The Enchanted Cave is a Puzzle/Roleplaying game from Dustin Auxier, first launched in 24th January 2014.
It’s rated 9+ and currently has 19+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes The Enchanted Cave Stand Out

Enter the Enchanted Cave, collecting artifacts, stat gems and gold as you fight to reach floor 100! Use the Escape Wings to teleport out and recover, then head back in with powerful artifacts to delve deeper into the cave each time.

Improvements from the flash game:

  • User interface completely redone for small touchscreens.
  • Tap to move where you want to go with smart pathfinding – you won't walk into a monster unless you tap their exact square.
  • Fast-find an item in your inventory by tapping it when you open a chest.
  • A "Sell Junk" button in the shop to quickly sell all of your non-artifact, non-potion old equipment.
  • Damage and Magic formulas simplified and re-balanced (Attack magic is useful now!).
  • Magic window to allow you quickly cast a spell without opening your inventory.
  • Potions window to quickly use potions without opening your inventory.
  • Saving can be anywhere in the cave to be picked up later. Auto saves each floor.
  • Walk on empty gold bags.
  • Low-life warning.
  • New title screen.
  • Higher stairs contrast.
  • Faster movement.

Community Insight:

Worth the 99 cents in our opinion. We remember playing this when it was just a flash game. Having to tap on each square to go to it is a little clunky, but the game itself is great.

A great and fun game, good for what it is and worth the price. Definitely buying the sequel.

This game is very well thought out and is very fun! We purchased this after playing The Enchanted Cave 2, which is is even better! KUDOS to the dev! The Enchanted Cave 3 PLEASE.

The concept behind this game is very simple, but don't let that fool you. There's quite a bit of strategizing to be had, more so as you progress. We lost twice to the final challenge, but learned our lesson, came properly prepared and emerged victorious the third time. Don't forget you can inspect monsters without fighting, and change gear prior to combat to reduce lost HP. The artifacts are quite varied, and open up many more options. Best of all, it's quite satisfying to one-hit kill a monster that used to give you so much trouble before. Great game.

The Enchanted Cave is a good game but falls short to its more polished sequel that includes story elements, skill trees, and crafting. If you are looking for a game to pass the time or got tired of the sequel, The Enchanted Cave will offer hours of gameplay.

We love playing this game!!! Earned a permanent spot on our iPhone! This game is one of the best games in the App Store.

10 / 10 Like Skyrim with swords.

We played this game and loved it, however there is one problem-the titanium gear, which should be the best, isn't actually very good because it doesn't have elemental resistances, which help so much more than normal defense, and which you can't raise without gear. Other than that it's a fantastic, if simple game, so 5 stars. We highly recommend it.

It's a great roguelike. What more needs to be said? The game was fun on Kongregate, and it suffered no losses in its port; the controls and performance are great. We cannot wait to see the excellent sequel ported to mobile devices, as well.

Short but really fun! Can't wait for ec2.

We played enchanted cave 2 first. We wanted to play it on our phone but we saw only the first ec was in the App Store. We bought it anyway. We can't wait for the second one to be made into an app! Great game. Took us about a week to complete.

BEST GAME EVER we beat this game 1 times almost a second. And we can't wait for enchanted cave 2 to come out….. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS GAME!!!!!! Ps we highly recommend getting this game.

We continue to complete and restart this game from the beginning. Even after all of this time it holds our interest! Great job.

Played this before it was an app. Even better on the iPhone and addicting till the end.

Very well polished game. One of our favorite rougelikes. Can't wait for The Enchanted Cave 2.

Great port of a kongregate favorite with interface and convenience improvements.

We're a supporter of enchanted cave and enchanted cave two. We're really looking forward to any new dungeons or updates.

Loved it on Kongregate; love it on our iPhone. Satisfies the treasure hunter in us.

At first we were a little skeptic about this game, 2 hours of staring at our iPod later and we realized we love this game! The animations and graphics are both beautiful and funny. And being able to keep "artifacts" makes it easier to restart on higher floors, which keeps us playing. We'd give this game 10 stars if we could and have already recommended it to friends :).

Love it! Definently one of our favorites.

Loved the online version so it might as well be on our phone.

The game is quite simple, but nothing was explained, so had to figure some things out with trial and error. But maybe that was the point. Excited to hear that a sequel is coming (kickstarter). Also, there is an iPad version of this game by another developer? Not sure if that is legit or a rip off.

We never take time to write a review. Ever. But for this game we could take hours describing what is so great about it. Basically overall it's the funniest most entertaining game we have ever played. We first played this game on kongregate like five years ago. And ever since we have been waiting for it to appear on the App Store. And we finally found it. We are so very happy. Thank you so much for this wonderful game.

Nice mobile reincarnation of a classic from armor games 10/10.

Game kept crashing on level 20 last night, hadn't before. Deleted app and re downloaded then got an update and keeps crashing.

Great concept, loving it. Update: been playing for a few weeks and like it even more. It has an addictive RPG like quality.

Good fun addicting game! But why can't we use magic.

Gets tricky midway through, but the game is beatable within a day.

And extremely addicting, just what we wanted.

Awesome, we love this game. So addicting.

Fun game but has some issues that need addressing: – microphone access? In your dreams… – balance issues in later levels–vast majority of enemies are underpowered while certain few (vampire, baby dragon) are game-endingly overpowered. – can't actually cast any spells, though they're in the menu.

We remember playing this in high school, probably one of our favorite flash games. Once we realized this was the same game, we bought it immediately. Already down to floor 20 and we're still having a blast.

The best rogue type game we have played. Looking forward to the next part.

This is probably the first rouge-like game we ever played, granted that wasn't very long ago, but we still enjoy it. What you are buying is a sort of resource management game. Most of the game's flow involves diving down a dungeon's multiple floors until you almost die and then warping back to the entrance to make all your upgrades permanent. This game may be considered too easy, but that's because it is depending on how you play it. The highest tension moments come when you are low on health and deep in dungeon, wondering if you should teleport out or try for another stat upgrade or artifact and risk losing everything you from that run.

Great design and it's fun tapping our way through each level. Reminds us of old school super nintendo games. This is how we'll be spending the next few hours. PLUS, once you buy it, it doesn't force you to buy more stuff to beat the game. Respect.
