Its quite fun and although it is quite P2W to get in the higher ranks the people who are OP and P2W are all super friendly and everyones very nice in helping newer players or explaining things to them. Just ask! We do think this game could do better by being more f2p players but we dont think itll happen since its these types of games but we personally love the community in the game, everyones just very nice and glad to offer any help when you ask! The game does get repetitive tho but the storyline (if thats what you came to this game for) is interesting and not boring like 90% of these types of games. But it gets a little harder to level up to unlock the next story as you get higher and theres also a level cap on how high you can get depending on how strong and high your nation (the server you first pick to use when you start the game) so id recommend to pick to join servers that have been up for a long time so the level cap is as high as possible (we didnt know this when starting and our servers level cap is around 150ish) so do keep that in mind.
A lot of bullying in game from higher lvl players, Strong Clans create their own rules and repress other small clans, admins do nothing about it. Also game needs a lot money for every event not so good for FTP.
Used to love this game until it became so p2w. You're barely able to get good rewards unless the server you're in is p2w, and it only gets worse once cross server unlocks.
It really is a p2w game, but there are still opportunities for f2p. A great game with strong communities.

As a relatively older player whom has seen most of the games content and made quite a few friends while also enjoying ourselves, we would say PoL is a great and relaxing game to play whenever you feel like doing nothing at all. Yes, dailies can get fairly annoying along with most things being P2W, but overall it can also be played as a F2P. We must admit Ive spent a fortune on this game and we dont regret it at all. However, we would enjoy more bond options since Xiao Qian is a character we have grown to admire. Beautifully written and all of the bond options are great by themselves. Case Inquiry, specifically Cattle Breeze, can definitely get updated and as most whom have played know that its one of the only things that cause a major headache. Cattle brat, just give us our UR art cores. ().
WHO TOLD CHU TANG SHE COULD DIE? WHO. Cause we solved the murder and who framed her and she killed herself? Our best friend- no, but like and then our family accused us of stealing the token becuz we aint wanna get married like- but nah, we love it. We love the story. But we dont trust NOBODYYY except chu tang (RIP ) and Mu Lingchen.
This game is very addicting and fun so far (Ive only been playing for three days), the only very small issue is a bug where we click on a side mission to go somewhere like Palace Patrol but it causes us to not be able to do anything else. For example, we could finish up a certain quest, but when we try to go to others, it just says something like Unable to go, focus on main event first. We have no way to fix it but to exit the game entirely and come back in hopes it saved our recent data. This is not a bug problem but its ver annoying, so please fix it. Thanks.
We've played the game all day every day and we knew it by the name fate of the empires why change it? Still a good game tho.
We downloaded this game a few years ago for fun but we didn't expect it to be so addicting to play. The animation for the characters' ultimates were surprising as they're pretty high quality. Overall, it's a very relaxing game with plenty of things to do, regular events, beautiful art, compelling storyline, etc. However, we have one problem. We CAN'T LOOK BACK ON PAST LETTERS (in character bond) AND CHANGE MY DIALOGUE FOR DIFFERENT RESPONSES!!! ugly crying we had spent the better part of the past two or so years on-and-off playing by raising our relationship bond with Xiao Qian (he's cute), and today we'd FINALLY filled it to the max for sweet vow. But then disaster struck! We clicked the wrong dialogue option during the final bond letter and fumbled….head in hands So now we're here to formally ask for the ability to view old letters in bond and change our dialogues to see what other responses we could've gotten (please, for the sake of our happiness…).
Love this game but Im downloading it again after a long time and Im so sad that we cant log in with a gmail account that means we lost all our progress and our old account.
It wont let us login on promise of Lingyun.
We feel like if a game runs ads in English it should let you pick your language once it finishes downloading all the data, but it didnt, so we have no clue where to go to get to the settings so we can even check if theres language options. Three stars cause even though we cant play it, its just so gorgeous, so if you can read mandarin (we apologize if that isnt the language used here, Im just guessing mandarin because from what we remember mandarin kanji looks a lot like this but Im just a sad white boy we apologize ) or are willing to try and find the settings menu, we highly recommend you check it out. Not worth it for us tho.
Im kind of sad that you cant change your name because we were thinking that Chan would be added to the back of our name so we name ourselves hi and now Im stuck with that but the overall game is amazing. We played for almost 3 days and Im almost level 40. Its so addicting.
Wow this game is gorgeous, well written, and fun! Even though there are pte elements, they arent necessary & you can have a ton of fun and feel like youre making progress without it. Its more combat focused than outfit focused so far, but Ive kind of enjoyed that as we dont feel locked out of events as a newer player. We kind of think of this as the feminist version of things like Fate of the Empress, in a very good way! We love the added choice elements. Its deeper than a flavor text as most choices give +personality trait points, which lead to different bonuses. As a huge fan of RPGs as a whole, Ive also really appreciated the ability to spec your team. This helps with ftp & early game stuff as well because you can make a tanky dps, or a high dmg tank if you want/need. Also the characters & relationships are great! Very swoon worthy.
We havent played it yet but us reading the reviews its seems like a good game to play and we hope it is but we just gave it a 5 stars because it seems fun :)).

