City of Newton, 2087. Genetic engineering is the norm, the addictive Trance has replaced almost any need for human interaction, and an omnipresent AI named Central powers the city.

CEL agents Charlie Regis and Max Lao are investigating a serial Mindjacker who is tapping into the neural wiring of seemingly ordinary citizens, stealing their knowledge and leaving them dead. An agoraphobic net addict named Latha Sesame might be the next target. But when Charlie’s past comes back to haunt him, he and his partner find themselves on opposite sides of the law, with Latha’s fate in the crossfire.

PC Gamer – "An old school point-and-click adventure with a captivating story, strong characters, and a rich, well-realised sci-fi setting." 80%

Rock, Paper, Shotgun – "Set in a semi-dystopian future, the game features multiple protagonists exploring a tale of genetic engineering, AI overseers, mysterious mind-hacking murders, and overlapping online and offline worlds. It is, in that sense, delightfully pulp sci-fi. But it’s also a delicate story of individuals, personal struggles, and most of all, a nuanced approach to complex future-worries."

Adventure Gamers – "Technobabylon is a beautiful, compelling game that fans of the cyberpunk genre will devour" 4/5

GameSpot – "When the going gets tough, the tough sometimes take a fishing pole and start fishing in a bloody Jacuzzi stuffed with a mutilated body. That’s, at least, the lesson you learn in Technobabylon, a point-and-click adventure that’s set in 2087 in a city where a powerful AI controls and observes all." 8/10

Find out what gamers are saying about Technobabylon:

Excellent game! Wasnt too short, nice length. Reminds us of great old RPG games we played as a kid many years ago. Highly recommend and looking forward to the sequel!

Love their games. Great plot, characters, dialogues and puzzles. This one delivers greatly also!

Great premise with a clever script and fun puzzles. Recommend highly!

We never write reviews. This game is so great it deserves a review. The story was well thought and immersive. At times it was almost like reading a novel as the story unfolded. Love the retro graphics and the gameplay wasn’t bad. We’ll admit one or two puzzles where we needed a walk through because they weren’t exactly intuitive. Oh, the voice acting wasn’t bad either. We’ll admit laughing out loud when Cheffie began losing its mind. We’re looking forward to seeing what else comes from this company.

This game is awesome. Recommended for adventure fans. A hint system would definitely be great, but there are walkthroughs available online. It would be awesome if they made a sequel…

Clearly a lot of care went into this. Yes, some puzzles a little tricky, but thats a good thing. An amazing sci-fi adventure.

Beautifully done with a background that hinted at a world much bigger than what we saw in the journey of the game, and a hint of nostalgia that made everything seem familiar, but alien at the same time. The plot was thrilling, the characters well rounded, and the game play excellent. 10/10, would definitely recommend.

Some puzzles were pretty hard, but we loved this entire game. The storyline is incredible, rich and intricate. Especially for the price. We thoroughly enjoyed this, we hope someday they make a sequel. The voice acting is too-notch. No one annoyed us unless they were supposed to, which is rare.

Good game, we have to say! A bit harder than the other wadjet eye games (in our opinion) but nothing unmanageable.

The story line behind this game was genius. Really surprised by the amount of thought put into the creation of the characters and their world (especially for a game we paid less than five bucks for). Puzzles were also fun as well. We felt like the puzzles were fair and intuitive. You didn’t have to make huge leaps in logic to progress. Of the four games made by this company in the app store, this was our favorite, but Shardlight was a very close 2nd. Well done game creators!

Fascinating, suspenseful story, rich world building with plenty of unnecessary details, and likable characters. Puzzles are… Like most adventure game puzzles… But not impossible. We were impressed by the length of the game as well, compared to similar titles. Overall, a must-have if you like P&C adventures.

