A Glimpse into Viridi

Nurture a small pot of succulents that grow in real time.

Viridi is a safe haven, a place you can return to for a moment of peace and quiet whenever, and wherever you need it.

While not fully realistic (they’re very forgiving), your succulents will require some maintenance and can die from over- or under-watering. Name your favorite plants, give them special care and attention, and they might even flower for you.

Viridi is free to try and comes with your choice of plant assortment. If you think it has a place in your life, you can buy your favorite plants from the in-game nursery for just a few cents a piece. Remember to visit the nursery occasionally for your weekly free seeding!

"Designed to be the ideal happy place game … Viridi is a primer, a simulation, and a love letter to this branch of botany, all rolled into one"

  • Fast Company

"Yes, you do need an ultra-zen video game about growing succulents … tending to these digital plants offers a seriously calming experience"

  • The Huffington Post

"The most chilled out and peaceful game I’ve ever seen"

  • Upworthy

"In addition to learning about real-life varieties of succulents, what you are learning when you play games of this type is how to create a quiet, mindful moment in your day using unusual tools"

We love this game so much. It was, at one point, one of the things that kept our life stable and on-schedule. Plus, its incredibly cute and relaxing. We would love to see this app expanded upon; we love it so, so much. (i also want to be able to give the cute little snail a friend, please let us do that )

We’ve always liked this app, gives us something to look forward to in our day :)

We’ve been playing this forever. We love tending plants and watching them grow and change. It’s very relaxing and helps a lot with our anxiety by giving us something to focus on and keep us busy. We love plants and flowers and have tons of them irl. We wanted to know if you could develop, or if you could reach out to the creators about making app like this where you tend other kind of plants like flowers too. A flower garden app or something similar would be great.

As someone who has a history of downloading games, playing for hours, and then deleting the game, this game somehow has kept us entertained for 3 months now. Its peaceful and cute and just makes us happy. The first thing we do each morning and the last thing we do each night is check our plants. We think its nice that you have to buy the seeds because it forces us to wait for the free weekly seedling. This game is amazing at slowing you down and it isnt addictive at all. We hope it gets more updates like winter decorations. Oh btw for new users, dont delete the game if it feels boring at first because soon youll get attached lol and youll love it too.

We’ve had this game for years and years. Im not sure if its getting anymore updates but Id love to see some more plants.

We wasnt sure about this seemingly overly simple app. Yet, we find myself returning to it daily. When we need a quick mindful, meditative break and during the transitional moments switching from the days activities to slumber. Two things l have recently learned which have enhanced our experience: singing to each plant makes them flourish and flower and a free plant is offered every Friday. This little app is worth a try for sure. It may be just what youre looking for.

We love the art! We love that its not very time consuming. We love watching our plants grow slowly over time. The fireflies at night are an awesome touch!

Im not really an fps or mmorpg kind of player; we like Tetris and d&d quests, Im not an fast action gamer. We also own close to fifty succulents, so this game is definitely our cuppa. Slow moving, plants growing in near real time, soft soothing music, muted colours, low key in every way, we love this game so much. We could sit and watch one of our planters spin slowly for an hour or more; its soporific, but thats what we were looking for! We like the in-app purchases rather than an initial payout. It feels like going to the nursery and picking up a new plant and/or pot. We like the snail on the rims of the pots. It tickles us that you can sing to it along with the plants! We have three pots going rn in all three settings, and its fun and very soothing for us to pull out our phone when Im on the bus, put in our ear buds, and pull up this app. Five stars, absolutely.

Our friends call us silly for spending so much time on this game. But the one on the computer has us waking up just to check on our little plants. A bit of joy to start our day. Thank you.

Every time we open the app, we are focused on taking the best care of our plants, ad its the first thing we open. The music puts even calms our most tense nerves! We absolutely LOVE plants, so this is the perfect app for us!

We’ve had this app for years, and we cant say we have a single complaint. Viridi saw an unclaimed branch of the app world and conquered it, and did so flawlessly. We’ve never spent money on this app, and it doesnt make you feel the need to. The music is very calming, the plants are diverse and lovely, and the snail is absolutely adorable. Viridi is one of our favorite apps on our phone.

We’ve been playing this for almost 2 years and we’ve never deleted it or gotten bored, it’s relaxing and the music is tranquil we love viridi.

We got emotionally attached to timmy, our plant.

GET THIS APP. NOW. YOU NEED IT, SERIOUSLY. Literally the BEST app we have ever downloaded in our life. So fun. So incredibly relaxing. Low maintenance. Peaceful. Keeps us excited with our weekly seedling. THE ONLY APP we HAVE EVER CONSIDERED MAKING IN-APP PURCHASES IN. That’s how fun and incredible it is. So adorable. No matter what kind of person you are, please just try this app. No ads, just pure joy.

Let us begin by saying, we play on apps quite a bit and we have never before written a review. We feel very strongly about our succulent garden, this game is really somethin. It teaches succulent species names, patience, appreciation for beauty, and so much more. We havent spent any cash money on it, the different pots and weekly free seedlings are enough for us :) we highly recommend a download, we think this app is really a gem in the web.

