Community Insight:
Although we really enjoyed this game very much when we first purchased it. Back then we dont have much problem like glitch from this game. But right now Ive been seeing a lot of glitch which we never had back then such as troop especially cavalry get stuck in one place couldnt able to move even though all the enemy troop been killed they just attack the air. Also a glitch where infantry cant even get into their siege tower sometimes. We never had these problem before until now. We hope you fix some of these and this is a pretty nice game.
This game is so freakin laggy we put the unit to recommend still laggy and Im playing on a mini iPad 2 so pls fixe it.
We enjoy playing the campaign as all the barbarian factions, but is it possible to play as the Celts, Berbers, and all those other barb factions? By completing the short campaigns or something? As far as we know, we cant edit the game files like on PC/Mac. Any help would be swell. Thanks.
Its a great game and a great port. We were playing as the Saxons and won, but the victory screen had the text of the defeat screen. It still says victory at the top, but under it has the writing that it would give you if you lost the campaign. About the Roman Empire falling too. Other than that it works mostly fine.
It is one of our favorite games on our mobile device by far, but we just wish we can play with all the factions like in Rome total war. We would love to see an update that allows that. Keep up the good work.
No problems with it keep up good work maybe bring some Napoleon total war.
Will there be other total war games like Napoleon wars.
This game is amazing it as everything we could ask fore except one thing naval battles but it not a big Deal we now how hard it is to make such a amazing game like this one and other on the iPad so dont think on it to much just keep it in mind.
We love the games iOS and PC. We love how now we can play these awesome games but for iPad we play them all the time when Im bored and for fun too. Its laggy sometimes almost to the point where we have to restart the app. We only have one idea or suggestion for a next expansion in the iPad series. Total War: Warhammer. We know it would be super hard to actually put into the iPad version but it would be awesome! We give you guys 5 stars the game deserves it.
We have loved this game since we bought it. But maybe adding a deployment phase for custom battles. But maybe they should add more factions that are different like the sassanids or berbers.
Beautiful port of a classic total war game to the tablet. The skins for the chosen archers for the Alemannic faction are bugged. This might just be us, we would provide a picture if we could.
Guys we found out it was us sorry for blaming your company.
A Vary good game we just love the time period and the individual playing stiles although we wish you would release a medieval total war on mobile with these graphics, but that's just us, good job.
This is a great game for people who like historical settings in their games P.S. Feral, will you add any of the other total war games to mobile.
We originally had a lag problem with the game, but it seemed to go away and now we can play the larger units with little to no lag. No sure what happened, and we're glad it did, and now we play on the Grand Campaign also problem free. The only issue at the moment is that our tablet sometimes can't handle the awesomeness of 800 legionaries assaulting over a 1,000 sassind scum in a full blown siege, and we haven't learned our lesson to wait them out… There's just some things you can't skip, especially Total War (we're not a sell out, yet).
Rome: Total War, along with the stand alone expansion, Barbarian Invasion, are the best military strategy games to ever come to iPad. We would go as far as to say that they are the best games on iPad… Period! Great replay value due to the many factions you can play and game support is excellent! Feral Interactive did a outstanding job porting these games over from PC, so try these games and see what a iPad can really do.
The historical setting of the game makes it almost unrecognizable to the original Rome, its as if it is a whole new TW game and the campaigns are all amazing, but the game is also really hard if you choose to play as the romans, because Atilla's r*pe train doesn't stop for nobody, but still a really fun game, hoping for more.
Works Great on iPad Pro. Glad to see this finally on mobile! Looking forward to more.
The range marker, the playable factions, et cetra, please, nuff said.
We wish there could have been some old units like prectorean guard or hastati. Everything else was great.
Good game but we would like the ability to play as other groups like the Gaelic or the berbers.
Its one of our favorite games and we spend way too much time on it. But we love playing as Rome, and the famous Roman infantry is so easily defeated by any barbarian heavy infantry. Even when experience levels are the same, the Roman comitatenses are easily destroyed by other groups of heavy infantry like the chosen axemen. And it doesnt help that they are expensive. When you defeat a massive army in a stunning heroic victory, the enemy just presses an army multiplier and theres another huge army coming at you again. We know there cant be that much money to continually replace heavy troops, especially when we can barely retrain our troops that quickly. Also, when our generals have the ability to fight in the night, we never get the option to do so. Overall theyre just nitpicks and we do always choose the hardest difficulty for battles. Fantastic game and we recommend to pretty much everyone.
Could use a few improvements. No total war iPad game lets you consistently command troops in to straight formations. In many spots, the formations will not go into the formation you command it to do despite the green dots lining up right. In the vandal campaign, every time you accept a marriage to daughter, Ludwiga, after you sack then later occupy Rome, the game instantly crashes. Only the generals unit ever acts like an actual military unit, every other one flees to easily. Even the hardcore Roman legions have been known to inexplicably flee after fighting one peasant unit. So improvements would be welcome and/or mod capability. Other times, ONE unit can obliterate an entire army 20 tines its size. It feels a wee bit unbalanced. Some bugs make us wonder how well it was tested first. Otherwise it works pretty well. It feels and runs a bit smoother than the original. The fact it works and was ported to mobile devices at all is also amazing.
We purchased this game about a month ago due to a lack of updates on Rome:Total War. We expected some new units, and some new maps but we received a lot more than we were expecting. There are dozens of new completely different units which are amazing. But on the downside there are no siege maps which is the only bad side of this addition to the total war mobile franchise. It is a very good value for only $5 compared to the original. If you are on the border we would encourage you to buy this game.
