Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

Plays well, has different challenges, and a nice grayscale graphic. We also like the fact that it works with Bluetooth game controllers.

Pure and direct, all the options you could want, done smooth and simple, with focus on gameplay. The multiplayer mode is exactly addictive enough. Try it, for sure. If Limit Frame Rate iOS feature is turned on, you may experience very choppy difficult-play experience.

BEST Tetris-like app out there. No ads, numerous challenges, multiplayer ability., nmeeo bugs. Cant ask for any better.

What else do you need? The controls are a little hard to get used to at first, but with the gesture style, it really is like the old Tetris app that got delisted a while ago, its really fun and we havent tried the multiplayer yet, but with the single player alone, Im very content with this. Thank you to the developer for not forcing ads in the game, it makes it so much more enjoyable.

One of our favorite games currently available on the App Store. Free, no ads, doesnt require an internet connection. It runs smoother than the official Tetris app. Not to mention the custom themes and multiplayer. This is far the best way to play Tetris on iPhone. Our only criticism is that we personally think virtual touchpad should be off by default because it can make gameplay confusing due to its static position.

We wanted a simple old school block game with no frills, no ads, no colors even. Love this game. Instantly addicted although the control took a minute to get used to. Wish we had some Gameboy buttons.

Way better than the official tetris app, doesnt require internet connection, doesnt play ten billion ads, its great. The controls took a bit of getting used to but after messing with the sensitivity and like, less than a day of playing it feels super natural to play. Really glad we found this.

Im a big tetris fan but the original game had so many adds it became unusable. This has been an amazing alternative! Im telling all our friends.

Absolutely amazing. Exactly what we were looking for. Plus themes so you can make it look however you want.

Thank you SO much for this game.

Game is good. Music makes us feel like Im losing our goddamn mind, especially when Im losing. Honestly glad about the music, really heightens the experience.

Great game, easy to learn, looks nice and functions well, great alternative to the official Tetris app, but the polar opposite in terms of ads.

We used to play the original Tetris game at school but the ads and need for internet made us not play it. This game is very fun, we like the customization and Im back at our old speed on Tetris effect. Great game! Im glad to be the 200th review.

Its the game you want, no gimmicks, microtransactions, battle passes, daily streaks; just classic falling block game. Open source themes you can download from the web, controller support, gesture control adjustment settings, it has everything you need to make it play as you expect it to.

We dont usually review. The popup asking us to rate is asked us to. We are so happy that there are no ads for this and its the type of game we actually wanted for once instead of it being like Block Game, where the ads said it was one thing and not another. We like that you can do other challenges too or play the normal game. This is worthy of a first review we give 5 stars.

Its like tetris, but fewer colors, and unlike every other tetris game on the app store, it doesnt have an absurd number of ads.

We use Tetris for a stress reliever but this is the first game that doesnt force us to sit through tons of Ads. Love this simple awesome game.

We went online looking for a Tetris clone that, unlike the official Tetris iPhone app, didnt have any ads, and this was the perfect alternative! We were even able to install a custom texture pack to make the game look more like Tetris.

Great game play. Familiar mechanics and timing. No silliness; just the features you expect. TvOS support would be a great addition! Clearly made by a falling block game connoisseur! Worthy of a donation.

Hands down the best app of its kind, such an obvious work of passion from its developers.

The controller support separates this Tetris game from all other mobile versions Ive seen. Excellent game. Tasteful graphical decisions. Bright blocks, monochromatic, satisfying sound effects, customizable controls. The only thing we would suggest would be to implement a slide before blocks settle. Also seems like you cant do t-spins and other classic moves that require blocks to slide before sticking in place.

No adds, clean and responsive, a variety of modes including the hard to find practice mode where things do not speed up, and complete with leaderboards and everything. This is the best Tetris version we have played on any system.

We love falling light blocks! Very calming, clean design, no ads.

Ive been looking for a decent tetris alternative with button controls for SO LONG. This is exactly what we were looking for. God bless.

