Viridi – Simulation Game Review
![]()
Viridi is a Simulation/Lifestyle game from Badru LLC, first launched in 20th June 2016.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 1,040+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes Viridi Stand Out
Nurture a small pot of succulents that grow in real time.
Viridi is a safe haven, a place you can return to for a moment of peace and quiet whenever, and wherever you need it.
While not fully realistic (they're very forgiving), your succulents will require some maintenance and can die from over- or under-watering. Name your favorite plants, give them special care and attention, and they might even flower for you.
Viridi is free to try and comes with your choice of plant assortment. If you think it has a place in your life, you can buy your favorite plants from the in-game nursery for just a few cents a piece. Remember to visit the nursery occasionally for your weekly free seeding!

Community Insight:
Plants dont die in this game and you can take photos of your plants And Im very happy now.
We cant believe its been 10 years!? Yeah, the premise is simple, but thats the beauty of it because it is well done, doesnt over explain, doesnt have ads or glitches, it works. Its a tranquil retreat where you can tend to your garden. Patience, calm slowing down to admire and tend to your pot, you relax. The music soothes, the plants grow (realistically), the color tones soothe. This time around we get what the gentle pulse of the view is doing, very subtle, but relaxing in its breath like movement. Its stupid simple, no distractions, no diversions. Its balm for our over stimulated, dopamine driven souls. We seriously miss some of these abstract-ish, art games of that era.
We love this game its so good nothing we want to change also it is kid friendly and so cute definitely recommend.
We dont know why but ive played this game nonstop for two years and one day we saw we couldnt update it anymore, thank you so much to whoever made it possible for us to water our babies again.
Ive been playing this game for years now and we do it subconsciously its so relaxing and easy to play. Its really fun although we do wish there were more pot options or even a background option you dont even have to spend money for it to be fun or nice.
Ive had this app consistently for around 8-9 years now. Please get it. You dont need to interact much, maybe a few minutes every couple days. The impact, however, can be huge. Depending on how you use the app, it can soothe emotions, clear your mind, help engage focus, (our kids even love it). Its simple, pretty, and easy to use. 10000% worth the (relatively little) time.
This game is beautiful, the graphics, plants, music, and even the visuals are amazing. Unlike other "relaxing" games you don't have to complete or achieve something which is very calming. Nature is beautiful in many ways, isn't it.
Our friends call us silly for spending so much time on this game. But the one on the computer has us waking up just to check on our little plants. A bit of joy to start our day. Thank you.
Viridi is a great game that helps calm our mind. We love the music. It doesnt add any stress to our mind. It also doesnt blow up our phone with notifications like other apps.
Im not really an fps or mmorpg kind of player; we like Tetris and d&d quests, Im not an fast action gamer. We also own close to fifty succulents, so this game is definitely our cuppa. Slow moving, plants growing in near real time, soft soothing music, muted colours, low key in every way, we love this game so much. We could sit and watch one of our planters spin slowly for an hour or more; its soporific, but thats what we were looking for! We like the in-app purchases rather than an initial payout. It feels like going to the nursery and picking up a new plant and/or pot. We like the snail on the rims of the pots. It tickles us that you can sing to it along with the plants! We have three pots going rn in all three settings, and its fun and very soothing for us to pull out our phone when Im on the bus, put in our ear buds, and pull up this app. Five stars, absolutely.
Ive had this game for years and years. Im not sure if its getting anymore updates but Id love to see some more plants.
Honestly we didnt expect to love this game as much as we do. We just check it every few days to see how much theyve grown and water them, plant our new seedling every week, its so fun to see how much theyve grown since we got it. We love it so much. Id love to see more options in the future as someone else suggested, options for ads for seedlings and other pots or something. Even without, 5 stars.
We have a love for cacti and succulents, but not enough space to grow them. This app is perfect for our suculenty needs. When you put a succulent out of the pot though, it says you throw the succulent into the garden so we just imagine a pile of dying succulents, their roots exposed to the hot blistering sun, slowly fading away, so could you change it to say you plant the succulents in the garden. That would help us sleep better at night.
We love this game, it really doesnt feel much till you wake up at 6 every morning to sit outside and check on your plants makes us actually happy to get up for once in our life, its calming and we enjoy it much! We also named the snail clementine btw:>.
Ive had our lil plants for years. Theyre precious, the game is calming, we love the little snail, the peaceful music, and the intermittent fireflies. Just perfect.
We have to say, we looove it! Although we have only played for a week, we have totally fallen in love with this game! The succulents are forgiving (thankfully, because we are a beginner in gardening) and the graphics are simple and great. We strongly advise this app for people who need to relax a bit. We spend only a few minutes on Viridi, singing to our plants, watering them, watching them grow. We thank the developers for making such a wonderful game! (we will probably edit this later btw).
Idk why, but theres just something so calming and nice about this app compared to others. Theres not too much to do, just collect succulents, visit and water them every day, and watch them grow. But its nice that way. Im a plant fanatic, we have a bit of a plant collection Irl haha, so we just adore this app. The snail is our bestie.
