We love it. It is difficult, and fun. This game should be the example for any mobile game.
A closed minded individual would be quick to point out the games dated aesthetic, but to us, that only adds to the endless charm that this game exudes. The music? Absolutely incredible. No other music would fit this game as well as it does, and it without fail will lose us in the world of bug heroes. But enough about how the game is presented, hows the actual gameplay? Well as the title suggested, spotless. It would take us a very very long time to think of a hole in the games design. Nothing is completely flawless but bug heroes is the closest to flawless Ive ever seen a game come to. The biggest bug Ive found in the game all about bugs is being able to get out of maps with assassin cut, but its never happened unintentionally. Each hero has a reason to exist, a million different strategies to use, on top of being able to compliment the other heroes very well. But how about the enemies? We feel not a single enemy on the list is filler. Every single enemy is unique in some way and they will shake up the gameplay in interesting ways. Youve got your standard weak alone but strong in numbers enemies like the flea, army flea, and the army ant, and youve got your more tough enemies like the armor ant and the slug, then youve got the strongest ones like bumble bee and scorpion. This is where most games would hang it up and call it a day on the enemy design. Instead of doing that, bug heroes will throw all sorts of new challenges your way with each new enemy encountered. Here are some good examples: the mama spider is a giant spider that will spawn in one of the corners of the map, her babies will sprint towards you to latch on. If they do, youll be slowed slightly for each baby latched on, and you wont be able to kill them until they all get pushed off which happens every few seconds. So once you see the baby spiders going for you, you know you have to hunt down the mama spider immediately before it becomes a big problem. Or theres the caterpillar which is the same sort of concept, however it will directly threaten your defense by either taking a huge chunk of your bases health or killing it instantly. So its of the essence to kill it as quickly as you can. Another bug on the we need to kill this thing asap is the centipede. Which will make you focus your entire firepower directly on it, but it will warn you the second one spawns. There are also the specialty bugs like the ladybug which will continuously heal the other bugs, or the other ladybug variant which will shield them. In the playroom, the pond, and the yard, youve got hazards in the maps themselves that will try to kill you. All that is a tiny and we really do mean insignificantly teeny tiny piece of the gameplay explained away. That on top of base turrets, pickups, weapon upgrades, quests, coliseum, the insectopedia, achievements, and endless other things Id be sitting here talking about for hours all combined into this incredible package of the game is what makes us truly believe that this is the greatest mobile game to ever exist. And we do not say that lightly. Ive played so many countless mobile games, we know when its nostalgia guiding us and when its not, we know more about obscure games from over a decade ago than any sane person ever should. And out of any game we have ever played on mobile, heck, any game Ive really played in general, none have ever had the amount of thought, love, and effort put into the game especially given the circumstances of development as this one has. It will continue to endlessly fascinate us as to how something of this quality was even created and will forever inspire us to better ourselves. It is our favorite piece of media ever and will always continue to be. If we only had one six star review to give in our entire lifetime it would be this game. To say we recommend this game would be an incredibly large understatement. Support the devs and either download this or buy the premium version. You will not regret it.
We were so addicted to this game in like 2014, so addicted. We had it on a really old iPod and since we wasnt allowed to play video games Id sneak onto this game every free min we had. We come back to it every few years for nostalgic purposes and still enjoy it.
Ive been playing this game for about 10 years now. We always come back every now and then to play, we cant believe this gem of a game isnt more well known.
Since we were a jit this was the go to game, im saying back in 08/09 THIS was the staple video game of our childhood.. It hurts us to see its irreverence today but we always find ourselves coming back we love this game.

We cant believe this game still runs in 2022, its still as good as before. The purchases in our opinion are affordable and really cool. We wish the developers would add coop for bug heros one. If they did we would be playing 24/7.
This is the greatest game known to man. It just needs controller support to be perfect.
There are no words in the English language, which is factually the most expressive of every known language, to describe the charm of big heroes. As of writing this, there is less than 100 reviews of this game and they all are generally positive. That, is a fitting circumstance for this game. It is possibly one of the most obscure and phenomenal of all mobile games. It is a mobile game equivalent of a cult film, it is unknown but has a small yet dedicated following. We are not yet old enough to use the proper vernacular to describe this Gift, of a game, but we do hope you reading this will give this little game a chance. Because it might just surprise you.
As entitled, this game is one of, if not the, greatest game in the history of mobile video games. It has got unlimited challenges and is just a lot of fun to play, solo or multiplayer. This necessarily needs a third version. Please keep on updating it, so that it works with newer IOS versions. And if possible, Please publish the third version of this game. We used to play this when we were younger, we love it <3.
We love bug heroes 1 and 2 how ever please add mercenarys in version 1.
We know this is an older game, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun. We are very happy that this is still on the App Store. When we were younger, it was on our second generation iPod and we loved it. We didn't think it would still be in the App Store, but when we recently downloaded it again on a different, much newer device, it worked just as well as it did on the old iPod, to our appreciation. Our only complaint, that isn't even a complaint really, just a suggestion, is that when spider does her jump and slice close up move, two of her legs stay on the ground while her body is in the air. You may want to fix that, but it isn't a big deal if you don't. We have yet to try Bug Heroes 2, but we are looking forward to when we do.
First off it leaves a beautiful nostalgic feeling overall. We may still be you but we remember playing this when we were 3 and it was great.
Pretty much the best, most entertaining game on the App Store. Ive had this game for years and have played it relentlessly. We would give this game 5 stars as it is the perfect RPG with such depth and its unique little world and style. We honestly think it outshines big heroes 2, but mostly in the music and simplicity departments. So many good memories. Thanks forsaken media for keeping this awesome bug battling game running for every new iOS system.
We played this when we were four, five, and six. This game has been on our mind ever sense then. We are a preteen now and we cant wait to try this game out on a newer device. We had this game on our old we-Pad which was actually the original version.

