Community Insight:

We played the original in the early 1980s on our familys Apple II+. It took us forever to complete the first game- proving grounds of the mad overlord. When we finally did it was very satisfying. Our father, doing a nice thing, got us the next installment knight of diamonds for Christmas. Wow, great we thought! It allowed/required you to play the first game to port the characters that survived the first game to play the second game. Sounds cool, but we lost interest in the second game shortly after starting it. We had become burned out on rpgs as a teenager. Luckily, back then, just about everyone still played sports in real life. And we would eventually return to Wizardry and other rpgs. Your game is a nice trip down memory lane for us. Thank you very much for making this game.

This is a remake of the first wizardry game. Simple interface and no graphics but its nice to have wizardry on the go. Thank you.

Really hopeful about this. Downloaded and reinstalled twice, freezes when we click on ok to do anything at all. Happened on iPhone 11 and 13 …. Having seen something similar, we believe it is due to your advertising mechanism.

Wow. We played Wizardry 1 as an 8 year-old the year it came out. Loved it. This is a very good replica but its flawed in a few ways: spell names are arbitrary (silence makes sense but vajra doesnt). Without documentation, its hard to learn what each spell does. Items are often misspelled (ring of thunger is related to thunder and Im not sure what blin or blain refer to blind?), saving is simple but restoring is VERY confusing. Sometimes it works, usually it doesnt. Occassionally characters just disappear from the training grounds. It doesnt happen often, though. The levels arent exactly like the original, which is okay. But there are way too many teleporters on several levels. It makes it a little silly to try to walk around. And we could be wrong but it seems like the dungeon map levels go 1,2,3,4,8,9? Anyway, Im enjoying it and using Murphys Ghost way too often. Oh and theres a Valkyrie class which must have snuck in from Wizardry 5 or something. As far as we can tell its just a better Lord (amazing fighter, good priest). You can have parties with mixed alignments (good, neutral and evil) so as far as we can tell, alignment doesnt matter too much except for switching classes later. If you switch classes from a spell-caster, your spell points will change to all 3s. Cant remember if that happened in the original game.

We love the Wizardry remake and feel. Its not a complete replica but close. We would love to see monster graphics and treasure and chest graphics like the original but its not crucial. What is crucial is the major bug when you identify items at the shop and the game closes. Definitely save your game before doing this or all your achievements since the last save will be lost! Also the combat mis spellings are very annoying. Names like dwalfs, alps, balon armors, and many misspelled or just made up names take away from the game since there are no graphics of any of them to give a clue of what things are supposed to be. As a game designer ourselves and old school Wizardry fan, we appreciate the work it took to bring this game to life. We are giving it 3 stars for that. If there was no major bug at the shop for identifying items and better English translation and grammar, we will give this game 5 stars.

Garbage with ads. We would pay for an ad free version. Also freezes because of the lame ads. Id give zero stars.

The game crashes when identifying items in Boltacs. If you have not saved before doing so you lose all progress. The sage class gets buggy when identifying. If you fail identifying something you cant identify anymore. No documentation. Stay away from this one.

This is one buggy program. No matter what we select from any menu the game freezes up. From character creation to settings. What good is a game you cant play.

We loved Wizardry and this app made our heart leap for a moment. But it locks right up and we cant create a character so we cant play it. Disappointing and moving on.

The text that describes the combat action goes by so fast that you can't read it. We wasted a lot of time creating a party and now we can't play the game.
