GAMEPLAY
Just like golf, the aim of Play Nine is to take as few strokes as possible. Limit your strokes by matching pairs and scoring a Hole-In-One. The player with the lowest score after 9 holes wins!
Each player receives eight cards, with a discard pile and draw pile in the center. Players flip two cards face up to start. Moving clockwise, players can draw from the deck or discard pile and replace one of their cards. They can also flip a facedown card if they don't want the drawn card. The goal is to match vertical pairs to reduce strokes. The player with the lowest score wins the hole.

Ever since the update the game has been freezing and wont let you continue the game. Ive lost two hands in a tournament because of it. Thats our reason for 3 stars.. If fixed its easily a 4 1/2 star game. A friend list and also a way to get back into a game if disconnected would def. Make it a 5 star app.
Why do developers insist on cramming ads into their game at every possible moment? After every single level finish? Really? Make them useful and people will watch. Instead we just deleted your game and now you will get zero revenue from us.
When we reach closed to 40,000 in coins, it resets us back to 36,000.

Not happy we were updated to a new version 5.1 that we do not want and did not request. We paid for a one year subscription to PLAY NINE cards.switch ours back or refund our money. We are not supposed to get any ads.
Ive been playing less than 24 hours and so far its been great. Ive read other reviews and we dont agree at all. We havent paid anything and Im winning more than half our games. The ads are a little annoying but we understand yall gotta get paid. And you can click out of the ads after just a few seconds. No need to watch the whole thing. Would recommend.
We love the game. Its great to play. However, since the update the game not only freezes the game but our phone as well. We have to force close our iPhone and log back in. Thought maybe its our phone but it has happened many times now while playing. Makes us want to delete the game. :( we also paid for ad free.
Ive played this game for a long time now, and have been a paying customer for a year or so. Id ask that you redesign how to find a game. Having to sit in the VIP room hoping someone will come in while being unable to see if there are matches available elsewhere is a terrible design. If the main screen could show how many players are in each room looking for a game, it would be far easier to spot a possible VIP match or high stakes game without having to park yourself there and pray someone finds you. Please also reinstate the auto play option. There needs to be a way to step away for a minute to pour a cup of coffee without penalizing everyone else in the room. Or even to drop out of a game. Even if this means that its possible for someone to win that isnt playing any longer, its better than waiting 30 secs each time the game rolls around to that player.
So were just not gonna talk about the fact that the game doesnt giving the multiple match bonuses?? Cant see the score mid game without clicking a button. No rematch option. Game is likely rigged like most Apple apps.
The bots are super dumb so playing them is not fun and just a confidence booster and playing your friends is the only fun thing to do. Next the multiplayer game mode needs to have a pause button because most of the time we can't finish our games because someone has to do something that takes more than 20 seconds. Finally, It's ridiculous that we need to pay 500 coins just to join a game. Overall we would not recommend this game.
We played this game first in cards and then was told it was on an app. Im addicted.
Love it but the ads! We play the hard copy of this game with 4-6 people so fun. This is almost too fast with the computer. We still love it. Hate the ads but dont want to spend 9.99 for no ads.
We love the game, but frankly whatever mechanism they use to randomize the cards. We can honestly say after a few hundred games played that its not random at all. More often than not youre going to get screwed. The computer isnt smart enough so you end up in a worse situation no matter what you pick most of the time thats not to say that you cant win. We win about 50% of our games but at the same time when you play enough, youd recognize the patterns that are unbelievably frustrating.
The game itself is fine. The app functions fine typically. We dont really understand the new story type game mode. Theres been no explanation of it. Our main issue with the game is the fact that the autoplay function doesnt prevent people from continuously wasting the clock to be annoying. They should make it automatically keep autoplay for the rest of the game or round if a player has it turned on due to using all 20 seconds more than three times. Im sick of games that should take a couple of minutes take more than 10 minutes.
What a great unassuming game!! You can tell the creators have put some real heart and ingenuity into this game. We like that it isnt full of lots of gimmicky glitz and glam like other game apps. We dont want to feel like Im at the addicting Vegas slots, we want to feel like Im with our family playing a quaint card gameand this game is just that!! Way to go all!! THANK YOU!!! Definitely buying the physical cards version.

When you play solo quick four holes you really learn how to play Iits fast its fun. Its fantastic.

Deleted the game after a few weeks. Playing solo games are very predictable.
We love playing this game but there is definitely some suspicious luck for some. Whenever its the last card they will get -5 and when they draw its always the card they need. We played one round and they ended up with -75, there is no way possible in a real game for that to happen. It starts to get disheartening and we lose interest.