So the graphics are just amazing and the game is so fun. Thanks for making this simulation.

Viridi is a great game that helps calm our mind. We love the music. It doesnt add any stress to our mind. It also doesnt blow up our phone with notifications like other apps.

Before this app, we had nothing. Viridi changed our life for the better, and downloading it is the best decision we’ve made in our life. This app is more than just an app. Its a calling. The sweet serenity of virtual succulents raises in our heart a glorious feeling of contentment and peace. Reality has shifted from a painful and cruel instrument with which existence tortures our souls to a beautiful pot of succulents. Every day when we wake up and look at our sweet garden of little children, tears well in our eyes as we realize our importance to the world. If life has meaning, Viridi is that meaning.

We absolutely love this game and the soundtrack is so so relaxing!!!! Whoever is reading this, this game will make your life better!!

The apps nice but we were thinking there should be a setting on how forgiving the plants can be?

It’s nice to have a pot of succulents, they’re our favorite plants, but with moving it’s hard to find time to go out and buy some, so this is a great substitute and it’ll help us time our watering when we finally get our plant babies.

We love this game, it really doesnt feel much till you wake up at 6 every morning to sit outside and check on your plants makes us actually happy to get up for once in our life, its calming and we enjoy it much! We also named the snail clementine btw:>

We love this app. It’s beautiful and simplistic, and it isn’t too addictive because they grow in real time. It’s actually helped us get off our phone because we’ll sing to the plants and set our phone down so that they’ll grow, and if we touch our phone it stops singing and they grow more slowly. We love the real-time weather feature as well. It’s cute and pretty, a really awesome app. Wish there were more like it.

We love this app. So relaxing! Great for meditation it shows plants growing.

We have never known peace until this game. Highly recommend.

After engaging with the app for a week, we noticed that we took it out to help us sit through our sons dental appointment. We interact with it to take a mental break when Im laser-focused on a task, and it helps us not get diverted. For example, we might have an impulse to check social media or text someone but those would be things that we could easily get distracted with. If the app is singing to something and it is happy, we are happy there and then we easily stay on track. This is more wonderful than we thought it would be!! Therefore, we thought we would never do in-app purchases to get more seeds but we can see why we would. We love watching the plants change over time. We realize we love the sound of the water bottle and taking the weeds out; it feels satisfying. Beautiful app.

Don’t listen to all those one-star reviews, Viridi is truly a great game! We love the graphics, the music, and how you get a free seedling every week! There’s also a very pretty variety of different succulents you can obtain too! We let out a little chuckle when we tapped on the snail, hit the spray button, and the text at the bottom that normally says "Wow Cute" described the snail being wet Lol. We also like how the succulents actually grow in real time too! And besides, even if you don’t like the game, it’s free, so you don’t waste any money on it. We even showed this game to our mom and she then proceeded to download it as well, and now once in a while we’ll show each other our succulents if we want to! Plus, we grow succulents irl too, so that kinda boosts our appreciation for this game! Overall, it’s a wonderful and relaxing game, and we recommend it to anyone who needs some relaxation, and/or wants to take care of some plants. Edit: Please fix the bug where you lose progress in the game if you do certain things, such as the time we had beautiful vibrant flowers on all our succulents, but when we returned to the app after a split second, they were gone! This has also happened when we were getting our weekly seedling: we went to try to plant the seedling, and we couldn’t put it anywhere, so we had to make room; but when we exited out of the seedling planting interface, most of our flowers were completely missing! Please fix this!!!

Great relaxing game for non gamers! But need more updates please and another free pot, a small pot maybe?.. More plants/succulents, different backgrounds, and maybe TWO free seedlings a week instead of one! This is our new favorite game, just wish there was more updates even though its an older game. Highly highly recommend for non gamers!

We cant have plants at the moment and this app keeps us busy with at least virtual nursery for now. Looking forward to some updates because the last one was 3 years ago.

This app is perfect. Dont waste any more time reading reviews, just download it and try it for yourself!

Idk why, but theres just something so calming and nice about this app compared to others. Theres not too much to do, just collect succulents, visit and water them every day, and watch them grow. But its nice that way. Im a plant fanatic, we have a bit of a plant collection Irl haha, so we just adore this app. The snail is our bestie.

We absolutely love this app everything about it! And the music is so amazing thanks so much for creating such a fun relaxing game we’ve had our plans for over a year now just awesome!

We have just started this game but it so relaxing and nice! We just bought our own succulent and so its nice to know what to do at some points. Of course we cant forget the snail! The sail is so cute and we love how when we spray it with water it says wet. By the way, spraying the snail for a long time makes you start to sing to it! We dont have any complains for this game yet but so far, it has been our zen and happy place. So, good job.

We just got it and we can say just sitting here Im more relaxed than we have been in awhile. Its the music and the simplicity of the game. It takes all the complex parts out and makes it fun to play.

