Community Insight:

We wish there was more to do in this game. Otherwise we love it. We found it too easy. We have like over 50 sephiroth after playing like just 3 days. Please add harder levels. Maybe make a setting where we can choose a harder difficulty. We also think that more challenges would be fun to have. Thanks for your work.

Always loved Triple Traid. The game works just like in-game, super fun. Its been out for a long time and its still worth playing. We didnt like the HD interface but it is changeable and the support response was quick. Give it a try.

FFVIII is our favorite of the 3D era of Final Fantasy games. Love the characters and even the story. Bit of course it has the greatest mini game of all time. Triple Triad. Ive been wanting a Mobile version of this game for a long time, and now we have that fix we need. Even has online play which is sick. Also a huge bonus, even has the TT theme song. So fot hitting all those things ive been craving. Perfect score. Id say 10/10 if the stars went that high. Thank you developer.

If you played this game on ff8, its pretty much exactly that. With there was a little more work on the interface of the game but great way to kill 1-2 mins per game.

At first, we thought this game was amazing. Then we noticed a handful of things that turned us off and ended up deleting the game. Still a great game thats why Im giving it three stars five if they can fix the mechanics by adjusting things. It was almost like the computer knew what we were going to play. There were so many times that it play the perfect card in the most crazy chance that they had that card specifically. You work really hard to get good cards and the computer ends up having the perfect answer to take one of them away. If you end up purchasing the game credit, you can definitely get the right cards to play and win. Which that would make it way too easy. We feel like they should make it so you can sell the extra cards. You have to get credit to buy new cards. To us that wouldve fixed the game enough for us to give it four stars possibly five. That way youre not losing out on all your effort in one game. Too much grinding.

It was too easy. Cleared it like a vet in an hour. Went to online mode and it was a ghost town, decided to wait it out and found a few matches. 5 Clouds ready to rock. But no one wants the smoke, they quit after the first two moves. Great single player mode, hope you expand to include all the rules and mechanics. Would recommend.

To start with we grinded Gil to buy Cloud, and accidentally hit Tifa with the wrong finger, there needs to be a confirm button when buying cards, or at least the expensive ones, like maybe start it at the 500 amount. Second if you lose a card because of the stupid implementation of same and plus, which the cpu always knows and takes advantage of, you should be able to win the card back, or able to remove the rules as you see fit, maybe take Gil down for wins with less rules? Its infuriating when the cpu hits you with a same or plus and you end up losing and they take a card you spent 2500 Gil on and no way to win it back.

The game is a good replication of the original Triple Triad Only problem The AI is insanely good Normally thats not an issue BUT ITS ABLE TO TAKE YOUR CARDS If you do random or just a battle against it with your own deck you can quickly find yourself out of cards.

Our email and password we used for this game was found on the dark web. The way the user interface appeared when we initially created an account was suspicious and very lacking in providing confidence and security. Come to find out that the email button in game sends an email directly to the creator and owner of this app. A few days after we created our account, we got a notification through our security services saying our email and password was found on the dark web. Luckily the password we used was unique to this particular app. Anyone looking to create an account, please be mindful of this vulnerability. The game itself is fun, HD designs look weird so we just stick with the classic imagery. Sometimes the CPU opp plays the same card twice when they technically are supposed to have 5 unique cards but it wasnt a game breaking issue, just a strategy breaking issue for the user. 2 Stars for security issues mainly. Not happy with our info being found on the dark web especially when it was reported that the password found was tied to this game and only this game.

We have been itching for years to play TT stand alone but we dont think this is working right for us. We never get taken to a victory screen, we cant advance past the first battle opponent despite winning, and we never get to choose a card when we win. Im devastated. The music is great (same from the game) and the cards look fantastic just disappointed that we cant get any of the basic functionality.

This is a really good idea for an app. We loved the triple triad challenge of FF, but unfortunately this app has so many bugs we wasnt able to actually play. We reinstalled this app multiple times and when going to play your cards it just keeps freezing up then get and eventual error code on screen. Again cool idea for a game if someone knew how to make it functional.

