A Glimpse into World of Demons™
From award-winning Japanese developer PlatinumGames comes a new exhilarating combat action title, World of Demons.
Known for their console action and PC games including NieR:Automata and the hit Bayonetta series, PlatinumGames thrust players into a fantastical world full of yokai – a class of supernatural monsters and spirits from Japanese folklore.
Players will assume the role of a samurai leading an army of yokai minions as they embark on a mission against evil. The game is set in a beautiful environment inspired by traditional Japanese artwork with gorgeous stages pulled from ukiyo-e woodblock prints. Along the way, they’ll meet samurai allies and a menagerie of yokai, each with their own techniques and combo possibilities. Players will expand their arsenal of abilities to conquer all foes that stand before them, ultimately facing the fearsome Shuten Doji, lord of all oni.

This game is so great! Its so much fun and challenging to fight all kinds of monsters.
We honestly think that this is one of the best hack and slash indie games we’ve ever played. One thing is that we wish you could have special arcana sorta like demon slayer where you have other abilities than your ultimate and heavy attacks. Also the void should at least not throw you into a huge oni fight. But none of these affected us so 5 stars.
We need help equitys monsters.
We’ve played this game for pretty much every day now, unlocking new weapons and sub story quests to play. The graphics are extremely high quality and the game itself is a definite must-play, even if your not into beat-em ups. Its crazy to see how the same developers as Bayonetta and MadWorld created such a unique experience and brought it to mobile! 10/10 Great job Platinum!(as usual)
So much fun and so creative reminds us if Yakima games went samurai . Most artistic game they made with amazing combat . Please more of this.
OK So we Have ALL Yokai And we Have Beaten The Game And we Have ALL 4 SAMURAIS! Our Favorite Ultima Is THOUSAND HANDS And we Eventually At The Beginning Got Brave Enough To Go To The Outer Void And we Was Not Brave Because Shuten Doji Was Supposed To Be The Final Boss And we Thought, What?! This Is Not The End! But we Heard What Otoroshi Said And we Went Anyway! Thats When we Realized IT WAS KUMA DOJI. Im Giving This A 5 Star And our Favorite Yokai Is Ibaraki Doji Because Of Mask. Im Liking It A LOT And Youre A Genius Graphic Designer, Modeler, And Master! (I Said Master Because This Is Japan) And Where IN Japan Did You Hear About Those Yokai? We WANT TO LEARN MORE!!! Thanks. Also, HOW ON EARTH Did You Model The Kama-Itachi??? ._____________.
The game is grate we love the style and the combat is amazing. The down sides are t is really hard and the graphics are not the best. Overall this game is great though.
The beast chapter is KILLING ME to play we’ve SAVORED this game!!! Now Im done! We NEED MOREE!!! The cliff hanger omg we were so heartbroken! We wish to play more block buster games like this and there are none! Let us know when a new chapter comes out PLEASE!!!!
It’s a cool game, and it should be better known.
We were sold the moment we saw the Youkai and how well you stuck to their original designs, then we played the game and now Im absolutely hooked, the story is A1 and it makes us cant wait to see what Youkai we will come across next and the fact that you can utilize their abilities is epic 5stars, MY ONE ISSUE is the targeting system, could use a rework lol there was multiple moments where we locked on to stage fire in the middle of combat an couldnt stop locking on the the fire no matter were we turned or what we pressed.
Now that the backbone is out we pretty much play this game almost everyday definitely a go to slasher adventure game.
Unfortunately you get to a point where theres no forwatd movement. You cant get past a level or the sub levels. And sometimes the battles drag on for forever. It gets really boring just trying to time your evade tap perfectly but the you still cant move forward. Fix that for 5 stars.
So we just finished the second part of chapter four and in it shutin doji transports to to another realm and then it says to be continued devs if your reading this please please PLEASE!! Do a chapter 5 it would make our day – kind regards.
This game is wayyyy too good for mobile.
This game is engaging, gorgeous, and fun. So imagine our surprise when it turns out the story is unfinished and ends at Chapter 4!