Great music and fantastic controller support. Feels authentic. We use the nimbus and it feels like nes Tetris on the go with a music and visual remix that pays appropriate homage. Never used touch controls so no idea how that is but if youre like us and was searching for a proper iPad puzzler look no further especially if you have mfi controller.

Controls are a little iffy sometimes, but we enjoy a lot.

We wanted this game in a mobile version that could use a controller, and the most popular current iteration by other developers is swipe only. This fits the bill and is visually nice to look at too! We're looking forward to trying other modes but for now we're happy just clearing lines. This worked with our Xbox controller and our 8 Bit Do controller too on our iPhone. Different versions of the popular line clearing game have various behaviors, we're still getting used to the no wall kick but it's still fun. We're also happy data collection is minimal for this game.

This is the best way to play Tetris on mobile. The controller support is fantastic. Please keep supporting this.

This is a fantastic iOS version of Tetris for those who like playing Tetris on other consoles/PC, like Puyo Puyo, jstris, NullpoMino, etc. Theres a nice and intuitive gesture control system for casual players, but of course theres a limit to any conceivable gesture system, so more experienced players can connect a controller(or controllers if you have a friend beside you), use on screen key controls, or even set your own keybindings through a keyboard. We use a magic keyboard on our iPad and also have an 8BitPro Sn30 Pro+ controller. Both work with the game perfectly, but any other keyboard or mfi controller should work just as well! Theres customizability in terms of enabling/disabling the ghost piece and setting opacity of gridlines. You can also change the appearance of the game through either downloading colored/patterned themes or customizing your own look from scratch. The only areas of improvement we can think of are adding options to change ARR and DAS for players who are accustomed to very specific values. Otherwise, this is as close as you can get to classic/modern Tetris in the app store. Cant wait to play this on our 8 hour flight next week! Thank so much for creating this.

Add free, controls might be easier if you could see them but over all great.

Its in like other games relaxing not our fave but when Im stressed its always there for us.

Good game, levels get really hard towards the last levels though.

This is a fun game very tetris like. No ads is the best part! Thanks so much! The controls take a while to figure out on an ipad, we hope the instructions can be improved in the future. For example what are all the options that you can you do when the green arrows show up and how long does this functionality last? We find it a challenge to bring the blocks to the edges of the screen. Maybe some hints for that also! Otherwise very fun to play. Im also a new to this game, so figuring out the speed control of block drop to horizontal movement is still a bit confusing.

Hey Ben, we appreciate the level of detail you go through to explain things on the games, and the display is really enjoyable. But there is a bug. Every time we try tapping the structure that has 2 blocks, with 1 block in-between separating 2 blocks going in the opposite direction (alternatively the only other way we can think to describe it is it looks like it could be the letter S without the curves at the end), it will only shift the structure in 2 directions instead of 4. Otherwise, none of the other structures have an issue going 4 directions. Hope you can fix it, cuz we cant really practice to our fullest potential with that limitation. Thanks.

Its a fantastic replica of Tetris and the best Ive found on mobile but the problem is the rotation system, without advanced spins clearing lines have become a bit of a nuisance, where we could normally fit a S or Z piece just isnt an option here. If there were a direct port of Tetriss SRS then itd be even better, thats all though otherwise its a near perfect game, by far the best controlling mechanics on mobile.

We love the simplicity of this version. Other versions are so convoluted with ridiculous graphics and add-ons and ads. Unfortunately the controls are not very responsive, which makes this game a bit difficult to play.