If you remember clicking on everything on the screen to get all the dialogue, then this game is for you. If you remember randomly mashing items in your inventory together to see if they interact with each other, then this game is for you! This game harkens back to old school adventure games. The graphics are retro but expressive, and the voice acting was well done. The story is interesting and moves along at a reasonable pace. It’s worth the $5 price tag if you’re a fan of the genre.

We’ve played a lot of point-and-click games over the years and this one is right at the top of the list.

We mean, what to say, what to say? We love all Wadjet Eye games. So we guess this review goes for all of their games. Please keep pumping these out, forever.

Old school point and click with a great immersive storyline that includes different degrees of mental trance consciousness merging with computer networks. Engaging. Leaves us wanting more. Fortunately, some other Wadjet Eye games are on a par with this one.

We’ve been wanting to write this review, but we wanted to finish the game first! After playing Whispers of a Machine and Kathy Rain, we were looking for another great point and click adventure; Im delighted to say that we’ve found it! First of all, the story is amazing. If you like mystery/thriller/sci-fi, this is it. The voice acting is top notch, the gameplay is intuitive, and even the portraits are stellar. The puzzles are fair, although there were some parts where you really have to try everything, but the solutions make sense. We did not use any walkthrough. Unfortunately, some games like Broken Sword and Kathy Rain have these mathematical/insane puzzles, but theres none here. If you get stuck, we would suggest to Google Technobabylon spoiler free hints, which we only had to use for the last puzzle. The rest of the game we tried different things every day. We were very satisfied with the endings and look forward to purchasing the sequel! Highly recommended! Love the characters; they really grow on you throughout the game, never in the negative sense.

The story engulfs you in a futuristic world. Dialogues are spot on, and the plot has some great twists.

We bought this ages ago, just recently had time to play. We love a game that is challenging but intuitive (I.e. Not such random leaps that you need a walkthrough to progress). This game was 95% if not more that. Tbh there was only one time we felt the leap to an answer to be beyond ones natural observation. (Final scene final door lock). We were lazy the other couple times, made sense in hindsight. Do not rely upon the tap/hold to show you all interactive options as not all scenes include all options. Not fast paced, kind of a reader, but interesting throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. FYI we are a casual gamer who prefers a point and click adventure, with story/logic based puzzles to a platformer or battle experience.

Thank you wadjet we love your games.

Im at the station in the scene where you become the moving robot. Im playing on an iPad so the movement is dictated by pressing on something that is a option. We come out of the autopsy room and need to make a left toward that waiting room where the girl and boy are. We cant select anything near that direction that will move the robot toward the room. At this point we are stuck. Im unsure how to move as we can only move to a spot where something exists for us to look up. Any ideas?

It really is… We found it very difficult but we’ve been spoiled by recent adventure apps we guess. Very in depth. Reads like a novel. There seem to be a lot of modern (liberal/progressive?) details in this, which we suppose make sense as it’s in the future.

Please update to support new models.

We are never a fan of 8bit graphic games. But for this game, we hope it can be 10 times longer! Totally worth the money, the story was great, all the vocals are excellent(Thx Chantelle and Mr. Stepford) yall make us laugh out loud while we are playing the game! We barely write reviews for apps but for this game we feel like we have to. Do not hesitate if u like Cyberpunk! BUY IT!

As soon as we got the email that this game was available for iOS, we brought the game. For years all of the games we’ve played from Wadjet Eye have been Fantastic. So far the game story is very deep!

Easily one of the best adventure games we’ve ever played and probably the single best when it comes to the consideration of the story and characters alone. Im really blown away by this one and Im happy to say, as someone whos beaten it, that its glorious from beginning to end. That first set of puzzles…. In the opening part of the game? Genius.

We have not been disappointed with a Wadjet Eye game yet. Technobabylon is no exception. We havent finished it yet, but so far we are absolutely enthralled with this story. For a pixelated, retro, point-&-click adventure the graphics are quite nice and read really clean. The puzzles are intuitive, yet challenging. The solutions make sense, but require some thought. We’ve played the Blackwell games, and Gemini Rue, and this is every bit as good, but we think we like the cyberpunk feel of this one better than the others. Definitely worth the price. We plan to play all of Wadjet Eyes games eventually.

