The app makes us search for the password instead of being recognized like it is in browser. Its annoying but thats our only complaint. Oh yeah, it says remember us too but we keep having to relog back in to our account. And although we have Direct selected, it rarely shows Direct stockshowing us random shops.
We love this app, for the next update we would suggest giving it the ability to scan graded cards. That is all.
The app is great but its a copy and paste of the browser but it should be its own app, and the fact you have to re sign into your account every single time you wanna go buy something from your cart or sell something.
When we prop up our camera with the flash pointing at our card, it just shows a green outline and will not scan our card to show the details about it. Please respond to this and try to fix it.
We hate having to login every day, and when we press remember us, it never works.
They rushed an app to compete with collectr and pricecharting and its pretty clear. The pricing is obviously reliable with tcgplayer but on the app you have to keep relogging into tcg player to shop and its not optimized for any non pc at all. Its also just hard to use for newer users.
We cant buy cards off this app anymore because when we try we get stuck in a forever loading screen and then app crashes.
Waste of our time, went to scan Pokemon card didnt even work.
Lacks notification control, need to completely block it from sending us notifications for it to not send us ads. Its missing other features but this one is a deal breaker for us.
App doesnt work the dudes in charge are more invested in making a new UI over having an app that functions properly. Everybody involved in the production of this app should be dragged into the street and beaten like the worthless dog they are.
It works just like the website, the scanning cards doesnt seem to work at all but you can manually punch him in and look them up. Its free and does what it should. Im happy with it but wish the scanning worked.
While we use it all the time, it just has many problems that are nearly impossible to just look over. It started with lists constantly wigging out and deleting themselves, then at some point the card scanning stopped working altogether, and when it does think it's scanned a card it's never the one we've attempted to scan, and lastly just today it deleted both our address and card information, and says there's been an error every single time we try to put it back in, rendering the app completely useless as now the one thing that worked(being purchasing cards) has finally stopped working. It's incredibly irritating as we loved the app just a few updates ago and previously had no problems with shipping anything, but we've checked and we're up to date with the current version so at this point all this app is good for is to look at the market price of cards. A shame and we hope they can figure all of these problems out soon.
Trash app doesnt let you scan anything for us and hate it.
Dont know what happened but when the app was updated, the card scanner struggles even harder to scan cards.
TCGplayer is a great way to keep track of cards and plenty of other useful things about card collecting, however its got the worst scanner we have ever seen in an application for scanning cards into collections. We legit have to sit there for 5-10 minutes a card just to add it into our collection yet all our other tracking apps scan our cards just fine. And searching the card up doesnt help either bc it either sends us to completely different card games from the one we are trying to scan or just puts a completely different card up with a different name than what was searched.
App will freeze up among other annoying UI glitches to where it feels unusable.
Ive had the app for a few years and used to really enjoy it. Our collection was always tracked and our decks were always listed out in alphabetical order. Now it seems like aesthetics have completely taken over functionality. The entry system isnt nearly as good, the lists dont stay in the same order you left them, and now the whole thing seems even more like just an expansion of the website instead of a freestanding app. Next thing we know theres going to be a social media aspect attached. Please just stop and go back to what it was.
Had a couple of hiccups with cards that Ive ordered but they have always corrected and more when there was a mistake. Also very easy and convenient to order cards.
Cart issues: Cart is slow to update and lags / loads indefinitely if you update the cart. Please fix.

We dont know why, but our cart is not processing our order.
We want to love this app, but we cant. Im constantly auto-logged out, and the app crashes half the time when we add stuff to cart from our saved cards or vice-versa. The latter causes some cards to be removed from our cart and saved for later section, and we cant remember what they were. So irritating, and its costs you all some sales.
PLEASE UPDATE THE CARD SCANNER!!! What needs to happen for you guys to realize how much better this app would be with an improved scanner? Its honestly so frustrating and time-consuming trying to add new cards to our collection. The app has great potential, but the scanner holds it backPlease make this a top priority.
In practice, this app promises a lot, but doesnt really live up to it. It seems like its simply a reskinned web browser that goes to the TCG player site. The main issue we have is with accessibility. Our eyesight isnt so good, so being able to have it in portrait mode would really help with being able to make out things. Having it save our user data login information basically would be nice as well. In the card scanner needs perfect conditions to work. Where youd use this? Never gonna be perfect conditions.
So clunky, so slow, great products and reviews and marketplace. Terrible user experience.
Ever since one of the newest updates came out this past year the scanner function works one out of twenty tries. We rely on this for pricing singles in our tcg binders at work, now its nearly impossible to do so or takes 5 minutes for one card to possibly scan. Yes we can use the search function, but it doesnt allow you to filter by date or event so millions of one card can pop up and we have to sift through to check the numbers on each one. At least add a filter feature for your search bar if the scanner isnt going to work, please.
The scanner doesnt scan anything we even use a card and phone holder so theres no movement still wont scan even with best lighting.
We spent months adding our cards to our collection and building it up and today (October 25, 2025) we go to add cards to collection and all four of our collections are gone. Thousands of cards gone. We would never use this app to track our collection ever again. TCG is the best for finding the value of cards, but this app doesnt help when it deletes your collection. Use it for everything else except collection.
