In This War Of Mine you do not play as an elite soldier, rather a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger from snipers and hostile scavengers. The game provides an experience of war seen from an entirely new angle.
The pace of This War of Mine is imposed by the day and night cycle. During the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your refuge, so you need to focus on maintaining your hideout: crafting, trading and taking care of your survivors. At night, take one of your civilians on a mission to scavenge through a set of unique locations for items that will help you stay alive.
Make life-and-death decisions driven by your conscience. Try to protect everybody from your shelter or sacrifice some of them for longer-term survival. During war, there are no good or bad decisions; there is only survival. The sooner you realize that, the better.
This War of Mine: Anniversary Edition
It's been two years since This War of Mine global release and we're still expanding the experience. This new free DLC, created especially for the Anniversary Edition, adds new characters, new locations to explore, and most importantly – a whole new ending, leading to a different outcome to the game. We were a little hesitant to get into this game, but now we cant put it down.
So lets not sugarcoat this; right off the bat after installing the game, we had noticed some drastic changes, no custom stories, and limited selections to stories. We understand that mod support for IOS is vastly different so we would be cherry picking at this point, but the biggest issues rely on the fact that you cannot do custom stories. By now, 11Bit, you have already added that to the PC version of TWOM, so why could we not add it to IOS Version? Seems kind of – well – l a z y. Do not get us wrong, the rating Ive given this game at a four star is genuine, aside from the fact you cannot create a custom story it is by far all around TWOM, controls feel wonky at times but you tend you get use to the mechanics with using your fingers as oppose to M&K.
We absolutely love this game, and if you've never played it and have no way to get it on PC, we do recommend it. However, having only the option of pre-set scenarios and no options for choosing starting characters, amount of days, etc. Means you miss out on a lot. The challenge doesn't last long, once you've got the basic mechanics down it's easy to complete the scenarios (even while doing all good/empathetic choices). A lot of the character's stories aren't playable to the end; their journal entries get cut off because there aren't enough days in the scenario. As it is, we could never recommend this to someone who has the option to play it on PC. But it's such a fantastic concept and game, we'd really love if the developers could bring some level of customization to it (even just choosing the amount of days would make a difference!).
It would be 5, but having some occasional crashing issues that need fixing.
Always liked this game. The only thing is, does the game not have controller support? Id like to be able to use a controller the way we would on a console. Rather than that, still really fun.
Why is the game's aspect ratio incorrect on the iPhone 17 Pro? Wasn't it already adapted for the 16 Pro? It should naturally fit the 17 Pro's ratio as well.
Great game. However with only 25-45 days often finding the game feels cut short.
This game was good until we tried to play it on our iPhone 16e the ratio is messed up and we wanna play it again but we cant see it theres a pink bar on the right side of the screen.
We love this game ben playing it for a while now and it got to where we cant open the game anymore id tap on it and it show a black screen for half a second then turn off like we never opened it.
It's a fantastic game series. After exhausting all possible storylines and endings within the game, we haven't found a comparable alternative to move onto. Please expand the series/content for iPhone users. :).
They should add some mods to mobile as well, same as pc Otherwise great experience, 10/10.

This game is amazing. Im so hooked, we play every single day for hours. But we do have some suggestions. After youve unlocked all the character groups the last one should let you pick a group of 3 survivors. Id like to be able to play with our favorite characters so we can run our strategy correctly. Also would be cool if you could extend the time a little, we can never get our base fully upgraded by the final day. Id also pay to be able to send 2 people as scavengers, would be a good in game purchase.
Its one of the best games we ever pkayed,only thing that would make it more realistic and brutal would be to let you also if you choose kill your roommates to save inventory for yourself.make it an option to gonphycopath.
Been playing TWOM off and on since it was released years ago. Made it all the way through and saved a group of four civilians once! A single win! Probably the greatest Win Buzz of any game Ive ever played. Get it, play it, then go out and read every tip/hint you can find then play again.
Been playing this game for over a decade and its still one of our favorite games. Its timeless for sure. Console or on phone. Give it a shot. Takes some time learning the ins and outs but its rewarding. Our tip for beginners is find a production niche at your home base to start. Advance that so you can trade. Whether its tools or guns/weapons, food, or alcohol. Build up one of those systems then slowly expand and trade in the meantime.
It is a really good game for us. But it has no theme and item update anymore. Please make it update onlineAnd… Is there anyway to set the Connection between other players in a round(Playing with NPC is boring).
Its really fun, good story, and can replay again. We want more DC or war of ours 2.
This game is fun but we cant use our backbone on the iPhone version.
We love this game! The only things we would change is for us to be able to use our time at night when we go home early in the night. That and be able to save the game periodically. We love this game.

