Hear from the Players – War of Eclipse Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about War of Eclipse:

Game Stew games are all pretty much amazing, this one starts out seemingly shallow and mysterious, but rapidly pens up and expands story and play tactics as you unlock more of the different ship, and scavenge for chips and upgrades. And the monsters attack your base unexpectedly, its challenging for sure but rewarding.

Its quite challenging in the beginning and addictive. However we feel like the gameplay could use a bit more mechanics or things to do. Id also like a way to end our turn early instead of firing every shot.

Im not sure what the issue is but when ambushed, the speed that the target moves at is just too fast to be hit. Wasnt like this in the past. Running on an SE 2020.

If you look at gameplay from previous years, youll see that the charging time for enemies and the speed for the aiming was very much slower. As soon as you get ambushed now, if the enemy is strong enough, you have very little hope of getting out of there alive. Its not even a grind to get the coins you need anymore, its just frustration to the point of quitting. But, instead of quitting their hoping youll buy their coins with real money even though you already bought the game. Well, they lost our business for any of their future games seeing as thell corrupt old ones they had made.

Easy gameplay, while still being interesting.

Fun, addictive and while a bit grinds it is fun to fight every single battle. We wish there was a summary screen of all your bonuses.

Well worth your money. Learning curves are hard, gameplay requires careful timing, but in reality the only downside is reinstalling if you wanna start over. Great game, and if you got a dollar or two to spare, you should buy it.

Wish there was a little more story.

This is a nice time waster! We wish directions were a little clearer and that you restart game from beginning.

Fun for a bit. A steep learning curve but when it comes together its fun. Some more explanations in what things and add ons/parts do would be helpful. It also needs a restart button to clear the data and start over.

Despite what some reviews say (likely fake ones we would guess), there is no story. Also, the game is designed to be impossible unless you pay money. Im fine with micro transactions to speed up gameplay, but when you are literally forced to pay money to actually play the game… No.

Brilliant game to play when you have a few minutes to kill. It gets very addicting!

We love this game, it’s a seamless battle game with beautiful, imaginative artwork that is original. Cool story and so fun to play. No idea how we fund this game but we’ve always kept it on our device when we upgrade! Highly recommend it.

Game mechanics very smooth, great game to have when you can’t use the wifi.

The most fun we had playing a iPhone game.

Another awesome app from this guys! They have a unique graphic style and simple -but fun- gameplay. Great job,

Been playing since we got it a few days a go. Easy to learn, and fun.

War of Eclipse combines several different elements of games in general, and it does so masterfully. It’s very enjoyable, if a bit aggravating with the difficult-to-hit marks. If we had one complaint, it would be that you can’t use a single piece of ammo on an enemy. In fact, when you upgrade your aiming count, you have to use that amount of ammo for every volley. That means that even if the enemy is at 5 HP, you still have to use 4 shells if your aiming level is at 4. Otherwise, this game is practically perfect in gameplay and storyline. I’d highly recommend it to anyone.

It is a fun game and is worth your time.

This game is really fun, and pretty addicting. A few things could be improved upon but we still give it 5 stars.

This game just goes on and on. We love the fact that it is possible to accidentally defeat the final boss!

We review this app every time it’s been updated and it remains the best app we’ve spent $.99 on with our iPhone. Challenging, but fair. It will keep you coming back for more time and time again.

It’s a nice simplistic game. Our only complaints are for the descriptions of items and meanings of the aspects of the game. There should be some in-game explanation or datalog with elaborated explanations. Otherwise the game is great fun. Could definitely put some hours into it.

Our new favorite obsession. Bang doll for lyfe.

We like this game a lot. It is simple and addictive with lots of monsters and equipment for variety.

The game keeps us up at night the graphics are perfect and the game never get old.

Cool retro Gameboy graphics with addicting game play.

The game is fun and it isn’t to hard to get things or go out of debt.

This game is insanely addictive! The RPG and strategic elements are incredible and plus we LOVE that they don’t penalize you for dying. Most games now a days when you die or you run out of "energy" you have to pay 99 cents to replenish your HP but this one you can change the in game money to repair your ship than pay it off later with in game money. That’s great! Awesome job devs!