We normally dont write reviews, but we just wanted to spread the word that Viridi is an amazing stress relief game! Viridi is a very soothing, relaxing game that can help you escape reality. This app lets you nurture a plant of your choice. Please, download this app!

While looking for a new relaxation app, we came across Viridi. Being a gardener in real life, we have a fondness for plants and watching them grow. Viridi allows us to have a portable garden wherever we go. The plants are all nicely colored and we appreciate the botanical names with them. The choice of pots and the three different backgrounds are nice for customizing. The music is soothing. And in an age of lootboxes and dlc, we truly appreciate that Viridi doesnt push microtransactions on its players. Yes the additional two pots and any extra seedlings you may want do cost money, but the prices are fair. The game makes sure you have plenty of seedlings in your starter pack so your pot looks full even without additional purchases. Overall a breath of fresh air for those in need of a nature break.

We have a love for cacti and succulents, but not enough space to grow them. This app is perfect for our suculenty needs. When you put a succulent out of the pot though, it says you throw the succulent into the garden so we just imagine a pile of dying succulents, their roots exposed to the hot blistering sun, slowly fading away, so could you change it to say you plant the succulents in the garden. That would help us sleep better at night.

We love how calm this app is. There’s no pressure, no tapping, just lovely plants that slowly but surely grow for you. We often open this as the last iPad thing we do before bed and breath along with the gentle camera motion after watering them. (I do sometimes worry about losing our grown plants randomly as some of the older reviews describe, but that has never happened to us. Hopefully this means that whatever it was has been fixed!)

Overall, this game has really helped us with depression. It’s just something to check in on every day and take care of and look forward to seeing growth. Like a virtual pet but it doesn’t require you 24/7. Beautiful graphics, we love the idea of the weeds and the snail is super cute. Makes us feel a lot better about myself being able to grow such a beautiful little leaf buddy. Now for the suggestion part. Your graphics are adorable and magnificent. There aren’t any on the app store and you would be the perfect developer. Make a virtual pet game, please. A snail. Slug, snake, any pet without a lot of maintenance, just like the plants but it’s a lil animal. We’ve been looking for a virtual snail app and there’s literally none. We can’t own a snail, and the ones we really want are illegal. All we’re saying is that you should make a virtual pet, preferably a snail. Please. You could feed it and clean it’s box and check in on it’s growing shell. You could decorate it’s habitat. You can create a human model (first person) and only design the arms and legs, let the snail crawl around your room and let it climb on you. It’s a nice concept, we don’t know. We like your style and we would seriously appreciate if you make a virtual pet. We love the plants, they’re beautiful, thank you for this wonderful and adorable game. 5/5, 10/10, 100/100.

We were recommended this app by an acquaintance after a really rough time in our life and we can safely say that the calming music and atmosphere and very act of growing and mildly caring for virtual succulents helped keep us calm in otherwise heavily anxiety-riddled days. It still does. The only thing is, we wish we could have more pots! Or a retirement greenhouse (instead of a nursery) where we can put plants when we want to make room for new ones to grow (I havent uprooted any plants, actually. Cant bring myself to do it). That, and the rest of the little plant blurbs in the seed selector! We just discovered those today and we would love to see them finished.

This app helped us figure out what plants we have in our succulent garden that we received as a gift! Im so happy to know that one of the plants is in fact completely healthy! We are so grateful. Thank you to the people who made this!

This game is fantastic. The colors and artwork are beautiful and there are so many different succulent and pot options in the game! Its very relaxing and if youre having a tough day, great for anxiety relief. The developers and their team provide great support regardless of your questions and it shows that they truly care. Im hoping there will be another update soon. We love seeing the new additions.

After the passing of bob (my first succulent), this app more than filled a void. We’ve especially grown to appreciate the permanence of Fiori (my very full pot of plants in this amazing app). Generally though its a relaxing experience that somehow never gets boring. Its also gorgeous to look at!

We tried it cause our sister recommended it for our ADHD to calm down and we spent a whole 2 hours in a car playing this game while going. We really enjoy the time and effort you put to make this game. Best part ad free!

We love this app but we dont understand the singing function at all. If you could add music we think it would be a really cool addition.

We liked this app for giving us an extra place to go when we’re anxious, and it’s been super pleasant altogether, but today there were bats and it made us finally write a review. The app is easy to use, very calm colors and nice music (that will play under other sounds, we believe. We’ve been listening to podcasts with it open and it just adds nice background music). We love the snail that circles the pot, and we love the descriptions that come with seedlings. The modeling is simple but definitely not underdetailed, and we love the way your plants develop. Sometimes there are leaves falling in the small space of the world your plants occupy, sometimes the colors change. But today there were bats flying around our plant and it completely made our day. There are tiny bats in our little calm world. We love it. Edit: our plants are gone ! We suddenly have the same pot style but all of our grown up plants are replaced with random types of seedlings. We were trying to find a way to start a new or additional pot, regardless, but just that it wasn’t our choice, just a bug, makes us sad. Additionally, we would like some more explanation for the menu controls, since we have no idea what half the buttons do. Either way, we still love the app, it just needs some bugs worked out !!
