User Reviews on Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf

Looking for more information? Read a comprehensive review of Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf below:

Previous review is below. The problem has been resolved (resolved itself?) so we changed the review from 1 star to 4 stars. We enjoy this game a lot, am able to do pretty well without paying for any bonuses, but some glitches stop us from giving 5 stars. We were enjoying this game, a bit of a learning curve on how to customize the decks, but fun to do. Now it doesnt load. Tried uninstalling the game, restarting our device, nothing gets us past the loading screen.

When we went to play the game its said it needed to download some stuff and when it was done it immediately quiet the app and when we tried to play it, now when ever we try to play it the app crashes and wont let us play. But other than that the game is awesome.

We cant connect to the games servers and idk why we deleted and re-downloaded and we still cant and we really want to play it.

This game is like anything Games Workshop is about these days, destroying a good idea with greed. Bad enough they try to charge $30 for a 29 page book online, now they toss out a free game that you cannot get past the first stages on if you are unwilling to spend money to buy the power ups the game fails to give you so you can play. You cannot play this game and get anywhere with it without spending more money than the game is worth. GW needs to stop trying to rip people off. They should at least be bound by law to tell you that this game is not free and is a waste of time if you want to play a game without constant pressure to spend money on a flawed product. Great idea, failed application. As to the assumption that that somehow multiplayer helps you get over the pay wall and such, well in the few months we had the game we could never connect to multiplayer, once. We tried two or three times every log in and it never worked. So do not slam us with your bs about how it helps. This game also rips you off and the developers do nothing to fix the charge errors. Hey as long they are lining their pockets with your money why should they care?

Telling us cant connect when everything else on our phone works fine.

Im sorry, we didnt realize we were looking at space wolf when we posted the review. We thought we were looking at Deathwatch. Our sincere apologies. We love this game and play it all of the time.

Love the game especially after discovering Lueitn09’s youtube channel.

The game is pretty fun and appropriately challenging but its extremely difficult to improve your squad without throwing cash at the game. Id rather pay like $4.99 to download and have your characters progress through xp and not coins which are near impossible to get without paying for them.

A great game ruined by way too many predatory micro-transactions. Nonstop pop ups for $5 booster packs is hard to suffer through to get to the decent gameplay underneath.

No way to progress or win without spending a fair amount of money. While every business is out to make money, we can appreciate that, this game offers no way to progress or earn more credits apart taking on new missions and completing any bonus objectives that you havent. Im at the point in the game where the enemies are so numerous and powerful that we are simply destroyed. We have spent $40, which was mainly for credits used to upgrade our team and a few boosters. We are not going to continue to play a game that requires such an investment of money to stay reasonably relevant for a short time. The game IS FUN and we enjoy it. But the lack of repeat mission playing for any real benefit (yes, you can get forges for a card) but no credit of experience to raise our levels is a gross overlook by the developer. The idea is sound, fun game, looks good and lots of strategy. But the difficulty scaling coupled with the amount of money needed to upgrade units to the next tier, for us, takes away too much from the game to continue playing. Scale the difficulty better, allow missions to be replayed for credits.

This game is really fun for a while, then you just cannot do anything. Multiplayer never has anyone on. Challenges are super hard/require multiplayer wins to play. Missions can be played but after so many you just wont be strong enough to do anything and there isnt a way to get stronger. You could log in every day for 3 months and still not have made any meaningful upgrades. Essentially to continue you have to spend hundreds of dollars to upgrade your people. To put it in perspective, It takes roughly 200k credits to fully upgrade 1 marine. You get a max of 300 credits per day average if you watch 5 min of ads and get the daily login. It will take you 700+ days of daily play to upgrade 1 of your 6 marines regardless of how much extra you play. Great great game, would love to give it more money, but even $50 is meaningless overall in unlocking more gameplay. We really hope the devs make some tweaks. Even a monthly subscription would be fine just like all our other games, we realize you need to make money. Also wish you could restore purchases. We’ve played this game twice and dont have any way to restore our original purchases.

Game isnt starting and keeps telling us to check our WiFi. Our WiFi is fine we’ve reset the WiFi our phone and re installed the app and it wont start. Im on IPhone 8plus.

Downloaded the game last night and enjoyed it. Now it tells us we have to check our internet connection although safari works perfectly.

You hit a paywall about 3 hours in.

Recently this game app started crashing every 4 minutes like clockwork. Big fan of the play and will change review upon fix – we’ve already submitted a notice to the helpline.

We downloaded and started playing about 3 weeks ago and as with most of the popular card based strategy games we knew we would have to make in game purchases in order to advance. While this game does have a couple of short PvE campaigns, the most rewards and gameplay center on levelling up and being able to compete in PvP battles. Unfortunately, despite all we have paid to advance in all of the times we have gone into the PvP queue and waited to matched to participate in a battle we have only been matched twice. Not being able to get into PvP has also affected us not being able to do special weekend PvE events since we dont have enough PvP battles or wins to participate without paying even more for the privilege. Over the past couple weeks we have filed several bug reports and e-mailed the dev several times. All of that got us just a single reply with a suggestion to restart the game, something we had already done several times before even reporting problems. At this point we have just uninstalled the game and recontacted the dev and Apple which acknowledged app exploitation had occurred, regarding a refund. Failing that we will have to challenge the charges as being fraudulent from this game with our credit card company!

Being new to Warhammer myself, this is a great way to start things out.

We are about to give up on this game. It is so biased it isnt funny anymore. In Arena mode 95% of our so called evenly matched opponents are easily 2X our levels at all 3 of our sacrificial Wolf Marines. We dont mind fighting a stronger opponent, just not every battle. Any battles in the other scenarios get old watching the computer troops gaining strength and more powerful EVERY times level is fought for. If you cannot win 1st or 2nd attempt you are trapped forever fighting stronger and stronger enemies. Just another pay to win no skill or strategy war game.

