UPDATE: we’ve been playing for a couple/three months, and this is still the best game of this type we’ve played. It combines all of the best hooks from IAPs with none of the annoyances, including that you can play all parts of the game for free if you want to. You do a lot of farming, but its not overbearing. The game is so well done youll want to give them money. The single best thing is that the Devs and some of the original beta testers are still engaged with the game community. One or more of them will respond to comments and questions every day. Theyre also still tweaking and balancing frequently. That may change as they get bigger, but right now it sets the tone for a friendly, supportive environment without the exclusionary cliques in some games. We come back everyday for that sometimes. One thoughtful design element is that you can actually play this for free, without getting killed by ads and pop ups. Rather than forcing you to watch ads, they give you extra coins to do it. We thought the graphics were too cutesy when we downloaded this, but the great physics kept us engaged. Then we saw how the art design works, and now we get it. The game is engaging out of the box, and it has many, many entertaining ways to keep you hooked. Great physics? Check. Collector obsession? Check. Online challenges as well as campaign mode? Check. Daily and weekly challenges with special loot? Check. A zillion ways to spend in-game loot on power ups? Check. The characters youre not actively using can go off on timed missions to get loot. We enjoyed this so much we ponied up $9.99 for the Mr. Steemo to boost coinage (2-3 months in we’ve spent $25 on various things, still worth it) – we’ve gotten hours more entertainment out of this than the equivalent $$ for movies or other games.
Really fun and really free. You can buy power ups, but without spending money you can play quite a bit and go deep into the game. There are ads but they are optional and limited. Fun time!

By far the best free to play game we’ve played. Very rewarding and scaling rewards as you level up?! That’s how you keep loyal fans playing for a long time!! Great job!
This is a great game with an interesting concept. Good free to play model, but mannnn do the developers not understand physics and how a ball should bounce when it hits something at a certain angle. Sometimes shots wont go where the preview line is pointing to. Sometimes the shots will even pass through blocks without doing damage. Stupid errors like this really make us dislike the game when one of these errors gets us killed.
Even though we luv this game we bought a bagful of gems for 4.99 but it gave us a piggybank instead and that costed 5 more dollars so we spent 5 dollars on nothin and another 5 on somethings we didnt want so if your a developer and your reading this then please fix this.
We like the the upgradable characters/pods, not overly complicated stats for a mobile game and the reward of winning. We dont mind loosing at all by a difficult boss fight but what we dont like is half our health being drained because we cant break the 60 block thats 3 spaces away instantly putting us at a disadvantage. Its part of the game regardless. Just a nitpick: why do our attacks last when theyre below the grid? We have to press skip when Id rather have a fast game play. 9/10.
Part of the allure of numbers-based block breakers like BBTAN and Holedown, is that theyre accurate. Its rewarding to evaluate where the balls are going to go, then pulling off trick shots that clear multiple blocks. This requires the ball mechanics to be accurate, whether or not theres a visual guide involved. Warpods is cute, and we wanted to like it, but the core block breaking mechanic is pretty bad. Theres a visual guide that is almost always inaccurate – balls will not ricochet the way you expect them to. Due to the size of the balls, theres little to no room for finesse, and little granularity in setting up a shot. We think its missing the entire point of the mechanic. Go play Holedown, BBTAN, or others instead.
Honestly, we picked this out thinking it was just a ballz copy. But this game is amazing! Its fun to play and brings enough challenge to be fun, but not enough to be ridiculously hard. We find this the perfect game to kill time or have fun.
We were looking for a decent game that didn’t involve us just tapping our phone to level up. This game is great for us. We like games that are at least a little bit challenging, and this game does just that. Plus it’s hella fun! And cute! Go download it!

