There are a lot of these out there, but this one seemed to be crafted more carefully and creatively than most. The only part we didnt like was the hidden Awaken clue. It was just luck that we happened to click there (unless there was an indication that we missed)
Not the usual escape game, in that the game logic is a little different (but very logical!) and the puzzles are not the usual sort. We enjoyed it a lot and look forward to more from this developer. (Also, as someone else said, love the nods to old-school games like Myst.)
… And we really would like to know how you found our old Myst notes Seriously, a great puzzle escape adventure with refreshingly different challenges (and we’ve played a lot of these games). This is on par with some of the Jammworks games. We cant wait to see more from you.
The graphics were amazing and the calming music set the tone to relax and solve the puzzles in our own time. We look forward to more games from this developer.
A really good game from a new developer…. Challenging puzzles and very nice controls. Our only complaint is that it’s too short. This review is our way of saying ‘more please!’
Short game but it was very challenging and so much fun. The graphics are top notch and the game play is very smooth. We cant wait for you to put out more games! If you are looking for a challenging and super fun game, definitely get this one. You wont be disappointed!!!
While this is not the longest escape room we’ve ever done, we love the graphics, we love the music… Very challenging. Hope to see more from Startlecat.

We have played COUNTLESS escape and point-and-click games over the years. This one stands out as a delightful reminder of why we love these games. Especially when it comes to free games of this kind, it typically becomes more about trying to crack the developers MO rather than working logically through puzzles and clues. This one actually follows old-school clues and makes logical leaps (what a concept!) Beautiful animation, easy controls, fun puzzles. (Side note: we have a journal somewhere with those EXACT same drawings from Myst. The nod made our nerd heart flutter and explained part of why this game is so good: the developer understands good game play!) Thank you for a fabulous game!
This was a great little game for free. Dont underestimate it, it will make you think. Graphics and movement are top notch. If something is not working, its because you havent done something right!
Very short, but thats okay. It was beautifully logical once we got the hang of the sequence of events and, we have to say, we ADORED the little MYST references sprinkled in along with other homages to other known puzzle games. Lovely.
This was a great escape room. We have played many escape games (too many). Most of the other escape games have the same carbon copy things to do over and over. This game developer made some unique puzzles that were different then other games (and therefore made us think). Thank you and Im looking forward to seeing what you come up with next.
Really fun escape game. Clever and challenging but not overwhelmingly difficult. Only downside is that it is quite short and the developers don’t have anything else out (yet? ). We’re hoping they’ll put another (longer) game out soon! We very much enjoyed it!

This is by far the best escape game we’ve ever played. We CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT GAME.
Some fun little touches in this one… Loved seeing the Rachmaninoff sheet music and the little plug for the "Get Lamp" doc. The graphic design is lovely, especially with the scrolling display… Certainly a cut above other escapes. The hint system is well worth the 99 cents if you need it. Hoping very much for a more expansive future title.
This short little game turned out to be harder for us than Id like to admit, but was still fun once we started understanding its particular logic. The only real problem we had was one of inventory manipulation, where we knew the solution but couldnt figure out how to make it work. Needless to say, we skipped that puzzle and finished the final one through process of elimination, later consulting a walkthrough to understand the prior one. Cant say it was unfair, especially with all the escapers we’ve played, but a little better description of the games mechanics might have been helpful. Still, there was nothing unjustly hard about it, the graphics were fairly polished, and the ending was absurd but funny. Now that we have this one under our belt, we would look forward to another one from this dev with, as others have suggested, a little more depth and perhaps a story. Thanks for the magic!
This game was a straightforward puzzle game. We enjoyed the clean graphics, and the flow of the game. It took us about 30 min to complete and although not incredibly challenging, there were a few head scratchers which were entertaining. We would play another game by this dev. Enjoy.
We really enjoyed this game! We found the puzlles fun to solve, and the game went along at a nice clip. Strange Magic has a very nice look, and the music was just right not intrusive and it did create a nice mood. One thing we thought was really charming, was the presence of a few red herrings personal visual touches that made us think about that there really was a real person behind this game. Also, there is a modest little offer of a hints feature that was very reasonably priced, and we think it added to the experience of playing. Not required, though. The ending was very fun and we left the game with a big smile on our face. Thanks very much!
An okay game until we hit the puzzle that locks us out for 5 minutes before we can try again, just kills the whole thing for me.
Fun game and pretty difficult however we got stuck at a certain part and finally had to look up the answer. It turns out theres a glitch where Im supposed to look at a blimp outside the window with the binoculars but when we do that nothing is there… Just clouds. So Im unable to progress any further. Its a shame because it was pretty fun.
Im a bit baffled by the good reviews. That game is absurdly short. The quality isnt bad, but its not all that difficult and we expected more than 10 minutes of entertainment.
One f in room for a dollar,at that rate average room escape game has 15 rooms so doing math your game is fifteen dollars ,what a rip off save your buck and invest it in a pack of gum you’ll get much more satisfaction from chewing!