Ive had this app for years and played off-&-on. Finally broke down to buy some credits to buy our favorite cards from the shop. We clicked the button for the one-time, $8 charge for 5000 points. Well. The app charged us $27. We DID get the points for the purchases, but we explicitly did not purchase above the $8 tier. We had to shut down our card to stop the app from charging us again. EDIT, UPDATE: we managed to replicate the error and it may be a glitch on Apples end! If we buy points from your game at the same time our Apple Arcades charge goes through, Apple appears to register that charge as a whole sum and not two separate events, pinging your app to deliver more points than were purchased? It is very strange.

Got all the cards plus a handful of ones that werent in FF8. Plays the same (shame plus/same and elemental are present, those rules STINK) Game tends to get old once you have all the cards, and theres rarely people online to do battle. But its fun to load up and kill 10-15 minutes playing a few games vs varying computer difficulties. ~vnv_nati0n.

This is a good representation of the game from final fantasy, we just wish you had more options to choose your rule sets. That keeps it from being five stars.

  • No matter if someone works for, wins, or choose to pay actual money for a card. If lost two pieces of information need to be given. First, who we can win it back from. Second, a clear indication that the lost card was once owned and lost. Before starting a Random Challenge or Battle game. A clear pre-play description of the rules, stakes, and objectives needs to be given. Furthermore, during the game the rules need to be available to view. This game has a multitude of rules. Even a single rule change can significantly alter the outcome of this game. Not to mention when said rules are applied in different combinations. Therefore, your main screen options menu needs to offer adjustments to these rules.

Im having a great time with the game so far. Things are working fine; even better than any other TT clone Ive ever played. We guess if we have any downsides to it, its the lack of challenges. We wish there were more challenges than just Ultimecia. Once shes beaten, thats it. You cant even go back and play her again.

Multiple times we put down a better card and the enemy card doesn't flip. CPU is occasionally a cheat. Besides that it is decent fun, and most games are fair. Good nostalgia factor. Nice music.

Fan games of things that dont otherwise have releases like romhacks etc are one thing because theyre usually not for profit. This is literally just stolen intellectual property wrapped up in a (scammy) app to make the developer money without them making their own content or ideas. We honestly dont know how SE hasnt already sent a C&D or otherwise forced this stolen property off the app market. Its not even just that its stolen, its also poorly executed because its formatted around making money not being entertaining. The developer (ironically) has a reskin of this stolen IP as another app game on the store, not sure which game came first from them but it shows its not even the first time they stole Triple Triad which is almost funny. They have no original ideas. The only other game they have is (according to some reviews on it) again not only bad / not fun or good but also not their own IP and its copied. *disclaimer that im not an authority on IP or copyright law these are purely our opinions. TLDR : its not only not good its not their own original work and you can play the real Triple Triad in FF XIV or the FF portal thing instead of giving this hack your money.

So this game has a thing where they take one of your cards if you leave a match unfinished. It says you have been punished! And it took our Edea card. Of course the best card. Why not right? Heres the problem. We didnt leave the match. The app force closed. So whats the punishment for the developers and how do we get our edea card back? Look for another triple triad app. Square Enix portal has triple triad, Ill see if our card is there.

Game is cheating on the random battle 8 matches in a row they all had full cloud cards decimating all the cards we earned.

Your card can only turn the card next to it. Scoring is who has the most cards, not who has the most on the board. Cards are very low ranking. There is NO fun in this game.

Computer knows every move and wont give you barely any chance to get good enough cards to get anywhere.

We jumped on this expecting it to be very similar to FF8 which at first it was, however the developers made a critical flaw. You cant see the computers cards but the computers know what cards you have. Theyll start making blantely stupid moves in which you have no idea why for example leaving a 2 exposed on the bottom, but then u look at you hand and u have nothing that can beat it. Or they will put a 6 on the side when you only have one card that can take it then when you do take it they will either same or plus to steal it back. Honestly was very disappointed we think FF14 TT is 100% better than this app and FF14 TT is rough.