Didnt know what to expect at first, boy was it worth when after playing the first tutorial mission!!! Easy mechanics and awesome graphics, this has to be one,if not THE best brick breaker games in the App Store.
We recommend this game to everyone. This game may not be an original idea fully but what it loses in unoriginal ideas it makes up with the really solid gameplay and fun mechanics.
Im not big on these phone games but this one here is fun, great way to waste time when your just waiting around for whatever it is.
Really enjoying it. The game doesnt bottle neck you too bad with the energy/recharge BS. Seems to have decent strategy, though not super complicated, its still engaging. Art is beautiful.
We over all enjoy this game but the one thing we want is to add more characters.
Like, its cool and we really enjoy it… But them Asian games be cracking way harder than this.
If you go through the tutorial and dont click boost time for 30 currency but instead close the game for a half hour to wait out the timer, it hard blocks the game so it wont let you do anything. Instead saying click here to speed it up, highlighting a blank part of the screen. Was an interesting game before we wasnt able to play it. Maybe they will fix it.
Really fun for how much we got to play, but we had to stop for a bit during the tutorial and currently its telling us to tap here but theres nothing to tap and it wont let us continue.
Have lost 120 gems because we have accidentally hit extra time after losing a battle. There has to be an are you sure second screen. Most other games do that. We have deleted the game was saving up for a legendary chest and am now just annoyed.
We’ve been playing for the past few months. Fun game, need to use strategy, while also being relatively simple. That said, they just made an update that makes it much harder to play if you dont plan on spending any money :(
Hi, we’ve been playing the game everyday for the past few weeks and really enjoy it. Thank you for not blasting us with advertisements and giving us the freedom to look at those and earn some stuff. Lots of fun and Im going to be playing for a while.
This game is really stinkin good and thats saying something because im not much of a mobile game kind of guy. Youd have us hard pressed to find something negative about this game. The menus are simple enough to understand at a glance but provide enough depth so nothing feels muddled or cluttered. The art is cute, cohesive, and original. Nothing feels out of place or like its been ripped from another game. The gameplay is smooth and works phenomenally. The shots bounces make sense as to why they go the way they go and the plasma mechanic makes destroying neutral blocks more important than just clearing space. The cast of characters all have different strengths and weaknesses, providing players with a good variety of strats to employ. For instance, there is a character who has the highest heal in the game but very low heath, defense, and damage so youd want your other two characters (in your team of three) to have some more beef and punch to make a rounded team. Alternatively, you could stack up 3 healers and risk getting one shot but have the ability to heal back to full if you survive every time. The super mechanic is really where this game shines though, in our opinion, because there are so many options to choose from and theyre all good in their own right. To name a few basic ones there is shockwave (medium damage to all enemies), big shot (heavy damage to one target), rocket barrage (10 rockets that deal light damage that can be randomly spread out or focused on one enemy) and the list goes on. Theyre all effective in one situation or another and the best part is you can craft your team to support each others weaknesses as well as your own as a players. There are also technologies that enhance the power of your heal block, bomb block, and plasma. Along with that there are tiers to each tech and they all give a specific bonus to your team such as elemental resistance or effect resistance providing you with even more play style customization. Its actually absurd how much customization they give the players without overcomplicating things or overwhelming you. We could go on and on about specific features about the game that we love but we haven’t mentioned the developers yet and theyre what make this masterpiece werk. They care about their game and their players and thats why we think this is such a catch. Theyre very active on the ingame community forum and listen to feedback from players. They even named a couple items after especially helpful and influential players which we think is super cool and shows theyre not just a heartless corporate machine. Anyway, thanks for reading our review and do yourself a favor by downloading this beauty.
We’ve been playing this for a couple months now and we can honestly say it takes a little getting used to. You cant just randomly fire of your shots and hope to win. Strategy is a must. Go check out the community pages, loaded with cool tips. Its pretty hard to upgrade the characters(epic and legendary) Takes a long time to get 100 of anything. Even using the quick feature on completed level but its a nice option. We spent the $10 bucks to get the piggy bank and while it does what they say it will, really hard to level up your characters and Tech and artifacts. We guess it would be at least a year to reach the second level on our artifacts. Ouch! Great game though.
We’ve been playing a couple months now and normally by this time we’ve either moved on to another game or we’ve just become an occasional player. Not with Warpods! Still as addicted as we were the first time we played. Fun and exciting game that you can move up through the ranks fairly easily without having to spend any $. And most impressively, the developers care and are engaged with the community. Edit: do not listen to reviewers calling the developers dishonest. Theyve been nothing but helpful, engaged and responsive to any and all issues. Gameplay is fair and just takes practice to get used to. Just like any good game should. Captain Rage.
This game is probably one of THE MOST original idea for a FREE to play app on the App Store. It borrows concepts from all kinds of popular games- making one awesome super game but also includes original mechanics aswell and a story line (which could use a little more work on). On the first play around, you keep feeling like OH WAIT THERES MORE. Really well done. This game has a bright future, we can not wait to see the updates to come.

