Warhammer Quest 2 Reviews

We really like this game, wished there were more areas. You can beat the first area with the default characters. We would like there to be an export map (but thats just a personal preference).

Has great replay value and we are glad we purchased it! You wont be disappointed if your into turn base strategy roll playing games.

Very fun game, reminds us of playing hero quest as a kid with our family!

Love this game. Old school tactics with improved mechanics and effortless gear maintenance.

We had to buy a couple characters early but very fun game good sequel.

The game was fun. We thought it played much smoother than 1. Less gimmicks to get stuck in. Less unfair ambushes. But we found this to be too easy. We just soloed the final boss level. Just give us a higher difficulty mode so that there is the risk we might actually have some deaths.

If this is to be a sequel to the first the mechanics should be similar. Where the first follows the basic rules and mechanics of the board game from the 90s the second seem to be more like the dungeons and dragons mechanics which wouldnt be bad but it just wasnt what we expected. The there is the issue of the difficulty level skyrockets to fast. We get that they do that to get you to make in app purchases. Personally we would rather pay a few dollars upfront than be buckled and dimmed. We are also not crazy about the characters maybe we are just to hung up on the original. We have tried to get into it several times mostly because the original wont work with the current iPhone version. We truly hope the newWarhammer quest silver tower is closer to the original.

Overall the turn based play is pretty decent and the different character classes offer some nice variety. Its fairly straightforward but with some tactical depth. The overall game is pretty short and can be finished in a few hours before needing to buy more dlc. Considering its $5 to get initially and $3 to unlock each character class beyond the initial ones, and another $5 for each of the next story portions its pretty expensive IMO.

This game in order to play with the 6 additional heroes you must pay 18 dollars. Also, another 10 for the 2 other areas to quest in.

This game is incredibly difficult. No easy mode and you get killed all the time.

So Im giving this title 5 stars because of how well polished it is. Micro-transactions are minuscule but the ability to kit your party out with new archetypes is very nice, much like new characters in MOBA type games. The beginning. Party we have seems very well balanced, we typically have several ways to take a battle s scenario. Im very fond of this turn based system, we get most of the info we need on enemies by just tapping them. Movement spaces seem fair, the maps have some interesting chokes and cover to use, and the enemies we have fought seem to be well balanced and challenging provided you think before you act. Load speeds are insanely fast and you really can just breeze through the non combat portions, and for a $5 mobile game everything looks beautiful. Im going to have to recommend this to any Warhammer fan because the plot line is thick and text rich, giving the player a generous amount of reading without really dragging anything out.

Battle flows. Low lag. Challenging but winnable. Worth the effort and less than a cup of Starbucks.

Every fight scene looks very similar no matter where you are, they are all dungeons . This is very reminiscent of the game Hunters.

Not too far in but so far it is much improved RNG and gameplay. We do have items that claim to give an action point but our pool does not increase though….

Our game crashes after a certain amount of time. We dont lose gameplay, but its becoming annoying to have to open it up again. (UPDATED 11/22/2019) For Update version 2.404: game still crashes after playing for only a few minutes. We bought a map extension and characters and our game still crashes. Its very annoying. :(

This was our favorite mobile game until we fell victim for this games money trap. After beating the first set of challenges (without DLC) we were disappointed at the lack of more difficult dungeons to play. Naturally we download the DLC looking for a challenge (because we highly enjoyed the raw version of the game), only to find out the next levels you purchase are for beginners! All that grinding for nothing. From one avid Strat player to another: save your time. Or simply play to only beat the first 10 challenges (dont get invested).

Considering that the first version, while available, isnt being supported anymore this is the next best thing. The game does not have the challenge or the charm of the first one, but it is very slick and professionally presented. Other than the Warhammer license there isnt much to set this game apart from a horde of competitors. In short, not bad… But also not great. Could have really capitalized on people coming to it as fans of the tabletop game instead of another generic fantasy turn based dungeon crawler.