Its just like the original but we feel it needs to have options to change the rules, at least when playing against the AI. We were never good with the elemental bonuses, etc. It would be fun though to just be able to have the One rule with Open or Same.

Love this game, we never spend actual cash on apps but we had to get the Ifrit card and Brothers card to help out, the only reason Im giving this 4/5 stars is because sometimes when the app crashes or closes, it reads Im punished for leaving a match and a card is taken from us. Other than that, very fun like the actual game.

Scoring was off and other bugs like cards not flipping when they should have.

Playing very well until our cards started getting flipped when our opponent didnt have enough power to flip resulting in our cloud card being lost in the battle. Expect to lose for no reason.we want to add shortly after this game the cpu made a move as of it knows the card we have and make a move that makes no sense to beat us…. We will no longer play this broken game and we suggest you dont waste your time with this game that destroys the original.

This game is designed to run your pockets with unfair AI where the odds are statistically against you. Huge fan of the real game so Im very disappointed. SHAME.

The game is just how you probably remember it on FF8, but theres a real fun thing that happens when the app eventually crashes, where it forces you to lose your best card if youre in the middle of a game. No getting it back. Nice design guys.

Downloaded it because we always liked triple triad from ff8, the game doesnt even function at the starter level. We got flipped by weaker cards and when our own were stronger they didnt flip. Deleted.

Our game crashes every time we click on an option now.

We play this game for fun in solo mode. The addition of the punishment in the latest update has ruined the game. If you quit for any reason then the punishment is to delete 1 copy of your best card. Forcing you to either pay $10 to immediately get it back or play for tens of hours hoping the AI unfairness is less than normal. We dont care about fairness. We just want to enjoy a game. Its like playing Doom in god mode. You do it for fun, not for fairness. If the game is not enjoyable as the AI cheats / has more powerful cards most of the time (which is statistically not likely) then why play it at all. We would give zero stars if the system let us. We have now uninstalled this game. We recommend everyone do this. Give the developer a punishment by losing our business. Update: The developer said it is only a random card that is taken away. Thats strange, as every time it did this it only took our most valuable card. They also stated it was to increase the challenge in the game. When playing an AI that already stacks the deck against you over 90% of the time, this just adds insult to injury. We strongly recommend that all payers uninstall this app and penalize the developer. Unless you want to spend lots of money trying to get back the cards you legitimately won playing for many hours without playing again for hours in an unfair system. The developer should have considered only applying the penalty when playing an actual person but not against the unfair system AI. This goes to show the developer is only thinking of making a profit instead of actually providing a decent game. Greedy developer. Shame on you. Update 2: As stated in our original review, you dont play Doom in god mode to be fair. You do it to have fun. We understand penalizing when playing an actual person online. But to penalize when playing an already unfair AI where the system is stacked against you just to line the pockets of the developer? Thats just wrong. As stated previously, the AI already has better cards than you 9 out of 10 times when you play random. That is not random. That is statistically highly unlikely. With the penalty, your best card is taken 17 out of 20 times. Not a random card from your hand. Your best card. Think about how long you played to get that card. Is that fair? When playing the unfair AI, you want to play in the equivalent of god mode, and actually enjoy the game. If your going to lose 90% of the time and then have your best card taken when you rage quit, why bother playing. It will only make you angry. This developer does not care about your enjoyment of the game. All they care about is driving you mad so that you spend close to $10 to get back the card you spent tens of hours to earn. Stay away from all apps by this developer.

We gave this game a harsh review at first, because we were frustrated w the AI difficulty, and was just having that kind of day. But now that Ive spent more time with it, we had to come back and bump up our stars. Its really an amazing clone of one of the most memorable parts of our childhood gaming experience. Im glad to see someone is keeping the spirit of FFVIII alive on mobile devices! As soon as you hear the music, youll be transported back to 1999. The gameplay/rewards system is fair and everything looks just as it should. Only thing is, we need more players for pvp! Spend some time with it, and we promise you wont be disappointed. Long live our emo boy Squall.

