You are the commander of an elite Strike Team aboard the warship, HYDRA. Your first combat mission will have you leading your team in vicious ship-to-ship battles against the Sethari, a mysterious alien race whose soldiers are genetically bred for war.
In this tactical role playing game, you are the commanding officer of a squad of soldiers from the far future. Command each warrior and use cover, suppressive fire, advanced weapons and iron will to defeat the enemy. Always outnumbered, your soldiers will depend on your tactical brilliance to prevail.

COVER: Use barricades and barrels as cover for your soldiers. Less conventional force fields and tachyon fields can also grant a tactical edge to those that hold them.

SUPPRESSION: Use suppressive fire to pin enemy soldiers in place before finishing them off in close assault or with a well-placed grenade.

ACTION POINTS: Every action, including movement, attacks and special abilities, requires action points. Spend them wisely to achieve victory.

MORALE: Your soldiers and the enemy are affected by their courage and determination. If the battle goes well, they fight with grit and determination. If it goes badly, they will focus more on saving themselves than the mission at hand.
Play through a campaign featuring 28 intense firefights including various mission objectives and grueling boss fights. An additional 20 combat missions are available to hone your skills.

Written on: December 9, 2018 we bought this game yesterday( December 8, 2018) after being a year of its release. Since we waited so long, it has increased in updates so we can review the game initially. Firstly, It seems the game is more animated this time around than the previous 2 games, ( Demons rise 1 and 2) and the graphics have been the most noticeable. Secondly, This game feels like a direct inspiration of Xcom in regards to the combat and competitiveness of the A. We down to the storyline and setting. Finally, While this game focuses on tightly controlled combat, the characters are also tightly controlled to only 12 playable characters. All in all, This game picks its paunches wises as it still gives you the sense of player freedom via the characters, but also it feels like it is a game all on its own with its firefights.. Even though it feels like Xcom! We will give another review once we complete the game.
This game is a home run as we love strategy and sci-fi. Developers keep adding better control over gameplay. Most recent was the undo move option [Big Thank you]! We have not completed all of the campaign as of yet but enjoy the synopsis of what story is driven. Keep up the great work developers!
12.1 IPad – font blurry. Not playable in this form.
Look elsewhere. This is just pathetic. Im embarrassed that we paid money for this junk. All Wavelight games are the same derivative trash. Just… Shameful.
Does not suspend disbelief. The developer is using unrealistic hit ratios. We can be in the adjacent hex to the bad guy and miss 3 times in a row. Yet the bad guy, from 4-5 hexes away, shoots our character who is behind cover and hits them. Until that is "fixed theres no point in playing the game. The screen orientation is limiting as it rotates around an axis. We hate that. Its second rate. We do like the graphics.
Thank you so much we wanted a game just like xcom since we fin it some time ago not only did we find this gem we also found demons rise 1 and 2 and bought all of them wave light games you just got a new fan and player keep them coming….. Update something very minor we notice sometimes depending on the mission layout if there multiple enemy’s surrounding you and you happen to kill them all while taking cover… You sometimes get stuck and cannot move hope u can look into this and fix it we are using a iPad mini 4 so it’s powerful to run the app… Thx devs.
Love the game. Lost our first save a few months ago, gave up for a while. Played again, love the game, made some progress. Lost our second save a month ago. Picked it up again last week, love the game. Lost our third save just now. Too frustrating.
This game had a lot of potential, but the developers just gave up… The graphics are great, the game mechanics are great.. But the story is terrible and there is no real progression, you get all characters and there is nothing to work for at all, plus the developers gave up on it… This game had amazing potential, but they decided to throw it away….
Our only issue thus far .. Why can’t we save during gameplay? That would be a great feature to add. Beyond that the gameplay is decent and the ai is pretty challenging and very entertaining. Also add a way for us to tell the characters to go into an overwatch / guard mode. If you add that 5 stars :) impressed with all you’ve done to get so close to xcom!!!
We love their DR series and a huge fan of their games! If u like the DR series, this won’t disappoint. Played quite a few missions already and having a blast, literally! Have many types of class of characters to choose from to form a team. There’s also different AI difficulty to match your style. Must buy!
Can’t stop playing strike team hydra. Very challenging game, we have to use all our abilities to advance. Wavelight games are the best, highly recommended tactical combat game.
Amazing so far! Reminds us of Demons Rise already but a sci-fi theme!
Title says it all. If you have played demons rise by the same dev you will be familiar with the game, if not definitely check out their other titles as well. This one is the newest game and definitely needs balancing, but the great thing about this dev is they support their titles with updates. We are a little concerned as Demons Rise 2 was a watered down version of DR1 and this title seems like it’s watered down further (less missions, gear, etc) however updates will hopefully add content and balance gameplay. Our advice is if you haven’t picked up DR1 yet, start with that and work your way up to this latest release, which by then will hopefully be updated. Overall a solid title, no buy gold/gem scams included, and built on a successful platform from their previous games. Own everything this dev has made and am happy with the purchases. While we’re concerned with watered down content, it’s still far better than most of the junk being sold. Definitely worth supporting this dev, at least for now unless things get worse.
