Community Insight:
Great job, dev. We just wish Wedidnt run out of missles so soon. We dont get to play most of the higher levels , we just have to sit and watch our bases get destroyed while we do nothing. Reloads are kind of few and far between. Usually we have full bases and no rounds to defend them. Would be fun to play those rounds instead. Yeah, we know, manage missles better …. We try. It goes from playable to non-playable so quickly that it seems kind of pre-ordained. Some of the missles that come out of the sides toward the end are, there is no defense fast enough to intercept them in< 1 second. Right around the 700,000 mark, you can expect cheap shots, which arent much fun. Theres a point at which the game tries to end itself. Another anamoly is the nukes, which are mostly non-factors in the game. The shockwave propagates FAR too slowly to be of any help. The incoming warheads simply come in at they same speed of the shockwave. Its often the last item remaining Still, awesome game. Its very fun.
If you liked Atari 2600 missile command, youll looove this. Just do it.
Tried the free version of this game once, then immediately deleted that for this (ad free) version!! If you played Missile Command on the good old Atari 2600 VCS, you NEED to buy this modern remake!! This game is guaranteed fun and a "Must Own" for your game collection Recommended: YES.
Fun game. Very similar to missile defense, but you're actually playing four missile command games at the same time. If we had to nitpick we'd say the visuals for the explosions are a bit much and sometimes the smoke and sparks from one explosion can hide another incoming missile Still a great game though.
Extravagant display of pyrotechnical explosions, sure to keep your attention as you try to save your world from an ever increasing onslaught of enemy warheads. Realistic graphics and awesome sounding explosions! Test your Missile Command skills and see how you rate on a real global scale! Warheads can be as challenging as a game of chess, as you strategize your defense against each successive wave. Fast and furious barrages raining down from the sky create impossible odds to see how long you can survive and become a top defender! We love this game! Could be better if optional settings allowed a building to be restored after surviving a number of attacks, to stretch the defending time a little before your inevitable annihilation.
Super intense, love it during our free time.
Missile command on steroids AND crack lol! Love the voice overs, graphics, explosions, and sounds. Gameplay is fun and intuitive. It makes you want to keep playing.
There is lots to like about this game; the graphics are excellent, the sound track, and easy game play. We would love to see a high score feature, otherwise we have nothing to try to achieve when we're playing.
Very cool game. No ads (thank you developers), and our kids love it.
This game is a GREAT homage to Missile Command! The graphics, sound, and gameplay are a really nice update on Missile Command. The touchscreen lends itself perfectly to a game like this. Nothing like a "last stand" missile war game to get the blood pumping.
Our grandson loves this game. Fun for all ages.
As an old Missile Command fan from way back, we really like this game…great graphics and good gameplay. Highly recommended :).
If u like missile command you will love this game.
Awesome take on a great classic! Very addictive. Fantastic explosions.
This is a great remake of the classic Missile Command…but with excellent graphics, and no more trackball. Highly recommended.
Fire the missiles, save the buildings. Gets pretty insane if you keep playing. Fun to just pick up and go. Great explosions, looks excellent on the iPhone 5.
Warheads is just one of those games that takes an old classic like Missile Command and give it a complete makeover with beautiful visuals and sound effects.
There are few times when back in the day is revived, and it's actually just as good or better. This is one of those times! We remember being ADDICTED to this game as a kid, and now even more so. The music is perfect and the graphics put it over the top! We think the only thing that would make it more challenging is to add an option to choose a mode where all the sectors are being attacked, and you can choose the sector you want to protect at any given time. Imagine, firing off missiles in 4 different sectors… Of course, nukes coming sooner would be nice, they usually show up after incoming has blown up all your silos. WARNING: DO NOT GET THIS GAME UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO PLAY IT NONSTOP FOR AT LEAST A HALF HOUR!!! HAVE YOUR CHARGER HANDY AT ALL TIMES.
That's all. We think they should be rewarded for good fun.
Yet another simple game but suprizingly addictive and awesome. Great graphics good sound. It would be cool if they added some more power ups but we're sure they will. Really really good.
It's really good, but other than game center, there's no difference between this and the free version. So save your money.
This is a fantastic refresh of the old Missle Commander type of game. We're not usually big on taking an old game and just adding 3D but here it really works and the particles really add to the excitement. And it doesn't deter from the gameplay like many 3D "upgrades". One of our new favorites. Casual gaming at it's best.
Pangea we have all your apps, you have always provided free updates and Great games. You make the games and we will buy them. The store needs more developers like you.
Awesome game!!! Download it now.
Looks & Sounds Spectacular. Great for a Quick play. Performance could be better in spots but we doesn't kill the fun. We are hopeful for updates that will add open feint & some performance enhancements. But Definately Worth a .99 . Jeez think of all the quarters we dumped into the Arcade Original back in the days of yore.
This is an updated touch version of the vintage arcade game, Missile Command, and it does justice to the classic. On the iPhone or iTouch, it's a bit much packed onto a small screen with limited accuracy, but still fun for the price. On the iPad, it's an entirely different experience. This is a MUST HAVE for the iPad, especially at the current price of $0.99.
