A Glimpse into 1sland
Welcome to “Paddle Royale”, a new chill competition genre where you need to find an island faster than anybody. It’s super zen, and super fun. The competition resets every day, and it’s time-based: You can join and race whenever you want!
But that’s not all. You are given a Home Island that you can improve and customise at will! Start by building something, planting some trees, or modifying the landscape. Then you can go fishing, wander around the ocean, collect wood to craft items, or just relax. Anything you can think of, can be done. And we are constantly improving it with new content!
Some tasks you can do to relax:
- Decorate your island with 100+ items.
- Grow your own crops: Corn, grapes, peaches…
- Modify the layout of your island.
- Collect wood and stone to craft cool items.

A soothing game to feel at ease and discover as you progress to new Islands and fish for specific fish or new island creatures.
Im always on the lookout for small indie games like this. This is our favorite result of those searches. Its a game we didnt know we needed in our life. We went into it expecting a simple fishing game, but it was so much more. It combines open-world exploration with an idle-type of game. You can go out fishing for a while, and all that time, if you set up farms and fisherfolks right, youll be making a ton of money in addition to the fish you catch. And, even if you close the game, it will still make money while youre gone. Another part Im incredibly fond of is the ads. No good free game has no ads. But usually, its not the ads we mind, its how theyre presented. If they blow up in our face every few minutes or are always there at the bottom of the screen, it gets really annoying. But this game presents it perfectly. Ads are entirely optional. You can watch an add to open a chest, or to get free stuff from the shop, but they arent necessities. You get to pick when to watch an ad, and that is amazing. We wish more games would adopt that approach. Another thing we love about this game is the overall design and feel of it. It feels like a real indie game that has real people who actually care about it behind it. We love the way the colors change every so often, and the graphics are great as well. We dont often have our sound on, but we decided to try it with this game, and we absolutely recommend it. The sound design is wonderfully crafted. Theres so much more that cant really be covered in one review, so try it out for yourself. Im less than a day in, and already love it! Thank you so much for making a wonderful game!
We really enjoy this game. The only thing that we still havent figured out is the coin amount. The A, B, C really confuses us and we may be looking to far into it. But at this point we cant build the pier for the 3rd island because we need 50.0c. We have upgraded our fishing house for the same amount with no issue and our balance prior to that was 36.6a. We tried to find information on the coins but havent had luck and no matter how long we stay on the game getting income through fishing, crops, mini games and chests we still cant seem to unlock that pier build.
This game is adorable & addicting! We played it all day yesterday and when we tried to open the app it tells us our Wi-Fi isnt connected- we know it is but we tried turning it off and still said the same thing. We want to keep playing but the app wont open!
We dont understand what is zen about this, every time we try to do something you have to build something, get something, find something, get rid of something else, find weird things that we dont know what they do yet and just super frustrating. We guess it could be good we just dont know whats going on half the time.

