The Eminence in Shadow RPG Review
Phone version of the game is riddled with bugs, but the PC version is bug and crash free. We were boycotting the game by withholding purchases because of the countless bugs and terrible pity system but started spending again now that the working PC version is out.
We actually really like this game especially ever since they fixed pvp now it feels a lot more competitive but they implemented a pay to win for 30 bucks and you instantly shoot up to level 52 currently there arent even players whove naturally reached that level aside from those who have money to spend. We were really hoping theyd fix their prices. Unfortunately anything worth buying in the game is still at 30 dollar range. They really took the word micro out of transaction.
The event wont play we’ve reloaded servers times but always crashes the game.
The positives – fun combat and good animations, good IP. The negatives – most of the power in the game comes from pulling units and duplicate units in the gacha. The gacha rates are supposed to be 3% for SSR (or 4.5% for SF banner), but the rates feel much lower than that. You can easily do hundreds of pulls without a single SSR. The pity system is terrible, you need to spend $666.66 worth of gems to guarantee one pity, and pity progress is wiped when the banner ends. They constantly add new units that completely power creep previous units. There are paid event stores every month that are not accessible to F2P. The developers do not give out very many gems, so you can save for months and never pull even one SSR unit or duplicate. Gems are also very expensive compared to other gacha games and feel like a bad value since the gacha rates and pity are so bad. They do not run deals often in the shop and the deals they do occasionally run are not good deals. You can spend HUNDREDS of $$ and literally get nothing. The developers are very slow to ban cheating guilds and hackers who take first place in events and rob honest players of better rewards. When the developers do FINALLY ban the cheaters there is no compensation for all the rewards they took from others. This game is published by Crunchyroll who have a reputation for poor management of mobile games which lead to them being cancelled. This game is the very definition of an IP cash grab, and the developer is already working on a new game (Danmachi) so they probably wont pay much attention to this one in the future. This game was announced to have a PC client when it released and 6 months later the global version still does not have a PC client. Stay away – you have been warned!
Just like rewatching the anime but with fun gameplay.
We often skip the story for battle. We didnt here and Im glad. The text is black for some reason so forgive typos.
After the anime and manga, we came to the game for the story. Stayed for the story and the gameplay. A+
Im really engaged with everything in this game. We cant wait for the next anime season.
This game is amazing Its just like the anime. Love the graphics, the feel, the handle5 stars all around.
Whatd be more amazing is if the game stopped crashing every few minutes.
We like a lot of things about this game. Especially the comedy in story. However bugs and glitches are numerous. Do purge them and optimize the gameplay.
The game play is fun if you can get to play the game often times when you try to go into a mission or click on the rewards for completing tasks the game would crash preventing you from claiming anything no matter how much you open it.
Great game but app keeps crashing after the start up.
We just downloaded the game and it wont let be do anything. We touch the screen where it says tap to start and it will say loading and then it wont load and leave us on main screen where it says tap to start. All we wanna do is play this so please someone or the developer s help us out.
This is really a good game the updates are good they are getting better than how it is was in the beginning for the game Some things we would to point out that we wish to offer that could hopefully one day be added into the game is an increase in gains for the gems to summon characters because 2800 is pretty grindy too do before an event could ever start and we would get only 1 or 2 10 time summon and another would be to the number of attempts for the daily challenges to at the max of 5 because 2 is too little.
A bit unbalanced and slower progressing than other games like it but fun.
The odds of pulling an SSR unit is 3% per pull. There are no guarantees of for the event banners. And at 300 gems a pull, its about $3 per pull to get a 1.3% chance of getting the unit youre actually pulling for. And forget about maxing them out, which youll need to pull them several times to do. If you just want to have that unit in your collection, look forward to spending about $200-$300 a month during the events. Maybe you can cut that in half if youre spending your free gems along with them. The game is fun and the units look great, but the draw rates are completely unreasonable.

