Community Insight:

The only thing that beats this is real pool. If you are a pool player GET VIRTUAL POOL 4.

This is our favorite version of virtual pool. It has it all and is worth way more than $3.99. This is truly a simulation of real pool. It can improve your game and you will learn how read a table for your best chance to run out. Beginners and novices will learn how to aim the fundamentals of pool that can be translated to a real table. Nothing comes close to this. You have to actually know how to really shoot or he willing to learn. And thats a very good thing. Unlimited pool for a few bucks. You cant go wrong. Other games on the market are all flash and little skill involved. This is the real deal.

Being a life-long player we have found this app to be absolutelythe best possible app ,period ! It is so life like and realistic. The table and balls are good sized .Side -spin works great . Whether playing by yourself A simulated player or tournament it is a real pleasure . Not to mention all the skills you can realistically practice – until you get to a physical table .thank you Virtual Pool 4. We'd like to add it is a fantastic game , (great mental practice .) Don't think you are going to beat their pros every time though! They come up with unbelievable shots and suddenly , you can't get shape or make a 3 inch straight in shot! Haha! Still a super pool game.

We turned on virtual pool tonight and we like the visual upgrade. Some thing we didnt expect to see in the game this old. However we are disappointed that you remove the button that lets you skip ahead rather than wait for all the balls to bounce around. Ordinarily we dont use it that much but when Im playing CurlyOr someone else and the round is clearly leading to us being wiped out. We prefer not to sit through every single shot waiting for balls to settle into place. Waiting for balls to stop spinning..Sometimes we just rather get to the end of the game to see if we stand a chance at some point. If Im going to have to wait through every shot on every game with every opponent we may find ourselves not playing.

Virtual Pool has a long history (since 1995) of being the best, most advanced, and most realistic pool game for computers. This app carries on with that tradition. The game play on our iPad Air is smooth as silk, with gorgeous graphics and excellent physics. Campaign play is fun and challenging. Just about everything is configurable. If you're hoping to capture the feeling of real pool play, and maybe even improve your real-life game…this is the app to get.

This is great to be able to play Virtual Pool again, the masse shots are tricky with iPad and there is a lot that is more complicated playing on iPad than on computer, but it's great fun. There is no sound on the videos or on the game in general, even when the sound is turned on in the game and the iPad has it's sound on. We wish that were fixed, but we love the game anyway.

We've been playing VP3 and VP HD (mobile) for many years. We still believe they are the best billiards games you get. But we're disappointed with this VP4 as there are glitches, mainly freezes, that shouldn't be that hard to fix and the sounds are not as realistic as in the previous games. On the other hand we like the updated graphics, new tournaments, and the ability to upgrade cues.

Great graphics and realistic play; you can get into a tournament that goes on and on, which we find fun. Good tracking of your stats. However, at least in our play, there just comes times when the game won't let you take your shot. Very annoying and nothing seems to remedy it. Eventually it "let's go" and you can shoot again, but you have to continually re-line up your shot. Buggy. Virtual Pool has been around, however, since the '90s, on PC. An oldie but a goodie…just fix the glitch.

This is much more challenging than the HD version! The opponents are much tougher and can routinely play good safes and set up break shots in straight pool. The ghost balls seem to be off a bit. You'll miss a lot if you use this aid.

We bought the full game last night Last update was 8 years ago, last update for the iPhone was 2 weeks ago. That tells us that Celeris cares more about Virtual Pool 4 on the iPhone than the iPad. You have three play modes. Quick Play, Pro Tour Career and Hustle Career. We like the Quit Play the best because you can turn on or off the aim line or tracking line or the ghost ball, we prefer not to have any of those on because it's more fun and more challenging, not so much with the other two. There's an option for the aim line so you can turn it on or off but the off feature doesn't work, so it stays on all the time we're OK with that. The tracking line you can turn it on and off and that works fine but with the ghost ball there is two option to turn it off but that doesn't work so it's always on very annoying. As for the ball physics is not perfect particularly the Cue Ball it seems to travel further causing the Cue Ball to scratch more often than it should. As for the camera angles, you can set the camera angle for instance after the computer player shoots the a ball for a side view or end view at about a 25 to 30 angle that show the whole pool table but you can't do that for the human player so you have to zoom out with your fingers or use the top down view camera angle which we don't like.

We have never scratched the cue as much as we have in this game. Holy crap. We have nearly thrown our iPad across the room in frustration a few times. The cuestick acceleration is very exaggerated as well, but you will never break as hard as the computer, which routinely throws the cueball off the table and across the room. Its a good game, itd just be nice to adjust these things.

While Im still a fan of the game, the physics are fundamentally broken. The cue ball has more travel than on any pool table in the world and behaves more like an air hockey puck than a cue ball. If they could fix that with the cue balls tendency to keep chasing a ball into a pocket Id bump our rating up to four stars.

How about the option to turn off tracking lines, Geniuses! We have other versions of this game and can turn off tracking lines, otherwise it makes it too easy.

FIX YOUR GAME!!! Curly has now made 272 straight jump shotsnot just hit the object ball, hes pocketed 272 straight jump shots. The best 27 players ever have never pocketed 10 straight jump shots much less 272FIX YOUR GAME.

How can the same player miss too often, and then consistently make shots that no one can make. Too often put in a bad shot position while our opponent is not one game, and not in another. Stop trying to manage the outcome. The shots should be based on skill / probability of success, and not manipulated success.

Dont know what happened, but when the cue ball is close to the rail it is now impossible to shoot.

We like the new shark mode. But seems buggy. The targeting lines and ghost balls are all off. Just feels rushed. Doesn't play as smooth as Virtual Pool HD. Our first review they deleted. No support on main website for it either. 2/25/2017 still not working right. Cue ball lines to object ball do not line up. Ghost balls are useless. We are playing this on a current iPad Air 2. Just unplayable and not fun. Wish they would fix it. Trying to get our money back.

Until recently it was really great. Now, if the cue ball is even close to the rail you cant make a shot unless you lower the butt of the cue stick down to the point you cant even see the table top. Used to love the game now its not enjoyable at all. We gave it a one because we had to to write a review. Fix the problem and it will be a 5 again.

We get no sound an either of our iPads for this game. Also, this is missing a lot of Virtual Pool 4 is supposed to have. No saving match replays, none of the training videos, no turning off or on track lines mid-practice, no take shot at selected force option, no free mode/trick shot setup, etc. We could go on, but we think the point is clear. This is NOT the Virtual Pool 4 most of us have played on PC. The fact that this is a tablet version is no excuse, considering how old this game is and how weak PCs were back then compared to iPads today. This should be called Virtual Pool 4 Lite, NOT Virtual Pool 4.

They have ruined this game. They should be ashamed to sell this one. We had the last version of virtual pool and loved it. This one is a discrace. So much for progress.

The only reason we bought this is because a friend said it had one pocket. Why have one pocket on the computer version but not the version on the App Store? Just wasted our $ because we're only interested in one pocket.

Stunning on the retina screen. Used to play this on our computer, very fluid play on the ipad. The best.

This is such an amazing game! If you love to play pool online, download and play it now! Highly recommend.

It mostly crashes on our iPad 3 and pro , 3 cushion game never worked and exit the game :(.

App crashes. Never worked, AUGH, bummer…and we paid $4.99. We hope they fix it soon. Love their other pool apps.