Great arcade shooter. We had a missed tap problem with a recent update. Shutting down our iPod and restarting cured it. We do wish the announcer would come up with some different lines–he gets rather repetitive.
Updated version of a fav old game of ours… Missle Command!!! What's not to love.
Warheads was great for the iPhone and now it supports the iPad and it is just amazing. The bigger screen makes the game so much more fun and unfortunately even more addicting :-) we love how authentic the game is with the space like voices. Great job pangea.
We don't know how the controls could be any easier good app but kinda gets old after a little while but worth 99cents.
After seeing mixed reviews we purchased this app. It is simply amazing. If you are looking for amazing explosions and the best graphics on iPhone this is for you! It has amazing visuals, and fun and easy to play controlls. One if our favorite games of all time. And we have had an iPhone since they came out. It's stunning.
Revised our previous rating from 3 to 4 stars, though we'd rather give it 3 1/2 stars. We discovered, after giving the game another chance, that you must hold your finger down for more than a brief touch for it to respond. So it's not unresponsive, just less sensitive than other apps. So while it's playable, it could be better. Still, what we saw the first time we played it was good enough to cause us to give it a second chance, and we'd love to see this app get some attention from the developer.
Graphics are awesome. Effects nice. Biggest short coming is that you can't start shooting missles until they are almost halfway down the screen. Some people complained about control response…this is part 1 of that problem. Part 2 is when you run out of bullets, we don't care how much you fire, the gun that ran out of bullets ain't going to do a thing. At first, this is frustrating, but we got used to it. If they fix it so that you can start shooting missles as soon as they appear on top, it would be a great game. Also, like in missle command, we're used to firing alot of missles at one time. Here it will waste your bullets promptly. If you are a missle command fan and you keep the above in mind, you will find that this is an awesome update of a classic.
Great game. Great graphics. A revamped atari game, classic.
Ah yes, finally our favorite game from Pangea Arcade has been released for the iPod. Warheads is essentialy Missel Command with a twist. There are four bases instead of one, allowig for longer and more intense gameplay. The graphics are stunning, however they don't match those of the computer version. They were even able to squeez in the original soundtrack, unlike Enigmo. The only downside is the slightly buggy performace. The game occasionally freezes for a second or two, but we're sure this will be resolved in future updates.
Can be fun initially buy it is really hard to get more than 1 million points as it is programmed to send so many missiles around that time that you just can't higher than that.
It's a well executed game and if you liked Missile Command you should check this out. We got kinda bored with it fairly quickly because there's no real objective other than to just see how long you can survive with limited ammo. But then again, we tired quickly of Missile Command too back in the 80's. Space Invaders was more our game.
We got the game, played it and was upset at the tap response. It seemed like some taps weren't registering.
This is a very fun game, and a very faithful port of the Mac version seen in Pangea Arcade. Unfortunately, it really needs some further optimization. The animation can get very jerky, and this gets much worse on later levels. The "reduce effects" option in Settings does not seem to make much difference. We're using an iPhone 3GS – it's the most advanced hardware Apple currently offers, so there isn't a lot of excuse for releasing a game that can't run smoothly. We're counting on Pangea to improve performance in future updates to this game.
Enigmo is still your best game and you should make more levels for that original as for this love the sounds and graphics just get rod of the screen movement so we can see the bombs coming from the extreme sides and alao so collectables or nukes to use when we want rather than shooting the box would be great.
Your standard missile command game with nice graphics and cool explosions. Doesn't save your place when you get a call or close the app though :(. We thought that was a standard feature these days. Also later into the game there's a lot going on and the game becomes somewhat unresponsive – when there's a lot more missiles falling that's a bad time for it. There's a setting for less graphics, but our 3gs should be able to handle it. 5 stars if they Implement saving state on close and improve performance.
A fun and challenging arcade, except it tends to miss launch taps, which is very frustrating. The missles also speed up when you are blowing up several, so they can sneak through. It also annoyingly asks you to log into Game central every time you start. We deleted it off our phone (again).
Dont waste your money, controlsare not responsive.
Fun game, good idea. However, the interface has a problem and the touch/tap does not work properly. This is the only game with this issue, so it's not the phone. Have to tap several times to get a missile to launch. Sometimes won't launch at all. Not a good situation.
Nice explosions but controls could be better. Frustrating and has not improved much even after we got used to it. Rather than making us want to beat our score it makes us want to delete the game. Will keep playing for a bit to give it a fair shot though. We hope they update and improve the controls.
The game's concept of having four bases with enhanced graphics was grand, however it was poorly executed. Slower game performance would increasingly evident as you approach the higher levels, despite having "reduced effects" enabled even using the 3GS. Also, ammunition powerups would not always give more ammunition, despite being achieved. Lastly, not sure if this was intentional or not, but a missile would approach from the side to take out the side missile platform, which we believe all the missiles should be coming from the top of the screen and not the sides. Classic mode, ability to change the number of bases, and backgrounds would be nice.
Haven't had a chance to even try yet due to it not opening. Crashes everytime.