Hello :) we wrote a review a while back asking for different islands to get materials from and you guys added it! Thats how we know you guys care about the people playing the game. We came back to this game after a break since we were busy lately. Still love it, and its still really lovely and peaceful. Now our suggestion is to make it more ocean explorer-y. We love the idea of you have to unlock the last island and get the material to make a compass to get the next island, but the blank space when getting the money to build the dock is making it a bit boring. So our idea is to still make the islands that you have to access the last to access the next, but to also have a free ocean with some rogue islands that dont give you material, but just a place for you to stop and explore. It would definitely fill in the time while you try to unlock the islands with the gems. We understand its a small team of 2, and this might be a lot to make, but itll really make it more of an ocean explorer. And Id really enjoy just sailing around to no where with no intent and seeing what we can find! Overall still love this game, and we still recommend it if you need to take a well needed break.
It was fun to discover the island, and groups of other players ships. Now its more of an island builder and Im not a huge fan of games like this. The old concept was more unique, though it appealed to less of an audience we loved it.
In general we love the game but one thing that we noticed that they added recently is the comment feature. All we have to say is that we have not had a great experience with it. As usual we were playing the game and one of the other players on line was making negative comments towards our player after we had lost a competition. Is there a way to disable the comment feature??? We wish they had never added this feature.
The game started off as a battle royale first person to get to an island game. Which was interesting at first and made it a challenge for people who tried to get to an island first. And with some bugs appearing the game appeared to be increasing in popularity until it stagnated and the developers panicked and changed the fundamental idea behind the game. As of writing this review the new update is now no longer about finding an island before everyone else does but now about building a base to earn coins. What those coins do for you other than upgrading the home island and buying/upgrading boats we couldnt say. But nonetheless the developers decided to also tweak how boats function in the game. Instead of it being just a cosmetic so everyone is on an even playing field, now whoever pays the most gets the best boat in the game and can easily win races and beat other players who grind hours upon hours to upgrade their boat. And not only that, there is the issue with chests that plays an ad anytime you want to open one unless you pay more money for a season pass to go ad-free. We really tried giving this game the benefit of the doubt but ever since the new update this feels like a completely different game company made the game just to profit off of ads and gullible people. We dont know what happened behind the scenes between the developers but they had such a cool idea for a mobile game that got ruined by micro transactions and ad palooza. You can still compete with others to find the island but its not the same with the compass pointing the exact direction you need to go and the islands are always close by to the starting point. We remember months ago it took us several minutes to find the island and it gave us such satisfaction when we found it but now it just seems like a waste of time that gives little to no reward. All in all, we really hope the developers fix this game which might already be too late with the amount of money people dumped into this game and the ad revenue they get daily will really not want them to change anything. The only reason Im keeping this a 2 star instead of a 1 is because we really liked the original developers and their simplistic yet fun game they offered. Now its just a memory of a better game than whatever this is.
With the recent update as of Nov2022 now all in game currency (hearts and stars) you were able to earn has been reduced by half at a minimum. Boats used to all have the same base speed, now they have been made extremely slow with a new currency added that you can pay real money for to make them as good as the boats used to be. Boats can no longer be purchased with stars, but now cards as well (the same new currency you use to upgrade boats.) They basically went and turned racing which was more or less about finding the best path to hit speed up orbs and avoid whirlpools/icebergs into a pay us money and you can have first on the leaderboard. It used to be optional and if you were good enough you could make top five regardless if you were paying or not. Now it just seems like they tried to monetize everything and make the grind wayyy longer for things just so youll give them money to speed it up. Maybe things will change back, but we seriously doubt it with how app and console games are now.
1sland is a fun grind, whether you spend money on it or not. Its awesome but theres some bugs (building and fishing). Also, we’ve constantly found myself wondering why the developers didnt include certain menu options or actions throughout different states of gameplay (like checking challenge requirements while fishing, boating, building, etc.). Finally, it would be cool if more item options were added to the shop, like being able to build thin bridges across water to connect different pieces of land. Overall, we really enjoy this game and am commenting because we think its awesome but has a lot of potential for growth and improvement. For those wondering if its purely pay-to-play, its not and is still a lot of funjust takes consistent patience :)
Just want to say LOVE the game. Love how peaceful and chill the game is and we love the concept. Just wanted to make a suggestion on one thing that should be added a bridge! That can connect island blocks. We think that would really go with and add the island theme. We just hate using different colored blocks to use as a bridge to connect our little islands.
Hola! :) This is the first review we’ve ever written. We love this game so much. Its beautifully made, simple and peaceful to play. We like to listen to audiobooks while we play relaxing games, usually puzzle games. Not only is this the first non-puzzle game we’ve played so much, its the first one we’ve ever made in-app purchases on. First because we want to build more things, but also because we want to support your work! So thank you! Super excited to see what else you have planned for the game! The most recent updates are great: new islands/seas/treasures, fish catalog, new landforms, the storage building that has allowed us to organize the supplies we’ve built/earned/found. At first we were disappointed that there were only a few stock buildings on the island because it felt empty. Then we started playing around with the available building materials and things like furniture and objects to build a dozen houses & shops with some fun architectural features. While building a cute ice cream shop out of tiles, mailboxes and sofas has been fun, Id love to have some more building materials to work with. Would also be cool to have more options for earning coins. Crops and fisherman are great, but maybe you could make the other shops do more things? Finally, we like the option to view other peoples islands, but we keep seeing the same few every time we look. Id love to see more, maybe even on a map we could navigate or ways to bookmark fave islands to come back to. Again, thanks for a lovely game!
We love this game and its very entertaining but we would love if there was something that you could add which would make it possible to interact with items that you place on your island like benches, trashcans, swings and many more. Love this game.
We redownloaded this game after like 1-2 years and the game is completely different. While we do appreciate the game devs for keeping it fresh with new ideas and content, we simply can’t get reconnected to the new style at all. We loved being able to explore the map without waiting, and just simply playing a game to find the island first. That being said, we really adore the customization and the fact that players get their own island, that’s really cool.
We love the game and the graphics and all of that cool stuff but theres just one thing that we dont like. After we Play for about 10 minutes it crashes and we have to re-open the game but overall we love it. If you could please fix that bug It would be really great.
We really like the game! Only played it for a day but there is a lot to do already, and isnt boring and is quite relaxing. Only thing is that it doesnt teach you what each item exactly is, you can click on items to make to see what you need though. We found that we needed diamonds to upgrade our compass but it only told us to go to the lava see to find them. We dont know if we need to be fishing or Ill find it floating on the surface. Can someone help us with this problem?
We though that this was a overall amazing game its very relaxing and really helps with stress and we would recommend it to anybody wanting a fun game.
The tutorial has some typos… We know it’s petty but with the game being so polished, well thought out and developed, it feels kinda amateur to have misspellings.
Our game wont open itll say ready but not load or crash the came has a no Wi-Fi sign but we have Wi-Fi and can use other things.
Sergio and Jacobo, This game has come a long way! We remember when we were sick with Covid in a motel room playing this in 2020 and we thought it was the neatest idea. Its both good and bad that the game has evolved from its simplicity and minimalist original design. Today it is a completely different game. We didnt like how you eventually got rid of the be first to find the island premise which was the whole foundation of the game. Now when you do a race its ridiculous with orbs and does not feel at ALL like it did when you had to use flares to find the island. How you decided to get rid of all that is beyond us. The island customization concept which seems to be the focus of the game now, is kind of cool but nowhere near as original of an idea as the first game was. We like the beautifully designed customizations of the island. Minimalism is great! We just read on another review that you can discover things in the open sea so Im going to try playing that way. We are impressed how far you have developed this game. We also suggest you bring back the global races even if they are only a few times a day. Not whenever the player wants. There is something great about competing real time with other players. Im telling you that was the major selling point of 1sland. We imagine the game is more successful with the new premise though. We still think you should bring back global races, 4 times a day or something like that. Of course have it like it was where you couldnt see which direction the others were going because that would spoil the islands location. We used to like wondering what minimal look the next island was going to have, and how they changed with the seasons eventually. Oh well. Bring back the global races!!!!!