We enjoy the game, and we enjoy the strategy. We havent wiped yet in the game, but we’ve frequently had characters die and suffer with injury. We love that the game can be high risk and punishing (but not too punishing with time gates that you pay off with real life money). The game just needs polish. 1. Some abilities dont include all of their info in their skill description – like their range, uses, or if they friendly fire. Some stats, like crit rate, are a mystery. 2. The game crashes a lot. 3. If you are a min-maxer, then you might find this game frustrating. There is a lot of rng in stat points. Leveling gives your character a random stat increase, which would be fine if they wouldnt give intelligence to your characters that cant use spells. Id appreciate a service to reassign stat points for a gold cost. Also, some recruits of the same class have more base attribute points than other recruits of the same class of the same level. We wish this was more obvious with a representation of X/5 stars or something. And, maybe have a mechanic to merge recruits of the same class into one recruit with more stars. For now, we have to add up all of the stats (and divide the health by 5), then subtract that number by their level to find out their base value. Thats too much math and memorization for us to bother with buying a recruit with higher base value at a tavern.

If you love nurturing raw recruits into heroes, carefully deceloping a solid team, coordinating attacks, and carefully spending gold to gear them up, you will love this game. If you enjoy grinding for minimal gold, killing endless rats and spiders, having your characters destroyed by random in between dungeon events with zero chance of survival*, you will love this game. *two level 5 characters against FOUR Stone Trolls in a travel ambush! Our characters had 15hp each. The Trolls had 100 each, regeneration, and resistances. Why even play it out? Just have the game randomly state Your two best characters died because screw you! The crappy loot mechanic is clearly designed to entice you to pay your way to win then they kill your toons outright to get you to pay more real money to try to replace them. Also- certain classes are completely gimped in later levels. So you wind up gearing/leveling the wrong ones. Glade Guard rocks in early levels and is worthless later. Do yourself a favor. Play Warhammer Quest 1. A lot better in practically every regard while still challenging.

Ambushes in dungeon happens way too often, acquiring handi caps to characters, if injured until leveling. Leveling requires GOLD! New Skills require gold, weapons and new characters. (There is a small chance on finding RANDOM characters, skills, and weapons) some game mechanics dont function properly Like the ambushes or difficultly of a dungeon. This is absolutely a free micro transaction game, in a paid for game guise. We dont mind purchasing things in some MT games. If this game was free to DL we would give it a higher score, but we hate marketers who mislead for profit!

Cant get past second encounter.

We were really excited to dig into this game – its mechanics brought us back to ancient days of fun playing Shard of Spring and Demons Winter. Then the ambushes started. They are totally RNG based and throw a bunch of trash mobs at you seemingly every 3 or 4 turns. Apparently this was added in a patch, and when we checked the forms we read higher level players complaining about how annoying it was. Let us tell you that whats annoying to high level payers is fatal when youre starting out with level 1 toons. After reloading the third dungeon 3 or 4 times in hopes of finally not getting 5 trash mobs magically appearing in the midst of our frail characters, we gave up and deleted the app. TLDR: get a DOS emulator and play Shard of Spring. Game mechanics are the same and Shard is way better balanced.

Played the game for a few days then it refused to load. Uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times which didnt fix the problem. Emailed the developer and got no response. We feel robbed. We want a refund, to anyone reading, dont buy this game!

Cant seem to level up and characters get injured and negatives dont seem to get removed. The original version was more enjoyable and this is a poor imitation.

Bought it, bought the dlc, destroyed 10 missions…. Wait thats the whole game? Theres 10 lousy missions in the entire base game. Started on the first dlc but was too bored to continue. Would not reccomend!

We tried really hard to like this game.. We played warhammer as a kid so we thought Id give this a go. Heres the upside: the gameplay itself functions smoothly without bugs, that we’ve encountered at least, the story is good if you like the warhammer world, the combat and game mechanics play well and for the first couple dungeons its interesting. The down side you ask?…. After about two Dungeons youve basically played the whole game with exception of monster type and a few hero advancements. The gameplay is in incredibly repetitive and easy, we never once felt our group of basic characters were in danger in the least the game just becomes un interesting if its just clear this room, move to the next rinse repeat finish. In order to play as any of the non 5 (I think) classes offered with the purchase you not only have to pay real money, but then buy them in game…. Lame…. Especially if we dont know if we want that class or not. EVERYTHING IS RANDOM!!! And we mean everything. Character advancements, random, items at that shop, random, characters available, random… The end result is that the player has to tediously wonder the map in search of something they actually want to play with…. Who the hell thought this would be fun? We think the bottom line is, This had potential to be a great strategy board game and it just ended up being tedious, random as hell, and repetitive as hell…. As well as leaving the player feeling scammed by not actually having access to the classes advertised….. If that sounds fun to you then pick it up…. If not save your money.

Good inspiration for rpg game.

