Recent Updates & Development

Latest Update: 10th August 2024

Recent improvements include:
1) Added two new versions of Demon, called "Superior Canfield" which is easier than Demon in that all the cards are dealt face up to the demon and empty spaces in the tableau are not automatically filled from the Demon.
2) Fixed a bug in Demon where sometimes you could place an Ace on the foundations even though the base card first dealt was different.
3) "Card Rotations" On/Off switch is back in the Settings screen.
4) Added a Card "Dragging Height" option in the Settings screen that allows you to adjust the visual height of the cards above the play area when they're dragged around the screen. This adjusts the appearance of the cast shadows.

Community Insight:

Wish we got paid to play! Id be a billionaire.

Developer is tops, too. Responded to and fix an obscure problem. This app is probably the most used on our phone. Cant recommend it enough.

This has got to be the best ever solitaire game we have ever played, we love everything about this, the variety of games, the layout of the games, the way the cards move, we deleted all our other games for this one.

Great variety of solitaire games.

We have spent many hours over many years enjoying these games. This gives us the opportunity to say thank you to the developers.

Best variety of solitaire games available.

Solitaire City is the only card game for which we have paid to remove ads. It has a multitude of games so there is always something to play.

This is by far the best solitaire app we have ever used. And if you get bored with one game there are plenty of others, all with different degrees of difficulty, to choose from. Many years later, still great.

Have played these games for years and still find them superior to other games.

Ad free is the best, plus good tutorials.

This is our favorite solitaire app. Clear images, lots of game variations to pick from. The designs are beautiful, especially the win animation with flying cards.

Ive had the paid version of this for several years. There are plenty of different games that we play it every day and its never boring.

We DETEST daily achievements, force to play goals and leaderboards with ppl you dont know or care to be in a competition with. This is not one of those games. You have the option to actually opt out of competitions u dont even have to use Game Center if u dont want to!! We just want to play a game without all the weird interactions and win game antics. There are some on every win. But no dancing cards, fireworks lighting up the background or a dog doing flips in the back!! We did not mind paying the $$ for this game. Well worth it!!! Thank you for the small thoughts behind this game. Im sure Im not the only one who appreciates the ability to just play a game.

Have been playing this app for 8 years. Love the fact that they add new games and quickly correct problems. Best variety of solitaire games we've found.

Ive had this app for years and it is definitely the best collection of solitaire games Ive seen. And with never-ending different ways or rules to play within each game, Ive been challenged at every turn. We Love them all!!! Thank you!!! Oh yeah, AND NO ADS.

Plenty of different games and options. Options allow for different variations within the game as well as messages during the games. Several backgrounds are built into the app as well as custom backgrounds. Stats are tracked by the app and kept with each game including variations of the game. We love this app and have spent countless hours enjoying it.

Been playing presale for a while this is one of the best versions one annoying thing was the darn yahoo with the end of every game but we did find an option the stuff that son of a biscuit eater into a canon throw it into the east River.

Fun to play and a great way to pass the time waiting for appointments.

Pay the six bucks for ad free, its a really good game.

We love the no ad feature. Also we like the no-win signal so we dont waste time.

Solitaire games are great and standings keep us motivated to play. Highly recommend.

No ads and more time to play! Love it.

We were so sick of seeing all the ads on our previous solitaire game. This game is truly ad free and it allows you to select background and card styles, which we really appreciate. One of the great features is the pause button, which stops the timer until you resume play. Love it.

It's attractive, easy to use, supports multiple devices (iPhone, iPad) well, and has a good selection of games. If we could wish for anything, it would be the addition of new games, but there are quite a few to choose from.

This is the perfect game for all ages. The price is right and no ads to date. You can actually win games. How to play a game is easy to follow. Need more games like this.

Love these games but Casket scoring is broken. They both record the score from the other.

We occasionally get small luls in our workday. Solitaire City is a great "mind reset" and challenging.

This is great – no interruptions and fast play. Many choices of different solitaire games. Can binge play or just play it to relax for a few minutes. Truly enjoy this.

We have played this for years and without a doubt it is always our go to game.

So many games to choose from. Been playing without stopping for nearly a decade! Good instructions and hints. Thoroughly enjoyable.

We are a freecell and solitaire addict. This app is perfect: reliable and with more options than you could ever imagine. Hands down the best interface, game options and user options. 14,000 games played for us. This app is bulletproof and worth every penny.

Why did you remove your awesome as one of the post game comments? We have been playing your game every night for years before we go to sleep. No one ever tells us Im awesome except yall. And now yall dont either. It seems the game has gotten harder too. All we play is Klondike. We have played it 567,000,000,000,014 times. Please put your awesome back before we completely lose our self esteem.

This is our favorite solitaire game. Lots of different games, rock solid app, and it is consistently updated. A+.

We love the games. Please stop putting bogus scores on the personal scores page. Blank personal scoreboards are more honest.

Just when we get bored with one game, we learn another which fascinates us. We just learned a new one last week, after using Solitaire City for two years. A great investment for hundreds and hundreds of hours of fun.

We love this app: it is the best solitaire game on the store, with a huge amount of variety, excellent graphics, and no ads. The publisher never answers emails with feature requests, that's our only gripe.

