![]()
Thimbleweed Park is a Entertainment/Adventure/Puzzle game from Terrible Toybox, Inc., first launched in 18th September 2017.
It’s rated 12+ and currently has 830+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes Thimbleweed Park Stand Out
A brand new adventure game from Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick, creators of the classics Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion! Play as five characters to uncover the surreal mystery of Thimbleweed Park — a town where a dead body is the least of your problems.
A haunted hotel, an abandoned circus, a burnt-out pillow factory, a dead body pixelating under the bridge, toilets that run on vacuum tubes… you’ve never visited a place like Thimbleweed Park before.
Five people with nothing in common have been drawn to this rundown, forgotten town. They don’t know it yet, but they are all deeply connected. And they’re being watched.
…Who is Agent Ray really working for and will she get what they want?
…What does Junior Agent Reyes know about a 20 year old factory fire that he’s not saying?
…Will the ghost, Franklin, get to speak to his daughter again?
…Will Ransome the Beeping Clown ever become a decent human being?
…Will aspiring game developer Delores abandon her dreams and stick by her family?
…And most importantly: how come no one cares about that dead body?
By the end of a long, strange night in Thimbleweed Park, all of this will be answered — and you’ll question everything you thought you knew.
In a town like Thimbleweed Park, a dead body is the least of your problems.

Community Insight:
This game was fricken amazing absolutely iconic. We seriously need more series of this. And MORE games like this. When will you guys be making more.
This is an excellent P&C Adventure. Gives all of the vibes of a classic SCUMM game including character swapping like DOTT. Truly well done.
One of the few games that brought back the authentic feel of playing LucasArts games in the 80s and 90s. We dont wonder if Ron might be having an existential crisis though lol. We cant say much than unfortunately the ending was disappointing for us. We still hope Ron has some more games coming in the future.
This game is fantastic for all! With 2 modes of difficulty(Highly suggest the more difficult of the two)and tons of fantastic retro story telling with modern pixelated graphics that smack you in the face with joy if you enjoyed the old Lucasfilm games. Excellent puzzles. Some of them were frustrating with how simple the answer is so we suggest exhausting options before choosing to use a hint which are free to use at any point in the game. This game rocked ! And we had to write a review after completing it for the first time( because yes we intend to collect every last pixelated dust!) and say Ty by leaving a generous review.Cannot wait for the Delores sequel to come to IOs! Please make it happen.
If you love escape room or solving mysteries using logic and information you gather, youre going to love this game.
We first played this game several years ago and am just now revisiting it. Such a good storyline. Haunting, really. Good puzzles.
This game brought back the point and click puzzle games of our youth. Its not Monkey Island, but it has the same wit and charm. Great game.
This game is absolutely fantastic.
We rarely review games, but this deserves a shout-out. One of our favorite games ever! A perfect point & click – challenging but achievable. Love the retro look.
Cant say enough good things. We loved it. 10 hours of play. Difficult at times, but just the right amount to stay engaged, and always hints available if needed.
Will play again..:) "Oxenfree" "Broken Age" and "lost echo" are mainstays one our devices and this on par! You play many characters… The era is fun, before our time which makes it even better, so many "extras" to do! The fact that we have option to read every book in library even if it doesn't add to plot is really fun:) Truly a mystery with characters you love or hate. Def recommend! Thanks for a great game devs…it's like being inside a deranged version of X-files! Awesome:).
We backed this game in Kickstarted two years ago and followed its development process until release. We played it first on the Mac and loved it, but must admit that the iPad version is the definitive edition. This game is just perfectly made for tablet gaming! The interface is very intuitive; the story funny, interesting, and compelling; and the characters very well realized, with brilliant voice acting. Thimbleweed Park is a small town where some strange things have been going on for years. Ever since it's famous fully-automated Pillow Factory burned down, the town had been going downhill — yet people living there seem to love it and fall over themselves to praise the reclusive and strange pillow magnate. You start the game playing a couple of FBI agents who arrive to investigate a murdered body found by the river. Soon it becomes clear that different motives have brought them to town. As you investigate the murder and get deeper into the story of the town and its people, you realize that the dead body is the least of your problems! A big conspiracy unravels and you are deep in the middle of it! "Thimbleweed Park" is modeled after classic "Point-and-Click" adventure games like "Day Of The Tentacle," "Maniac Mansion," and "The Secret Of Monkey Island," yet it is a game like no other. The puzzles are intricate, very logical, and always interesting. It includes a "Casual Mode," aimed at beginners or casual gamers, which trims down the difficulty of some of the deeper puzzle chains without cutting any of the story or character arcs. Plus, it offers a spoiler-free, in-game hint "hotline" that is masterfully incorporated into the game, to aid the novice and seasoned adventurer alike. Brilliant! DZ.