Unlike most modern App Store games, this game puts effort into the smaller details that make it very enjoyable to play The artwork is amazing and the way that everything has motion and personality is just a breath of fresh air The gameplay itself combines the simple brick breaker mechanic with just the right amount of elemental/color strategy And while we hate the concept of loot boxes and spending energy for every level, the game isnt too restrictive and annoying with its gatchas and energy system.

We have yet to see how the rest of the game will turn out but over all its pretty fun.
The actual game it self isnt bad but all the junk you have to go through in between each battle is tiring! You have to fly and pick boxes and choose too much. Get rid of that and you have a game. You spend more time clearing all the krap than playing. After a battle just tap the screen for 30 seconds until the next one starts.
A strategy/adventure with a Ballz-style combat system is a great idea. But the execution doesnt do the idea justice. Theres no satisfying thud when you hit your targets, just shrill, slot-machine sounds and visuals. Nothing wrong with kiddie cartoon characters, but the ones here dont interest us. What breaks it, though, is the random, reward chest system of progression. Not doing that.

Its just a fun time sink, been playing for weeks, unlocked all but four heros and the game has yet to have a single aspect feel like a chore.
Never before have we seen such a dedication to its users by an app developer. From simple questions to balance suggestions, the apps designers are only too eager to reply on the forums (which are cleverly imbedded within the game, we might add). If they are willing to take the time to address what some would consider pedestrian matters, you can imagine how much polish and feel they put into their block-bursting shooter. Owing homage to ancient paddle ball games, this modernized example integrates an rpg-like aspect to a tried and true formula. Each character (or Pod, as they are called, which is a small single-manned spacecraft) brings his, her, or its unique attributes to a strategic, turn-based game that is simple, aesthetic, tactful, enjoyable, and yet suprisingly deep thanks to element types, equippable items, and various game modes. You can actually feel each block as it bursts thanks to a vibrating phone. Alas, while you destroy enemies, use power-ups, and activate space-shattering special abilities, this quickly becomes quite addictive. The developers personal touch can also be seen in the artistic flair, which can be quirky and fun at times. If one could find a small downside or quibble to the game, it would have to be the slow progression to some of the character building, due to all of the stuff (upgrade material) littered throughout different corners of the game. It may be days or weeks before certain characters gain a level. If there were somehow a way to gain character levels by playing more, this would be a huge plus. Also, the inability to make tiny aiming adjustments can become frustrating- shots never seem to fly the same way twice. However, these are minor nitpicks and the conclusion is a result that is very positive. We recommend this well-crafted game to everybody.
Incredible and interesting, but to watch 3 ads, (daily goal)its like impossible! We love how little (none!) ads there are, but the only way we can watch a ad is to earn coins!
We’ve been around awhile and have played a ton of these types of games and theyre all the same to us. This is the first one in a long time that adds quite a bit of strategy yet its not hard to learn or play. Do you take out the enemy with your next shot, or do you blast more blocks to power up your team? They also have plenty of tasks but not too many as to bog the game down. We thought Id play this a couple times and drop it.. We were pleasantly surprised! Fun game! UPDATE: we wanted to say something about the unfair accusations leveled at the makers. We found that for the most part, people who complain about mechanics or gameplay basically arent very good. There are a couple tricks we’ve discovered while playing the last couple months that have enhanced the gameplay. We dont want to divulge it! If we could give it more stars we would.
Im a F2P player, just as a general principle sort of thing, either all upfront or Ill watch the ads, that sort of thing. The grind is part of the game for us. Needless to say we dont stay long in many games as the grind is too punitive for fun. But this is a really great F2P game, right alongside hearthstone as our top two. Most of the time at a block its a matter of the right team loadout, the right resource management, and theres usually several other modes outside the main path to help. We watch as many ads we can. And we really appreciate the whales and dolphins on this one. Great game.
Nice combination of a breakout style game, with blasters and leveling up characters. Overall fairly fun. Major problem is that sometimes the game just wont load. Initialized the universe, get to almost full bar and then stuck on waiting. Never finishes loading, quit & try again, same thing. Appears to be some problem with their servers.
