This is a great game! We love the way it feels like youre playing inside of a comic book. The humor and jokes were brilliant! If you pay attention to the dialog, youll catch funny Easter eggs. This game also has an amazing storyline. In terms of length, we would say it wasnt a short game but its also not a super long game. Its right in the middle. We wish it was longer!! We like and appreciate that the characters actually speak with audio (some point and click games only have subtitles for character dialog) and the characters move when they talk (some games, the characters dont do that). We also like the third person view point. This game is def worth the price and download. Highly recommend.
We have never played a game so immersive. It is a little difficult to play some of the puzzles due to not being able to see the full screen of everything on the iPhone 16 pro, but other than that it was great. It does lag a little sometimes in certain areas of the game, but is quickly fixed.
In-depth storyline, fun dialog, challenging, mini puzzles in between chapters. Fun game, love the cartooning style and characters. Played perfectly on our iPhone 12. Saves game for you as you progress but you can also do your own saving as a backup, as we did but never needed it. Loved the voiceovers, humor and background music.
This is a wonderful game! The puzzles can be quite confusing at times and some a little glitchy but the storyline makes up for everything. Superb voice acting makes the story line even more enthralling. Like we said some of the puzzles make no sense but some after figuring them out you're left with the "duh" moment. Really enjoyed playing this. Now off to download another Backwoods game.
We love point and click adventure games, we have since we were a kid playing the old Lucas arts games in early 90s. This game is true to the genre, but a few things, 1. The story arc didnt feel quite right, it was supposed to be a mystery box kinda thing, but it was never really that compelling or intriguing 2. Why couldnt he kiss Helliwell at the end? Missed opportunity there.
The first thing this game needs is a button that will highlight the items on the screen that can be interacted with. As it is now, its too easy to miss items because you didnt quite hover over them perfectly. Another issue is the inventory. There is no button to open your inventory; instead you tap the top of the screen. This causes problems when youre trying to interact with an object at the top of the screen and the inventory keeps popping up. Also there are some bugs. At one point our character read a newspaper, but then we couldnt get the newspaper off of the screen, even when we clicked on options. Currently Im stuck at the scene where the hazmat goons are spraying the town because we cant click on the paint atomizer. All that said, its a fun game with some good puzzles and solid graphics.
Im enjoying the game – great graphics, voice acting, and story. Interacting with inventory items is simple, but sometimes glitchy. The big issue is that an important map location can be unlocked in chapter 3, but a bug prevents you from getting to the location. Theres no way forward in the game.
We love the humor and the graphics. Just wish we could get Rondas keys off the wall, as we have tried over 50X and ordered that many BLTs from her to grab the keys in an effort to unlock her car.
Please fix how long It takes to get to another location. The loading screen is uncalled for with how long it takes.
We need more games like this. Great story, great puzzles, makes you think, art style was really cool, voice acting was great. Only complaint we have is the controls were a little janky at times. But Im not a developer, and we dont know the time or budget constraints the team was working withso its an ignorant complaint at best. Bottom line, get the game, its well worth it.
First, we have to give a shout out to the amazing people behind this game. We were stuck at one point and was sure we had encountered a glitch, so we emailed the development team. Someone got back to be in a matter of hours with a very helpful hint! Best customer service ever! If you think youre seeing a glitch, it probably isnt. Just keep trying different things! We just beat the game on our super old iPhone 8, so it definitely works. The story is great, the puzzles are super entertaining, the music and art are memorable, and the voice acting is fantastic. We have no criticisms at all. We cant wait to replay.
Always looking for games like this, and the storyline here made it interesting and fun, and kept us hooked to keep playing. The dialog and characters were funny and well developed, and each challenge had a unique narrative. Plenty to look at, and always enjoy the inside jokes and references to classics (laughed out loud at the twin peaks reference). All around fun and mysterious game, would recommend, and wish we could play for the first time again.
Great setup and had a lot of potential. This is a game where you have to click on stuff for clues or useable objects and you will find yourself having to click on a lot of random stuff to find what you want. For example, the first thing you do is search for a multi-tool and it is some random object on the floor rather than something on a workbench where you would think to look. We really like the story setup and the art. Seems to have a good mix of humor too. We stopped playing after 30 minutes. This would make a good candidate for a trial and pay once you know you like it. We also found the inventory easier to use in guided access.
Great storyline, but trying to tap on something is an exercise in listening to Harper say the same things over and over again, and watching him take a looong time walking around things. The interface here is not awesome. We got to the junkyard, where it says there might be car parts in the old car, and 10 minutes of tapping on everything that looked like a car drove us nuts with listening to Harper say the same things again and again and again and again and again. And again. Also encountered some weird buggy stuff, like Harper walking up stairs that arent there into the wall of the storage closet in the hotel. So yeah, no. Im leaving it there. This game really isnt ready for a $5 price tag.