This game is really great, relaxing, fun. Love . We really wish more could happen. Like, it could rain in a cute little over the plants. Or butterflies could fly by and maybe your plants could get diseases and you would have to do special stuff to cure them. Also, there should be multiple pots you can plant at once, because just one is boring sometimes. All you do is water a few plants and sing a song to them. If you just water the plants, it takes less than half a minute every day. We cant get the sound to work for the songs, if there is any at all. We are having a problem with our s. There are weeds growing in them!!!!!! AND we cant get them out! Usually, you just tap the weeds to pluck them, but we cant do that because theyre in the middle of the plants! Ive tried moving the plants, but the weeds just move with them. The weed in our purple Sempurvivium (we didnt spell that correctly, did we?) is bigger than the plant itself and purple, with a pink flower. Our plant is purple anyway, so it doesnt stand out that much, but we would really like to remove it. Thx for reading.
Very pretty and the music is so nice n_n we use it to fall asleep sometimes! We'd love a few updates to this; we're definitely tempted to buy one of the extra pots but we just feel like there isn't quite enough content for now.
We got emotionally attached to timmy, our plant.
Viridi has been awesome to use! We love the calming atmosphere it provides, and it doesnt make us use more screentime than we should. Just a couple minutes a day, weeding and watering, and then going back to what we were doing. Amazing app, wouldnt change a thing! And if anyone came here to complain about the in app purchases, please dont. These people need to make some kind of income, and this is how. There could be ads, which are very annoying, and we definitely dont want that. Plus, they give you a free seed everyweek. Thats more than enough.
We never leave reviews but Ive had this app for a year. Which, for us, is rare when it comes to any games or idle games for that matter. We have very bad anxiety but whenever Im escalating, this app helps calm us down. The music, the background, our little snail bean, and let alone the plants are just so soothing. It really helps at distracting our brain during these moments. Love to support this indie game.
Every time we open the app, we are focused on taking the best care of our plants, ad its the first thing we open. The music puts even calms our most tense nerves! We absolutely LOVE plants, so this is the perfect app for us.
We've always liked this app, gives us something to look forward to in our day :).
Can ya update??? Oh btw its a peaceful game. If anybody sees this pls remember us.
After engaging with the app for a week, we noticed that we took it out to help us sit through our sons dental appointment. We interact with it to take a mental break when Im laser-focused on a task, and it helps us not get diverted. For example, we might have an impulse to check social media or text someone but those would be things that we could easily get distracted with. If the app is singing to something and it is happy, we are happy there and then we easily stay on track. This is more wonderful than we thought it would be!! Therefore, we thought we would never do in-app purchases to get more seeds but we can see why we would. We love watching the plants change over time. We realize we love the sound of the water bottle and taking the weeds out; it feels satisfying. Beautiful app.
We love this the plants are very cute and fun to care for :)) we also love the snail it is very cute.
We cant have plants at the moment and this app keeps us busy with at least virtual nursery for now. Looking forward to some updates because the last one was 3 years ago.
This game is so awesome. Its so relaxing. This is what we wish those relaxing Instagram ads actually were. Sometimes we just open the app and listen to the amazing music. Yeah, download this app.
We love this game to keep us calm when we get stressed. Whenever we travel and we miss our plants at home. Its A+ and the snail is the cutest addition.
We never bother with reviews but we got this game when we had bad anxiety issues and it was one of the few things we could do during our day to take a step back and breath. Watching our virtual plants grow with little to no in-game punishment for forgetting a few days of watering was an amazing help for us during those times. If you want to relax theres no better game.
We've been playing this for almost 2 years and we've never deleted it or gotten bored, it's relaxing and the music is tranquil we love viridi.
We have played this game many times before, but Im leaving it a rating because of how therapeutic and calming it is. We love this app! We really recommend it.
After the passing of bob (our first succulent), this app more than filled a void. Ive especially grown to appreciate the permanence of Fiori (our very full pot of plants in this amazing app). Generally though its a relaxing experience that somehow never gets boring. Its also gorgeous to look at.
We love the art! We love that its not very time consuming. We love watching our plants grow slowly over time. The fireflies at night are an awesome touch.
We have owned four different phones in the last 4-5 years and this is always on our phone. The art style is simplistic and vivid, UI is sleek and the additional pots are creative and welcome. We do hope there will be more pots with interesting backdrops that are free. As for the succulents themselves, we love getting a random freebie succulent every once in a while. Keeps us motivated to keep checking the green house to see what we get! We love simulation games like this, we hope there is more to come in the future.
We love this app. So relaxing! Great for meditation it shows plants growing.
We have never known peace until this game. Highly recommend.
