Just learning. Im a hacker but having fun.
Ok WGT. We very rarely write reviews. It that we dont like to or want to but mostly because they can be very controversial. However, we felt the need to write this one today. Ive been playing this game for quite some time now (not exactly sure how long). We, like so many others have spent our hard earned money on this app. All in all, this game is a lot of fun. But! There are some really obvious details that need fine tuning and immediate attention. Greens, wind, and distance to the flag to name a couple. Thank you.
Good and realistic game, only improvement would be to post green speeds with every shot, not just putting, green speed influences how a hole is play from the approach to the chip. Not providing that data is frustrating and a bit unfair.
Outstanding game and challenge. You need to earn your shots. Its not going to make it easy so you stick around. 8-9 years playing all day everyday. For us its because Im limited but consider that. We play this so often for so long and still not tired of it. And if Ive ever had a small issue its typically corrected the same day or – we realized it was something we did. Super group at WGT.
We continue to see new players whining about the cost of balls. Pay for clubs and learn to use the free balls! We beat Legends and Tour Legends about 70% of the time we play them because Ive learned to play the freebies!!! We earn the good balls in the monthly tournaments or free shots for closest to the hold Promo! We use the good balls in the tournaments that promote good prizes.
Its been a decade + and we still go back to this game. Perfect practice makes perfect and if youre patient, a decent note-taker with a humble understanding of physics, one could take this game further than we have. For free. Thats pretty incredible imo. Yes, we could buy stuff. Of course it may improve our game. But after 10 years, Ive become real familiar with the gear we have slowly acquired. Play within your means. Come see us on the greens…. In a word… PHENOMINAL. There is so very much to this program that, unfortunately, outpaced the detail of operations for each and every function. To THAT end, one must find out the many (MANY) ins-and-outs, between groups, Google searches, and even WGTs documentation to TRY to figure it all out. Although there is much to FIND, still, much of this program's capabilities remains seemingly hidden, that one has to experience (learn) on their own. SO… WGT, you should create an A-B-C instruction set from beginner to intermediate, to experienced for EVERYONE to be able to maximize the experience. Yours…*.
Im not a golfer, but the mechanics on this game is very off. Not worth spending money on.
There is still no CTTH (Closest To The Hole) competition for friends or multiplayer ( other than tournaments) which is a continued bummer. Until they address this Im not interested anymore. EDIT: Thats good news about different multiplayer options coming but we had recently uninstalled the game and because we had originally signed up through Facebook we cannot reestablish our account because we left Facebook over two years ago. No way Im starting anew given the time and money we have invested in the game. Im out. EDIT: Still amazed no one can help us with our account problems but there is still no new friends or multiplayer modes. Still STALE.
All of our apps are loading fine except this one. Last week or so has been very difficult to get game loaded.Have never had this problem prior to that.
Why do so many screens have to be loading for several minutes during the limited time to use a sponsorship? And could it possibly be easier to earn more credits.
We enjoy the game most of the time- but when your playing in a showdown or online the shot math is nowhere close to playing a round of 18 on the courses for tournaments or free play. For example, the first round of the showdown we were -4 through three holes and the math was spot on for shots/putts and life was great. Next three holes- hit a 4i (205yd club) at a slightly uphill green into the wind 6-8mph at 95-97% to get a bit of a roll to land w/in 10ft our ball sails past the pin into the rough before landing at 218yds how can we hit a club almost 1 club longer INTO THE WIND UPHILL!!! Took a bogey on that hole and the one after for the same type of shot math on a chip from the fairway that chunked onto the green as if we hit it out of the second cut rough with the same power as the fairway IS SUPPOSED TO BE!!! We dont know why we keep using coins we win from tournaments or watching adds (we refuse to pay for credits for a game that half works) to play in the showdown to miss the cut after playing what Ive practiced as good shot math, only to have the game do something completely different.
Penalized for Success! Is all we can say. The matchup process is horrific! There is no reward for playing well. Its quite opposite actually. If you have a knack for the game of golf, you are doomed! Is like Womens High School basketball team playing Chicago Bulls dynasty squad. You have already lost before starting the match. And developers refuse to comment or return inquiries regarding their discriminatory practices. In fact if you complain, they will ban you from game! Which is theft, if you have invested into game monetarily. Not to mention the time, effort, and relationships established during this time. These developers are criminals! May as well be rare Ivory hunters and dealers. They have no integrity, or sense of ethical code. STAY AWAY from these cowardly clowns.
No way to unlock clubs unless you pay or complete surveys. In-app coins literally do nothing and you cant buy anything with them. Would be a cool game if items could be purchased from in-app earned money.
How is it possible that the game is this slow? Always loading, always waiting for opponent, sometimes hanging up. Not our internet connectionalmost 300 mbps on download. Good game, but maybe take some of the money youre making off of players and invest in some better servers or more bandwidth? Its not fun to play in its current state.
Ive noticed that after purchasing a new sleeve of balls or renting a club that it gives us significant leeway on our mistakes where as if Im low on points or am about to run out on shots on our ball it is the complete opposite therefor forcing us into another purchase. Ive played for over two years before we took the liberty to rate this app.

The Game is almost taking a sati lite picture and photoshopping a white ball on to it.
Literally impossible to be competitive without paying absurd sums of money. And just annoyingly inconsistent in how to play certain shots.
Wind speed said 15-17 with us and our iron said 170 max distance, green is 160 so we dont power all the way and the ball lands 40 yards short and we lose a big hole cause the game cheats. If your gonna rig your games at least try harder to hide it.