Honest review: Ive played pol for a good 8 months continuously, we downloaded as a joke at first but somehow it was pretty addicting, the people are really nice and a lot of them help out new players! Its a great environment but as any game, the p2w aspect of pol is seriously insane. Its basically really p2w based and after a while after you get used to the game and gain might, you see that it starts to get super difficult if youre a f2p. PLEASE MAKE IT EASIER! The main thing for us is that the server merges annoy us quite a lot, its for the better but its definitely a major reason to why we quit. However, other than a few small complains here and there we would recommend this! Its somewhat complicated at first but its quite nice when you sort of get the hang of it. A piece of advice for new players: troth some rich single person thats active in your server.
This is a pretty good game overall except for it is soooo hard to level up you seriously need to make it easier to level up Thank you for your time.
This game is great. It has a storyline that will grab your attention and keep you wanting more. The gameplay is actually fun and not boring. The only hassle is the interface is all over the place. It doesnt make sense and can be time consuming. Fix that and you have a winner.
First, do understand we love and highly recommend this game. The art, music, and story are beautiful. This is a well-crafted, complex game that takes a player to an alternate reality. We have met lovely people in this game as well. This is a P2W game but F2P can enjoy a fantastic, ad-free experience, too, and go very far. We do encourage people who like RPG to join us in PoL. That said, there are aspects of the game that should be corrected. Certain events such as Firmament Call, allow higher level players to keep new people dead and unable to play at all. They do this by standing over the lower levels in revive camp to wait for them to come alive, then kill them immediately. This is poor sportsmanship and selfish as the higher levels are doing this to compete with each other for maximum kills with no regard for newer players. The developers could stop this by not allowing farming in the revive camp, or lower points for subsequent kills of the same player. Fair warning, there are bullies in the game. It is possible to have a great experience in PoL despite the behaviors described above. Hopefully, the developers will address some aspects of the game.
How can we rename our character because it's says we need points or something please help us figure this out.
Lovely game!!! We downloaded it three days ago and Im having a lot of fun. The story is very interesting and the characters are very handsome, our only complaint is that the layout is very busy. Also we dont know if its possible to romance Mu Lingchen but we really want to.
As someone who was a devoted Royal Chaos player, Promise of Lingyun has a far more interesting storyline. Chu Tang will forever be #1 in our heart so we beg the developers, please let us romance more characters! Additionally, please make the female clothes prettier/cooler. We find ourselves jealous of the male outfits and wish the female characters can wear them too! Royal Chaos had the opposite problem and the females looked 100% better than the males. We also want to look as beautiful as the people we want to romance TT.
YESSSSS we LOVE THIS AHHHHHHHH Its so calmingg!! Our mom actually got us into this game and im obsessed!!! The people on our server are so nice and chill. We actually made some really good friends here. We love the outfits so muchhh buy we feel like some of the chibis could use some improvement. We chose the guy and we feel like some of the girls outfits are more detailed. But some of the outfits are still cuteee! The events are also so fun and even if you dont spend money you can still get strong !! -aikim (S25).
Insanely high production with very low ratings. Makes you think this isnt a good game but it is more engaging and addictive than most big title mobile games.
Ive been playing Lingyun for a while now, and its a great game that we highly recommend. It has a fun, engaging, and compelling storyline, beautiful graphics and animations that you can tell took time and effort. There are multiple different sub-characters with various backgrounds and storylines, beautiful voice acting, and just an overall high quality. As someone who never spends money on mobile games, Ive come across multiple different games requiring you to pay to advance – Lingyun is far from the case. Advancing and leveling up is still fun and rewarding even after months of playing. It takes effort and time like all games, but you can still advance without spending every waking moment playing (or more importantly, without paying).
Its fun but sometimes the plot gets boring for us and we just do side quests and so the point is cool but sometimes boring.
The Heir ads make it look like you can marry and have heirs with NPCs (thats those hotties always flirting with her) and thats not true. You can only marry another gamer. Maybe youre thinking the ad didnt lie its just a different ML the gamer is playing as sorry but you can only play as Xu Rongyuan and not the hot prince seen in the heir ads. . The marriage and heir system was the main reason we dropped Fate of the Empress, made by the same people who made this. We found Revenge of the Queen, which is fun and you can marry and have heirs with NPCs (separate from the main story). The story aspect in that game gets pretty difficult early on though so we went looking for a new game and started this. . The investigation part of the game is fun, the minigames are relatively simple, addictive, and diverse and the story flows fairly easily. Im super disappointed in the misleading heir ads (that play every time we sign in to rub it in our nose in it sigh) but Im playing for the story aspect. Ill fulfill the other marriage and heir stuff in Revenge of the Queen haha. . EDIT: if the clothes part is major for you Id suggest Revenge of the Queen. Its a pain to get the items you need to make clothes but doesnt feel nigh impossible the way it does in this game. (Theyre also prettier for the most part w/ more variety & easier to craft) . The office duties (although completely lacking in hints or direction on how to choose who for what, youre pretty much guessing), dispatch, inspection, roam, and investigative story are worth sticking around for, though. . By the way not every game like this needs to have a social aspect. We wish we could play these games without dealing with other players to be honest. So much random drama and feelings getting hurt when all we want to do is relax and distract ourselves from the stressors of life.
We loved the app it was so amazing. It was like very nice saw on YouTube and we decided to give it a try cause Ive seen it a lot and it was so fun. We enjoyed all the plots and we dont regret at playing. Its a very fun game. We would definitely recommend to others who want a game like this we also enjoyed the storyline. One thing that happened is that we got logged out of our account and we had to log back in.
Lately, we can no longer play this on our macbook pro. It no longer gets past showing the loading screen, it crashing almost instantly. This is really upsetting as it was a game we would play everyday. We just can't play it on our phone due to too small a screen. Guess we'll have to find a new game.