Just for fun we looked up our original purchase date for this app. October 23rd, 2008. Ive been enjoying it for close to 14 years! Not a bad bargain, given the price. Update 9/27/2024 – PLEASE add a confirmation pop up that asks Are you sure you want to end the current game and start a new one? When the user taps the New or End buttons. We hate it when we hit a button by mistake and wipe out our current game – seems to happen only when Im winning.

This game actually feels similar to the table-top card game we grew up with. The games with variable difficulty settings make us wonder how the deck is shuffled and whats going on behind the scenes. This one is hard because the game is hard. It even dealt us the null game – with no moves at all. Worth every penny.

This app is excellent. Lots of different games to play and level options.

Simple and difficult games. Well put together.

Thousands of games later, we decided to write a review. We have too much fun.

Things randomly stop working. Settings wont reset. Hard start doesnt always reset things. Frustrating.

We have such an appreciation for passing time and playing a mindless game of solitaire, or the like (Klondike, etc.). We love that this app will keep your top scores both locally, for yourself, and globally. The immense amount of customization options are so ideal. Anything from background, to card appearance, sounds, effects, automations, the list goes on and on. We've been in this really intense competition with ourselves (friends – who needs em?) to try and beat our high score. Every now and again we'll place higher than a previous score and very rarely top our fastest time. Satisfying in the sense it wasn't impossible, but the challenge was very much there. We don't know if anything in the app was updated as far as the animations or the probability, mathematically or systematically, but we can't even get close to our previous scores. Like, in a "am we losing our mind?" type sense. We play regularly, so this sudden impossbility to what was an achievable one through practice – it makes a desirable game, less so. We still play, but our mindset sort of faults to passing time with no competitive intent. Which is lame, since nothing beats a solid game of boring solitaire with an insatiable desire to do it really fast for no reason other than self-satisfaction. More so, it seems to be a downgrade, especially by a developer who seemed to know how to make the users really appreciate his app. Who knows, maybe we're just dumber than we were a few weeks ago. We're kind of hoping that's the case and the gameplay wasnt tweaked. Don't mess with a nearly flawless system! Also, as an aside, PLEASE fix the buggy edges of the interface. We can not pick up anything without a double/triple attempt with an aggressive drag to even have the game recognize the touch. We know it's not our phone, as all other interactions near the edges are without fault. Plus, that's sort of been an issue since we downloaded this app. Just an extra request on top of a very wordy remark. Other than that, and the hopes our reaction time is based on ourselves and not the app's algorithm/mechanics/system responses being altered – all peachy. Maybe just look into a couple things, which would be really cool of you. Probably even a "5 star" rating level of cool.

Game often draws cards twice instead of once when pressed, and when we undo it we lose points for the games issue. We really enjoy this game, we just wish we could undo stuff without losing points. Also, some game modes dont allow undo at all, which is hard when we accidentally click something.

We like this game better than others we have tried, had an older version that didnt work on our new iPhone 16; question for developer, is there a setting that makes a card automatically turn face up after removing a card from the stack? Old version and other games we have tried automatically reveal a card without having to touch the card back.

Its no frills, and the ad free keeps it stress free. However, not cool that the App Support button leads to 404 error after filling out and submitting form.

Ive been playing this for years and it is a great solitaire app. Nearly perfect and worth every penny. There are two things Id change though: The auto-complete mode adds 1 second for each card it moves home and this is a huge score penalty, so we never use it. We instead do it manually which takes significantly less time. The Vegas scoring for Klondike is worthless. There are so many losing games that its impossible to get a positive score. And with no undo, any mistake you make from accidentally tapping the screen is devastating. We guess if you think of the score as the Casinos and not yours it makes sense :) but staring at negative $30,000 while experiencing constant losing streaks is pointless.

After updates and bug fixes this is the very best of ALL solitaire games out there. The graphics are fabulous and there are many games to play. But there are some glitches. The cards arent shuffling properly and we get many cards all the same!! The playing field is usually three or four of the same card, then another two or three the same; so we could have four 10s, two Queens, three 7s, and more duplicates over and over. Each time we press the New button ridiculous duplicates each time. Once in a great while, Ill get only two pairs of duplicates and we can play that but as we play, we usually uncover more ridiculous amounts of duplicates. Another thing that is ridiculous is the Global Scoreboard. There are some people who have a computer program that plays the game (Spiderette for example) for them and finish the game in say, 35 seconds!! That is impossible for a human to play that fast but they are on the scoreboard. Still, we find mindless fun and we hold out hope for actual random shuffles.

Although Ive enjoyed playing Klondike for years on this app but the scoring system is inconsistent and at times seems arbitrary. The rules state that scoring is largely based on time. Yet a sufficiently better time often doesnt receive a record beating score. So a game played with little to zero mistakes and a time of 1:38 doesnt beat our lowest Top 10 score? Seems off to us. Frustrating.

The only thing that makes us give it 4 instead of 5 stars is that there is no are you sure? On the replay this game option. Several times we have paused a game and accidentally hit the replay this game button and thrown away a great deal. Other than that, this is a great game with a bunch of solitaire games we have never played. Our current favorite is Casket.
