Community Insight:
This game was good and interesting and the hints were helpful.
We love the Rusty Lake style. And the music is amazing. Icahn play all these games over and over again. They make us so happy.
We never leave reviews but we think we must on this game, not only this game but all these games, they leave you wondering about yourself and who you are as a person.these stories they tell in these games really have a deep meaning behind it we have played these games over and over again and still we are flabbergasted on how deep these storys are ,if you are looking at this review we do recommend playing it (gets dark if your into it).
Thanks for your work. We love this game though some clues are hard to connected with others.
We loooved it super fun and made us think overall 100000/10.
Id like to leave a positive review, but we dont understand why we keep getting kicked out of the slide puzzle- we always have just one move left.
We remember finding this game as a kid and getting stumped since we were- you know we child but we loved the art style and just the game worked. We found it again today we finally beat the game and we just gotta say this game takes metaphors to a whole other level.
Its so good we actually played it 15 times! At first you might be a little confused if you never played these type of games, but you will get used to it and will fall in love with these types of games if you like escape rooms, a little bit of creepiness, and riddles. These are the types of games for you! And Im one of those people so when we found these games we went full obsessed mode. And now Im playing most of these games every day! So we really think your going to like it! :) : D.
The Rusty Lake team are one of the most creative and captivating game writers Ive ever had the pleasure to know about. We have never left a review on an app before, but we so strongly love what these people are doing we felt like it was our duty to let others know.
Cool game, fun hard puzzles, overall, very sigma game.
We love this game, and it might be our favorite rusty lake game on computer. The reason we say this is because when you go through the hole in the guys head in the IOS mobile version, one of the cubes to add to the picture frame is missing, making it impossible to complete the game. It would be fantastic if it was fixed, thank you.
Minor spoilers: we accidently fed the bird the worm and it didn't seem like that's what was supposed to happen but the worm is gone and there's no more seeds and eggs to get us another one so we had to reset. (EDIT: we reset and found out that instead of needing to re do it, the worm would just appear again on the pan) This also happened to us in Seasons when we got rlly far into the game but couldn't continue cause we got hard locked so we gave up finishing it :( maybe there could be an extra button in settings that would put you back a step that you've done Incase you do an action that causes you not to be able to advance as long as you haven't closed the app etc etc :(.
Great game, but insanely short lived. We want MORE lol.
We like the game so far but the stupid raven one where you have to turn on and off the lightbulbs it is so hard.
We were really enjoying these unique games, especially the bad dream after too many tacos imagery. But in this seventh episode, when the man at the bar shoots himself in the head leaving a gaping hole with blood dripping out, we think you may have crossed a line into real world psychologically disturbing. Maybe thats what you were going for! Maybe Im just naive. But we closed the app, deleted it, and we wont be downloading any more rusty lake.
Thank you for making them inventive, dark, addictive, and entertaining. When we start one, we cant put it down until we finish. Im glad you have the you tube walk throughs, though we try not to use them, you do get stuck sometimes. We prefer logic t o trial and error and most of the puzzles can be logicd. Thank you, we cant wait for another one. We wish you would do more after quests, like in roots, we really enjoyed going back for more.
Ive been a fan of Rusty like for quite a while now. This was great! We loved it.
This is one of the best rusty lake games Ive seen! Id give it a 10/10 if it was a little easier. Some of the stages were a little too difficult and we needed to follow a video. But over all 9/10! Amazing game.
We love Rusty Lake. Cannot get enough.
Am we being hypnotized? Im onto you guys.
Why does it reload even when we follow the same moves as the tutorial??? Lost a star for that annoying feature.
The characters are really dark but its very well thought of and put together kinda makes you rethink your perspectives.
We have play all rosty lakes game and we hope thats can develop more games.
Ive played all of these games in chronological order. The free ones are short, the chapters you have to pay for are much longer. Theyre worth purchasing. Do yourself a favor if you like creepy, interesting puzzle games. Buy and download all of the chapters, Google the chronological order of these games, and play them in order. We cant wait for more chapters to be released.
This one comes in second behind Harvey in our book. With more plot, more characters, and a weird look into the bird people it has it all. Reminds us of one of the last bojack horseman episodes where he faces all the people that died around him. They perform on a stage before drifting away. Its very somber but still eerie.
One of the best games we've played after the famous 'Azada'.
Ok It is so fun its worth your time and we spent 2 days on this app its so fun and we just started playing cube escape the mill its already so fun and we love all the cube escape games this is our favorite one so far and if youre struggling you can check out on YouTube the rusty lake channel we used it and its helping a lot get it please.
Ive played several games from this maker and none have let us down.
And just the right amount of difficulty. We recently discovered the Rusty Lake series and have REALLY enjoyed it. Good job.
Every one of their games are a gem! If you like challenging puzzles with an engaging and quirky storyline, get the whole series and play away. Order doesnt matter, but theres probably a best order to follow to make things make sense. We may do them again in order just to see how it flows.
The cube escape games are our absolute favorite. They never disappoint.
These cube escape games just keep ramping it up with each new chapter. The puzzles are characteristically interesting and fairly clever, but its the bizarro storyline and often unexpectedly gruesome scenarios that have us almost craving the next installment. Theatre has all this, plus a bit more character interaction and some nice music to boot. Once again we find ourselves caught between horror and giggling while we stare in disbelief at some artfully disturbing imagery as we tumble down this rabbit-hole of What the heck?!. We guess Ill continue enjoying the ride as we download the next one and brace ourselves for some more mental mayhem. Kudos to Rusty Lake.