One of our favorite games. Few suggestions. We wish that we can fight in the navy battles, and we wish you can control the General like a button for attack rally troops and shield. The idea for another game would be WW2 we would play it so much.
We would like you to add naval battles and was a bit disappointed in that fact bit this game was pretty great we would love to see ntw in the future although it wouldnt look as great as in computers it would still be amazing.
Although its fun it has a lot of crashes especially during sieges.
Love the game but the game will freeze on our iPad after a battle and the screen just locks with a closeup of horses and soldiers and you cannot get out of it it has happened twice and the only thing you can do is delete game and reinstall very annoying if you have been on a long campaign for it gets wiped out.
Really fun but every time we siege a city our army disappears after that.
It seems that you start off with everyone at war with you and they all come for you at the same time. One nation has 4 full armies and all of our cities have 1/8 th of an army. Can you see a problem. Within 5 turns constantinople is destroyed. Game over. By.
So we had the game for one day and what we dont like about already is the loading screen taking forever. But after the loading screen we had lots of fun. However during our campaign using the Franks it kept on freezing. Is there a problem with IOS.
The cheats dont work,The game is super laggy, the interface is not updated compared to the base game and it has horrible resolution, doesnt even take the whole screen.
We have no idea how people enjoy playing this. We started off on the easiest setting and Im losing every single attempt. Getting a refund.
This game is awesome and works almost perfectly. Only problem is that it sometimes will shut off when we close our iPad and the auto save corrupts! We just destroyed the Huns with the Franks us with 387 men and them with 1200 and 2200 in reserve. 173 losses and 723 kills before they broke and ran from our walls. They ran right into our ambush of 527 men and lost 1473 we think. We were so mad when it corrupted after that! We just put it down to take a breather! We thought we were lost! And then we were hopefully this update we are currently downloading will fix it. Thanks going to buy total war now as soon as we submit this review.
Is there any way you can make it were you can battle with ships. And what we mean is view the battle and command you ships. And we have a iPad mini2 we believe and we can't do a siege on huge city it crashes if you could fix that that would be great. But other then that we really really really really like the game 10 out of 10.
Not only a great port to iOS, but hands down the best RTS available. We hope to see a few other titles from the total war series ported over as well. It's also nice to see less of these games that have tons of micro transactions.
It's the Rome total war we all remember. It's literally a regular computer game from 2004 ported to the iPad. It shows what the iPad is capable of. Back in the days of age of empires, empire earth, and civilization, comes this gem of strategy war gaming history. The game feels and runs like it's meant for iPad. Feral Interactive's recent update addressed the unit size problem for the new iPad 2017 models. Unit sizes are now 80, and the game seems to run better. It's the most fun your going to have on the iPad if your casually or really into strategy games.
Would like to be able to play the Romano-British or Celt faction, the "Unlock all Factions" setting does nothing in Barbarian Invasion. OTW, great game.
We're very happy that the update has fixed all of our past issues with this game. Not only did it fix the problems but it added some nice tweaks. The only reason we're giving this a four star is because we find the game in general to be inferior to the original Rome Total War. The game is still fun though and is a fine expansion to add to your Total War library. Our one request to the developer is the the tweaks added in the update, the half speed option in particular, should also be added to the original Rome Total War as we find ourselves playing that one more often and want to enjoy the same features.
Love the game but find that unlike Rome total War. We win the battle, have majority of troops left. Then decide to occupy settlement. And lose all our troops (Huns) for some reason could bot find reason in Manuel Hard to take and settle when you troops are lost after the battle is won. Hope this gets fixed love the game and could deserve five stars easy.
Total War we love your games and we hope you continue on iPad but if you are you should add Medival 2 Total War . That total war game was one of your more popular total war games . Also we think in the game you can be able to control EVERY faction in the campaign . And we think it should be possible in the settings mode you can have Third Age Total War installed if you want . That mod is very popular so iPad people should be able to experience that too . Thank you for reading our comment.
In the video it shows units of like 100 80 and stuff but when we got on it showed units of like 32 21 20 plz fix it's a great game though.
We do admit we find the game a bore but the game runs perfectly and everything is done r that we're just not a fan of the game and we won't mark it down for that.not to developers DO NOT RELEAR ALEXANDER we CAN WAIT FOR SOMETHING ELSE.
Seriously amazed at having this game on the iPad, one more reason why we don't use our desktop that much anymore. Quickly got used to the controls and it's so fun! Like we said in title, can't wait for Medieval 2! :).
We love both of the iOS total war games but we've always had a problem with unit size. Our units have 40 men while our iPad can handle 80 men. We've also wished for larger battalion or army sizes. For example on total war Rome (original) we've always wanted to make a roman legion but the unit sizes and the limited unit space we've never been able to. We've always wanted this problem to be fixed.
One of our most favorite games in our iPad,we buy both Rome total war,and Rome total war Barbarian, our suggestions is improve more the graphics make more realistic the surrounding.if you can do also the Rome 2 total war in iPad we don't mind to pay double.we downloaded this game in our Mac mini it doesn't work.all in all this games was awesome.
This game is absolutely perfect in our opinion except for one thing. Any time we do large scale battles. The game crashes as soon as we end the battle and try to return to the map. Will this ever be fixed or why does this happen.
A great port of a classic game! It is more difficult than the original Rome Total War, but the satisfaction of saving the Roman Empire from destruction or trampling over the light of civilization as a Barbarian menace is quite immense.
We have the Other Rome game and we think this is a perfect parody to ROME Total war.
One of our all time favorite games.