Ron Gilbert and the entire team knocked it out of the park with Thimbleweed Park. The story, voice acting, 4th wall breakage, self-deprecating humor, art style, difficulty modes, challenge, and the pure joy that you get from playing this game are all incredible. Not only did it take us back to our golden era of PC gaming, but it improved upon it and let us play it right on our phone! Absolutely buy this game if you want a truly wonderful adventure game. The only issue we have with this game is that its not optimized to be full screen on newer iPhones so you will get letterboxing on the left and right sides. That doesnt make it any less fun or less functional. It works wonderfully. We just did our second play through on an iPhone 12 Pro and never had one crash well, we did encounter one NPE ;-).
We will pay money for gems like this pls make a sequel.
We have never reviewed anything in our life, and Im 43 years old. This game is the best point and click game we have ever played. If you like point and click adventures, buy this game. Its fantastic. 10 out of 10. Im sad we finally beat it.
When we were 10 or so we found an NES copy of Maniac Mansion at a video rental store. It was in a clearance bin full of not great game titles. We had never heard of Lucas Games or MM. The art on the cartridge won us over though and we added the cartridge to our inventory and quickly teleported home to play it. To make a boring story short, it blew our mind in a way no other game could. The overall concept, story, music, and setting made our imagination go technicolor. Thimbleweed Park manages to capture those same feelings and spread them over a small but interesting town not unlike the one we grew up in. We guess what we're saying is that the bleep heads who made Thimbleweed Park are great a-reno. The end.
Amazing really reminded us of playing grim fandango remastered. Great game.
Totally loved it! Very similar to Sierra games (Liesure Suit Larry, Police Quest, Space Quest which we wish were on iOS!). If you loved those games growing up, youll love Thimbleweed Park.
As a fan of 80s and 90s point and click adventure games, this checks all the boxes. Humor, challenge, immersion, character development.
We love this game so much omg. There is nothing else like it and it's so sad to us. We LOVE THIS GAME.
We dont normally write reviews but this game is one of our all-time new classic adventure game favorites by the AMAZING Ron Gilbert. Hes a genius and Ive loved the games hes helped to program/develop since we were much younger. Thimbleweed Park has awesome, nostalgic pixel graphics; good, fun gameplay; witty characters; great puzzles; and its even a pretty long game to boot. It is COMPLETELY worth the price, and Im salivating at the hopeful prospect of more (that sounds gross). But we are. And this was more than great. If we could give it 6 stars, we easily would.
Magnificent! Took us 12 hours to solve cheating a lot. The music, the humor.. Im just completely blown away. The best Mucasflim game of them all. Classic characters youll never forget. We need a pixel perfect cold cast Ransom statue. A huge one. At least a plastic figure that insults everyone. Do not get real jobs! Make more games like this.
We just started playing but this brings us right back to the old Monkey Island days! The graphics and Audio are top notch and the game play is amazing with that old rustic feel. We hope they more of these.
A great classic game from some of the masters of the genre. We have t beaten it yet but a good way through. There are some quite challenging puzzles in a couple of areas or at least we got stuck, lol. Its imaging how pixel art can feel so fresh.
We grew up playing point and click adventure games. They are still our favorite to play. Please continue to make these.
If you liked Zombies Ate our Neighbors then this will really hit you in the heart. From the jokes, to the pop culture and vernacular references, we feel like this game was made for us! We genuinely laughed and had a wonderful time playing this. Its got nicely challenging puzzles and things to figure out. The different character storylines were interesting. It has a few cool little twists in it, and the entire adventure game experience of it all was well worth the price. Its really exceptional. Well done.
This game is brilliant! Details and storyline are flawless! Great job developers!! Totally worth the money.
