Hear from the Players – VPET Gen2 Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about VPET Gen2:

This takes us back to when we were a kid. We remember playing with our digimon, walking around and having no idea what we were really doing because we didnt read how to play. This reminds us of that time.

Whenever we want our pet to battle someone online, its always stuck on loading. We dont know if anyone even plays this game anymore and if there are people we can battle with but we need to have our pet battle and win a certain amount of fights to get the perfect stage evolution! Please make it so that we can fight a computer players pet instead so that we can hopefully evolve him! Another suggestion we have is adding an encyclopedia that unlocks different pets as you evolve into them, with their picture, their name, maybe a cool little description, as well as what you need to do to acquire this character, like how much training it needs or how many care mistakes you need to make, as well as which character you need if you want to evolve into this character.

We love this game, we are addicted. Would love a version that let’s us design our own v-pet. We know it likely won’t be made but if it were if be willing to pay 4-7$, maybe even 9-10 if other things were added, like more vpets, more interacting with other players, more ways to train, and making avatars.

… We cannot say enough good about this app. We really like how the VPet sleeps at night in REAL TIME instead of when you turn your light off. For example, Hatchi doesn’t feature real time sleep schedules and it ruins the game’s realistic-ness and makes it less immersive, whereas this one eliminates that issue. We really cannot recommend a different app for you, dear reader.

They should make a VPET Generation 3, and you guys are doing a great job, reminds us of digimon.

Fills the digimon void without breaking bank. The pause feature is also a really nice touch when watching a movie or you know you tend to sleep in.

Game everything is up to date, didn’t mind paying 1.99 for it, the only thing this game needs is a better battling system been trying to battle another player for about two days now and we’re getting nothing maybe a list of gamecenter names who play someone should start this, but still worth 5 stars,

You can’t see their names please fix that.

We’ve been looking all over online trying to find out the name of our pet but we have found nothing! You should have a status page or something that tells the name and battle stats.

Fun An reminds us of our old Digimon. Battles don’t seem to work. It just searching for player and uh, nothing ever happens. Kinda takes away from the whole idea of raising a virtual pet and having them fight others pets. Soooo what’s the deal??

The energy bar is empty even though he sleeps for 8 hours.

IOS told us that the developer needed to update this game because it would slow our phone down (!) and then it immediately sent us to download a game that didn’t exist. This all happened before we even started playing the game. Please fix this broken mess.

It wont open. Keeps crashing. Want our money back.

Literally opens then closes before we can do or see anything on our ipad… This is annoying.

Great game, as was its predecessor. Very true to its retro roots, and all-around enjoyable. It’s also a good change for those who did not appreciate the difficulty of the last iteration, as it feels a bit easier to us. The difference that affects this version most is that the training game is random now, as opposed to the skill-based game in Gen1. Sometimes we find that annoying, and at other times, a relief. Anyways, thanks much and take care! (get it? "take care?" :P )

This is great! Finally able to play what we wasn’t able to get when we were a kid!

Loving this. Brings back such a wonderful part of our childhood.

Just needs more training mini games.

We had the vpet when we were younger it was almost the same as this we feel you need to feed it a little more the the original seeing like 4 feeds fills up 1heart but its still fun and we’re not complaining thanks for an really cool app.

Reminds of being a kid again raising a digimon with all our friends. Nostalgia to the max!

We have played the first version and still love it and this version is just as good even better. Can’t wait until the next update or the next evolution of the vpet app. Congrats guys keep up the excellent work.

Just like we remember! We almost bought an actual one for $20, but this is much better. We love how it will tell you what your pet needs.

Great game. Bringing back awesome memories :’D.

It’s a really great game haven’t played it since we were a kid u should get it if u love retro games.

It’s a great flash to the past!!!

Fun app. Only issue is our vpet goes to sleep around 7:00. Would like it to go to bed later.

We really like it almost matches original just wish it came with evo chart.

This game, along with vpet gen1, are both great recreations of the ’97 Digimon Virtual Pets that nearly everyone walked around with during those days. The Training option for this version is actually a recreation of the generation 1 Digimon, which makes it much more engaging to train instead of just watching a bar line fill up to 100% like in vpet gen1. In this version, you square off against a ghost digimon and shoot high or low and try to evade his block. Everything else is just your typical up-keep of your monster and then the online battle option. Nothing new… Just the same. The only thing that has been changed that we think everyone agrees with is the pause option. This was definitely needed for today’s society and helps playing an "up-keep" game like this much easier. Now you can be a kid and an adult at the same time in normal daily life. :) (Message to Developer: You are impossible to contact and must change this. There is already a hacker screwing up your game and leaderboard stats and we have gone out of our was to see him dealt with through Apple. They said it’s your responsibility so you might want to hop on that. If you don’t, your game ratings will definitely fall when more and more hackers show up and ruin the competitive edge your game inherited through its ideal predecessor. Deal with "shahrizal md eser" immidiately. Thank you, and again, create a route for people to contact you.)

These really are excellent recreations of the classic toys. We highly recommend both gens of vpets. Hatchi is also a decent pet, but these are more like the classic tamagotchi/digimon. If there’s ever a gen3 we’ll buy it on launch :)

Some of the monsters look horrible.

We always had an attraction to digimon, but to own one this is the alternative. Still brings back memories of the digivices. 4 out of 5.

This game is a must-have! It is really fun to raise your VPET. Although, the lack of tutorials brings this game down to 4 stars.

Great app.. Anyone want to battle send us a request martianman87.

Seems to be exactly the nostalgic little game we were hoping it would be:)

We never owned a Digimon pet back when they came out. It’s great to be able to have the chance to experience it again. It’s a lot of fun to raise a v-pet, and the pause feature is great since they require a lot of attention. Our only complaint is that it’s hard to find enough battles to properly raise the pet.

Very nostalgic but the fact that other apps can eat at your pets life line is Not cool. But good app.

Very cool app it brings us back to our childhood memories :) Only thing we wish there was more food and also explains how to get the energy But other than we love it :)

We got this app because you’re able to battle with friends and on the tamagotchi one you can’t. We have t been able to yet (he has to grow bigger first). We understand that the point is for it to be all pixelated, but really? It’s hard to tell what’s going on because it’s so pixelated. We wish they would get just slightly better graphics.

Great app, but it reset when we didn’t tell it to!!!

The game at first has a real nostalgic feel, until the vpet is taking craps every 5 minutes and gets hungry and lose strength way to fast. It should only lose strength and get hungry only about every 1.5 hours. Fix that and put an evolution chart and the game would be way better.

Good for nostalgia but could be better.