We accidentally chose the wrong character when we started the game and we cant find any way to change it. We dont see any options or anything in the clothing shop. Also we might have written this review already, but we wrote it with bad cell service and we dont think it went through, but thats why there might be a second one of these.
This is our favorite little zen game atm! Im not very good at steering the boat, but we like the fishing part the best anyways! We really love that we can plant crops and are able to arrange them (and the buildings) however we like! We do wish there was a drop down menu for the crops youve planted, so we could upgrade them without having to move the character every few crops – or be able to select one crop after another, instead of it exiting the upgrade menu for each crop. Its very nice to look at, we love watching the ocean and fish change colors! And the graphics are super cute! ,,,,also we wanna be able to name and pet the pets,,,
We love this game, its very new, it has a lot of potential but also room to grow. We do believe there should be a tutorials and tips section for players, because besides the beginning you dont really know how to do basic things or how to find stuff out in sea (hints would be appreciated) we also have a personal irritation with how small the bag capacity is. Things we would really like to see in the game is a personal player handbook, a way to add friends and interact with one another besides the whole boats just chilling out in sea. We would like to visit our friends island or be able to travel there by boat. We think it would be fun to fish with friends. Treasure hunting would be cool. We love the games art and how relaxing it is, we hope to see really cool updates in the future.

