Have you ever wondered what it would be like if the hangman drawing came alive? That is just what happens in our Doodle Hangman theme. It has multiple animations per sequence so you never know what he will do next. Special escape animations occurs if you guess word when on ninth letter. Chillin' Chalk is our school house chalkboard theme where you get to play in landscape mode. Christmas Snowman has a snowman that disappears as wrong letters are chosen and Flower Power has flowers with parts that fly away. These last 2 themes provide for relaxing hangman play without the violence. :)

No ads. The animation is hilarious. Its a fun little game.
Had this as a kid and recently redownloaded it. It honestly has not changed at all. No ads, works offline, the animations are cute. Not the flashiest graphics, but very functional. One thing we wasn't expecting is how useful it can be as a language-learning tool. It has multiple categories in spanish, french, german, and portuguese. While there is an "SAT word" category (and many others) that can make the words challenging enough for a native speaker, the basic english and basic spanish categories have very very common words for whatever level you're at (e.g., "and" "when" "porque" "ellos"). So that was a fun surprise! You can connect with a friend, a random player, or two players can use the app on one device, and it works well. Unfortunately, you can only do single words unless you don't need to have any spaces in your sentence, but that's the only complaint we can really think of. Though we will advise that there's no word-checker, so if you play with a random person and/or a small child, they may very well just give you a keyboard smash. It's a very simple app, very old-internet style, but we think it's great.
Ever heard of the animal ekaltadelta? No? Because it doesnt exist. Even the 6 dictionaries they give you to choose from to look up the word you missed say this word doesnt exist. We had to look it up on the internet. The correct spelling is ekaltadeta. Dictionary.com still says this doesnt exist, but other sources say its some kind of pre-historic giant rat-kangaroo from Australia. Weird and highly suspect. But come on, at least spell it right. We lost the game cuz we cant guess how you misspelled something.
Love the animations, although the placement and contrast of the executioner artwork over the letters & spaces sometimes makes it difficult to see the letters and how many spaces are left.
Paid to remove ads. Worked for a little while then refuses to now. This is like theft. Also the character gets in the way of the letters. Long time owner of the app. Now we are just POed… Restore our purchase.
This is absolutely a delight to play and the most fun Ive had in a long while. The animations for the yellow theme is actually what convinced us to purchase ad removal. Our mom, who is not into handheld games, got hooked QUICK. Well done.
Good game but you cant add spaces between words.
We loved the animations and used to use this with our students when we had a few minutes and needed a break. However the animation now includes what kids interpret as a braw so we dont dare use it anymore.
This is a fun game, that makes you think. Also good to brush up on your spelling.
If you dont get a word we called you a loser but you cant see what the word was because its covered up by that youre a loser sign.
We are learning so much from this app. It is very fun to guess the answer! We enjoy playing while listening to music. It is very nice. So far no commercials. This is definitely a great app.
This is a fun game. Great game for individuals and families. We highly recommend it.
Overall, the game is great. Lots of different categories to play. The only thing we wish it could do is save our score. Maybe there is a way to do so and we havent figured it out. Again, its a great game. Thats why we gave it 5 stars.
Welll we havent played it but its good.
Finally we have found a version of Hangman that is extremely challenging. We have played many other hangman games but generally find them too easy. Some contain proper names which we find annoying. This game will keep you alert and at your peak vocabulary level. Warning though it is highly addictive and may contribute to insomnia. As you play the words become continuously more difficult and will eventually stump even the most educated. For senior citizens this game is a veritable hindrance to dementia. Do not play if you are planning to sleep or are scheduled for an appointment. Best hangman ever.
This game is awesome fun! Id give it more than five stars if we could. The animation is hilarious and makes the game that much more enjoyable.
We have enjoyed this game a lot for over a year. Recently, though, it has started crashing mid-game.
Ive had this app for @8 years. It is so clever. Very entertaining and one of a kind, for sure. Im super happy it has survived all this time. Please keep it alive.
This is the Ultimate Hangman… Good range of words & categories… And fun animations make this the only Hangman to play. Ads are not too annoyingly disruptive.
Oftentimes Im happy to have guessed incorrectly, just for the giggles. Its a fun twist to traditional Hangman.
Be aware, these are very animated hangings, so some may be uncomfortable playing this game, and watching it. We particularly love them, the humor is great. And the words can be difficult, so that is a plus.
Very annoyed that the graphics in this app obscure the word you are trying to guess. Cant see anything. Fix that and the user experience would be awesome.

This game rocks! We love the graphics and the puzzles really make you think. We hate to lose when we can figure it out but at the same time hilarious when we do! And even better when we save him in the knick time.

If you can make this so we can play with non-local friends, this game would be a total home run.
This is an addictive game, especially using the random SAT words. Our reservation is that too often, even on an iPhone 6S Plus, the art, cute as it is, overwrites the word and we lose track of whats there. That can throw a passionate player off-stride. We also have no idea what the point-assignment system is for any given play. Id like to be able to optimize our scores but that strategy eludes us. Finally, an attempt to challenge a friend on another device failed utterly, with no guidance as to how to do it right or notification that the challenge had failed. With fixes to those problems, Id give this game an enthusiastic 6 stars if we could.

This game is great! We haven't gotten very far yet, and we have only played the game with the stick figure so far, but the poor guy pleading and poking fun for wrong answers is just too funny. This game is engaging and funny. We love the antics that the doodle man displays. Great for all ages.
Our students love playing this on our SMART board when we have time at the end of class. We love the categories, the humor in the drawings, and the fact there is a dictionary for the words we don't get. We enjoy playing it on our own too.
We opened this up again after not playing for a long time (a year?) and was delighted by all of the revisions since then! We set it aside because we were too familiar with the word lists, but there are now at least twice as many on offer–including SAT words! The animations for the victim have also been tweaked and display even more morbid humor. We work as a tutor in an education center and will definitely incorporate this into our kids' "break time" activities. We just hope none of the advertisements prove inappropriate. We wish that we could purchase a "removes ads" option, but we understand that business model might not be feasible.
Really enjoying this but we have to agree with other reviews: the sketches get in the way of the word. Love the graphics, music & sound effects.

We like this game, although when we play it on our phone, the executioner covers the word. That needs to be fixed. It is a great way to pass some time.

We suppose sometimes even cliche old sayings hold true. 'You get what you pay for' comes to mind in this case! Every single program out out by this publisher/company, looks and plays like cheap crapolla! So bad that even 'for the price' you can indeed complain! Boo to this publisher and boo to the maker of this horrid horrid game.
Specifically got the to play with long distance friends. It crashes after you enter the word on the iPad Air first generation. Otherwise it looks fun.
We played this fun game on the first iPad and the iPod touch 3rd Gen. .the game is very fun ! We really recommend this game in 2021.