We won a game, asked us to pick a card. Wouldnt let us pick a card we didnt already have and then when we clicked on a card we had the entire app reset itself Edit: Still not sure about the first part of this bug but it seems the resetting of the app is intentional.

Very good app, takes us back to the hours spent with this minigame from FF VIII. He even got that catchy theme music. We agree with others it would be cool to see the rule variations but it's still great without and it's free! Thanks for this. Update: this is still a very good app and we appreciate it. It would be cool if we got more of the tile variations but more than anything we wish we had the option to toggle the current ones. Its incredibly frustrating to play with closed hands (opponents cards invisible) and the plus rule enabled. It makes the results too random as an opponent can easily subvert your high cards and winning situation and you cant strategize against it.

We started playing 2 days ago. We already have all the best cards in the game and have beaten every battle available. Nobody is ever online to play against. Worst of all is that the same/plus rule seems to only activate when both bordering cards are the other players. Oh and there are no combos. Oh and there doesnt seem to be a way to change the rules so you are stuck with elemental. You get one card per win instead of all/some, and there is no way to sell or refine the cards that have become useless. We loved this game in FF8 and this is a Great concept but poor execution.

Most our friends have androids and cant play this game :(.

We like it, but the pvp seems to be difficult to figure out. Though, in the end we can picture 3 clouds 1 sephiroth 1 areth. Im not sure what any prize would be, but perhaps making automated tournaments with power level restrictions, with 3 tiers. Maybe a buy in, then you give money to square onix, which gives winners a free download or credit to account. Last thing…no B attack going left (not really a big thing).

What is missing? Rules and Region rules. You dont know what is active/applies to a current round. The board doesnt have elemental bonuses/penalties. Maybe the developer had enough incentive, they could add on the region/rule activations (Open, Elemental, Sudden Death, Same, Same Wall, Random, Plus,) as well as trade rules (Direct, One, Difference,All). Maybe in the future, but we are somewhat content. Only bomb card art is different. Which threw us off since you see it so early in the game.

For what it is, its a really fun card game. Its like being able to play Triple Triad without having to boot up FFVIII. With that said, it does take a bit of grinding at first to get going (especially since we cant go kill monsters for their cards) but each win means more Gil that can be used to purchase desired cards. A few critiques would be that a game ending in Draw should have a Play Again? Option rather than having to go back to the menu. Other music options for the menu would also be nice. Lastly, we understand if making Tetra Master would be an issue due to legal reasons, but if they make it, Id be willing to spend some money on both. We recommend this game. Its not the original, but its close enough.

Plus and same rules arent working. Works for computer, so seems a bit unfair. Otherwise, fun.

This game is absolutely impossible to gain any ground unless you pay. They give you crappy cards and you have to use Gil to buy better cards ( cant even use them if you win them in a game unless youve purchased them with Gil). Even the bad cards are 100 Gil and you get 10 Gil when you win a game, youd have to play for months to build a decent deck.

We were so excited to see our favorite TCG back in action. What a let down. Pick the card you like to take more like pick one of the cards Ill let you take. How am we supposed to get stronger if Im forced to take what we dont want.

This game rocks since the bug fixes. Just wish for tutorial on same plus exc.

Loved the original game and this app was just as good. Loved the additional cards from FFVII. Our only small problem with it was the anticlimactic end when beating it and getting all the cards. It was just like we beat it! And the app was like K. Maybe add to it if possible? Keep it fun and interesting.

We enjoy playing this, but it crashes every 3 or 4 games when we win and choose a card to take. Id like to have see more of the game modes like reverse added.

The same rule is broken in this game, and there is no plus/same combo. To top it all off we cant even play by the random rule or the sudden death rule. This thing needs work but it does have potential.

This game is fun but it needs a re-battle or to open on the page you left for farming.

Its cool someone made this a card game. Over the years Ive had glitches and crashes but has gotten better. However, when we first started playing we had purchases and the restore purchase button does not work. Also, we can see opponents do the successful and plus rule, but we cant perform the same one.
