The rules are simple – tap the word that correctly matches the definition shown on the screen before time runs out, or swipe away incorrect words to get more time. The game is (virtually) endless – see how many vocabulary words you can correctly answer in a row.
The catch? The difficulty of the words keep scaling higher and higher until it requires every ounce of concentration to get the next word correct!
Connect to Facebook to see how your score ranks among your friends. Connect via Game Center and compare your score with the rest of the world.
Get higher scores by using one of three power-ups – pass! to skip a word, freeze! to stop the timer, and remove! to eliminate one incorrect choice. Power-ups reactivate every 4 words of the same type you get right. Purchase power-ups with credits earned by answering correctly or swiping away incorrect words.
Advance through the 14 different grades of vocabulary mastery by accomplishing different challenges such as scoring a certain amount of points or mastering a number of words.

This has to be one of the best apps there is because we're addicted to it.
Ive been loving this game, its very good for refreshing our memory of vocab we already know, as well as introducing a whole lot of esoteric, obscure words that we dont! Our only complaint is that we wish there was a word list or history available so that, once we encounter a word in the game, we can go back and review the words we missed, or which are new to us. Otherwise we just have to wait for them to come up again in the game, and hope that we remember them well enough to make a note of them later, which we never do our memory is abysmal.
When we have those moments where we need to kill a little time we open this app and sometimes learn a word or two. Highly recommend, Sometimes encounter situations where, in our opinion, two words fit the definition but its far and few between. Wish there was a way to see words we have gotten wrong in the past and when the game ends we dont have to wait so long to have the definition pop up again.
We love this game. We wish they would show scores of Others and would give definition of other words when game ends.

The four star words are mostly unknown to us so we enjoy expanding our vocabulary. We like comparing how we do in the daily and weekly world leaderboard. We need more players.
We have had this app for years. It really does help with ones vocabulary but sometimes the clues are too verbose. It is almost like the writers are using an archaic dictionary because some of the phrases dont sound like proper English. Over all we still give it a five star rating! Try it! Test your vocabulary. We bet you learn a bunch of new words.

We love playing this when we need to relax for a few but theres one thing we would love to be available in this App. Id love it if there was a list of the words you got wrong and their definitions or even just a quick list of all the words presented before you got one wrong. That would make this our favorite go-to game for sure.
Updated version works great in the new iOS. The game is a great way to expand ones vocabulary in a fun way.
What do the stars mean on the right on word choice. The game has no instructions or descriptions included.
Some of the definitions which are used are a bit creative and make this feel like English may not the creators first language.

Through this app, Ive expanded our vocabulary quite a bit. Its a fun pastime that, unlike most other games, has educational value. We definitely recommend it and will continue to play :).

Not a pro gamer but like to play a bit. We like this game except we dont understand the purchasing information – seems there is no way to buy outright but only in a limited way.
If you enjoy words and their definitions, and you enjoy competing or pushing yourself past your limits youll like this. It reminds us of a game called Perfection in which you have to place all the shapes before the clock runs out and pieces fly everywhere, except instead of shapes your placing definitions with words. Sort of anyway. Theres the same sense of panic involved.
Best game Ive ever played. We wish they would provide this to the schools! We cant stop playing. We even had all our friends and family download it! Now they are all trying to outsmart us!! Haha fabulous game . We highly recommend it. Now all our hood homies are throwing around new words haha dope.
This app is a wonderful way to increase your vocabulary and find new ways to express yourself through words.
Ah, hubris. We thought we were pretty smart until we tried to beat this game. And tried. And tried. It starts easy and gets more challenging. We are obsessed with word games, and this is our current favorite. We agree with others that Id like to be able see the definition of wrong answers. Sometimes the game seems to be drawing a pretty fine line between words that have multiple, similar meanings, depending on the context.
This is by far the best app we have found for learning new words and brushing up on some that arent used often.
Our husband and we enjoy playing this game & compete with each other. We dont feel guilty playing this as we occasionally learn new words. We would recommend.
Great game. It would be awesome if there was a second place you could play to practice the words you failed on. Maybe use the same play concept but only use the failed words somewhere in each question. That would really reinforce the learning.
Its free and easy to use. Thats a welcome start. The starter words are a bit of a bore… But thats where they look to make a buck. We havent folded yet. Some of the 4stars are a bit word of the day or 99 cent picks that if you try to use in every day communication will net you a well deserved eye roll… But fun nonetheless for your own improvements and writing options.

Gotta think fast sometimes cause by time you read the description your time up for the answer may b over. Keeps u on your toes. At the same time you are learning.

This is an enjoyable app, one that makes us feel as if we are actually expanding our brain, rather than shrinking it! LoL Something that would make it better would be, when we pick the incorrect word, if they would include the definition of the correct word. For example, we had a word that the clue was something about that which is bright or glowing (we are paraphrasing). Our choice was luminous or Illuminated we choose incorrectly, but we wasnt sure why. Educate us! :-) Thanks for a fun app.