This is a great game; however on the iphone 16 plus, there is a pink screen bar on the right side that wont go away. It flashes too. Hope they fix this.
We love this game but is not playable on the newest iPhone. The reason being part of the screen is just not working. We mean that you can see the screen except the right side. Is there any way to fix that issue.
As the title says it wont view correctly on the iPhone 16 series until they do. Amazing game otherwise.
We love this game a lot but recently that we got the iPhone 16 a pink screen has been appearing next to the game and its very difficult to play with it showing hope it gets fixed very soon.
This is a very fun game when it works. See the problem here? It was fun until we couldnt play it anymore because it keeps crashing when we tried to open the game. We dont know why it happened, but this is our first paid game that does this. We have paid for many games and none of them ever stopped working. We have no confidence that the devs will fix this considering that they have not made any significant updates over the years. It was fun while it lasted. 1 star. Edit: our refund was denied so we were stuck with this app. We managed to fix the issue by following these steps: 1. Uninstall the app 2. Restarting the iphone 3. Reinstall the app from the app store 4. Restarting the iphone again 5. Launch the game This was a long process just to play a game. Please fix this bug so no one has to go through this again.
Cant play because the game needs a ratio update for the 16 pro max.

Game pretty much plays like console and pc- but its still missing controller support! Cmon 11bit! Youve already done it on pc and console.
Boring and tedious. Its tolerable if you are fine with skill not being a factor in surviving.
We love this game!! However when we installed it on our iPhone 16 pro max come to find out when we run the game that pink screen shows up and disturbs us to the point where we cant play it.

We bought this game in 2014 in steam and after we got it in EpicGames on PC. Then, we bought it on iOS and its almost the same feelings! This game is unique! Fantastic atmosphere of war. Story feeling similar like tragedy in Sarajevo in 90s. Recommending.
Decided to download to our phone after years playing this game. Aside from more freezes and crashes, its got one main issue that bugs us: if you pause the game and your phone sleeps, the game most likely closes, meaning any daytime progress you made needs to be repeated. Its a real drag, and doesnt do this on ipad, no matter what app/refresh settings we select otherwise, its well made, very addictive, and a mainstay time killer.
Hello, have you ever wanted to play a game where, trapped in a city full of bombings and war, you struggle, try, and fail to provide food, supplies, and bandages for when your characters inevitably get wounded from constant attacks on their home? This is the game for you. In all seriousness this game is great. You have to develop a strategy or die. Looting buildings can either be rewarding or not so rewarding. Stockpiling is important. Choosing who to guard your shelter could be the difference between life and death. Depressing events will leave your characters crying and sobbing all night, encouraging good deeds when you dont have anything to give. When you feel that you are living happy and healthy, with everyone somehow content (and if you have the DLC, the child fed and happy with lots of toys to play with and attention at all angles), one thing could go wrong and turn Into a downward spiral. Has a crap ton of replay value, and each character has their own perks for survival. Its a masterpiece of storytelling, and Im not making that up. It has detailed character stories, and even short conversations between NPCs say all you would want to know.
We just wish it had custom storys and characters.
The best mobile games for this money. But in iPad better.

So soon, It make us bored and lacked. (Very important matter) Second, It have some errors. Ex) If we fight with soldiers in construction area, we can't do anything on account of errors! 2022 update: The uncontrollable characters bug and the talk bubble bug are still there after all this time. Two-year anniversary update: This update adds free content, and possibly (we haven't confirmed) fixes the disappearing character bug in the 4+1 scenario, but some of the basic, oldest bugs remain. After two years, we would have expected a fix. It's a little ludicrous to complain about a free update, but we would really rather see a bug fix update before a content update. Still an amazing game! Original review: This is a five-star game (one star deducted for non-trivial bugs). YOU SHOULD GET IT. It's tragic and depressing, and yet somehow it manages to be fun as well. We can't stop playing, and we've already "survived" every scenario. Elements of strategy, ruthlessness, and kindness. You have to make tough choices. The art is amazing look for the little touches. Zoom in to examine the scenes and characters closely you might be surprised at what you find. Unlike some other reviewers, we like the game-save system. The downsides: Not quite enough randomness after beating it once. Each building really only has two variants "danger" and "caution", and after playing once you know how to approch both. Also, there are bugs, and yet to us the game itself is worth suffering though them. A crash bug (out of memory?), a bug in the UI where characters (who are not "broken") cannot be controlled, a bug in the UI where speech bubbles appear above characters but no one can speak to them, a bug in the UI where two-finger touch control is lost (one-finger zoom, somehow), and a bug where a ghost seems to perform actions, e.g. "[blank] did [thing]".
Great game. We used to play it back in the day, however It does not work on the iPhone 15. About a quarter of the screen on the bottom of the phone flashes back and forth from pink to black, making the game very uncomfortable to play. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.
