Wooden Block Puzzle is a Strategy/Puzzle game from Danny Pajevic, first launched in 6th November 2016.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 191+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes Wooden Block Puzzle Stand Out
The game features a wooden board and wooden block tetromino pieces. The objective of the game is to form lines vertically and/or horizontally on the board using the wooden block pieces while avoiding obstacles.
Each time you form a line, the existing blocks within that column or row disappear.
The wooden block pieces can be rotated by tapping on them and can be placed on the board by dragging them with your finger.
The obstacles appear in the form of tree stumps. These stumps appear at random times during the game and must be placed on the board as well.
Since the stumps serve as obstacles, they prevent you from forming lines in columns and rows where they are placed.
So how can you continue to form lines in the game while these obstacles continue to appear?
Well, also randomly, the game provides you with matches which come in different shapes and sizes. These matches are the only way to get rid of these tree stumps so you must use the matches wisely.
While the game may seem easy in the beginning, it get's more and more challenging as the board fills up. Your goal is to hang in the game as long as you can while trying to score high.
The game is challenging, fun and addictive.
It features four difficulty levels and those levels are:
Easy: features a 12×12 grid.
Medium: features a 10×10 grid.
Hard: features a 8×8 grid.
Insane: features a 6×6 grid.

There is a major problem with this game…it is addictive! This version allows you to turn/flip the pieces but still challenging to get them to fit. Great game.
We love this game, it never gets boring.
Time will fly by as you reach inner peace through patiently, rhythmically interconnect the blocks. Your Theda waves will take over in your brain as your astral body floats off to nirvana and just then you will receive a telling message from the beyondyou have a nine block and no place to put it. You our friend, are stuck. Such is the mystical nature of each humans lifetime.
This game calms us for some reason. It seems repetitive but we actually enjoy figuring out the best way to clear blocks and burn solid wood blocks. Sometimes we have close calls but now our score is over 500,000! :).
Great way to burn time, helps make or keep your brain a little sharper. You can shut it down & return later right where you left off.
Nice way to compete against yourself and kill time.
Pretty chill game. If we dont set a timer on our phone Ill stay playing it & lose track of time (work breaks).

Better than some of the other block games since the blocks can be rotated in order to fit the spaces that are available. Please dont start a new game unless you are ready to spend a couple of hours with the game because it's hard to put it back down. This is the only game we have loaded on the iPad and both phones.

More challenging than it looks.
We enjoy the challenge of placing the blocks in a way that will clear the most lines. The stumps make life difficult. We only wish that you could get more matches. We always have more stumps than we want.

Update: There was a problem with a recent update but the developers have fixed it and the bugs are gone. They listened to our concerns and worked hard to get it working better than ever. Great game! This used to be good until the last update. It ran smoothly and never locked up on our iPhone. It updated about a week ago, and since then sometimes the pieces lock and wont rotate unless you close the app and re-open. Even worse, when you close it and come back, it fills the top squares with bombs that were not there when you left. We had been working on a puzzle for months in our spare time and was at 885,216. Aiming for a million and would have made it but it sabotaged us by filling itself with bombs. We sent you an email with screenshots.
The game is fun and mildly addictive.
We have been playing this game on our iPad for a year or more. Its one of our favorite games, but in the last couple of weeks, when we tap on the blocks it hesitates before it responds. It never did this before, and its very distracting. We uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but that didnt help. We wish the developer would check this out. They also need to add an undo button. If they fix the problem, we would definitely give it 5 stars.
Ive found if we go too fast, or dont think enough where to move, we get stuck! The game ends. We wish there was a take-back choice during a turn so we could change our minds. Sometimes we accidentally drop a set of blocks. Anyway, we like it and will keep playing.
This is the best of the block puzzle games. It is the only puzzle that lets us rotate pieces. It also has adjustable difficulty. +1 star. Rotating pieces removed some of the challenge but the game is well balanced by stumps and matches. Stumps get in the way and prevent rows from clearing. Matches clear all pieces including the stumps from open squares. +1 star. The graphics and sounds are not elaborate like competitors on the app store. Simplicity gets much longer battery life. +1 star. All of the puzzle games lack precision on the drag and drop. When we lift a piece it moves out of proportion to our finger. This has worked good on our iPhone but on iPad it is really off-putting. -1 star. This game supports both portrait and landscape modes so we can play it on our iPad with a keyboard attached! +1 star.
We have been enjoying this game on our phone and iPad for weeks. Great challenges. Some ideas to make it even better would be to award more points for clearing more than one line at a time. Maybe a bonus for clearing lines in two directions? Also the added bonus on clearing the whole slate? Again, great fun but make the tougher plays more rewarding of points.
Frustrating but cant put it down.
This game keeps us coming back. As it goes along, the game changes strategy, forcing us to keep ahead in our thinking on where to place blocks and where to leave open space. Its fun.
Like the ability to rotate the tiles.
Enjoy the game but you come to realize the game itself is always ahead of you and you win only if it allows it.
It is a addictive game and we enjoy it. However, in the easier games there are way too many stumps, and if so there are far less fire to destroy the stumps. We let our grandchildren play this and they give up because of the stumps.