This game is amazing!!! The creator deserves a round of applause for this one.
Beautiful new game from the likes of day of the tentacle and monkey island. So good. Thanks for this awesome adventure.
At first intriguing and then profound! Great use of multiple characters in the puzzle solving, the phone use is clever and even the hint system is fun! Well worth your time.
Crave more adventure game. Give us more.
The game never requested a rating at any point, and we never go out of our way to review anything, but we were so impressed by this we had to leave a rating. We put 7 hours into it on casual, and loved it. Hoping more games like this come out.
Just wish that this developer would make more games. We cant get enough.
We had a lot of fun with this game, we have not enjoyed a game as much as we did this one in idk how long. Its very well thought out and put together, we highly recommend this game. We really really want a part 2 of it, please consider making part 2 Ill back you on kickstarter!!! Thank you.
Best game ever! Soooo many hours of gameplay and engaging story (we usually skip the story).
Loved it! Super long game, we played it for days. Only issue was sound sometimes cut out during character dialogue.
So witty, and so good. An unparalleled adventure game experience for our iPhone but the best part was the originality of the writing. So glad we played even though we were terrible at hard mode.
This game was so good.. We couldnt stop playing for the week it took us to beat the game. We used to play Lucas Arts games like Monkey Island, Sam and Max, and Day of the Tentacle in our childhood so this brought back all the good feels. We loved the pixelated retro look! The game was funny, complex, interesting… We will probably play it again in a year when Ive forgotten how to beat it. Until then… Developers, please make another similar game. We need more games like this in the world.
Im so obsessed with this game! It was seriously amazing. We loved the gameplay and the characters and the storyline! Really interested in more games like this one.
Thank god these guys made another game! Encore.
This title brought us back to our youth. We grew up playing Kings Quest and have fond memories of buying a new computer just to play the newest Sierra game. We have played every title we could get our hands on from Adventure to this one. We were hooked the second we saw the game mechanics where there are any number of interactions and choices for the characters. This makes the game so much more challenging and fun. The game is large and worth the price and we thought the story was excellent. Developer high five for the secret decoder hint book and all of the other classic easter eggs.
This game is awesome. Probably the best on iOS. Its got hours of gameplay and many throwbacks to Maniac Mansion.
Playing this game brought back a whole lot of memories. It was funny, had twists, and involved great character development. We hope the team behind it makes more games.
We loved the Lucas Arts point and click games growing up and this one takes it all to the next level!! Really brings back that feeling of mystery and excitement! Thank you for making this! More please.
Im giving this a five star rating for a number of reasons but mainly, we suppose, because of the experimentation with a postmodern story line in a point-and-click adventure. Really, it was a bold move. The story, as its lain out in the beginning, is pretty good. Its based on an old archetype: a Murder is committed in a small, dried up town, and an innocent riffraff is eventually accused. Then, the story, characteristically of a postmodern venture, fragments into an a dreamlike spectacle concerning the nature of reality. The ultimate outcome of the story (Spoiler ahead): it doesnt matter neither who killed the hapless victim nor that an innocent man was accused; the inherent meaninglessness of life and the thinly veiled illusion of free will render all aspects of existence, at least in the video game world, inconsequential. If youre into post-modern literature, youll probably love this game.
Wow, awesome! We loved maniac mansion so we were excited to try this. It doesnt disappoint. Amazing game, please make another game just like this in the future! (we challenge anyone to beat this game without using any in-game hints, we couldnt do it and we bet you cant either!) Thanks to all the developers.
The first time you play, use casual mode. That way you can play a second time in advanced mode. Advanced mode gives you more puzzles. It also gives you time to notice details (ex: when Ransome walks in his trailer, the trailer rocks). So much fun! Why dont you make more games?!?!? Id pay twice as much and play every one. Monkey Island is the only game we ever played more than twice. Please make more. Please! 6/7/19.
Fun and entertaining in the best way! Thank you for such an amazing game. Love the hint system too as it allows you to enjoy the game when you want to progress. Keep up the amazing work.
We rarely write reviews, but this game is great. It doesnt take itself too seriously like most adventure game apps, but it still contains interesting depths.
Superb ! Great gameplay, hours and hours and hours of fun. A clever and deep story with fantastic characters and a nod to all the great aspects of classic games.
