Needs updates to camera functionality and scanning, mores defined manual card inputs like card numbers or sets would be great as well.
We loved this app. The interface is handy. It randomly stopped scanning cards on our phone. We tried reinstalling. Same thing. For buylist this makes it faster to just use our laptop and so there is no point in having the app. Very good app that is now garbage.
Its pointless to use the camera scanner it never works. We have to enter them manually every time its so irritating. We’ve tried many angles and background and from multiple distances it straight up does not work.
Thanks eBay for ruining such a great app, we’ve been using tcgplayer for years and what do you know as soon as eBay takes over it completely goes left. From a zoom in bug to searching up sets and having it say 0 results. This is by far the worst this app has ever been.
It is a great way to organize our rares in our binders. Now Philly suggestion we would add is in the section where it says shop and we have to log into our TCG player account. We would just want to stay logged in instead of us lets say go through the shop and then nine hours later we login again to tcgplayer. Com, we dont want to have to login again but aside from that we love this and we hope this goes up to four out of five in the future.
Solid 3 stars. Theres nothing exciting in the functionality for browsing cards or putting together a list, but it does that and we can make our orders quickly with good communication from the sellers. We have one big complaint and one small complaint about using this app. Big complaint: it forgets our device every 15 minutes. There is no remember us equivalent button, and if Im not actively in the app it logs us out. There have been multiple occasions where we log in, start adding some cards to our cart, get distracted, come back, add more cards and find we have two different cards that dont properly merge when we log back in. Please fix this. Your site says you can check a box and itll remember a device for 14 days. This is not our experience at all. Little complaint: Ill be putting together an order and optimize our cart to find weird expensive versions of cards listed. Ill then remove the expensive version and add the same card at a reasonable price from one of the sellers already on our list. Seems like the optimize functionality should handle that.
Im sick of having to enter our email and password every time we go on the app. Fix it to remember info.
This app is fantastic if you just want to browse cards. That being said, the user interface is quite clunky. We have to log in every time we want to check our order or account, which is extremely frustrating. We dont mean once or twice we mean, if we closes the app and open it immediately, we have to login again. Insanely frustrating. Additionally, when we click our tracking # it has never once, opened the usps window. PLEASE PLEASE improve the remember us feature.
Ill be brief: Good prices from vendors, but they somehow managed to charge our debit card directly even when we’ve selected the option to buy with Apple Pay only, so basically we’ve spent twice the money: adding funds to our Apple Wallet and the app charging for the card purchases. Not going to do any kind of transaction with this app ever again.
An app version of a site or service is meant to make everything easier and more efficient. Somehow TCGPlayers app functions more poorly than the mobile site. With constant log outs youre forced to log in EVERYTIME and as a big seller on their platform its infuriating. We check TCGPlayer about 20 times a day so just this issue alone has made the app unusable for us. Im forced to use the mobile site if Im on our phone. On that note, the app version is LITERALLY a bootleg copy of the desktop version. So youre forced to scroll and zoom on every page. It has the same feeling of scrolling the browser on a fire stick, clunky and time consuming. The only feature we even remotely like is the scan and collection features, its fairly accurate and easy to use but only useful for our customers looking to sell their collections, and if Im uploading a photo listing. So 2 stars, it has one redeeming feature but 90% off the app is inefficient and in no way user friendly.
Near mint cards are valued at less than lightly played cards. Some of our most valuable cards (referenced on other sites) are 50-100% more valuable if they are lightly played rather near mint condition. Discovered this after our husband and we each spent 4-5 hours scanning hundreds of cards.
We heard high praises of this app but was very let down. It ONLY works with Pokmon magic and yugioh cards. Not worth the time to download.
Every time we leave and close the app it makes us sign back in and it doesnt ever save the login info or have face recognition to sign in. Just googling the store is quicker and easier because at least google saves the login info for a faster entry. Fix that and its 5 star, until there its fairly worthless besides looking up card prices.
One of the worst apps we’ve ever used in our life. Flooded with bugs, rarely works right.
It is so glitchy we thought it was our Wi-Fi but no its just a trashy app.
We never leave reviews and this app led us to come here to relay that it is in fact trash. It will frustrate you more than anything. Its barely able to scan a card. SUPER SUPER FRUSTRATING. DO NOT GET.
Please fix the bug where it makes us sign in again each time we open the app. We want it to save our login.
Several of our friends use this app to sell their cards, and they say the process is a pain in the butt.. As a average Joe, we really like the interface, we find it simple to navigate, and we can easily and quickly check the value of cards, (whether ones we want to buy, or ones we just have)
It definitely could use some features to help with the ease of updating the collection that we have, im just a small collector though. We love that its free, thats what makes it worth using.
