The enemy is known only as the Acolytes.

Community Insight:
Nemissa the demon from soul hackers Nintendo 3ds game.
We really wish the developers would just add the version of Satan from Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse and Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance.
Game is pretty good but ima wait til they drop a collab event, til then Im not playing anymore.
We love the demon hunter anime game.
This game is now dropping mc from smt mainline series its only a matter of time till the end of service hits.
When will romance be a feature? Will this and Persona Phantom X have a collab where we can get Persona characters on here.
If you genuinely like being treated like a 3rd class citizen, feel free to install SMT: Dx2. You could grind your life away for currency to get your face spat on. Not whale friendly and the game feels like it constantly hates you. It's very PvP oriented which is very convoluted and frustrating for its players. Horrible and painful powercreep and absolutely not F2P friendly. Expect spending at least $100-200 to get one copy of what you want.
We have played the persona games and then we heard that they were a parody of shin megami tensei but those games cost money while this one does not and the game all in all is quite fun with the battle system along with the story.
This game is THE perfect mobile game. We bought an iPhone 12 for mobile games and this one has the coolest environments and skill animations.
Please add more demons do be fused.
Ive been playing for a few years, we used to get a good 5 rank demon somewhat consistently. For the past year maybe more we have got nothing but the bottom of the barrel and decided this isnt worth anyones time or money. The new demons look haphazardly thrown together and usually break the meta or just arent worth even looking at. Used to be an OK game now is pretty bad and predatory with microtransactions. Play SMT V and avoid this slop.
Ive loved this series since we were 8 years old, so our opinion may be biased. Like the rest of the series, this game is extremely fun and addictive to play. Its fast paced JRPG combat with highly customizable team building and monster collecting elements. The story reminds us of a mix of the Devil Summoner series, Devil Survivor, and mainline Shin Megami Tensei series rolled into one. The characters are fun and OST is full of bangers, as usual. The ability to battle other players and their teams is nice, since it hasnt been seen since the MMO. We also love that this game brings back a lot of demons that havent been featured in the series for YEARS, with some even getting their first 3D model in this game. We will say that we do wish that the summon rates were better for 5 star demons, especially newly added ones and ones featured during events and crossovers, but otherwise we absolutely love this game and we hope it continues to get updates and new features and improvements in foreseeable future.
Good shin megami strategy game but goood grieeeeeeeeef there are endless tutorial pop ups.
Dx2 is a true Shin Megami Tensei game – at least until they became greedy. We dont mind paying real $ for some things, but they JUST added a paywall to some rewards that had been all-player rewards. They got rid of ECLIPSE – a cute idea using 2 categories of demons for battle at a increasingly challenging scale. Its gone now & those rewards are locked behind a paywall. The plot is engaging, NPCs are distinct & demons used are from the SMT pantheon – with some media tie-ins. It is infuriating that player demons are limited to level 50, but enemy demons keep scaling up & UP & to insane levels – like 90+ – & probably higher. We have some nice demons, but cant afford to BUY the most expensive ones. $80 for one demon is stupidly expensive. We wish Dx2 hadnt gotten so greedy.
This game is simply amazing! Great graphics story characters definitely worth downloading.
If you like Shin Megami games, then youll probably like this mobile one too. Its worth a play. Lots of mechanics, so its confusing at first. Stick with it and itll make more sense as you go. Good luck.
Our glorious goat metatron is so incredibly beautiful.
We love it. Its takes some money but if you have it to spare its probably the best mobile like gane out here. Especially if you are a SMT to begin with.
Dx2 has 3RD models of MANY demons compared to the console branch of SMT. Sure its a gacha mobile game but the campaign story is very interesting – plus you dont have to pay for anything unless you want to become competitive in pvp. SMT fans who are not playing Dx2 are missing out.
The character design in dx2 is lovely! Please send us some luck and a Demeter <333.
This game is really good and stays true to shin megami tensei! The fact that it takes demons that only had 2d sprites and gives them (mostly) high quality 3d models is awesome! We guess the only minor inconvenience we have is thats its a gacha game, however the demon fusion mechanic makes this a non-issue.
We need a last frost to replace our helper frost is this possable.
Great game, really is and its nice to f2p players but we found a bug when we fused for a common spinx we lost our herald Micheal.
Heavy pvp focused and strong power creep. Exactly fun but be conscious of whats worth investing into and we strongly recommend joining the discord to stay informed.