We use TCGplayer to check prices and order all our stuff as its where we find the best prices consistently, but the app is not great. We tried using it as our way of tracking our collection but the scanning is slow and useless in our experience and manually searching is much too slow especially if you have multiple cards. We have to unfortunately use PriceCharting for our collection tracking as its the better option whether manually OR using your camera to input. What really is the straw that broke the camels back is the fact that we ALWAYS click stay logged in on this device but it always has us log in and use a 2FA sort of method EVERY time on mobile OR just on our desktop.
We wanted this app to be awesome. You get to see the accurate price on the market for cards we want/have. The let down is the scanner. It struggles GREATLY. We havent accurately scanned a single card. When theres a sleeve on it, forget about it lol. We want this to be our new, go to app because of price accuracy compared to Rare Candy and COLLECTR. Both the aforementioned apps under or over value. But both run LAPS around TCG when it comes to scanning. Plus the apps interface is not intuitive and clunky. Would love to see this app thrive.
Ive been happy using this app to track and organize our collections, but recently it just freezes and fails to load every time we try to update. Its beyond frustrating, we dont know how yall messed it up so bad.
So when we enter a card into our collection and the first one is a foil it makes that in our collection, and then we enter another of the same card that we have but its normal and not a foil it will reclassify the first one we entered as normal and number it as having 2 cards that are normal even though you entered one as foil and the other as normal. Whats the point of doing our collection when you cant actually enter different versions of the same card? They make them in foil and normal and maybe some people have the same card both in foil and in normal.
If youre trying to scan a card, it will first take forever to scan it and sometimes not even bring up the right card! So we thought the searching system would be better Uhhh no. We collect Pokemon cards so if Im trying to search for some random card we have to look past all the Yu gi oh! Cards and magic the gathering cards just to find the Pokemon and then it pulls up a bunch of random other Pokemon that we didnt search before finally finding the ONE card. So unless you want to suffer like us until they hopefully fix this, we would not recommend. :).
But the app leaves much to be desired. You need to re login a lot and it sends an email to us almost every time. Also it endlessly loads a lot and you need to go back and re submit.
This is a great app! Loving seeing and purchasing any of our favorite cards. Would be nice to update when logging in to have that automatic Face ID for passwords rather than typing it in all the time because it keeps logging us out. Would be nice to get that fixed for a faster login.
There are a few glitches that need resolving. If these are fixed itll (for the time till a major upgrade occurs) make the UI waayyy smoother. 1. When you search for cards and are scrolling, you click on a card to look at details, the option to go back is not available. You are forced to RE-SEARCH the card you were looking at and scroll all the way through till you make it back to where you were. 2. Add to cart, for days now. Ill open the app and realize the cards we added earlier in the day or day before were no longer in our cart. Why? Idk. It says, if you want your cart saved or to see previous cart history, log in. But, the whole time, Im already logged in? The app seems like its the website, within an app? If that makes senseI feel like a simple functioning update for this app would do wonders.
Ive tried all the angles in all lighting on all surfaces it will not scan anything we put in front of it. We put item on pokemon then scanned a pokemon card and it didnt scan.
The app logs us out every time and it is very annoying.
Scanning cards doesnt allow you to see the full title or variant so you have to guess which card to pick. Dropdown to select foil, etc no longer has the option to change the type. Useless.
TCGPlayer used to be the best and with one update they were able to destroy it. Very disappointing.
The app has become almost unusable as a card reader. The app had bugs initially with even keeping a collection saved. Even if we manually searched the cards. Interface is basically trash. Fix this app.
Super slow loading times especially on the checkout screen. Trying to place an order right now but after multiple attempts it still isnt loading. Also why do we have to log back in constantly, a mobile app should remember a user's login information. This app has so much potential but basic functionality needs to be improved upon.
Rhetorical question. If you ever tried to buy using the TCGPlayer app, you will realize right away that youre better off using their web page. Why? Because the app cant get the basics down. Things that are standard for most online shops simply dont work on this app. Heres 2 pain points we experience: 1. Remember our login on this device doesnt work – the app will make you login again and again even if you check the check box. 2. Removing items from your cart. If you remove item(s) from your cart, the app seized up on us every time. We would remove an item from our cart, then the app will seize up on us. Resulting in having to hard close the app, re open the app, log back in using our credentials (even though we check remember our login on this device), view our cart to make sure the item we wanted to remove has been removed.
This app is great except for having to login every 5 minutes again which is time consuming and crucial when wanting to buy high demand cards. Even when you hit keep us logged in it still logs you out. Fix this issue and we will give this app 5 stars.
This is legit just the website poorly moved to mobile. Why do we need to keep signing in EVERY TIME we OPEN THE APP.
Checking the cart requires repeated refreshes which often time out. New look has not been worth the performance hit.
Yeah, the scanning could have been better with the older versions, but this new update is the worst. Cant even scan anything no matter what we do and have to manually type every single card in. Please go back to the old version.
The old format we felt always could have used some tweaks to make it a bit better. But the completely new redone format is absolutely atrocious!!! If anything please go back to how it was.
Really did think that the update could make this app more unenjoyable, think you can scan cards now?? Probably not.
But it did not. We are primarily writing this review to point out that the back/forward navigation buttons do not work when browsing cards. Back to the browser.