TCGplayer itself is absolutely amazing! Literally got our orders in 2 days and all of their prices are awesome! The only issue we have is the scanning system for the app. No matter what we do it doesn’t scan our cards… Instead of trying to scan it at an angle the way they do, they should just have it be scanned from a top down view.
Okay app for its purpose, but its pretty annoying how it logs you out every single time you close the app, or even switching to a new app momentarily.
If your just looking to do quick searches for cards its fine. As a seller, its a pain in the butt. Logs you out, a lot of seller tools dont work or are not optimized for the app or just redirects you to desktop site. We think a designated seller app would be a good idea.
We have to keep going into our email and get the security code for buying and selling. Its getting real annoying. Going from never having to login to anytime we want to do anything. Fix this and itll get a better rating.
Cant even find most of the cards we’ve hit from scarlet and violet to add to our collection because yall dont have them in the data base yet or something but please fix.
Buggy, slow, crappy port of the mobile website. Save yourself the space on your phone and use that instead.
It is pretty frustrating having to login to the app every time we use it.
Good idea for an app. The scanning is HORRIBLE and had to do without it. Doesnt work. And you cant look up cards by number. Just could be 5000 times better.
We have never had any problems with the app until recently. The marketplace stopped accepting Apple pay and it wont let us enter our card info.
Not the most mobile friendly app but the service is great, beats all of the competition for at least Yu-Gi-Oh needs online. Also currently bugged so that you need to login every time you open the app, which deals a very big blow to it’s convenient usability on mobile. If they could team up with folks that know how to design mobile apps well this app would be amazing!
On the website it has so many TCGs, but on the app only 3? Whats up with that? Trying to scan our metazoo cards but it only has pokemon, magic, and yugioh.
We are trying to check out and it will not let us enter anything into the credit card section. When we tap on the boxes to enter credit card number/exp date/etc nothing happens no keyboard appears.
Will not stay logged in, and doesnt interact with iOS keychain well. Beyond that the app is just ok, its no better than a browser window though.
We recently deleted the app because it has you sign in every single time you close the app. Tried to store our password thinking it would soften the blow and it still doesnt work. Why dont we have a facial ID set up yet? CEO sent email of stepping down and now login issues. EBay buyout at its best. Yall make too much money to have silly issues like this.
This app is no good for the following reason. It will not perform the one function that we downloaded it for which is to scan the Pokmon cards.
Very difficult to navigate on IPhones. Constantly signing us out during purchasing and adding cards back into our cart that we had deleted.
App does NOT keep you logged in. Completely useless if you want to use it to check on status of orders or quickly add a card to your cart.
The seller portal doesnt work. Why even advertise that we can sell our cards on the app when every time we try to the app sends us the portal screen where nothing loads. Its just a blank white page. Whats worse is theres no actual customer support. Theres just bots everywhere.
The new update did nothing to solve the constant login bug.
The big advantage of the app was being able to check order status quickly and maybe make a purchase from mobile. After the most recent update it no longer allows you to stay logged in. Having to login every time defeats the whole purpose of the app.
A sign of things to come under new eBay management. The app now forces you to log in everytime you open it ignoring the remember us button.
We use this app to scan new cards the most. The app is rarely updated when new sets release. Tcg sends out a constant flurry of emails to get you pumped for new releases, then the day comes and they arent ready. More than half of the new sets that have come out in the last few years are not available on the app for week(s) after cards hit street.
This is more of a review for the update that makes you log back in every time. We don’t like it. Why couldn’t there be a stay logged in option? Long email + long, safe password is no Bueno to have to retype every single time we open the app on mobile.
App works great for MTG and so far has been reliable with the new cards being updated but the lack of a landscape mode is annoying.
If you cant get a card to scan, try giving your phone a quick shake. Its almost like the camera gets to thinking too hard sometimes and needs a reset.
The UI needs some polishing, being able to swipe to go back would be great. Otherwise we like the app. One major problem we have is that with the latest update we are logged out as soon as we close the app. That never happened before this weekend.
When we started using this app it was amazing, but recently in the last year things have been falling off. Half of our orders never show up, and the other ones always take over 20 days to arrive, if they even do. We’ve been left empty handed for Christmas gifts and birthday gifts because they just never showed up. Its been quite inconvenient considering just in the last few months we’ve had 4 packages no show. Its starting to feel like a scam. And theres no compensation at all for all the wasted time waiting for nothing besides having to wait even longer for a refund. Not cool.
Had us thinking we had high end cards kept scanning duplicates and gave us wrong variant of our cards, honestly trash went back to typing it in website.
After updating the app now logs us out of our account each time we exit it, we’ve tried deleting and redownloading. This is super tedious and we hope it gets fixed or else we might have to abandon it.
Idk whats going on but it keeps signing us out every couple minutes. Please fix.