This game is extremely relaxing, as well as anxiety-reducing. Ive been playing for-yes we know-just a few days, but we still love this game! The way you can grow plants at real time is just like real plants! And the ambiance is just perfect. Although we have seen a few reviews that are from a year ago, saying that their plants completely reset, sometimes with a different pot, and this game was updated two years ago, so Ill watch out for that. (Please update soon, no one wants to become attached to something dearly, working hard for it, and suddenly its gone. Despite that, we know youre a new-ish game that needs funds, and more people playing it, so just do what you do.) Everything else though is fantastic! Keep up the good work! ~CheeseBurgerMister.
Ive had this app for years, and we cant say we have a single complaint. Viridi saw an unclaimed branch of the app world and conquered it, and did so flawlessly. Ive never spent money on this app, and it doesnt make you feel the need to. The music is very calming, the plants are diverse and lovely, and the snail is absolutely adorable. Viridi is one of our favorite apps on our phone.
We absolutely love this app everything about it! And the music is so amazing thanks so much for creating such a fun relaxing game Ive had our plans for over a year now just awesome.
We suffer with deep depression and anxiety. We recently found this game and instantly fell in love. It really relaxes us when stressed. We sometimes plug in our earplugs and listen to the background music. It is truly a beautiful game and we highly recommend if you like calming games.
Before this app, we had nothing. Viridi changed our life for the better, and downloading it is the best decision Ive made in our life. This app is more than just an app. Its a calling. The sweet serenity of virtual succulents raises in our heart a glorious feeling of contentment and peace. Reality has shifted from a painful and cruel instrument with which existence tortures our souls to a beautiful pot of succulents. Every day when we wake up and look at our sweet garden of little children, tears well in our eyes as we realize our importance to the world. If life has meaning, Viridi is that meaning.
We love this game, but we wish it had a vacation mode like on the pc version. Ive had a couple close calls, but luckily never lost any succulents. It would just make the game that much more relaxing if we knew we could pause it if we couldnt tend to it for an extended period of time.
This game is really peaceful. There isnt many ads, it has soft colors, and the music is smooth and relaxing. Would recommend this.
We've been playing this forever. We love tending plants and watching them grow and change. It's very relaxing and helps a lot with our anxiety by giving us something to focus on and keep us busy. We love plants and flowers and have tons of them irl. We wanted to know if you could develop, or if you could reach out to the creators about making app like this where you tend other kind of plants like flowers too. A flower garden app or something similar would be great.
Such a cute and wholesome game. We love the music. It makes us question our existence.
Great relaxing game for non gamers! But need more updates please and another free pot, a small pot maybe?.. More plants/succulents, different backgrounds, and maybe TWO free seedlings a week instead of one! This is our new favorite game, just wish there was more updates even though its an older game. Highly highly recommend for non gamers.
We really like it Its not exactly a game but more of a pet The graphics are really cute and the music is really pretty Its a great app for when youre bored or stressed and need a couple minutes to cool down.. And you get to learn about succulents while youre at it :) Overall a great app.
We dont know how many times we can say it! We love this game! It is beautiful, relaxing, NOT time consuming, and fun! This app is beautiful. It is a plant game where you grow a pot of succulents in real time. The color scheme of the rest of the app follows the colors of succulents (one of the reasons we love succulents). It uses pale greens, blues, purples and earthy tones. Nothing is in your face or vibrant. It is great for relaxing, such as we check on our pot before we go to bed and when we wake up. This game is relaxing. There are NO ADS!! This game has not one ad. So, you dont have to worry about some crazy music blasting out of your phone randomly, or anything of the sort. There is just you and your pot. As afore mentioned, the color scheme is relaxing, but so is the game play. This apps whole premise is to grow plants, but the creators of this app have so wonderfully executed the tranquil experience of actually growing plants we just cannot even explain it. You just tap away weeds and water your succulents and enjoy the little snail that slowly circles your pot (wow cute). This game is not time consuming! You just open it for a minute, make sure your plants are doing ok and then you can move on with your day. You dont have to spend an hour a day. You just visit when its convenient. Since the plants grow in real time (the weeds, not so much) you don't even have to check it daily, which, for someone like us with a busy life, it is very appreciated. This app is fun! This app is the best app for all of the previously mentioned reasons. It is relaxing, easy to look at, easy to maintain, and simple to understand. The app doesnt even have a tutorial or explanation. It is super simple. We enjoy the simplistic, tranquil way that this app was made. Thanks for reading this far. We are now going to move on to suggestions for the app developers, so if you want to know wether or not to get this app then youve got your answer. One suggestion we have is that you should make it a little easier to move around the pot. We would rather spin around the whole pot rather than just the selected plant. We would also really like it if we could change the angle that we look at the pot. Such as from above or level with the pot. Another thing is being able to zoom in. That feature would tramendously improve this app. Our second suggestion is that we could have a list of the plants on the side of the screen or something, that has the stats of each plant. This way instead of turning the pot around three times to make sure we got all the plants, we could check the list. We would also really enjoy more stats for each plant, such as happiness or something. Thank you amazing app developers for creating Viridi. We enjoy this app and will always have it on our phone. Thank you again for all your amazing hard work. 5 stars.
