Toobz is a Strategy/Puzzle game from Jason Haslup, first launched in 5th November 2008.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 136+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes Toobz Stand Out
Toobz is a challenging, fast-paced game that brings together quick reactions, planning, and a little bit of luck.
Your goal is to create a system of "Toobz" (pipes) beginning at a randomly-placed starting point. Your Toobz network must allow water to flow without any spilling. As you advance through levels, you'll have less and less time to place the pieces before the water starts automatically. You can start the water at any time, allowing you to quickly advance to the next level and earn extra points. If you spill any water, though, your game is over and you'll have to try again.
Toobz features three game modes: "Classic Toobz" in which only one upcoming piece is displayed, "Show Toobz" game in which the next four pieces are displayed, and the new "Puzzle" game that starts you out with a full board. Along with each game mode is a "Big Board" option which increases the size of the playing area by more than 2x!
Multiple color themes are available, including a setting to match your system Dark Mode preference.
This Strategy game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

This is quite possibly the best game Ive ever played. The fact that the water and the physics works so elegantly blows our mind. The puzzles are unbelievably complex and we cannot even pass a lot of them because the developer is a genius.
First let us say that we love this game. We have had it since the first version on our first iPhone. Was a little disappointed that we had to lose our winning streak when we had to pay for our last update. (It was a very high score). But worth it. However, on this version we are not getting the penalty for unused pipes, which is no big deal,but at the same time we are not getting the time credit for an early completion . We dont think we missed any updates. Can you help? And thanks for this game.
We played the free version for years and enjoyed it. Played daily. Free version didnt have an upgrade so we purchased the game. It never goes past level 11. After successfully competing the level the us at screen. Show we failed it bout even starting the game. This has happened numerous times since we upgraded. Big disappointment.
Hey update this game for the new iOS we want to keep playing it its been our favorite game since iPhone 3.
We have played this game for several years and we love the puzzle play. One challenge is finishing the puzzle quickly so you can earn a time bonus. With the latest upgrade, the time bonus does not work. Its still fun, but there is no use trying to quickly solve the puzzle.
We love the game. There is a problem with the score calculation where after the first level only the amount of outgoing flow counts we are not sure if intentional but we think it is a bug and should be fixed.
We love the game but hate the new uodate. The game now continues when you close the app or turn your phone off. It never did before. And the colors are way too bright. It was perfect before.
Ive had Toobz on our iPhone for 10+ years now, even played it less than 12 hours ago. We just opened it to find a completely new interface. We think it looks terrible. To us it just doesnt look as polished as before, and it seems overly bright and sharp (even in dark mode) which irritates our eyes. While its nice to see the developer is still interested in the game, this update doesnt feel like an improvement.
We used to have a version of this game on our old Commodore 64 computer about 30 years ago, and when we got our first iPhone we found a free version of this in the AppStore. Ive had it on all our iPhones for years, and finally decided to buy the full version.
For as simple as this thing is, it is our favorite way to pass time. Unfortunately, at 70 years old, that's the last thing we need to be doing… But it's so addictive! It may actually have some health benefits, though. It makes you force the brain to go into overdrive.
We really liked the update, especially the puzzle mode option, which may or may not have been in the last version.

