Hear from the Players – Tone Sphere Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about Tone Sphere:

This game is amazing! It makes us sad to see that people are giving it bad reviews because it deserves better. It is easy and fun, and the songs are great, and on Apple Music. We really like WRLDS and Afterdark and Tiferet is really good. There is a paid mode, but it really doesnt bother us because we can do what we need without ads or stopping to pay. Just get it. Please!

We’ve been playing this game for a few days now and its probably one of our favorite games now! The art is beautiful, theres a huge variety of music, and the gameplay and bgas are really creative and unique. But there had been one thing thats been bothering us. The pause button: there isnt one. We dont really get why you cant pause the game, and the current exit button is really hard to use. Its very unresponsive and the triple-tap is a great idea, but it rarely works. Other than that, the touch is a bit unresponsive (even when turning off 3D touch like one of the tips says) and the results screen is silent which is a bit unsettling. But aside from those three minor pet peeves, this game is beautiful and deserves so much more recognition for how amazing it is!

We have only played the game one time, and thats because 99% of the time we open the app and it just freezes our iPad even though we can hear the music and stuff. We have the newest iPad and its fully updated. Everything else in our iPad works except for this game. Why is that?

We were thinking of getting this when we first saw it on the Collab with Arcaea. Now that we’ve played it its so good.

We’ve owned this for a long time and Im glad to see it back, but the overlapping tap targets are irritating. When compared to a lot of the music games we see on the App Store, this still probably beats them senseless. The music is anything and everything … All with an unmistakable Asian flare. That doesnt mean its better or worse, its just different. Speaking of music, there is a lot of it! There are so many levels and challenges we cant see how you can go wrong with this one … Well, unless your tap targets overlap one another. :-)

5’s all day long, playing for years and absolutely LOVE iT!!!, but for some reason we are unable to download the newest update with the new cloud save fuction and new content.

And it’s a good one. The new Darksphere music is pleasantly energetic, the background animations for the new song levels look even better than the older ones, and the note maps are satisfyingly tricky on the XXXL course. Also, we haven’t quite played long enough to be sure yet, but we believe the stuck input bug has been fixed in this update. We’ll update this review if we encounter it again. Edit: The bug occasionally still does seem to occur, unfortunately.

Real gem in the rough. Tone sphere is a unique and interesting take on the standard rhythm game. With good songs, novel gameplay, and cool design, this game is definitely worth trying.

The new released ‘dark sphere’ is pure wonder and well worth the wait. We like the song ‘Astra walk through’ in particular.

Super stupid addicting. Be careful because you will lose hours of your life playing this game.

Phenomenal systems, great soundtrack, clever use of syncopation, swipe and multitouch mechanics well implemented and non gimmicky, and a gentle but very very long difficulty curve. Id recommend this game to any rhythm fan.

Good music, good maps, autoplay option makes us happy. Try typing in "sidesphere" as your online username in-game to play in landscape mode.

The value you get is so good compared to other "free" rhythm games on iOS. Everything feels fantastic and there are quite a few innovative mechanics. (Angle notes and such) It’s a game on par with Cytus and Deemo, so that’s pretty noteworthy. Music is incredible. The only problem is the heat. Phones don’t like 3D. Anyways, you should give it a try.

Visually this game is a feast. The soundtrack is beautifully balanced. Buy this game.

Incredibly fun and addicting. We’ve had no problem with lag or crashes. Not as big of a song selection as other music games, but all the tracks are really good and you don’t have to spend extra money on more song packs.

The mechanics are simple to learn with plenty of challenge. Though the star of Tone Sphere is the stellar soundtrack. Can’t get enough of it.

We walked into the purchase supporting the release as an indie game project. We see the game now as an innovative and new take on the music game genre. This stands alone! Some one compared this to osu, another music game. We loved the movement of the pads. They captured a sense of the music in the way each level plays. As a musician of 10+ years, and a lover of music games, this is highly recommended!

Great that new content are available. Though, the new songs, especially the faster paced ones, are a bit too much for the 1st gen iPad to process. Graphics tend to be sluggish. We gonna upgrade our iPad.

Wonderful update to what was already one of the app store’s secret treasures. Kudos Sta!

We lOVE THIS GAME. Good Hitting, good music, great things like that in the background geometry. When shaving a little dizzy; but it seems to be familiar with (can be awkward to translate Korean into Google Translator)

Can’t wait for the new update… More new songs plz!!

We LOVE IT!! Best rhythm game we played!! Good song n music too :3.