We dont usually write reviews but Ill make an exception here. First. The game is wayyyy to big. 18.21 Gigabytes is terribly obnoxious. We get that its a 3D game and that there are voiced scenes but an option to remove those files once the cutscene has been watched might help cut down on that. Its honestly the biggest reason we uninstalled, since almost every update was demanding so much space. Second. What are these summon rates? FGO, which has a much, much larger pool to summon from has better drop rates. We can do five 10x pulls and not get a single SS. This leads into the third point too. Third. We hope you have a big wallet because getting the currency for summons takes what feels like months for a single 10x. 2800 crystals itself is a pretty high bar from what we’ve seen too. And the pricing for a single pull being almost 40 dollars is a big killer, especially with the drop rates. We want to like this game. We enjoyed the anime and light novels. But there are so many glaring issues here. If the game makes it to PC somehow, Id give it another shot but with how it is now, its not keeping us here.
Why does the game crash so much frequently? Is it a bug or something?
Please help fix this :( its been crashing non stop ever since the casino update. We really want to play the game.
Great game just the bugs when we pick zeta as our character for the home page it kicked us out and now we cant even log back in.
Another you can only can get so far before you have to pay to advance. Lame.
After we finished downloading the starting stuff it took us to a loading screen and it just stays stuck there and doesnt let us move on we dont know what to do we want to play this game but it doesnt let me.
Found out it was taking up 14gb of storage after a few months of playing. Super long loading screens, and paywalls. Not worth it tbh, love the anime though.
We love the show honestly but the game just isnt playable for us cause it freezes or makes the screen go black during the cutscene that introduces alpha in 1-2.
Recovery time takes too long and is too slow.
The stamina limit gets tedious, as you cant even spend money to over come running out of stamina and it takes forever to recover. It also requires much more stamina to increase character power as you move up the ranks of characters, which is fine but it can take 300 stamina shadow skipping to get 1-2 items for 1 character needing bronze or silver items. Otherwise, game is a lot of fun despite the challenges.
Arena feels like its full of bots and doesnt recycle enemies we fight the same team 5x a day. Microtransaction deals are way overpriced and their special event packs are unappealing. We were actually interested in spending money on this game but their offers and benefits are extremely underwhelming. Not spendings 5$ for 4 summons which could potentially just be a resummom bc all Id get it is a crystal Even the event deals are uninteresting. We liked the concept of unlocking a special store to earn more exclusive event goods but the store had little to offer for 20 dollars.
It never loaded us into the game.
Really love the art style and game mechanics. One of our favorite shows. However the app is not stable enough for us to make purchases. After every update seems that crashes more. Already reinstalled 3 times but doesnt help.
We downloaded this game to play and every time we get to the Home Screen it force stop and kick us off the game.
The download is long but the story is well worth the wait. Looks to be a fun game, and so far we cant lie it is.
We LOVED the show and had seen this game occasionally but never downloaded it. Sadly when we first got it too we had a game breaking bug and had to erase our account. The support team was wonderful and even though it took some time we were MORE than compensated what we were expecting. The game is a grind once you hit mid/late game. But if you dont mind it then we think its great. It can easily become expensive if you wanna pay for gems. But the free ones come in droves so we havent felt it critical to buy a ton. Granted we have spent money on the game, however, its only because we want to show our support to the show, the creators, and pay for a game we think is worth our money. Thank you again support team for being so awesome to us!!

Ok so recently we left only 2 stars on this review explaining how the game would kick us out every time we start it, but the issue was resolved when we did a clean download data on the game and now we can continue where we left off. So now we’re leaving 5 stars because of how great the game is, especially the anime opening of the game, very well done. We don’t want the same thing that happened to us happen to other players that are interested in this, so please have this issue fixed as soon as possible. Thnk u.
The animation on this game is amazing for a mobile game and it is very interactive.
The art is amazing and overall game play is fun.