Fun game, but Tournament play is suspiciously unbalanced in favor of opponents. We win 85% of the time on Solo play (our strategy is sound), but opponents win 85% of the time in Tournament play due to ridiculously fortunate card draws. Latest game, our opponent got 4 -5s and 4 matching cards. Come on now. Thats stupid.

The game plays like the real game but has questionable favoritism Alain's single players. LOTS of long ads, takes forever to play a game because of all the ads.
We really enjoyed this game but within 24 hours we were bombarded with adds. Would love to see this changed.
The card game itself is so fun. However, this app is clearly designed for you to lose. Most cards you place will either give the opponent (the computer) what they need to match or a -5. If you decide to flip, its almost always a card 8-12. Tournament play is fine, but any multiplayer match when youre paired with a real person is really just a computer generated player. At first its fun but after the first few games its obvious the developers messed up and designed this in an unrealistic way for you to lose. Seeing others having the same issue is a huge key in how Im not the only one. Reminds us of a carnival game that seems fun but in reality, is designed for you to lose and the game to win.
An ad after every hand is super annoying and the ads are hard to exit from.
The game is true to the card version. However, there are times when it glitches, causing the screen to freeze while your opponent plays on without you and you lose, there are times it freezes when youre done and youve won but it never registers (especially frustrating in tournaments) and times when it just shuts down. But the most frustrating experience is when we switched phones. Our account didnt sync and the 160,000 coins is amassed after HOURS of gameplay just were gone and we couldnt get them back. Then our 10,000 coins for our monthly subscription were added there as well. Customer service refuses to credit us for the 160,000 coins from our other phone, saying its correct according to their records, which shows how poorly this is coded/designed from an audit history perspective. Buyer beware.
Seems like our opponent gets exactly the right card to zero out their score. Computer seems rigged. Thinking about deleting the app.
We LOVE this game. HOWEVER we entered into a tournament and it brought into a game that was already being played. We had to leave considering there were already 2 people in the match and it counted it as a loss. We ended up in 9th place with -42 points and 2 wins because of this. This is the second time this has happened. The cards are rigged most of the time so dont expect to win a lot. As soon as you get a lot of coins you wont win for at least 10 games so dont expect to keep your coins. Definitely some bugs that need to be worked out so you dont keep losing coins due to game glitches.
It works..mostly. But it will often times (on holes 6-9) not give us the option skip in order to keep the round going. It freezes and the only way to get it to move is eventually accept the flip card and end the round.
We love the game. You have made some nice changes. Its real fun as well as the Physical game. HOWEVER.You NEED to remove the DRAMA BOX Ads. Some of them are BORDER LINE PORNOGRAPHIC ! Kids play this game and your showing this FILTH ! We wrote to you a few weeks ago and NO RESPONSE! Now Im FORCED to ELEVATE our complaint! Please keep the game ADS FAMILY FRIENDLY.

The long advertising at the end of each round is frustrating. We understand the need to make money. But let us try a game for a couple of times and then either buy it or continue with the ads.

Love the original physical card game, and this one is great too, but why is there no option to just buy the game for like $5 – $10? We realize app dev costs time and money, but realistically, how often does the game need to be updated? Most likely only to compile for new versions of iOS. Other than that, the core game isnt changing. Id love to just buy it for one price, and be done with all of the ads (and to be able to play others for no additional money or coins) for good! Please consider this. Playing/using this app doesnt need to have this many small details/restrictions about it.
Game is fun and true to the real card game. But the game is notorious for suspicious luck. Your last card will almost always be a 12 when you dont flip it, and a -5 when you do (giving it to your opponent). And whatever you draw early, if you dont take it, a significant amount of the time you will turn over that same card. Also, tournament games count as games played but not towards your wins, so your win % will tank if you just play tournaments.
And Im too cheap to pay five dollars a month to not have ads. We probably will quit playing.
Payouts need to increase. We finished third in a tournament and didnt recoup the fee.

Originally downloaded this game like 2 years ago and it had so many bugs. They said they were fixing them and theyve fixed several, but its crazy how many it still has. The cost to remove ads is the craziest thing Ive ever seen on an app a monthly charge to remove ads? Huh.
We hate how its a kids game but the age limit is 17+ it messes up with our screen time restriction on 17+ games we had it for 3 months and the a couple minutes ago our stepdad invites us to a game and we copy the code and we go to join and the app is gone from our phone and we search it up from our App Store and it says that we cant play it because its 17+.

Overall we love the game however when we are playing with friends the chat often censors what we say when nothing we said was wrong. We could deal with this and just be slightly annoyed except for some reason peoples usernames are not held to the same word standards. Why censor what Im saying and not peoples usernames? Also, when youre playing with friends and not strangers, why is there a need for so much censorship.