There’s a few things here and there that could be improved upon, but all in all a very fun little game.

This game is super fun! We could play it forever, we recommend downloading if you haven’t already!!

We love this game. Simple combat, cool ships, and tons of cool monsters! Overall a really fun yet simplistic game, we definitely recommend it!

War of Eclipse is an excellent follow-up to the quirky Tower of Fortune. It retains the same unique and beautiful retro art style but exchanges the fantasy setting for a sci-fi theme and the slot machine mechanic for a timing gauge. The game thrusts you into a post-apocalyptic scenario where you are tasked with upgrading an airship used to battle demonic flying creatures who emerged from a devastating explosion. The gameplay, art, and sound effects are a winning combination. In War of Eclipse permadeath is left behind in favor of possessing negative currency which prevents upgrading until restored. The difficulty level is extremely challenging in this context but not unfair. This game gets our highest recommendation. Note also that we have not experienced any crashing or other issues on the 4S.

Great and innovative gameplay that is easy to learn and a pleasure to play. The upgrading system is fabulously done to be balanced and meaningful to the player and the enemies are diverse enough to be interesting yet common enough to become familiar. Only drawback? Not having a final prize to go after by beating all of bosses.

Maybe it’s just us, but we certainly feel like we’re apart of a crew of lone survivors, on a flying battleship with limited supplies. The intro of War of Eclipse definitely sets the atmosphere, allowing players to insert themselves within an alternate reality with ease. Where visible chaos is normal, with the common threat being Demons and Angels; who continually hunt for human prey. As you fight these different variants of angel/demons (think the series, Bleach) you get rewarded money to upgrade/repair your ship and to replenish ammo lost during "Story Mode" battles. War of Eclipse has two modes, which are Story and Survivor, but the differences are only that one (story), causes you to pay for repairs and ammo after battle, and survivor, you don’t. So, you’ll probably spend most of your time in the most obvious one in this case, as you are rewarded, pretty much equally in both. Again, maybe its just us and our imagination that ultimately finds this game to be rather fun. Straight retro, 2D, RPG, Gameboy-ish’, gameplay at its finest. Though, a player who lacks interest in such qualities in a game, or a bit of imagination to fill-in the blanks, probably wouldn’t dig it so much. Cool for the most part though. Simple controls (Accompanied by a short tutorial), simple gameplay, simple story.. Good game! For the most part, there are "cons" present, but these may also be perceived as potential "pros", depending on the type of gamer you are. The simple interface at times, becomes a bore, leading for long periods of leveling nearly impossible before boredom sets in. Also, the atmosphere that was wonderfully introduced does start to feel linear, not allowing for any form of further exploring your environment (I’m in a freaking spaceship as big as the sun, we wanna’ see it move aside from battle sequences); which is something that we definitely would’ve enjoyed. This game does have in app offers, but you aren’t going to bombarded by them heavily; if not, at all. No chance crashes thus far… But if you want to see your ultimate battleship without spending RTC (Real Time Currency), expect to grind really hard for upgrades, rewards, and trophies. 4/5 Pros: Good Story Bright concept/Feels Original Easy to pick up and play Fresh retro 2D artwork/visuals Cons: Lack of exploration Tedious leveling curve Limited in some way Replay Value: Moderately High ~Gamers of The New World~

This is really a great game, retro but engaging and sometimes frustratingly difficult.

Fun game that we’ve spent a lot of time on, though haven’t progressed a ton… IAP there and doesn’t buy you much. Could use less Ambushes or reduced repair… Etc – they can stack up and wiping and repairing puts a dent in coins quickly.

This is a great game, simple and addictive. It just needs slightly better documentation (what are all the buttons for and can we switch ships or careers midway through?) Stable with no bugs that we’ve seen.

This game has excellent gameplay as well as really customization.

Sort of a "Godzilla in the air" storyline, only with a multi variate group of monsters in a post-apocalyptic setting. A wide variety of ships, options, and equipment, with great pixel art.