The percentages are garbage. Pay attention to what should be killing blows vs the percentage printed. This game is not truthful. To prove the disingenuous nature of the game, they change the perspective at the same moment they give attack and damage results. Making it impossible to see what they were.

This game would be so much better if we could play it whenever we wanted. This game requires a constant internet connection to play, which keeps us from playing on long trips or flights, where an internet connection is not the best. We wish we could just pay for the whole game download it one time. It is especially annoying since we know that is how this game is sold on other platforms like PlayStation. As for the game itself, we really enjoy the combination of card play and XCOM like game play. The progression and 40k story is enjoyable as you unlock new classes and characters. We would give it 5 stars if not for what we said above.

Last update had the Area play keep skipping our turn.

Will change after bug fix of whatever is causing the connection issues. We are logged in and it just says it is disconnected from the server and then re-plays the intro video over and over again.

Very good yes woow gameplay nice.

There should be a DLC in which you can create your own scenarios in a certain selection of maps. We should be able to use all factions featured in the campaign. We know gamers absolutely love that stuff and spend for it.

The game is fine, until you reach the absurdly unwinnable mission in round 4. We know this is meant to be a pay to play game at heart, but even with steady purchases of upgraded weapons and gear along the way, the scenario is simply impossible. Im disappointed at the amateur attempt to compel players to spend significant $$ to buy their way out by elevating the difficulty tremendously at such an arbitrary point. Why not be honest, make the first few levels free to play as a way to build legitimate interest in the game overall, and then introduce a paywall for people who enjoy the premise, and choose to go further? The suddenly unbalanced scenario ends up looking like a badly designed game, rather than a typical freemium model in action. We wouldnt spend additional $$ now, because obviously the developer could decide to create another illogically difficult mission that is in actuality a poorly rendered paywall at any future moment. And if customers are foolish enough to pay once – then surely the devs will expect them to be foolish enough to pay again (and again). Finally, unless this is one of those instances of a maker pulling a fast switch on everyone after a game receives official endorsement as a way to juice revenue under the radar, this shouldnt be an Editors Choice title. Id frankly like our money back now for purchases we were previously happy to make along the way, because in retrospect, they were dishonest about the basic model for the game from the beginning.

This game is over 12 years old. We know because we start playing it 15 years ago. Its a piece of Garbage because: 1) we spent over $1200 (average $100 per year) on buying improved weapons. 2) The developers allowed themselves to nerf all the good weapons that we bought at an expensive cost. 3) The game started with 3 characters to improve over the past 12 years but last year it introduced a 4th character (Skywarrior) to purchase that is overpowered that it forces everybody to restart purchasing the new character or lose every battle. Conclusion: Its a Money Trap! You will spend money on improving your character only to see it nerf by the developers!

Just like the title says we love the game we played every day we’ve spent money on the game but we cant do that if we cant download it so if someone would like to reach out to us, that would be awesome.

We bought a pack for a specific character and afterwords the game glitched out. It restarted from the beginning and glitched it again keeping us from being able to play on the linked account. To play the game at all we had to completely delete it and play as a guest to just play the game. Trying to send a message it wouldnt accept the security code thing so we couldnt get even try to get this issue fixed to be able to play the game with the character we had payed for. The game itself is great but issues like this make it really hard to want to keep playing, having to start over, feeling like any money spent is wasted.

New update game crashes on launch IPhone XS.

With new update game crashes when we open the app on iPhone 7+

We love Warhammer 40k 100/10 so the most perfect game, with very few bugs.

Since yesterday, every time we open the game, it is not the correct ID, but a wrong new ID. All the game records are gone, and the game starts again from the first level. We’re sure we’re using the correct game center account, but our game record is missing. Our virtual assets in the game, including gold coins, characters and equipment, have disappeared. We reported this error online and applied to restore our game record, but we haven’t received a reply for more than one day. We don’t know whether it is the server failure or the reason why the game company received the hacker attack? Is the reply particularly slow because many accounts have such errors?

You cannot progress in game without spending real money. Once you get to chapter 3 you really cant do anything until you level up your guys. You can only get in game currency by either buying it or beating a level and since you cant level up your guys you get stuck. Great concept. Poor execution. Also the in game currency costs way too much. You can get coins by watching ads but its less than 100 each time and takes at least 2k to level once.

Its already on every console make it playable with a controller!

App still crashes a lot. Will glitch out, restart, and dead enemies are magically alive. And with latest update, enemies have ridiculously high health and regenerate to the point of making the game infuriatingly unplayable. Will be deleting unless its rebalanced again. Just not fun. Infuriating.

The story is great, the equip is great well done on tgis one for sure.

Apple needs more games. Very limited on game selectionkinda like they have a monopoly or something.

Fun and replay able, fits 40K lore and aesthetic.

It seems to like to crash alot, and we have no idea.

Im enjoying the game. We took our time with it and wanted to learn the game before spending money on it but all the best deals expired before we knew what any of it could really do. Other then that its been a pleasant experience. Having 30 cards is somewhat difficult to manage because none of it seems to be organized in a way that you can pick what cards you will have when. Might be more fun later on when you have tons of items for every situation. Im already operating with a handicap trying to play games in Georgia hate crime agenda because all of our technology is sabotaged and we dont get to communicate with anyone.

Its an amazing game and we love how the caricatures look and how the game plays. We understand this is for wolfs only but what if their were more factions you could play the the longer u play the more factions are opened up. Like the ultra Marines, imperial fist the Raven guards, blood angels,Angels of death and even all the way up to custodies and the god emperor. Or big warMachine this game has so many opportunities to become better even being able to have ships and drop pods and dreadnoughts. Thats all.