Worthy successor of Warhammer Quest. Great visuals and audio. Nice range of characters and gear. Good campaigns. Currently has horrible crash bugs. From inventory screen, from dungeons. Every time we try to sell at market, it crashes. Fun while it lasts.

This games is incredibly repetitive with no real strategy to combat. You open a door, use the same heroes to kill enemies that all behave basically the same, then repeat. No variety or depth to dungeons or storyline.

We love the system and story line to the game. Its simple to play and seems very well put together.

This works just fine on our iPhone X. Anyone who’s a fan of the first Warhammer Quest by Rodeo Games will love this sequel. Newest update says the Grave Guard is released but Im not seeing him.

Turn based game, but the menu constantly gets in the way and the ambushes always seem overpowered.

$25 just to unlock the unit types? Thats insane…

Crashes every fourth dungeon. At least.

Impossible to play because nothing is legible. You need to double the size of the text. Glad we paid nothing for it, because thats what its worth. Design on a phone. You cant just put a desktop game down to a mobile.

Cant even play the game. Open the app only to meet a blank white screen that loads forever.

Literally on the second map of the game it becomes impossible to complete due to ambushes. Fantastic stuff guys.

Plays very well, good story line. Well done developers. From Time to time the game will crash? But that might be because of an older phone Im using? Over all the best game we’ve played.

Loved the first Warhammer Quest but didnt get this one when GW was killing the setting. This one seems improved & definitely seems to have more content. Worth it.

Wasnt sure since it was a new developer from the last one which was a blast. This new one has the same feel and style. Great game to strategize and crawl through. Found one big though with EC. If you change his shield multiple times in a dungeon it starts growing. In fact large enough to take up the whole screen. Makes it hard to see the board.

Love this game, but the only thing we would want is MFi controller support so we can play it on our tv. Thanks!

Skulls for the skull throne weekend comes and pc version gets tombguard but not mobile version sadface.

Intuitive is good because we dont read much! Cept gem or jewl. What is it with that? Is it a surprise for a later level? We want to know if we can trade them already.

Game play is simple and fun. Difficulty is unfortunately random so don’t get bummed if you get ambushed 5+ times in a row and lose on something you thought would be easy. Play with tactics in mind and all will be well.

So, this game looks awesome. Sadly the choices the developer made when designing the text in terms of script, size, and contrast make it impossible for us to read comfortably. We’ve been unable to find a settings option to increase text size. Seems a shame really.

Update: downgrading rating. While the graphics and setting are great, we really resent paying for a game that has business model which makes you pay to advance your characters. Dungeons become exponentially harder, and finishing them is how you earn gold to level your characters up (the cost of which also increases per level, of course). Shame on you Games Workshop. Original review: Like the title says, this game is tediously repetitivekill all spiders, Ambush! Okay, kill all nurglings, walk into next room… Except this time the ambush is beastmen. The game has a lot of potential, but immediately feels like an uninventive grind.

This game crashes so much that the insurance companies would have to label it a natural disaster.

We really thought this would be a better game, from the reviews and the description and the beginning of the game itself. Its just moving from one dungeon to another with the same boring formula in each one… Open door, face horde (1 to 2 of 3 different monster types), wash rinse repeat until you get to the end of the dungeon… Then do the same thing in the next dungeon. (yawn)

We sent two emails about buy gold, click on Facebook and Twitter to get gold. We never got gold to use and they have not responded yet. Been about two weeks.

Great graphics, music and FX. You have to sit through the scrolling intro text over and over and over again with each new game. Really lame. Game combat resolution is cheesy. The enemy can hit our character at maximum distance 3 times in a row with their arrows, yet our character can be in the adjacent square and miss twice in a row. Poor combat resolution balance. Some scenes are literally impossible to win, so why have them? One ambush scene the game removes one of our characters and then puts them into a scene that us not even remotely possible win. The camera tilt is almost useful but the angle is too small. This developer missed a huge game immersion feature here. The camera should be able to go all the way down to character level as is done in Demons Rise. Then youre in the game! And it appears that you have to suffer through the limited Tutorial with each new game. The game is stable though. Never crashed even putting it in the background a lot. Too many design flaws in the game not being resolved by the developer to waste over 2GB for. Regret spending the money. We think this game tries to ride on its good looks. We cant, in all honesty, recommend this game. We find Demons Rise way better and it has what this game either doesnt or didnt do well.
