to memorize the moves to beat them. It goes from really easy to really hard, without anything in between. If you make a single mistake in the level, you might as well give up and start over, because a single mistake will take off enough time that you probably cant complete the level. And as other people mentioned, all of the enemies and corners look a little too far away, so its easy to take an extra step by mistake. Sorry Nitrome: Theres just not much of a game here.

Very nice art and concept. Execution is beyond understanding. Upgrading weapons cost hundreds of gold. One level gets you around 3-5 gold. Are you kidding us? We just started the game and we dont want to grind already. So instead you make players watch endless ads to get 50 gold per video. Pretty much the whole game is watchng ads to get gold to upgrade. For what? Meh.. Will go spend our time on better games.

We were reading the reviews and saw many people talking about the depth perception being bad. We decided to try it out anyways, and man, its worse than we could have ever imagined. Its almost unplayable taking it slow, let alone speeding through it like the point of the game suggests. It is simply not playable with the current depth perception, and we hope they fix it, because it would otherwise be an amazing little game.

Since the game demands that levels be finished faster and faster theres a huge increase in the number of ads you have to watch within the first couple levels. This pairs terribly with when you fail locked levels you have to repeat the previous one again. If youre lacking in accuracy and speed all it does is punish you. It seems like there was a missed opportunity with the inventory slots. There ought to be an item class that you can only equip one or two of. Examples a weapon that kills things quicker/hit from further away if you attack too soon, shoes that let you run into corners without losing time, offhand item that gives back a little time when you tap it, headwear that highlights trapped chests or other surprise features. A lot couldve been done to curb the difficulty but was missed.

We love this game, the design, the enemies, the different weapons and armors, but one thing that REALLY annoys us is the lack of depth perception. When Im about to turn we click one more time and we loose health. That is REALLY annoying. And when we are facing some of the smaller enemies, we click forward once more, BAM, we lost health. And we know that you can tell because it turned black but we still have troubles with this. Maybe this is part of the game, but for now, we dunno! One more thing about this is that mostly all of the time when you open chests, there is garbage, or nothing at all! We are pretty new to the game so that might be the problem but please make finding at least not very affective armor, more occasional. Every thing else about this game, makes the rustic style everyone is looking for. Thank you if u read this!!

This game makes us want to scream. This is for multiple reasons. One, the timer is constantly going down to the point where you can hardly make a single mistake. You also feel pressed for time making you go faster and make more mistakes. This would be fun if the game was actually playable. Two, the signals are terrible. We can never tell what we are supposed to do, yes it shows a button prompt on the buttons, but your eyes are not on the buttons, they are on the creatures and the timer. Also the creatures and walls require you to move to them way sooner than you expect. We have lost the run multiple times to just misjudging the distance. Three, the level progression. In order to progress through this game, not only do you have to play through the level you just did again, but you also have to finish the next level, or else it wont be unlocked, and when you die, and decide to leave to check out the optional cosmetics or something, the game makes fun of you for backing out and calls you a chicken. This game makes us so mad, it is worse than any other game we have played in our life, and we have played some brutal games. When we were younger, we used to associate Nitrome with mediocre games that were ok time killers. Now we associate this company with utter garbage, that is not worth a minute of your time.

Its very easy to press the wrong button and this game is just wierd.

Okay let us know explain something very simple. If Im playing your game and a full screen ad suddenly pops up out of nowhere and hijacks our screen, that means that your game is utter crap. Theres really no ambiguity here.