We cant even complete the tutorial, when we kill all the enemies in it ,doesnt happen any thing waited but nothing happens when we skip the tutorial we go to the first stage and kill the first enemy in the first place doesnt happen any thing , after we kill the yokai it supposed to show us the after battle states (A,B,S)but it doesnt and just stand like that.

We havent tried touch controls and with a game like this we dont want to. Played on a flight with the Backbone physical controller. It was awesome. Feels like a solid game youd play on DS or Switch. Got us back into Apple Arcade. Great action thats easy to pick up but hard to master and collecting all the yokai is fun also.
It’s not often you find such a rich game on mobile but if Platinum didn’t do exactly that. Gameplay is tight, fun, and polished. Artstyle and graphics are insanely cool. Good job developers.
This game is so fun! Regardless of how you play it, either it be with a controller or the touch controls, it plays flawlessly. Dodging is easy (which you expect from PLT), and the sword play is easy to do also. Mixing and matching Yokai, and finding the right combination is a blast. Then all the upgrading stuff is cool, not as in-depth as youd hope, but then Im reminded its a mobile game. The story is so so, we definitely found myself skipping a lot at times, but really, this is a game meant for good story. The Lvl design can get repetitive at times, and have to back track with them is a bit tedious. But all in all, this is an awesome game, so awesome we had to write this review, which is the only review we have ever done on the App Store. So DEFINITELY try this game!
Absolutely beautiful eye candy and loads of action. Art in motion. Reminded us of PS2 game Okami. Plays great-keep moving or get tagged. Playing since Pong-this is freaking excellent!!
This game plays great and looks even better. With a lot of the trash thats been flooding the app store we really didnt expect this game to be any good even with paying for it, but we were surprised. It plays like Okami on Switch in handheld mode maybe even a little better framerate. The combat may not be crazy deep but the art style is what youll stay for if you like it.
This game is pretty much a console quality game on your iPhone. It has good graphics, fun gameplay (better with a controller in our opinion) and a decent story. Tons of customization options, cool setting and overall is pretty fun to play.
We love Platinum games on PS4 and we were so excited when we found this! Theyve basically made a game that plays like a console game on iOS! Its deep and action packed. We love it!
We’ve only recently given mobile games a shot again since 2015-2016 due to traveling for our current job and when we were scrolling through Top (random number) iOS games! We eventually found out Platinum Games, whove developed some pretty awesome games on Console/PC such as Bayoneta, Vanquish, and Metal Gear: Rising, arguably the best hack and slash game still out there, made this for Apple Arcade it was our number 1 priority to download and as far as mobile games go, this is the best hack and slash, action game we’ve played yet. We’ve only played it on touch screen so far and while we’ve always hated playing games like that it isnt annoying or tedious on this one, and the amount of gameplay you get here is incredible. We believe Im just about to finish it now, and if you have Apple Arcade this is a definite must play.
For those who do not know, Platinum is a big game studio. They made Star Fox Zero for Nintendo, and worked under the direction of Shigeru Miyamoto (so don’t blame them for the controls), and if Nintendo trusts them with an in-house IP, then they must be a great studio with amazing potential. So, we gave this game a try. We’re glad we did. It’s like Okami, but with level raising / grinding elements and swords. Our Macbook Air M1 does NOT have built-in cooling fans, but this game does NOT make the computer hot (like Oceanhorn 2 tends to do). We expected it to, but it runs well and never gets more than just a little warm. Outstanding job, Platinum.
Highly recommend everyone to try this game out. Action packed game play. It is flawless with the fighting style and graphics. The artisic work alone is amazing enough to want to make you play. Heck do not listen to us try it yourself. Warning Game is Addictive! Great job Platinum!
This game is absolutely incredible. We love historic games and the Yoki present in this game are on point and just amazing. We recommend this game for anyone who wants a good hack-and-slash Apple Arcade game with some Japanese lore. If devs read this, please keep up the good work, you are amazing!
This game is so good Im already in love with it and we just barely finished the tutorial keep up the good work.