Having being familiar with the megaten series, this game was a nice little addition to the franchise, and is a good distraction till Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance drops. It still has its classic themes and tropes of the occult, apocalyptic, philosophical and even minimalistic aspects that makes the series stand out from other JRPGs, and we love that for these games, theyre not afraid to tackle heavy stuff, and the gameplay is pretty solid too, plenty of demons from all SMT games and even collaborations are there in their full 3D glory. Overall SMT Dx2 is a very solid mobile JRPG that we have been playing since its release, 9.6/10.
If you are a fan of SMT this is a great game with a significant amount of demon options.
Please dont ever never never never ever shut this game down never so freaking goooood 10out of 10.
We played this game for about 3 weeks. In that time, we realized this game had a boring, no-stakes story that made no attempts to establish any characters or, god forbid, develop them. The combat is fine, but you will probably be disappointed if you come looking for mainline SMT gameplay.
We're into mythology so when someone puts mythology Into a game we're playing it we also love the other shin megami games.
We played shin megami tenses way back like 25 years ago, but we remember it having a much darker tone that we liked more. Recently, we beat soul hackers 2 and it totally sucked us back into the series, downloading smt 3 on steam right now, and cant wait. Still have barely touched the persona series but we are looking forward to it. We love long games. This game seems like it has a lot of potential and good strategy. Theres soooo much to learn though it seems, which is cool, just hoping we dont get too confused.
Uh somethings wrong we cant transfer our data we dont know why please help.
We really do like this game, it is beautiful for a phone game, there is always something to do, but we will say the gacha is ROUGH! Unless you are saving up for pity, which is alot in itself (usually need 300 tomes and you get 10 per 1000 gems, do that math), you can find yourself being severely Fed over. And PVP is almost unplayable if you dont have meta units, it wouldnt be so bad if there wasnt beginner mission that encourage you to get higher tiers in PVP. We play a lot of gachas and this is one of the better ones, but it can still be very very frustrating at times.
Been playing for a bit and still enjoying collecting the demons and angels from the SMT games.
Just upgraded our phone to the 15, so of course Ive been back to playing mobile games a lot more recently. This is by far one of the most enjoyable gotcha games out. If youre a fan of Persona/SMT you will be right at home (or should we say hideout). The only downside is the constant crashing when using AR. The AR mode is so cool and unique, but every time Im scanning and then summon, POOF! It freezes and crashes.
We found the game to be pretty good however the fusion mechanic is pretty mediocre like you need a common demon in order to fuse it to get the demon you want & we wish it was made easier.
There are a few bugs that some parts unplayable Im not able to play the demonite mines it always freezes after the second shield break.
As a fan of SMT and Persona, this really scratches that itch for us. So many demons from across the whole franchise makes for some really interesting team building. There is so much content here: a lengthy pve, pvp, events, team building, etcI really enjoy the demon building part of this game as well. There is so much that goes into making the perfect demon which makes it very satisfying when youre done building them. Our only gripe with this game is the gacha mechanic and everything tied to it, we.e gems. Gems are required to roll for demons which is going to be your bread and butter for acquiring the best demons the game has to offer. Sure they have the demon negotiating from the mainline games, but you only ever get 1-3 star demons this way. You can get Gems from the story but after youve completed it, gems become a pretty rare resource. This wouldnt be that bad of a problem if not for how egregiously over priced the gems are. On top of all this, the drop rates for the banner demons(event demons) are so low. We understand needing to monetize some part of your free to play game, but its actually crazy to think you can spend all this money and still not get what you want especially because the unforgiving pity system.
Having played many SMT / Persona games and many mobile RPGs this is the best mobile RPG Ive played yet! The gameplay is condensed so that you can enjoy fun strategy / demon negotiations / dungeon crawling on a bite sized format. This is really like having a condensed smt mainline game and you dont have to spend any money to have a sick party to battle with. The story is actually pretty good and the writing can be hilarious. The game modes are diverse and you get a bunch of different elements from various SMT games as well as new ones- dungeon crawling, roguelike mode, battling with your avatar, etc. If we could criticize one thing we think the game is a bit menu heavy because there is so much going on with customization, upgrades, enhancements etc its kind of overwhelming. Youll never be bored playing this game! Theres so much content we cant believe that you can actually play through most of it F2P.