We've feel like we've entered the Twilight Zone, a surreal consciousness where weird hallucinations afflict the mind, entrapping the psyche of a mentally fragile man who spirals into madness, conjuring up macabre visions of contorted reality. The plot is certainly not subtle in its creepiness, as it delivers pure suspense, keeping us in a steady mental state of trepidation. The minimal environmental details maintain our focus on the clues relative to the plot, rather than be distracted by extraneous fill-ins. Some of the depictions are outrageously morbid, making us want to crawl out of our skin such as traveling through the bloody ear canal. But the sheer bizarreness of it all piqued our curiosity, drawing us deeper into the breakdown of mind and emotion. We learned little of the characters, adding a mysterious layer to the storyline. Each theatrical act takes us through another dimension, offering intricately crafted puzzles that persuade us to stretch our imagination. The developers are true nonconformists; they demonstrate bravado, as they defy predictability and break away from the ordinary gameplay that plagues most other games out there on the market. These games are not for the faint-of-heart, those people who dislike feeling uncomfortable and getting queasy over sensitive topics and graphic imagery. However, we, personally, like to transcend over the boundaries of confinement and expectation, looking for something raw, something unorthodox and these games provide exactly that.
Ive played these games multiple times on the computer, and its so fun playing them again in app form! This one was especially fun to play on our phone. We absolutely love these games, theres something about them that draws us in and we cant stop thinking about them.
The games not to long and its common sense puzzles. Not to difficult. And if you like the first chapter there are more chapters to play, which is great, and there are other weird stories also. We love the characters too. To bad theyre all so sad.
We need some help, we LOVE these games and really want to play this one but when we finish the thing for the lady of the lake nothing happens! The curtains dont close and the red light doesnt turn on like in the walk through. Is it broken? Ive restarted a bunch and redownloaded the app 3 times.
Great game overall but umm…was it just us or did having to plunge out an aborted fetus from the toilet not disturb anyone else? It was a good game but we think that plunging out an aborted fetus from the toilet was just… Taking it a little too far. We were really disturbed by it.
Its a really entertaining game, sure, but WHAT ORDER DO THEY GO IN?!?!?!? We cant find the order they go in. Also, Im really frustrated because you actually have to download another app to keep playing and its really annoying. Ive played the paradox one too, we just didnt finish it. Im super super confused on where it starts, what to do, how to do it… So yeah. We dont understand it. Where is the setting, what am we trying to do, who am we, whos the girl… Other than that the puzzles are super super fun and entertaining and if you dont mind being confused and left out in some stuff, its an awesome game. Our suggestion is to maybe put the number of the order on the game in the App Store so we can download them in order and understand the game more. And whoever came up with these puzzles are a genius. Great game.
But we encountered many bugs in the game. In the section with the pipes, the egg disappeared and was unretrievable after we put it in the wrong pipe. Now it just happened again with the worm/maggot. We put it in the pipe ending in the flower pot and now its vanished. Very annoying that Ive had to restart this game twice.
Love the series and this one looks as good as the others, but we think there's a bug that is keeping us from moving past the lady of the lake: we get the flower but then the next step as shown in the video walkthrough just doesn't happen.
We love playing these games but will not anymore because of the disturbing unnecessary part when you pull a dead baby called a fetus out of the toilet with a plunger. DISGUSTING AND DISTURBING. Very sad for anyone who has been through the trauma of miscarrying and can be very triggering.
Love these games but this one has glitches. Freezes up in curtain puzzles: Parrot received seeds and dropped egg. Dropped egg for Petri dish and puzzle froze. Had to restart. Got back to curtain and solved up to the 4 shapes puzzle then froze again. Got tired and that was all for us.
Please get rid of this. It ruined the entire game for us. Ive bought all your Rusty Lake games and played all the free ones- but this one put a damper on everything. Call us overly sensitive if you want, but worrying about dead babies popping up in games is something we dont like doing.
The quality of the puzzles are top rate, and we appreciated having a storyline to follow. But pulling a dead baby from a toilet?? Really?! Before we did the plunge, we hesitated thinking it might be a dead goldfish, so when the baby came out we were mortified. That is absolutely unacceptable and revolting. These creators are sick, and Im sorry we gave them $2 (from another game). There are certain lines you dont cross, and entertainment is not an excuse for it.
Birthday was really really good but this one was just as good if not better. We absolutely adored it and the new interactions there were. The fact that there was the little puzzles on the stage were beautiful as well. It also wasnt insanely difficult but still challenging and got you thinking. Very well made. We have high expectations for the next games and we have no doubt they will be just as amazing.
We love how this makes us use our brain! Ive played all of them and cant wait for more! Two thumbs up.
We just wrote a review panning the game because we thought the game had lost our progress. Come to find out it was us. Our bad. Enjoy this game a bunch and now that we know how to drill down one step Im sure we will continue to like solving it. Recommend it to anyone.
We LOVE these games! Shout outs to the developers, fo sho.
Ive played seasons and the mill so far after playing paradox and though we also enjoyed the mill, this one is our favorite so far, probably because we liked the ambiance of the theatre (reminded us even more of a lynchian vibe!) as well as the different acts. Cant stop playing cube games.
We first saw cube escape on ihascupquakes YouTube video and we loved it. Since then Ive played every single game that rusty lake has made. We would recommend all the games to everyone because it is so good. If you enjoy eerie games and puzzles then we 10/10 recommend you to play all of them. It may take you a long time to figure out some of the puzzles but its so worth it.