Another magnificent Platinum game that has been very intelligently designed for mobile. The levels are the perfect length for drop in and drop out play, and all the upgrade systems for the various characters and Yoki keep a consistent drip feed of new mechanics rolling in to keep the skirmishes exciting. Beautiful hand drawn art style that, while looking great, is not so system intensive that your phone overheats or you get any dropped frame rates. Its Okami meets Wonderful 101 and its exactly optimized for iOS play. After all that, it has all the standard achievements, weapons, and unlocks that youd expect from a modern Platinum game. Singularly justifies an Apple Arcade subscription and theres a ton of game to keep you going for awhile. The only downside is while the game is both playable and fun with touch controls, youll have some trouble scoring S or SS without a controller. For new players: 1) the game is not broken; you need to select the other Yoki slot thats greyed out to then equip your second Yoki. Its not the best way to communicate the various slots, but its definitely not broken. Just tap on that other slot. 2) Stick with it; the game doesnt fully reveal the full scope of its mechanics right away and a lot of the systems youd expect from an action game are tied to both story and character progression. 3) Use the Yoki as you would a heavy attack in another Platinum game; you should be throwing those arts out constantly and incorporating them into your combos. They arent summons; theyre unique attacks.
Another well crafted piece by Platinum Games. This game redefines what it means to play a mobile game! From an already popular Hyrule/Dynasty Warrior Siege and Battle format as we like to call it, comes their flawless implementation with no performance issues on High (iPad Air 4th Gen) as well as delivering a well crafted, charming and humorous experience like any one of Platinums other hit titles. This game has us excited for the future of mobile gaming! Keep up the fantastic work Platinum! You deserve that name.
We’ve played a lot of platinum games like bayonetta, astral chain, and nier and we think world of demons is a good balance for mission based gameplay. We’ve been enjoying this game so far and hope to keep enjoying it with a controller. We just wish cloud saves synced with the Mac version so we could show friends!
PlatinumGames really did it again, but on mobile :~0 we personally play this game with a PS4 controller on our iPad and it feels super smooth (played for about 4 hours so far). Just another great fighting game that’s good for both longplay sessions in the story, and shortplay sessions with all the side mission. The ability to upgrade weapons & yokai is cool because it provides depth, yet the upgrade system hasn’t ever felt cumbersome so that’s a plus. With a service like Apple Arcade, it’s easy to start playing something and then stop if we’re not immediately satisfied in like 5 minutes. But this game has us hooked!

Amazing graphics, we love the gameplay, the variety in enemies is nice, the different playable characters and variety in weapons and yokai helps make the game enjoyable Have had one minor glitch where yokai wouldnt attack us, but it resolved itself Overall we love this game and its amazing that this is a mobile game.
This title somehow reminds us of god of war and we are seriously loving it . Its the best in apple arcade :)
At first we were hesitant about getting this app, but after 5 minutes of playing, we were instantly hooked! We love the anime aesthetic of the game In all GET THIS GAME!!!
This game has pretty fun hack and slash gameplay. Choosing when you want to do a heavy slash is enough to vary combat, though delayed combos (think DMC) wouldve been even better for depth and player expression. The Yokai are all cool and figuring out how they can extend combos or just help in general is always fun. Dont forget about the merge arts, those are fun tooI did until after we unlocked the last playable character. We really like how the last character is pretty much the Vergil to Onimarus Dante. Dude even has void slash, getting a perfect dodge or block in this game is always satisfying and the reward for it is good too. Adding more enjoyment to be found. Great game all around.
First off we want to say that Apple Arcade did it again! We love World of Demons it reminds us of Nioh, dark souls, and also some of Ninja Gaiden!
Anyone else having problems loading the game up.
Bluetooth controller stopped working after an update. A full reboot fixed that problem. Its a nice game. Good graphics and story line.
Game is great very fast paced and easy to understand lots of diversity for yokai to take on skirmishes and overall the game is just amazing it runs great on our iphone 6s it crashes here and there but with a phone like ours that is expected. Just wanted to say thank you to the developers for this game we’ve spent countless hours playing it and it really is a great game!