Ive noticed that since Ive started giving poor reviews that we get the weirdest things happening to us like a perfectly struck ball, not breaking when there is obvious break there. A ball coming up short downhill with tournaments speed and we mean it came up 8 foot short no way its impossible. And then we hit a ball on a hole and halfway to the hole. The ball goes dead left no break just went dead left. Is there something kicked it left. But we will still not quit leaving poor reviews until the makers of this game decided he want to have a fair game and not the rigged one that they have now anyone let you to this game dont waste your time. Going to win because when you play in a rookie tournament, youre gonna be playing against people that are way way out of your league but thats the way they have it set up have a nice day.
Horrible game, many glitches, super unrealistic, the things in the pro shop are crazy expensive. We dont recommend.
Its very rigged and do not spend any money on it. The tutorial is like three hours long and its just a waste of time. If you spend money you will get scammed. Just dont download it.
The game is so real. We cuss as much on this as we do in a real game.
It takes the beast of golf games and it is a lot of fun and it will get more fun with each time you play with the app.

Need to add more courses, other then that its a great game with the most realistic play. The surveys have screwed us several times. Love the game itself.
We have been playing this game for a long time so you can take this review to the bank. The games graphics are impressive and the has realistic intentions. However, frustration will set in eventually as you improve your skills. Why, because shots you once had mastered on any given course will begin to fail you. Especially, bunkers and the turf around many of the bunkers will choke your shots without logical explanation. The game does not ever address the kind of turf or its depth, especially in the rough, making it very difficult to pull the right club. You are offered different shot types, like chip, pitch, lob, but never bunker shots. Bunker shots are pretty much guesswork. Recently, a punch shot was added, but with very little control possible. Bunker and water hazards will suddenly react differently, though you may have played the same hole from similar positions under similar environmental conditions dozens of times. These, what was that? Moments will become frequent. It is obvious to us what is going on here. The developer(s) want you to upgrade equipment and balls by dropping more coin. So, if thats okay with you, then go for it. Otherwise, expect to be more frustrated than entertained.
Great graphics but inconsistent in shot results. Hit the same exact shot ten times and it will never result in the same relative position.
It starts off fantastic. But once you get high enough up you just get paired with people who paid for premium clubs to win so its not even about skill at that point.

Wish the functions could be a little more consistent. Sometimes 15 mph winds carry like 30 mph and shots against the wind and uphill go substantially farther than the clubs rating. Other than that we love the game.
The putting slope and speed is inconsistent. Fast uphill slow downhill?? Elevation and wind effect on shots in totality inconsistent. Fix it.
If you plan on using the phone app, dont plan on advancing through the game. And dont waste your money on this app.
Prepare to spend money if you wanna enjoy this game. Great graphics, courses are beautiful and fun. Very inconsistent behavior and atrocious putting method. One Star is just much better for playability in our opinion. Ill be on in 2 with basic clubs and then 3 putt from 4 feet away. Its not enough you figure out and set the green break, you determine and execute the correct ball speed you also must tap at the exact right moment or you miss even very short putts due to club face not perfect. Drives us nuts. Golf Star putting you only set green break and ball speed they give you a flat club face hit. Much better playability.
Sorry but here is the scoop- give the app $ or you will get smoked by the people who do. Also mind numbing royal match ads game after game make this no fun Only reason for 2 stars is the graphics and game are fun.
Why is our driver carrying between 170-185 yards? That is such a wildly unrealistic feature. We understand this game is entirely pay to win but good lord, yall. Im not even making the fairway with our driver sometimes. It took us 4 shots to reach the 16th green at Kiawah simply due to low distance.
How did this game get high reviews? Must have had all the employees create fake reviews because this game is awful. Unless you have all day to wait for your opponent to play.
We used to play this game religiously. However, at least once a year, the game would become out of sync with our phone, resulting in a reset of the Daily Rewards. They used to fix it, no problem. But now it seems as though theyre very put off by doing so. Even going to the extreme of resetting our game on purpose, back to zero. So now we dont bother to play everyday anymore. Not far from deleting the app altogether.
When It would cost us $50 to buy a club from the pro shop in a virtual game, its way too much. A pack of balls is several dollars. Absolutely insane. It should be easier to win the coins to buy from the pro shop or everything else should be cheaper. Or both. Ridiculous.
Remember the old science fiction TV show The Outer Limits, where the introduction was dont adjust your setwe control the vertical, we control the horizontal ? Well, in this game, WGT programmers control the vertical, the horizontal, and everything else, so dont be lulled into the delusion that you have much autonomy. Yes, you have to hit the controller at the right time, but even that is variable, as Ive seen it speed up when we least expect it. So, this game has virtually nothing to do with experience or skill. As is usually the case, its all about the Benjamins you gotta pay to play, or at least to be competitive. But therein lies the rub: the equipment you need to be allowed to win a few games here and there is outrageously expensive. For example, there was recently a set of clubs for sale, marked down to $99!! And then if you want balls that wont sail across the green and into the bunker, plan on paying $20 or $30 more, and then dont be surprised when these balls end up in the water or lost in your next 3 or 4 games. Do you really want to spend a hundred dollars or more on a little arcade game? We think not. Save your money, buy some real clubs, and play a real game where skill actually matters.
Nice game. But don't waste your money on their upgrades. We renewed our Premier membership thru Apple 4 days ago ($169.99) and WGT kept the money and down graded our membership. We'll still play the course but spend a ton of money less.
