Community Insight:
We like the game the graphics are great the only problem was the text was not up there long enough to read and then you got kind of lost on the story.
Unable to complete bonus game due to a glitch that wont allow us to finish the find & use HOP for the herbicide.
This one was our favorite out of the four. Nice length and content! Loved it.
Artifex Mundi does a good job in there games, we are obsessed.
Purchased after the fix. Did not experience any glitches. Game kept us entertained.
UPDATE REVIEW: The game update did absolutely nothing to fix the problem! Im guessing theyre going to say we need to delete the game and reload, start over completely in order to overcome the glitch but thats just not a satisfying answer. We just played the entire game and dont want to play it again! We dont even know if theres a bonus chapter included as the last several A,M. Games did not have one and that would be the only reason Id spend our valuable time replaying this game immediately after we just played it. Not many puzzles, a ton of ho scenes and we prefer more puzzles. Still a decent game but the glitch at the very end just kills it! Im still frozen! If anybody can confirm theres a bonus chapter to this game Id appreciate it. All the way to the end when the peacekeeper picks of the staff to defeat the bad guy and save the princess and it gets stuck! Cant do anything! Otherwise would have been a 5! No option for walkthrough or support that we could find on the game. Why? Makes us really mad when this happens and Im right at the end! Not the norm for A.M. Games! Help.
Thank you to the reviewers who kindly informed us of the fatal laws they encountered, thus preventing them from finishing this game. We had only played a few scenes into the game when we read the informative reviews, and hence we were able to avoid becoming stuck due to our deleting and reinstalling the game after the update. Therefore, we were able to play it all the way through with no glitches. Since we're an avid middle-earth "groupie," who has repeatedly hunkered down in front of the TV, catching consecutive re-runs of the LOTR and The Hobbit trilogies, we must attest that we are in love with the theme of this game. This successful production is another example of this developer's adeptness in creating games that implement stimulating storylines, dazzling artwork, and entertaining gameplay. The storyline presents a magical world in which the respective races that inhabit this world have their own territories and are distinct from one another. The appearances and personalities of the characters from the Elves, to "Gandalf's long-lost twin," likewise adorned with long flowing hair and a sweeping gray beard mirror the beloved middle-earth characters in the movies. Who else is cheering for the gorgeous Elves, even though they shunned their otherworldly grace? We like the switch of playing the Protagonist from a male's perspective. The graphics are uncharacteristically blurry at times, lacking the finely rendered sophistication that we normally see within some of the other titles under this developer. The concepts of certain objectives evoke a medieval/middle-earth ambiance, as we create objects in a blacksmith's shop, prepare potions to heal people, and concoct spells using a Spell book. The HOSs comprise a pleasing medley of formats, some containing interactive elements. Their types frequently alter as we progress, thus preventing monotonous gameplay. In our opinion, the puzzles need higher degrees of difficulty; however, they are cleverly executed to suit the objectives. Some will test your dexterity skills, such as climbing mountains with related equipment. The collectibles are very conspicuously placed; no challenge here. The explorational aspect is both vast and sufficient, with a multitude of locations to visit and tasks to effectuate. We're pleased that this game includes a bonus chapter to increase the overall playtime, and hence the justification of the hefty price tag. We would have rated this game 5 stars if it were more challenging. Therefore, our final rating stands at 4 stars.
Note to Catalina: thank you so much for the valuable information regarding the release of the sequel to Legacy. We know how many of us are excited about it. UPDATE: It seems like this site is monitored by either Artifex Mundi or the game developer, Brave Giant. As soon as the first reviews came in and a fatal flaw was reported, the game was immediately updated and the issue has been resolved. On to the review. Although we were given many bells and whistles, and fantasy is our favorite genre, we felt there was a certain je ne sais quoi in this game that left us unsatified. You could customize settings. A cohesive journal was not included but objectives were regularly updated. We understood the basic storyline but felt we didnt grasp the underlying nuances, even after completing the magic books (so a journal would have helped). The quality of the graphics was terrific, and the cut-scenes were well-executed. There was a marked teleport map to transport you instantaneously between locations. Collectibles were either coins or decorative eggs. There were many locations to unlock but not a whole plethora of tasks at each, and the game was mainly linear. The HO scenes had some variety, but we found them a bit boring. There was an alternate Monaco card pairing game if you wanted to skip certain HO scenes. The puzzles/games were extremely simplistic and repetitive; we would have preferred a larger variety and some more unusual puzzles where brain power was required. We did enjoy the ones which were a bit different, such as mapping coordinates, a labyrinth, and creating an elixir. The gimmick in this game was your spell book, but it took a backseat and there were very few spells to actually create. Considering that this game was pricey, $5.99 on sale, it should have been longer. There were touch screen sensitivity issues, even after it had been updated. We had to apply inventory tools two or three times for them to work several times during the game. You could surmise that English was not the first language of the developer, as grammar, syntax and even spelling were all a bit off at times. In addition, we felt the game was a bit dull and extremely simplistic. It was a charming little game but seemed more geared towards children. We normally love the games we get from Brave Giant but this one didnt wow us. It was an average game. Our true rating is 3.5 stars, and we feel thats on the generous side. We actually rounded up from 3 stars because the developer was quick to issue an update and fix the game. Happy gaming to all! How many games this week? Will we get 2 from BigFish and the Five BN game? Wouldnt that all be nice? We wont count on any of it, but we will wish for a Domini or Mad Head game! Well the first game of the week is another game in the Whispered Secrets series. That is Grandma Studios and we loved the first one. This developer gives you length and much to accomplish at each location, as well as beautiful graphics. So we are starting the week off on a good note, hopefully.
UPDATE #2: even after update, the game is still stuck for us. We are unwilling to uninstall and start from the beginning again to see if this is remedied. Poor quality control before releasing. UPDATE: we tried deleting and replaying the game, but the issue remained. We have contacted both the developer and the iTunes Store requesting a refund. After paying for this game, all was going well until the end of the main story. The game became unresponsive after assembling the staff, and nothing we did could resolve the issue. This game was expensive in comparison to others, and we would expect to be able to finish it and access the bonus. Unfortunately we will give this one a one star.
Problem with an expensive game – not a happy camper. For the amount of money and time that we wait to receive a game and now this? KdBoots (minus this star) Hopefully, this gets fixed soon! This is unusual for this kind of thing to happen with this company. *** Fellow Gamers: In the meantime since Big Fish is continually shorting us IPad games per/week and is not listening to our requests for more games – we found a game called Adera in which the 1st episode is free. We believe there are 3 or 4 other episodes to purchase separately. We have played the first free one and liked it so much that we purchased the 2nd episode for 3.99. This game is totally intriguing and different. It has some hidden object scenes which are word lists, character voiceovers, no map though, puzzles etc. It is quite an adventure with gorgeous graphics and a rotational screen. You find useful items on your mysterious journey in search of your lost grandfather. Highly recommend that you give it a try – can be quite challenging, but that is half the fun! Just wanted to share this info with you and hope that some of you find it as enjoyable as we have! We definitely are in need of more games and this one is beautiful, especially if you like searching for useful items to help you on an adventure. Happy Gaming Everyone – we still think that we all need to somehow make our requests known by contacting Big Fish who basically at the present time has the monopoly on the market of games. P.S. We contacted FiveBN and supposedly we are to get Legacy: The Prisoner sometime this week. Actually, we have grown tired of even checking for new releases only to be disappointed . KdBoots.
Agree with the others, cant fix the staff. Please fix this!still stuck trying to put the staff together.
This game is too expensive to not even be able to finish! Hence the 1 star.
