Community Insight:

We finished the first Lost Grimoires and really enjoyed it. Great visuals and story lines. Also has some fun mini games that are challenging. We want to play the 3rd in the series next ! We really enjoyed the game.

Really enjoying this HOG. Extremely well thought out. Excellent back story, graphics and game design. The HO Scenes have just the right amount of difficulty. Great bonus HO's to find that make you stop and appreciate the beautiful graphics of each new scene. No glitches we have encountered. Appreciate the discount on the early release. So happy to see quality games being produced again. We're willing to wait on quality over quantity every time. So thanks again Artifex Mundi for being willing to stand apart. NOTE: Just an every day gamer, not asked, paid or compensated in any way for our review.

Lost Grimoires is an excellent game Beautiful graphics.

Wow! The storyline and graphics are amazing. We were so intrigued by this game we hated being interrupted to write a review. We bought this game when they first released it…and now we can kick ourselves for not playing sooner. It's that good.

We enjoyed this game. It was longer than we expected. Just when we thought it was over, the story kept playing out, which was nice. We do wish that there was a bonus game. Those are our favorites! Overall fun though.

Fun and a little easy, but challenging enough to keep our brain buzzing.

Again, Artifex does it and this time more than ever! What an original and lovely game. Thank you.

Just started. So far we are intrigued. Custom setting, labeled inventory, interactive map, collectibles. Recommend.

Artifex Mundi does it again – A wonderful game, with such uniqueness, beautiful graphics and an intriguing storyline. Teleporting map given, interesting hidden object scenes & puzzles. Great character voiceovers – Need we say more! This is a game well worth buying and we have been enjoying it thoroughly. Thank you for such an entertaining game & we hope to see more games from you soon. We always look forward to your releases, as you always deliver!!! KdBoots.

Fun game, a bit short and no bonus game, and we agree with others , we hate pop ups asking us to rate it!! Just relax, we will when we finish, ask us then.

Artifex Mundi delivers another good game. Great artwork and puzzles. Love the HOS that do not rely on darkness.

For the price this was a good little game. You could customize settings. The graphics were beautiful. The storyline, although not very original, still managed to hold our interest. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. There was an excellent teleport map and loading was instantaneous between locations. At each location you collect rose symbols. The HO scenes had some variation but there wasn't anything unusual about them. The gimmick in this game is that you get to perform alchemy to require potions/items to further your game, and the alchemy kit had its own mini-game. There was a satisfying amount of puzzles/games, and in that variety was something for everyone. Some were games of skill and dexterity, others were rotational, and others were artistic. This game ran very smoothly. It wasn't a terribly long game, and we would have enjoyed a bonus adventure, but for $2.99 it was definitely worth playing. We are deducting a star for length, lack of a cohesive journal and lack of wallpapers. Still and all we would definitely recommend it to others. Lynxie sends to Catalina, KimTwilight, Izzyoc, Dracyy and the rest of the DTE! Off to play the new Sea of Lies! Hope it's a good one.

To clarify..this is by World Loom games (Artifex is the Publisher, World Loom is the developer). So shout out to World Loom..credit due for a fine game, decent story, unique (although repetitive) puzzles, fairly good length, no glitches or crashes; and to Artifex..thank you as always for low $2.99 intro price, but please don't request ratings so many times DURING gameplay. That pop-up is annoying. Thanks.

Pretty good game. We're not a fan of the hidden object scenes and this game uses them sparingly compared to some others in the genre. Our complaint (again) is the nagging pop up boxes to review the game. For heavens sake, enough already. Let us finish the thing so we know what we're rating. Asking for reviews every half hour is just stupid and bad practice. We hope Apple brings down the hammer on this nonsense.

Its a great game with good graphics, but it needs to be updated because the voices do not go along with the cut scenes.

Like this game and Grimoires 3 very much, but for 6.99 should be a bonus chapter. First Ive encountered this with Artifex Mundi. Obviously didnt realize until Id completed games. Disappointed. Back in the day there used to be two prices: one basic and one includes extra chapter. No indication that this didnt include extra chapter.

Game is good. It is short. We like longer game we can enjoy. It's fun and play anyway.

Didn't hold our interest enough for us to purchase full version.

This is not our favorite in the series. The plot fails to instill any new ideas in our imagination, and we find ourselves to be bit bored. Some common fantastical elements are integrated into the story as you explore a land full of mystery, magic, potion-making, and heroism. The graphics are aesthetically impressive with enough emphasis on the finely hand-drawn scenes that they depict a realistic perception of the surroundings. In custom mode, the teleport map allows for brisk travel to labeled locations and indicates available actions. Non-map transition between scenes is fluid; no glitches. Locations are labeled as you travel. The HOS(s) comprise varying fashions, and they are tastefully executed. Some of them will advance the actions in progress; we love the one where you find the alchemy equipment to complete your alchemy set, which you will periodically use throughout your adventure. The puzzles, as simplistic as they might be, are entertaining, creative, and relative to the storyline; one type is to look through a telescope and find the items in accordance with the Captain's instructions. We also cherish the story-book format in which you find and manipulate objects in accordance with the narrative backstory. The collection sets are conspicuously placed; no challenges here. The game does contain most of the main components we expect, but it is unmemorable with regards to the storyline. In addition, the length of the game is fairly short; and a bonus chapter is not included. The game is worth the sale price–but no more. We rate this 3 stars.

3.5 stars bumped down to 3 World Loom Games brings us another Lost Grimoires tale. Story is not original and the characters, dialog and plot are somewhat simplistic but we are enjoying the game nonetheless. Smooth gameplay, quick transitions between scenes, custom mode of play, collectible roses in each scene. If you can get past the squeaky annoying voice of young prince Fern, this might be your cup of tea. No regrets about spending $2.99 for this game for us.

Easy game on expert level, some bugs on iPad Air 2, same puzzles over and over. Not worth 2.99.

This is very disappointing the number of big fish games that quit to desktop early on. It quits when you open the door to the library. Casual playthrough.

We are using an iPad Air and am stuck in the Well of Blight. The area we need to select is cut off on the far left and we cannot continue. We have tried to submit this through the form on the website with a screenshot and keep getting an error. Can this be fixed or can we get a refund? We cannot finish the game at this point. :(.

But, the use of rhino horn in a so-called "scientific-based" cure is too much for us, particularly given the horrors of what just happened at the zoo in France. We cannot play.