There is a very long part at the beginning where the only thing you do is skip or listen to dialogue. Now we know because of our next reason, it seems like we dont have good internet, but be fooled. In the game, it often kicks us out of the game and/or glitches. This is NOT because of bad internet because it has never happened in our TWO YEARS of owning our phone. And lastly to conclude, we played for 10 minutes, and we wasnt addicted. Moral of the story- Dont trust advertisements on youtube. Honestly just download Genshin Impact.
We started this game because we saw an ad and it interested us. We honestly thought it was going to be another one of those quickly made pay-to-wins, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the game. Its genuinely interesting and has animated scenes, which impressed us quite a bit. Overall, its a great game! Its not our favorite genre, but we know those who enjoy this type of game will love it.
We rarely to never write reviews but we had to here! We want to start of by saying that if you like historical cdramas you will like this game. We just started playing today but so far we really love the game. The storyline is beautifully written, not to mention the art!! From the drawings to the animations. Feels like Im watching a donghua! We also love the chibis we cant say how it will fare in regards to character build etc. In later gameplay but so far its a ftp game. Also, the soundtrack is beautiful! We tried to find it on apple music but shazam couldnt pull it up so we guess its not on there sadly.

So we download this game to see if it was bad because other games that say there like this not good but than we see the game it's not bad and no lag outfits are good you get to have choices and fighting choose outfits and makeup so over all we think this is good.
This game is so much fun its everything we ever thought of but we deleted the game thinking we will download it later when we have enough space and when we download it back it did save all our data. But when we deleted it again and signed in with the same account it refreshed it!. We were so sad and when we tried to see if there was any login button we saw one but it was with Facebook not gameplay. So we are really sad right now please fix this.
We LOVE THIS GAME! The outfits are beautiful, the heroes and other characters and beautiful and handsome, You can make friends on there and build your relationships in troth! You can adopt cute girls and boys too! But.. Ever since we got full requirements to adopt a child it says "we have to be a reliant guardian." which confuses us. It's not that our game crashed either it just doesn't work for us and if we don't adopt we wont be able to live our dream of have virtual children!! It's an amazing game experience overall! We just hope someone could help us with getting rid of the error. Thanks for reading.
This game is pretty good, we know people including us are gonna skip a good amount of dialogue and story, the story line is actually hella dramatic and youll find yourself invested once you actually read it. The gameplay flows nicely even if it gets repetitive. Other then that its a good game with pretty art and a riveting story. Also love how our character nearly got assassinated like twice.
Promise of Lingyun has a compelling story with an addicting gameplay system. It is very easy to progress early on, and its very fun to grind. You have the ability to communicate with other players. The userbase is friendly and helpful, which is great. The character designs are beautiful and the art style is very pleasing to look at. Unlike a majority of the advertisements, the game is mostly in 2D, with cute chibi sprites scattered around the world. The game is PTW, however F2P players can also progress well. There is a gacha system for the battle feature and early on its very easy to get good characters. Overall, this game surprised us with how good it is, especially since its a mobile game. Theres quite a lot to do. If you want to add us Im Korres on NA-S19 btw lol.
The story is good so far and there aren't any intrusive ads or overkill pop ups to get you to spend money surprisingly. We think theres like one pop up telling you about rewards for spending money, but Ive only gotten it upon opening the game.
This game is a hidden gem. Interesting storyline, amazing art style, fun activities, and really nice social interaction with the friendliest players Ive seen in any game. Its similar to the excellent Fate of the Empress, but with watercolor graphics. Plus, its kind to both free to pay and paying players. Definitely worth a try! The only downsides are that the nighttime activities are too late (11pm EST) and that theres an awful lot of luck involved.

We swear to the holy god this game is literally calming, soo many outfits with each looking absolutely stunning, but this isnt what this review is about, rather the Heir thing. Us personally we have yet to unlock the feature but from the video played once you open the game we cant already tell your game will become majorly boosted, the ability to have an heir with from what we can guess etheir your favorite character or a friend, both of which is good. Just know you guys have made the absolute correct decision in creating the most cracked people making ridiculously big litters of about 11 children each, but fear not for these creatures are not rats around the city, but an army getting bigger each year. To summarize it, 10/10 adding some awards there too.
When we first got a ad for this, we thought the game was bad like other moblie games, but when we downloaded it It was so cool and it was addicting.