We downloaded this app after getting sick of the EA app and reading all the rave reviews we could hardly contain our excitement. Finally having a controller supported tetris app is awesome. With the base offerings this game has in terms of gameplay its great, but a few points of contention have greatly lowered our satisfaction. The Controls: the touch controls are not great, it is very hard to make quick movements and the gameplay gets nigh impossible at higher speeds nearer to the top of the board. We figured we could put aside these gripes until we got our hands on our xbox remote, which is how we usually play. This was not quite the case. While control mapping was a plus, it seems crazy there is no movement sensitivity bar because the game still seems sluggish to move around. The Content: The different ways to play are awesome and offer a variety of ways to enjoy the game, definitely the highlight. Despite the fun we had playing the missions (yes, even the accelerometer ones) not a whole lot is explained in terms of the scoring, and it seems that arbitrary values are shown on the victory screen but it almost seems like a roll of the dice whether we get 2 or 3 stars. The Gameplay: This is the straw that broke the camels back for us, there are some glaring issues in play that bum us out. The first being again the control optimization and sensitivity. There is also some wild inconsistencies with the blocks while playing. We cant ever seem to get the hang of the lock in timer for the new style games, sometimes it seems instantaneous and others we feel like it should have already dropped as we go to rotate the next piece only to see our placement get messed up. While we can stand this, it seems the game mechanics are off. Something went wrong with the coding of this game and rotating blocks is a mess. In standard gameplay this wont make a difference, but with whatever the new system of rotation is, you can no longer make spins with the L, J, we, or S blocks and they will only sit there until they lock in. The T blocks themselves only allow for basic T spins meaning its impossible to accomplish a T-spin triple. Bugs and such: we havent encountered any bugs or glitches at all, but it seems that enabling either the gray block gradience or ghost piece considerably slow down the app for some reason we dont even know if youre still working on this game, but we havent seen anyone else talk about this so we may be in solidarity here. Please tell us if im wrong about any of the statements listed above Thanks.

Fun relaxing game. But mission 15 is awful.

We were excited to find this, but we cannot get the hang of the controls on our phone. We dont understand the touch controls that come up when we touch the screen. Its nearly impossible to move pieces left to right and choose where they land. So frustrating and definitely not relaxing.

Swipe left to move left? Maybe. Or it might rotate! We found the gesture sensing to be awkward and finicky. If it simply moved left or right in proportion to how far your finger moves, that would be great. But instead a quick left flick moves it one step, but leave your finger on for longer and it goes flying over to the far edge. Or, if you move at the slightest slant, it gives you rotation. We give up.

Seems like some odd but very consistent lag bug is in the current version, running on top-end modern software-updated Pro iPhone version, but no piece-move-lag issue (totally smooth gameplay) when run on a six year old discontinued iPhone. Once fixed, our original review goes back: we understand we cant mention the brand name of the game, but it doesnt matter, because this is pure and direct and customizable in exactly the right ways – better than the original gangstris.

This is even better with the skins. It was a 4 star without the skins but now in some ways surpass the original with the templates available on Discords harddrop #files area. Make it look like classic, 99, effects, etc. Thank you.

Well the controls are ok but you can never place anything where you want it and spin does not always work but its the best Tetris clone out there we came to this because the official Tetris is all buy passes gold and in app purchases.

Give the user the option to skip your instructions. We almost deleted the app midway because it took so many taps just to start the game. Once the game started we deleted the app because we didnt like the UI or gaming experience. We miss EAs Tetris.

Simple UI, short intro, and we can hop right into marathon. The controller support is also absolutely critical so thank god they have it in there.

This game is true to the original games and convenient to play. The skin option allows customization. Overall great app.

Im willing to adapt to this game mechanic if it means avoiding these cancerous advertisements in App Store games. Thank you for making it free with no ads.

Runs very well and has controller support that is easy to configure. This is by far the best Tetris fork on the app store.

We dont review apps often, but this app is perfect for a tetris experience on mobile! Game pad support, modern and classic gamemodes, a leaderboard; its really good! 1 thing we wish it had was a more conventional multiplayer like Jstris or tetris friends back when it was a thing. Apart from that, its really good.

Just got it and love it no ads or micro transactions if we continue playing a lot will donate but really good and we recommend it we also love how you can download themes and creat your own.
