User Reviews on Family Mysteries 3

This was a great title and one of the longest gameplay times we’ve experienced from this developer. Mini-games were challenging at times, which we like. There was some back and forth regarding scenes and object placement, but we also enjoy that. Im always surprised to hear so many players within the HOAG genre dislike this feature we believe its one of the few gameplay features that separates HOAG from Escape Room. If players are looking for a one-room-at-time experience, this isnt the game or the genre (IMO) for them. Overall, this game had a great storyline and very few (if any) non-sensical tasks, for which cheating is often the only likely way through. The only time we had to refer to the walkthrough was for that cursed puzzle that requires you to click on the red buttons to turn them all green. (Im sure there is a strategy to that one but we just dont seem to have the patience or brain capacity to figure it out. ) This was also a welcomed reprieve from the fantasy approach (which we do enjoy but we also appreciate some essence of true crime injected into these stories every now and then). Great job to the developers! Well worth the $7, IMO! We would love to see more future titles from AM (true crime, fantasy or whatever!) follow this format of gameplay, length of playtime, and difficulty.

All around great experience. There was variety on the HOSs. Interesting storyline. Music wasnt obnoxious. Yet we could mute it and play our own. Close to perfection the only thing missing was a magnifying glass for points of interest in a each room.

This was a most enjoyable game. The story line was logical. The scenes were well designed, with plenty of actions in each. The HOs sometimes had a nice twist, making them fun. Some of the mini puzzles were quite the brain teaser! Good play length, for both the main game and the bonus chapter. Well worth the price, IMHO.

The cut scenes move around too much and there is a lot of shaking from earthquakes or whatever.

Ever since you updated the game it takes five minutes to download!

Im stuck in a locked room and we cant pass the puzzle. A little better hints would be nice. We have to end the game as we cant proceed.

It would be a very great game if you could play more than 1 scene without paying for the next scene. We would love to pay more before we decided if it was worth paying for.

So, we pay $6.99 for this game because we enjoy the trial. And Im playing and having a good time UNTIL we get to the part where the mad scientist explains that he was forced to dispose of John and hold his pregnant wife captive because they wouldn’t go along with his plan for human testing. From that point on, every single mini-game we encounter gives us the John/Brenda search task (you know, identify 3 items that represent captivity, etc). So Im playing the games blind, as it were, and theyre not always intuitive. Thus, the cause of our unhappiness, and the reason we wont be forking over $6.99 to these developers again any time soon.

We downloaded but we can’t even play it. Every time we open it , it crashes.

Too expensive for such a bad game, boring.

Soon after we finished the trial and paid for it, we came across a puzzle that we could not find a solutions with no hints and could not be skipped, so we could not go any further. We wish we could have our 6.99 back. We are very disappointed in the quality of the HOP and mystery games since Apple has taken over from Big Fish. The Apple games are much poorer quality than before. When that happened, we lost most of the games we already purchased.

Try to do several code combinations in the strange cave nothing works.

UPDATE: August 18th: Just released is Nevertales 8: The Abomination. Please welcome Mad Head back into the world of iOS gaming! This developer is noted for wild, quirky and out-of-the-box gameplay and has been sorely missed! Note to all gamers: this is a spoiler alert but its a necessary one! When you experiment on the tiny little mouse, it morphs into a huge and hideous rat which will jump out at you. If you are nervous about this, close your eyes for a second and it will soon be over. That being said, this third installment was every bit as great as the second one. You could customize your settings, and there was an excellent teleport map. Teleportation was instantaneous between locations. The storyline was enthralling, because it dealt with psychological experimentation and mind control, and thus was extremely novel. Collectibles included morphing puzzle pieces and statuettes. The graphics were clear and crisp. This was a very lengthy game, inclusive of the bonus adventure. The HO scenes werent extremely innovative, but at least they werent overly numerous. Many were word lists but there was some variation, and those were interesting. This game contained a large number of puzzles and mini-games, and if you love to do experiments, and create elixirs and crack codes, this will please you, as much as it did us! The overall tasks were enjoyable to accomplish and there was a plethora of them at each location. Some of the inventory usage was quite innovative. Certain locations had sliding zoom zones, which are always another factor which makes a game more unique. In addition, you could manipulate some of the inventory items in different manners and Im not going to give anything else away. We’ve told you plenty as it is! Our only gripe was that this game did have some quality assurance issues. It was difficult at times to apply inventory items and have them work on the first go-round, as well as acquire them too. Once we tried again, they worked. However, it seems that Artifex Mundi and Brave Giant are aware of the issues and have given us an in-game update. We do deduct stars for glitches, and thus our true rating will be 4.5 stars. This was a fabulous game and we didnt want to finish it! This game was a must-play, and we hope eventually there are more installments on the horizon. UPDATE: Dark Romance: Ashville was held up on the App Store due to technical issue, in other words, terrible quality assurance! Domini thinks it will be released this upcoming Monday, July 27th. Happy gaming and stay safe, players! UPDATE: Today (July 24) Friendly Fox released Bridge to Another World:Glass. This is a blockbuster series. Just wanted to bring some joy to those of you who are depressed by the pandemic.