Bug whos is such a great game and theres nothing better that feeling of nostalgia. It brings back so many great memories. Just as amazing as we remember it! We know this game has been around for a while and the graphics arent the best but Skyrim doesnt have the best graphics either and look at how great of a game that is! Please take a chance on the game and enjoy. Ps devs keep updating.
This game is VERY awesome and fun but playing by your self is kinda boring.so why can you guys make online multiplayer.just when you know you are good at survival you can play survival with people.so when you play online you can play with three people.also plz agree with us we really want to play with our cousins.
Great game and lots of fun to play. If there were one thing we would add, it would be permanent cash with permanent upgrades. The upgrades, would of course, have to be expensive.
So happy they upgraded this to 64 bit. It doesn't end (like temple run or something), but it is different each time you play. We can spend an few mins playing here and there with save games, or we can play for an hour straight blowing up bugs and scorpions and snails. Great times.
Bug heroes 1 will always be our favorite mobile game, we feel it's even better than bug heroes 2 in some aspects. Love the concept of a bug inhabited world with the history scrolls, all in all the lore is fantastic. 10/10.

One of the best and most immersive games that we've returned to over and over. Needs to be updated for iPhone X and provide support to restore past purchases (there's a loading bug now whenever we press restore purchases. Also crashes to often on iPhone X perhaps bc of lack of support for wider display. Please update and don't let one of our favorite games age and go to waste.
This is a phenomenal game, Ive been playing Bug Heroes for years and really appreciate this game. However, the game constantly crashes making it unplayable because our progress is never saved.
We started to play this game almost 5 years ago and we still love it. The only problem is that it crashes and freezes a lot. Pls fix.
Its a great game we must admit. But one major problem is that it constantly freezes for no reason. We cant play for very long before it crashes. This is a problem that NEEDS to be fixed. Please fix it.
Great game but you have to mash on buttons to make them work. Its annoying and gets you killed.
The game is extremely solid gameplay wise with tons of content. But the game will freeze and seemingly not unfreeze, and when you close and reopen it wiped a seemingly random amount of progress (Going from wave 7 to 4, or just restarting to wave 1) Its very disappointing and we doubt a review will matter but we have almost all the content besides treasure trove and its a precious childhood game.
All three Bug Heroes games are amazing. In their own right. The original Bug Heroes (this game) as well as Quest are the only 2 games we have EVER bought in-app purchases from, and that says a lot coming from a person with majority free apps. (PS: Termite is our favorite Hero :D).
We've been playing this game for a long time, and it never gets old. Our only problem is that you HAVE to spend real money to play as other characters, which we hate. But otherwise, this game may be one of the best games on the App Store, hands down.
This game was from our child hood. We remember playing this with one of our friends when we had sleep overs, and it was amazing! Overall this game is very fun, challenging and very simple and easy to play.

We love this game we bought every pack but there should be a mode where you set what round to go up to and try to reach that round,but not coliseum where it's still endless. Also there should be an endless round (what it is at the moment). LOVE this game.
These aren't really bugs but they need to be fixed. "Bug" number one: Ant. No not really. Problem number one: there's still ads saying "BUG HEROES 2! Coming February 2014!" It's April 2015 and bug heroes 2 is out, you should probably fix that. Problem number two: with the reinforcements pack-thing (which is the best pack to get) let's say we're playing as pill bug, but when we open up the upgrades menu, it says ladybug on all the abilities O.o problem number three: the store still says "new!" …It's not new anymore. But this game is really good, we have all three bug heroes games and still play them.

But we would still like for you to put Bug Heroes 2 for devices with 5.0 and up because we're using an ipad one and cant get bug heroes 2 cause it requires 6.0 and up. Hey everyone who still supports Bug Heroes. Anyways we would like it if you bring some Mew bugs like the one on the second Bug Heroes, that would be awesome and please don't forget about Bug Heroes a few more people still got respect for you and we think everyone who's still here would enjoy it very much.

Some of us is still here. We suggest making the screen wider to newer devices such as iPhone 5/6 because the screen is meant for a 4 which is considered old now. Just because Bug Heroes 2 came out doesn't mean you should totally abandon this game, because honestly we like this version a lot better, as strange as it is. Make constant updates as well, don't disappoint your customers.
We usually love games like this it's like a pizza it's all good we were just disappointed when we learned that the end was locked behind a paywall other than that we would have given five.
We got this game and we bought flying bugs and treasure trover but we wanted to restore our purchases but when we restored and we waited an hour nothing happened. We need help.

This is one of the best apps we have ever played better than most console games.
