Find out what gamers are saying about Yesterday Origins:

This game was so amazing!!! Thank you so much!!! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute!! This is everything an adventure game should be!

Played first game and loved it, but it was a bit short, or more like what most point and click games turn out to be 4-5 hours. But this game was .99¢ and we played for at least 12 hours, it is an amazing game, we barely had any crashes, maybe 2 the entire game. One thing to know both games are adult oriented games, and have extremely dark subject matter, but we love that type of a game, so this was perfect for us. First game and this one are you playable without the other game, also though origins does a great job of reiterating what happened in the first game, just to give new players a starting point. For reals this is an amazing piece of work, for a 8-12 hour game(depending on how much dialogue you want to read) it is never tedious, and storytelling/script is just amazingly well done. Just buy it already you wont be sorry. If we had any cons, it would be they didnt explain the mechanics all that well, but after looking at a walkthrough for the first main puzzle we had it figured out, and didnt need the walkthrough anymore, just a bit of a unique of an approach to the puzzle problem solving, and the developers could have explained it a bit better. SPOILERS…. You have to find sometimes upto 4 objects, or ideas, and then use them all to solve a problem, or is really fun once you figure it out, and it is used a bunch so you have to figure it out lol, have fun.

Full on adventure game, high quality, developers please fix bugs and continue to keep game updated.

Well worth the 99¢ we paid to play this gem. Above all, the storyline is incredible, the characters are developed, and it all comes together beautifully in the end. The beginning takes some time to adjust to with the application items and ideas with characters, but for us, it opened up so many possibilities that we enjoyed exploring. EXCELLENT game Im considering purchasing YESTERDAY now because we were so pleased with this one. We saw other reviews complaining about the wonky controls – its a mobile game with a lot of transitions and cinematic gameplay. Occasionally the voice dialogue will go a little haywire but we just restart the game (that loads very quickly we might add) and there was nothing that we experienced that would prevent us from playing or completing the game.

Such a neat game and puzzles are cute.

We really enjoyed playing first game, we love the story line and twists and turns. Developers please keep making progress with this game, at least 3 more game! We still need to know more of the life of John Yesterday!

Im truly so into this game! Amazing especially for the price! We would have paid $10 for it! Graphics, storyline, everything is so cool.

This game is wonderful. It improves in every way over the stellar original. Its long and has balanced difficulty, and the plot is fantastic. Some solutions are silly, but they are intuitive and satisfying. The historical and modern settings are beautiful and engaging. Some reviewers have said they had technical difficulties, but it ran smooth as a dream for us. No crashes or technical issues of any kind. If you like adventure games, this is a no-brainer to pick up. Thanks to the developers!!

A rare great game from Microids. Most are highly flawed and unplayable. This was excellent.

This is a winning combination. These folks continue to put out games that are not only engaging but graphically fascinating and with intense storylines. The voiceover actors and actresses are seasoned from years of experience. The music is spot on for each scene. There is a great amount of unique dialog and plenty of attention to detail. Many games have so much dialogue that it gets in the way but not this game. The dialogue is so infused with the story that its as if very natural and you look forward to it and want it. With all this intensity it still manages to play smoothly and effortlessly. Challenging puzzles are clever and are thought provoking. A truly traditional point and click adventure worth taking.

A vast improvement on the original game. The story goes back and forth between the ancient past and the present, effectively telling the Origin (which would have made the first game way more easier to follow) while coinciding with the continuation/resolution of the main story. Everything that was vague or confusing about the first game is cleared up rather nicely, which lets you appreciate this game a great deal more. The gameplay and animation is far smoother, and the voice acting is terrific. The focus is a little wonky when inspecting items/people, but its more of a distraction than a hindrance. Needing to switch back & forth between multiple protagonists is a fun gameplay mechanic, although the timing toward the end could have been a little better. The black/adult humor is still there, and it never seems forced. Also, the game is MUCH longer than the original. Some of the puzzles will be a bit frustrating to even seasoned adventure gamers, and the dialogue trees could stand some improving. However, all in all this is a great game that we would recommend to anyone. One of those sequels that you wish you could have played without needing bother with the subpar original.

We have been enjoying this game more than almost any adventure game we’ve played – it’s up there with the classics for us. We especially like that it is not as violent as the first Yesterday, though there’s some disturbing content implied in the flashbacks. Graphics are gorgeous, puzzles v intuitive (little need for walk through, this is a game that makes you feel smart), and the story is genuinely engaging in itself. But … It crashed every 30 minutes or so for a while, and now it’s up to every 2 minutes and is thus unplayable. Please fix, we really would love to finish!

We’ve lost count of how many times it crashes on our iPad. Awesome story line, just can’t get passed certain dialogue scenes before the game shuts down. Doesn’t matter if we hard reset our iPad or reinstall. Please fix this! Would love to see the ending.

We spent several hours playing with no problems. Ever since we updated our phone the game keeps turning off unfortunately. We hate that we cant finish it now.

Doesnt work on iPad Pro since every time we try to look at something we get a black background with a tiny spotlight like searching with a flashlight. Cant use Apple Pencil with it. While the graphics are okay, navigation is cumbersome and we had to fight to try to collect something let along use it. This game hasnt been updated in awhile so Im guessing it no longer works on the newer iPads.

19 Mar 2020 – This is a good game. We’ve enjoyed it alllll the way through the catacombs and NOW it crashes. It has been an excellent challenge w great voice acting and art. But neither Microids nor Penulo offer any way to report a crash, which is just so frustrating and poor business practice. Im sad cos we wanna know what happens! >:(

How do you fail so hard at basic program stability? Its a freaking adventure game. Predictable graphical load, (mostly) linear game state transistion. And it crashes. So hard. Go back to college you amateurs.

Great game until we almost finished and then it said the save was corrupt and we lost all of our progress.

We dont know what these other people are talking about. The tutorial is virtually nonexistent, the gameplay is bad, the ways by which you accomplish tasks is overly complex and convoluted; they are in no way intuitive. We dont want a game whereby we have to keep looking at walkthroughs to continue playing. Generally we would not even care about 0.99 cents, however, we would like a refund because this game caused us pain and suffering. Whoever says this is a good puzzle game is lying and have never played a REAL puzzle game like, The Room or House of DaVinci. At least there the tutorial is helpful and if you get stuck, the hints are useful. This game the programmers spent all their time on encoding these little anime style sequences and pointless conversations between characters. We were very excited when we saw the gameplay and read the reviews. But they were all misleading and not representative of what this game is. Save your dollar and give it to a homeless person who needs it.