Cool game! The rhymth it’s on us!

If you like partial techno, dance, trance, and house, along with anime songs and different stuff like that, as well as DDR, and Tap Tap Revenge, then get it. Bottom line, the game is amazing. Plenty of fun, one of our favorites. We don’t say it lightly.

The title says it all. Definitely our favorite rhythm game, and in our mind, surpassing Cytus and Osu and Beat Agents (not by much, mind. Those are amazing games, as well). This sleek, simplistic rhythm game provides a great, well-ranged list of songs (with no DLC purchases needed) of varying genres. The difficulty is steady, with no abrupt rise. Definitely recommend this game! ~~

We love it. We fancy myself an avid rhythm game player and this presentation is simply outstanding. The only potential problem virtually anyone may encounter is the lack of a proper pause function. The music is excellent and the charts are very fun to play. Go a little less crazy with the camera tweaks on the dubsteppy songs though, eh? (My opinion only, but we’re also a bit psychotic over maths and functions- 46, 329, 405? What kind of scoring standpoints are these? Why not 50, 300, 400?) We’ve been waiting forever for the next version. Come on, now.

Really good price for a game that requires no additional payment but still provides updates and new songs, reminds us of the great plan used by Cytus. More games need to follow this example and stop making people pay to build a decent song list! Overall, this game plays well, looks slick and stylish, has good songs, and a gradual but very long difficulty curve. Excellent music game, keep ’em coming! Our funds aren’t endless, after all!

As we were a child growing up, we learned to play the violin, and it was then we realized music shouldn’t just be heard, it should be felt. It should be in far more dimensions than just sound. We think Sta (creator of this game) understood that, as the music is brought into several dimensions through modern art and interesting rhythms. Beats osu!, Deemo, Cytus, etc. However, the only issue we have with this game is the low number of songs. It seems like a lot at first, but after a while, it’s not that many, especially when taking into account the number of songs within the difficulty level you’re used to. But, when keeping in mind this game was dreamt of and created by one man, it’s forgivable. He is working on releasing many new songs now, which we look forward to. Overall, a very innovative music game. Definitely give it a shot.

But beat gather and cytus still rocks!

We want to know when we are going to have a new update. The game is more than great but not having new songs makes it poring, and have nothing to do but play old one… We need new songs.

What the heck is this and what am we supposed to do?

We don’t really get how to play the game. We mean there’s no tutorial anything that teaches us how to play as an whole. The tips before the games are okay but we get confused very much and it’s starting to get annoying so we deleted this app. The songs were okay though.

Awsome ! Continuous update plz !!

We own many rhythm/music games for apple devices and Tone Sphere is one of our favorites. To begin, the music selection is quite good and includes some unique sounding tracks. The songs styles used are varied which helps to keep the gameplay interesting. Speaking of gameplay, the levels in Tone Sphere are well designed. In games of this sort we prefer an audio feedback of some type to keep us with the rhythm. This game provides multiple sound effect options so that when you hit (or miss) a note you can hear a difference. On the visual side of things this game also does well. Abstract shapes float in space and sometimes change with the music. However, the graphics can look somewhat blurry in certain cases. Overall, Tone Sphere is a wonderful addition to the genre and to any rhythm game fans library.

Fun gameplay, great music selection!

The songs are what you might expect from Japanese songs in Dance Dance Revolution. It is a bit difficult in that one mistake will cost you and mess up your score.

One of our new favorite ways to waste time.

This is worth the money it’s fun challenging and the music is nice. Add more music please love this game.

We love Cytus, total sphere has potential to be a hit like Cytus. Backgrounds would be better if they reflect the songs( we understand the cubes and stuff) Sta has songs in Cytus. Use unique backgrounds and remixes also STA. We really want this game to flourish. Also try to make it horizontal, but then have to choose in song selection horizontal or vertical. Besides that Great Game, update soon Thnx.

This is easily one of the best rhythm games we’ve ever played. The music selection is terrific, most of the charts are very well-designed (though we would like to have a word with you about Noiseproof Expert…), and the visual design is stunning. There are a few annoyances with double-registering inputs, but no rhythm game is perfect when it comes to handling user input, so we can let it slide. The latency issues are likely due only to the hardware’s limitations. If you turn on sound effects and try not to listen to your fingers hitting the screen, the game feels as on-sync as any iOS rhythm game can possibly feel.

If only we can play clearly without bug , this is the most amazing game we ever played.