We’ll start off by saying this game has genuinely helped with a lot of anxiety and stress recently. The soundtrack is amazingly peaceful and it honestly makes this one of the most immersive mobile games we have ever played. The mix of the beautiful Animal Crossing style island builder, with the cash flow/gameplay aspects of an idle game mixed in, and complete lack of worrisome permanence with everything you do probably makes this one of the most relaxing experiences we’ve seen in mobile. It is clearly still fairly early in development with many more features to come we are assuming, so we will admit the game becomes a bit redundant after you buy every building. This point in the game is where fishing becomes a major factor. Fishing is equally as relaxing as the rest of the game, and the only thing we would ask from the developers is to create a wider range of "prizes" for what you catch. Right now it is pretty much either 1 heart or (X) thousand coins which is not a bad thing but it takes a little fun out because it takes some excitement away from what types of fish you catch. Maybe add rarer fish that swim in further away waters, or potentially a seasonal cycle where different types of fish swim during different seasons. Idk, we just know we are very excited for where this game could be headed, and if you are a big fan of 0 stress, complete zen experiences, then this is the game for you. :)
We only checked out this game because of the 1 logo icon. It looked pretty and stood out among all the other apps. The game has not disappointed it is a little silly but we like the exploratory nature and the fun fishing.
We rated it 5 stars because we think its great for such a new game. However, there could be a lot more done with it. Consistent crashes when we complete challenges in the ocean. The race is annoying, because you can so easily get stuck on the bordering bouys or whatever they are. We feel like you can build more stuff on an island you discover in a race vs on your own island. Why? We want to be able to build more stuff on our home land. And finding a container 50 miles from home? Seems a bit ridiculous. Maybe some help/hints with finding stuff out at sea? We want to be able to view a gallery of how many we’ve caught of what. Should be more to catch in the ocean. Percentage of rarity of finding different stuff is fine, but more fish and then being able to look at them and read their little bios later would be fun. Theres a glitch where you fish over fish and it doesnt give you the button at the bottom, that needs fixing. Much more can be done but so far, congratulations developers. Youve made a relaxing game that does not beg you to play for hours on end. The team should be proud of this app and we cannot wait to see where it goes.
The graphics are really nice. But the controls take all that away, because its all most impossible to win any race or challenges with the way you steer your ship. Awful.
The game is so much fun! But after the latest update our barn is missing? We still have the farm but can not purchase a new barn because it says we still have it.
When we open the app there is a screen with boats and a little boat in the background that just goes back and forth on the screenhard to describe but we cant open the app.
Love the graphics and art style. Would love to see some settings for volume and stuff.

This is a very good game. Anyone who wants to get a competitive but relaxing game, here it is. It has a home island, where you grow crops and fish for fish, but also has an open ocean where you race to find an island with helpful flares. One of the only things about this game: not enough stuff. We understand that it might still be in the making process, but it needs more than just a farm, fishing shop, house, pet shop, hat shop, and decorations. We completed everything in about 2 days. We still play it, but it feels like it has no purpose now that we’ve put down everything. And whats the point of making money, just to upgrade more stuff? We would suggest at least a trader shop where you buy different upgrades, boats, decor for you island, and maybe even different types of flares. Other than all of that, we think it has very good potential, and is already a good game.

For some reason our game doesnt load into the game we just stay at a backsplash with no buttons or anything.
Its very pretty, but nothing is intuitive. We were sailing around, fishing, slowly figuring out the controls, then we got a little message about taking a break . Not we cant steer the boat at all, even in the competitions update we completely closed the game and it behaved normally. Still very unclear on how interacting with other players works update- our ability to navigate was taken away again. Very annoying.

We just want to say the game is awesome, BUT it does crash at the worst moments. It could be that we have an older phone. We dont want to give up on this game so we hope it gets fixed soon! Anyway, Happy Season and good job so far!
The tutorial leaves a lot of things unexplained. Most game play goals have to be figured out on your own. Activities outside of the actual races seems to have little to no point. Building up your island is fun until the task list no long has any tasks to do. Driving your boat around could be fun, but the goals dont keep up with what youve done (dont get credit for completing them).
After the update so cant use flares anymore or even buy them. Isnt finding the island the point of the game?
The tutorial did such a horrible job of actually explaining how to build on your island, upgrade buildings, upgrade people, etc., we want to nuke our game save and start over. That doesnt appear to be an option. Even deleting and reinstalling the game doesnt work because it remembers our GameCenter account. We really would like to give this game a second chance, but the game refuses to let us.
When we open the we only so many boats and we can’t do thing we downloaded 7 times an deleted 6 times and it still won’t open can we know why?