Im on the start of chapter 2 and Griffith is 6 stars and sweeping yipee.
Awesome game, super fun. You can get away without paying for anything super easily. Our only complaint is theres no mute option. We wanna listen to music while we auto-play but theres no way to mute the app.
Game itself is very solid, however we had our save file from the first day deleted and we dont think we will ever have the urge to play again because of it lol.
Would have given 5/5 if they didnt remove the original soundtrack! Dx2 is one of those battle games where we have yet to spend a dime on. Sure, they have packages you can get for real money, but it isnt necessary. Stop in during events, and youll get so many items and demons. Lots of things to do for items and gear as well. Im not a fan of the alternate universe section of Dx2, so we dont touch it anymore. But lots of variety and things to do never leaves us bored v.
Love the game and everything but it randomly charges your card and doesnt even give you what it charged you for, it bought a bargain pack and we didnt even got the gems, weirder part is that, that specific pack can only be bought once so idk how we bought it twice.
The game does have a good story, and you can progress through the story at a decent pace with just 4 five star demons. So why do we give it only 3 stars? First, PVP modes are a mess, you frequently run into teams at low ranks that shouldnt be there, either because the account was abandoned or by intentional rank dropping to troll new folks. This could be mitigated by adjusting the match up system to go off of demon strength and current rank, or giving us more free opponent refreshes per day. Either would help tremendously. The other problem is the price they expect you to pay for gems. Now, you can earn a lot of free gems, which is great, but eventually your only source of free gems will be PVP and log in rewards. Now, we know the company needs to make money, but $80 US currency for the equivalent of 60 random pulls is steep. Theres not even any special paid gem only draws to entice you, the gems all spend in the same banners. Overall, we recommend playing only if youre a patient sort of person or have large amounts of cash to spend.
Over 200 pulls, not a single event 5-star demon.
Also its just SMT, but on phones. Same extremely good quality as usual. Our only gripe is that the gacha elements feel like you never get 5 or even 4 star demons during events. Im waiting for the Demi-Fiend and Nahobino to be added in a story event like the SMT4: Apocalypse DLC.
There is about a years worth of play here without spending any money. If you want to make in game currency to use on banner demons, to be able to keep up in pvp, be prepared to pay for it. We got it mostly to get our favorite demons from SMT nocturne, but got sucked into pvp.
MST and Persona are our favorite series of JRPGs. We enjey Dx2 very much.
TLDR: It's a Shin Megami Tensei game. It's fun. Boo micro transactions that aren't even necessary to play the game we just don't like them. We are absolutely biased about this game because it's a Shin Megami Tensei game. We remember preordering this game and waking up to it downloaded on our phone one morning and we were sooo excited. We were a little worried about it being a mobile game and knowing some mobile games from franchises that make console/pc games are absolute trash and to not live up to the original games, however we were so pleasantly wrong. This is, of course, still a mobile game with micro transactions and stuff but overall it's basically just a Shin Megami Tensei game that's on your phone. They even have a cool story about why you're using your phone and stuff. Anyway, onto why it's 4/5 stars instead of 5/5. Two reasons and they both dock half a point off. #1: it's a mobile game with micro transactions. Now it's not really a pay-to-win game but it can feel like it during events. Also, we just don't like micro transactions. So -.5stars #2: The scanner. The scanner is really cool and really fun. You scan everyday objects (eyes, shoes, carrots, wires, cats, other stuff) and summon a demon to talk to and increase your bond with. It's a really cool idea and really fun to do. However the scanner sometimes doesn't work. We'll obviously have a ball scanned and it'll say scan failed. We'll obviously have an eye scanned and it'll say scan failed. We'll obviously have polkadots scanned and it'll say scan failed. Now sometimes we just have to scan it again and it'll work perfectly but other times it just straight up doesn't work. One thing you can scan is a shoreline and for that we're easily able to scan an image from Google Images so yay us because we're not near a beach. But we can't do that with polkadots. Real polkadot shirts? Scan failed. Image of polkadots on our computer? Scan failed. It's so annoying sometimes! It mostly works and is overall really fun but sometimes just… Gah! -.5stars It's not a big deal. It's not game breaking. You could even play the game without using the scanner.
We think this year 4-5 we stay playing everyday plus the good collaborations with Berserk, Sonic, ghost in the shell really waiting for Kof collab.