Trying to open the capsule where the pyramid is but we’ve done every combination that we could think of and cant seem to figure this out. Please help.

We cant even open the game without it going to the home screen on our phone. Could the developers please fix this with an update or something?

Was enjoying the game until we got to the pyramid puzzle and tried everything we can think of to solve it with no luck and no way to skip. Not sure if Im missing something or there is a bug.

We liked this game. Now we’ll get the previous 2. We like that it has a good storylinemmakes you think, but not too difficult. It was relaxing and not frustrating.

We love mystery/murder/cold cases. We also love when they have twists. This game manages to have all of that. The graphics are amazing, and it’s very interactive. It doesn’t drag anything out, and has amazing voice overs. We’ve never played a gme quite like this at all, we love it. They have mini-games, but they aren’t the Candy Crush rip offs. They are detective work, exploring docutments, looking for clues, and trying to find differeces. They also come with an alternate mini-game in case you don’t want to play the main one. There are no repeats, we genuinely enjoy this game.

This game is AMAZING! The storyline is so facisnating! (i spelt that wrong)

All three of the giant games are outstanding with one exception. If you can’t figure out a puzzle and skip it often it will not show you the completed puzzle.

We really enjoyed playing this game. Would recommand this to anyone.

We don’t know how to remove our last review, but we did get a version to load. It’s a fun and challenging game. We’re enjoying it immensely!

We bought 3 gmes none of them worth a crap ! We stubbled across this one and we have not been able to put our computer down yet. Everything is fantastic. The sound quality is great, the mentl stimulation, the story line, the hints help but still make you think. This games tests your memory, it makes you think ! It is creative and very realistic. Very challenging. We were thinking while playing we even think engineers would find this game a challenge. We want more more !!!! Can wait to start the next episode. Don’t even thin twice buy it well worth it !

This is the best AMundi game we have played so far. Some HO games but mostly puzzles, we love puzzles.

So far ths game is pretty entertaining. We just need to pay attention to a few images in order to keep going.

We love this game so much already and we just downloaded it. We definitely recommend getting the game. It really cool, nice, and mysterious.

Not bad at all. Pretty good storyline, actions consistent with storyline. Good graphics, good puzzles not too difficult. Rarely needed to use hints. Does not use many HOS, something we dislike in games of this type. Our only complaint, and true of all games of this nature we’ve bought, is that protagonist almost always discards any tool he/she acquired after using it once, and needs to find another one if a similar type tool is needed again. Who uses a flashlight once and throws it away? Who uses a screwdriver once and discards it? And on and on : )

Best graphics, great hints if you need them. Quick moving. Just outstanding.

Having a whale of a time so far and we’ve only just begun. But the alternate to Hidden Object, a game calle Moroccan or something–no instructions of any kind that we could find, so we had no idea what we were supposed to do. But after you passed it, you can’t go back unless you start over? Those are always tough and we do like to play them, but couldn’t there be some instruction as to what is the goal at least?

We love it we do but im not 100% sure but we were at the sceen that when we walked into the building someone had a gun pointed to there head then after that its showd the screen to by more games. Then we clickd the x and it took us to the beging home screen. We cantt buy any games even when Chritmas is around the corner so ya we just gust hope that the next part we do not have to buy but over all we love it.

It was a good game wih lots of goo puzels but very short, it was over before we felt we even got started. The bonus game was a tad longer. Was Disapointed overall in the short length of the game but the price for such a short game!

Good until the cave. Stuck on the code, won’t even take input. Frustratating.

Fun great game that has a bug that causes it to stop working shortly after you pay to access the additional levels. Extremely disappointed!

Full disclosure. We did not buy the full game because we don’t want to see or hear about animals being experimented on even if it is a game. It is disturbing.

We were playing the intro game with our 4 kiddos. As soon as it said unlock, we paid the 6.99 for us to continue. Well, the game will not let us continue playing becasue it says we have not purchased it but our email confirms that we have. What do we do? We were really enjoying this game.

We could get lost in this one. So immersive and keeps you thinking. We usually skip puzzles, but we find that with this game, we want to stick with it and solve it. Please keep these coming!

What a great game. Had us glue to our computer for a few hours and will have to finish it when we have more time. Another winner.

If you dont like rats, beware! Other than that, this is a technically sound (no glitches) game with a good amount of game play. It had varied puzzle types, and a decent amount of HOGs, but for some reason the story line just did not interest us. We couldnt get into this game. This is our personal opinion and should not reflect on the overall quality of the game. That being said, we will rate it a solid four stars.

Installed game and it wont open, been trying for 2 days. We gave up.