Well we love the puzzle level. We did find an interesting little bug. The max score for a level appears to be 2900+450 = 3350 we have managed to get a score of 12700. Here is how to make it happen. Make your puzzle line up as well as you can. Click on "Start Water". Click on the home button. Click on Toobz again. "Play" The score just doubled. Repeat and the score triples Repeat again and the score quadruples.
This is one of our favorite games. We love almost everything about the update. One thing we would change: please go back to the way it used to be where you could just immediately start a new game after losing. It's kind of annoying to have to go back to the menu screen every time. Other than that we think it's great.
We like to play on our iPad mini. We also play on our full size iPad where it fills in the page.
1 – we have an iPhone 6 and the game sometimes interferes with setting the phone's volume. 2 – If you're playing the game and you receive a phone call, you can't stop the game. 3 – If you leave the game after completing a level, the game doubles the score of your last game. 4 – Explanation of the game, in detail, is lacking, especially how scoring is done. 5 – The pipe "end" looks similar enough to the "T" so that when you're in the heat of battle, it is easy to confuse them.
- When you return to the game (in puzzle mode) from another app, your awarded points again. 2. If you receive a phone call in the middle of a game, the timer doesn't stop, and you're not given an opportunity to pause the game and therefore, subsequently you lose the level and game after the call is over.
We like some features of the upgrade but we dislike majority. We like that it explains the scoring method but the UI stinks. Please bring back the different backgrounds.
We don't get the logic of pulling out a lot of versions and options that worked fine. Also, how does he know which options "most people" were using. That's pretty creepy. We're also disappointed that there is no way to reach the developer, as there's a bug in the new version with scoring (if you task switch while water is flowing through the pipes, the points accumulated will be doubled when you come back). We'd like the old version, as the new one doesn't seem like anything anybody asked for.
Please update the app to work on newer iOS and devices! And please add a mode without time limit.
This has been our favorite game since we got an IPhone 5 years ago. The new version is awful. It's basically not worth playing because it's so complicated and annoying. They took a fun game and made it complicated. The scoring is weird and the new graphics are too much. We would like the old game back if possible.
We have played this game for 4 years. The new version is so bad we deleted it. The graphics look like they were done by a lazy high school sophomore. We would give zero stars if we could.
We're glad you created a new interface and some new features but people love the old game! You need to allow the classic toobz people to play the game they love while giving the option to try the new features. We played on a friends iphone yesterday and was not a fan, especially that we didn't even have the option to play the way we liked. We'll never update to this version as long as it's like this. Please bring back the other features.
Pfffffffffffffft. Once in the old version, they had Free Play, and now, they demolished it. How could they?!?!? We demand the Free Play Mode back.
The ONLY game we play is now completely un-playable. We loved everything about the latest 2.xxx version and it was literally the only game we play on IOS (which has been in our pocket continuously since june 2007). Now we guess we don't play games on our phone. Very very very sad!!!!! If there is any way to get the old version back. Please help!!!!!!! Update from sept 14: since this WAS our favorite game we gave the new version a chance and played it for a while to see if we would get used to it. Nope. Still hate it. Want perfect last version back. Just deleted it from our phone. Bye-bye.
This was not a successful upgrade. We loved the old version. This one has a big bug, too. If you get a phone call in the middle of playing, the game doesn't go on hold….it keeps going. So if you're in the middle of a game, you lose.
We dislike the new screen, too white and blinding. Much prefer the old one. Also don't like the slider countdown, much prefer numbers. We do like the score summary after each round. End of game needs to stay on screen instead of going to menu.
Our rating went from 5 stars to 1. We really enjoyed the previous version of this game; the new version seems very limited. We're considering uninstalling.
How can this be called an update when options were nearly all removed instead of adding new options? All background choices were removed, sound choices removed, hints removed. Are you TRYING to get lower ratings & reviews. We've enjoyed this app for years, but it's worthless to us now.
Don't update! They have ruined tubes with a rotten update. No options allowed. Bad sound. No green in maps.
We played this game daily for years. After this "update" we erased it from our phone in one minute. Aside from the update ruining our months-long 750,000 point game, the update is ugly and takes most of your options away. It was a good game and now it's horrible; way to go.
OMG! We like the old version way better!! It had the grass and more details now it's just white and boring we loved playing this game now we just hate it.

We really don't understand all the negativity when it comes to this game. We have been playing this game for over a year and we enjoy playing it now just as we did then? What are all the bad reviews for, anyway.
We still love this game, but we would be really happy if you could bring: – iPhone 5 big screen support – Option to backup your stats/scores on iCloud or Dropbox If you bring this, we'll give 5 stars.
Fun game but there is only 5 levels. Which we have beaten 20+ times already. Add MORE levels. Add more backgrounds. Add different challenges and maybe you will get more.

Once upon a time this was a fun game, however after the latest update it is completely non-functional and extremely disappointing since the developers chose NOT to provide support. Very sad.

This WAS the best simple game ever. Now it seems like the creators have gone the way of Microsoft with some of its products…trying to improve a great thing and instead making it utterly horrible. Please update this and go back to how it was in the previous version.
It is terrible that a game we purchased no longer works on our iPod because we can't upgrade our iOS. This is classic bait and switch. You can't sell us a product and then take it away. It is downright criminal.
We don't like the new direction of the showing pieces. Please put it back the way it was! Our highest score was almost 150,000 on hard show toobz and now we can barely pass 10,000.
For anyone who has been a toobz fan, we can't stand how they switched the direction of usable pieces from being left to right to now right to left. Completely messes with our brain. Rotate us neat, but not with the new layout.
It needs the capability to play music. The music it plays, even though we have that setting off, is garbage. 3*.
Play this game a lot. Good puzzle-type game.