Another amazing game from the developer. Had to use on-line walk-throughs at times, but nonetheless one of the better games that the developer has made. Highly recommend.

If you grew up playing Kings Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest, etc., then you will enjoy this game. Good story with intertwined plots and fun but not too frustrating puzzles. Hats off to the developers for keeping this charming genre alive.

Rarely write reviews but this game has so much heart and care in its cold, cyberpunk future. Worth a play for anyone.

The opening sequence was excellent. Looking forward to the rest of the game.

So much detail. Amazing puzzles. Great voiceovers, music, storyline, character and scene movements. So many puzzles to solve. High play value and the puzzles enhance the story and make you think, and think you must. A True adventure game with tons of backstory too. Masterfully done.

A beautifully-rendered vision of the future; great characters and well thought-out puzzles. Was addicted after the first five minutes. Can’t wait for Technobabylon 2!

They always make amazing games. This one has a gripping story line, well established characters, twists, universe and etc. Some of the puzzles, although, are lacking hints so we had to look them up. As much as we like this well depicted dystopian universe, I’d like to see old comedic , witty games like Blackwell series.

We think this is a very well done game. Graphics are decent and so are the character voices. The storyline is very good and it provided us a lot of great playable time on some long flights we had to take. We do wish these games would provide a hint button or something when you get absolutely stuck. We do have to mention there is a glitch to the game and that is toward the end with the wrench. If the wrench is inserted in the elevator control panel and you start to go up and stop the elevator when the wall partially blocks the view of the elevator panel, you cannot take the wrench out and there is nothing you can do about it, other than to reload a previous scene and play all over again. This happened to us twice.

This is a modern day adventure game. What we mean by this is that it has a fantastic story, together with a moderate level of difficulty (90s adventure games were ludicrously hard) and very long play. Perfect.

We wish there was a better type of in game hint system besides the one they have. Doesn’t help us at all! Can’t even get out of our room in the first scene. Agh. We don’t want to have to leave the game to look at a walk through. On our way! Of us really need a good hint system to play these type of games. Graphics are good. Not sure how the rest of the game is because we can’t get out of the first room. We won’t give this game any less than 4 stars, because we can’t figure out what to do, just want a better help/hint system though. (I Don’t like it when others give lower stars because they personally have issues, and it’s not the game. ) Love the input the developers and the rest of gang did. Very interesting to see what or how things were made and what was taken out of the game. Please put a better hint system within the game. Like, if we were to click a ? It would tell us what our next move would be.. We really would like to finish this game. Thanks!

This was a really fun game with a story that kept us interested! We wished there was a bit more exploration of the virtual world aspect, but still a fun and well-made game!

Overall this game was incredible ( commentary is funny, too). But its annoying as every time a main character or the character your controlling leaves and enters a different room, the music gets choppy like it did when you leave the game…

Its obvious a lot of time and care went into Technobabylon, which makes it difficult for us to rate it. The puzzles are clever, voice acting is good, graphics are cool, and the music is pleasant. If you like reading text more than solving the puzzles, this is the game for you. For us, the text became tedious and boring. The font was hard to read and, combined with a lot of technobabble, we found myself fast clicking to get through it all. By the time we slogged through the dialogue, we didnt remember what our initial objective was. We also used a walkthrough to get us through the text, asap. Even then, there were still 12+ minutes of straight dialog. 07/14/19.

What’s with all the blatant racism?

The game itself is great and we were enjoying the story. But about halfway into the game, the inventory bar at the bottom of the screen just disappeared. We’ve tried restarting the game, going to a different location and the bar is just gone. We’ve emailed support but never received a response back. Unfortunately the game is unplayable for us.

No hints to help get out. Blah.

Went into settings and made sure speech and music was turned on but cannot hey Music to Work.
