Find out what gamers are saying about XON Episode Four:

The only negative thing we can say about this game is that it is the last in the series. All 4 chapters of XON are spectacular in their own way, and these guys are absolute masters at creating beautiful mega-puzzles that are laid out across vast landscapes. Its such a rush to solve these incredible puzzles.

We loved the entire series. The only other game series that comes close are The Room and The Eyes of Ara. The only problems are that XON has set such a high bar that all other games are boring and lacking and that it is finished. The length of the game is great, the controls are fantastic as well as the graphics. Figuring out what to do is the perfect combination of hard and doable. Please, please come out with another episode.

If you want a new Myst-like experience, this series is one of the best!

Work of the absolute highest quality. Brilliant, we all want more.

This game is as good as it gets. Great graphics and smooth gameplay. Puzzles are difficult yet can be solved with creative thinking. We highly recommend all 4 versions. Worth the cost!

We finally finished this episode & it was most definitely the best of the series! The graphics and puzzles were so well done, our only regret is that there are no more chapters to look forward to. THIS is the type of game we yearn for. Our only regret is we hadnt discovered these sooner. Bravo!!

Challenging, awesome game with stunning visuals and a logical progression of clues.

Finally got around to playing this episode, the last in the four episode series. This is also an excellent standalone game. Everything is fantastic (visuals, sound design, gameplay mechanics and gameplay evolution) just as with all the previous games. Imo, this one is cooler. A few of the puzzles were difficult (obtuse) so we did go to the devs hint page to get help, but it didnt spoil the fun at all. Im replaying them all now and we recommend starting with Episode One and playing through the series in order. That lets you really appreciate all the devs effort, creativity and hard work. Note this: we played two episodes on an iPhone 6 and two episodes on an Android tablet; both played beautifully. Highly recommended!! January 2020 Edit: Replaying this episode now and its still great!

We were so excited to see that there was an episode 3, then 4! Too good to be true and we loved every second but hated knowing it would end. Oh PLEASE create more! We knew we were at the end of the game but couldn’t bring myself to place the last crystal so we held off for a day. That’s how immersive and wonderful this devs games are!

Just finished playing XON 4 and have to say it was one of the best games we’ve ever played. We were skeptical at first considering the reviews that said the puzzles were so complicated that we would have to use walk-throughs to finish. We mean, what’s the point in that? We were able to finish the game over a couple of weeks all on our own. We think the only requirement for doing so is patience and fully immersing oneself in the game environment. Everything you need to complete the game is readily available. We tend to approach these "Myst"-like games by imagining that we are truly there and have no outside help. Isn’t that the whole point? If you want a game that really tests your ability to think things through, XON 4 is awesome. We like the fact that sometimes we would have to sleep on it and wake up in the morning with some new ideas about how to approach the next chapter. We like the way it became an alternate world that we were temporarily living in for a couple of weeks. We like the way it stretched our brain out and challenged us. We highly recommend this game for those who are ready to take on the challenge of turning a mysterious world into something you know like the back of your hand. BTW, we’ve never written a review for a game before… We just felt compelled to share our experience and thank the developers for a fascinating experience.

We did this after finishing myst and riven, and it is as wonderful as they are. The main difference is that myst has a sort of storyline (more like a soap opera) running through the whole thing, whereas this leaves it to your imagination to figure out who you and why you’re there. Also, and you may or may not like this, there are no handwritten journals to read in the con series. (I have a limited tolerance for having to remember who did what to whom and who needs what in order to gain world domination — there’s a reason we prefer game playing to socializing with humans) this game had a quirky little not in each chapter, except 4 – or else we never found that one. But otherwise you just figure it all out as you potter around. We adore the ambience and the lack of pressure. Once you solve a puzzle it says solved, switches stay switched. No need to race around in time limits. We really really wish you’d make more chapters. Oh and what the heck is that final sound effect? We made it replay the last scene again just to experience those last few seconds. Hilarious. Kudos to the creator. Best entertainment ever.

Admittedly we didnt play this for a spell because it was quite hard to figure out a certain area. Hint (it has a lot to do with what you see from where you stand) Anyway this is such a great game. We dont know why it hasnt been updated for newer devices though. Or why they havent made more of these games. If you like Myst and The Room, you will like this too. !!!!!! If you make more of these games you can have more of my.

Immersive graphics and great puzzles like the first three, but sadly for us, we couldn’t solve the outdoor stepping stone puzzle. No help on line, either, so we couldn’t finish. Reminds us of Obduction, where one puzzle ruins the entire game for us!

On our iPad the game shows upside down when the home key is on the right. Thats the natural orientation for iPads with covers. Please fix! Cant be that hard. Otherwise: love it!

We have all four XON games, and love them all! The clues for this game are a little tougher than the other three. We anxiously am waiting for XON 5, but we suspect four may be the last one. :-(

A solid showing, though with a slightly different flavor. While in the previous chapters many puzzles were self contained, this time there’s a much more requirement to carry knowledge from one part of the map to the other. Thankfully there’s a screenshot feature built in, but unfortunately it does not save them if the app quits. Puzzles are solid and logical with one significant exception involving an extra layer of reordering of symbols.

We played the other three Xons, but stopped this one about two hours in. It wasn’t the difficulty – who cares about how hard it is? Just watch a walk through if you have to. What’s missing here is that this game is not compelling in the least, and we’re not sure why. You’re repeatedly faced with one difficult puzzle after another, but don’t feel compelled to solve it. We don’t know how to fix that.

Dang! We really enjoyed Episodes 2 & 3, and was definitely looking forward to Episode 4. Well, the graphics and ambience were just as good, but we were sadly disappointed in the puzzles. They were darn near impossible to solve, and even after solving them (after using the walkthrough), most still did not make sense. This last episode was just not fun.

We got dizzy rotating around in circles. The instructions for moving around dont make sense. Arrows? There are none. A total waste of money. 1 star is being generous.

We loved Xon 1-3 and was so happy to find 4. We enjoyed the challenge and scenery of Xon 3 the best, but Xon 4 is a close second. We love the smooth navigation using thumbsticks and the natural graphics. No problems on our iPad Air 2 iOS 9.3.3. Exploring just for the fun of it never gets dull. We even scaled some rocks and squished behind the ivy growing against the rock formations. What fun!

We do love these XON games, they are like what Myst was, casual, puzzling, wonderful worlds to explore, where you couldn’t really fail with enough patience and ingenuity and thinking about it. There is a place in this chapter where you can stumble into a trap (of your own making) and have to abandon your game and start a new game. Be careful out there.

Downloaded to iPad and game stopped working. Please fix. Love these games.
