A Glimpse into A.L.E.X.

A.L.E.X. is a fun puzzle game and a great way to train your brain. A.L.E.X. helps you think and plan logically as you program your robot A.L.E.X. with a sequence of commands to get through each level from start to finish.

I named A.L.E.X. after my nephew, and created a game I would want him to play. The lower levels of the games are suitable for children as young as six and the game is enjoyable for adults too!

Its good and Im playing in2019.

Good intro, we had fun with this and so did our son. Note if you want to upgrade to the full version: the in-app purchase doesnt work, but there is a separate app in the App Store you can buy, called A.L.E.X. Pro. Also, the support link in the App Store listing is broken but if you google the developers name you can find his web site, with a Contact page that works.

Fun 15 minutes time waster. For some reason we could not even see how much theupgrade costs. Even if it did show us we would not buy it. 4/5 stars.

We love this game, but the menu for iPhone 6s Plus needs work as its hard to hit the undo button because its off the screen with only a sliver of red to let us know its even there.

We wanted to try the full version but it seems to time out/nothing happens.

We like this game but the "upgrade" to A.L.E.X. Does NOT exist. We checked the game itself and did a Google search. NADA. Very frustrating.

Its a coding game. But ultimately its shortcomings in code itself prevents people from upgrading and spending money. We feel like we should write a Haiku about this. But Cobra Kai just dropped on Netflix and the world is burning. Oh well.

Half the screen on the right and left is cut off. Cant use on our phone until their bug is fixed.

Game has a bunch of promise for getting the little ones to think first. Bad part is the upgrade function seems disabled. We looked more into the developer and found a pro version of this game. Doesnt look like there are many updates past 2 years ago, so any iPhone after that is out of luck with having a compatible version of the game. It needs a zoom function and that might clear some issues.

3 stars until fixed. Fell like they are just scratching the surface. There is a lot of room for improvement and challenges.

"Upgrading" times out. Though we’re not sure how worth it the upgrade would be. Since we don’t know the price, we can’t compare. We spent maybe 5-10 minutes on the 25 free levels and could see myself zipping through the next 35. We might pay 0.99 for the additional levels if they significantly increased playtime. We’re uninstalling, as there’s no replay-ability. It’s not fun the second time around.

This app was featured on the App Store with other app in the Lets Code article. It a cute/fun little game. But the layout doesnt work for the iPhone X. We could not even erase an instruction we programmed by accident. So we are giving it 3 stars until this is corrected.

Great game but it’s blown up too much on iPhone X and the robot literally walks off screen and you can’t see walkway.

Unskippable animations make this game painful to play. Free levels are way too easy. Unclear whether buying new levels would present a challenge or not, so Im not. Any reason you cant leave the tested sequence intact so it can be edited instead of having to rewrite the whole thing?

The app is too large to fit comfortably on our screen. On some levels, the final destination was off-screen and we had to guess where it was. Shame. We were enjoying it.

We want to say that the app was fun and a good puzzle game but we cant. We believe the app is not optimized for iPhone X and up. The buttons are cut off and not shown on the screen so we were not able to play. Fixing the constraint issue would be awesome so the app is usable!

This is a GREAT game BUT it will not allow update required to progress beyond level 25 Great: challenges logical forethought process in ways accessible to a 2 year old but fun for adults too.

It is so hard please fix it please thank you.

It was not updated for iPhone X… :-(

The game was entertaining until we realized we needed an undo button which is not shown because the game doesnt fit on the 8 plus screen. Had it fit we would have played longer and given a better rating.

… Takes longer to decide whether to download, then download, than it does to play. For some reason, we could not win level 25 on the first attempt. The game works. There is nothing wrong with it. It is rather nice. Except that, well, there is no point, once you play it. Perhaps next time we might try it blindfolded?

When we opened the app for the first time the display size was somehow larger than our phone so we couldnt actually click any of the buttons used in the first level.

This game isnt optimized for the iphone x which renders it unplayable because it clips the display.

We cant speak much for other platforms, we own an IPhone XR. The game needs to be updated. Cant see the last 15%-20% of the outside margins. This game was recommended by a colleague, am quite disappointed with it, but we see many great reviews left by other users who were able to use the app properly. We can only say that we might be able to enjoy it if we ever are given the opportunity.

We cant get the robot to go straight because the screen is zoomed in too much that most of the buttons are not visible.

The GUI defaults to a size larger than the phone screen and there is no zoom functionality or way to adjust the graphics. This makes the game unplayable as most of the controls and menu werent even on the screen. :(

Game is permanently zoomed in and you cant access buttons on the left or right.

Impossible to play because the app is to large for the iPhone XS screen.

Its fun when our friend showed us it we said im getting it so we did and its fun to play in the car and everywhere it gets addicting.

This game is fun. You begin at a start point and have to "pre-plan" the robot’s route. Once you plan the route, you hit "run program" which makes the robot "walk out" your plan. If you have ordered the steps correctly he reaches his destination. If you entered the wrong directions. The robot falls into oblivion. We love the "time for a robot dance" that come in once you’ve passed a number of levels. Will definitely upgrade to full version. Love this game.

It’s so boring and not interesting at all, by far the worst game we have ever downloaded, don’t waste your time downloading this game.

One of the best apps we’ve ever had. The user interface is amazing, and all the levels were fantastic. They were challenging, but not extremely challenging. We loved the different robot skins and the dance parties. Our only wish is that you make more levels! We were able to beat the entire game in an hour it was so much fun.

Love all of it you should get it:)

We love it so much we think you should make an A.L.E.X 2.

Great puzzles with increasing difficulty. We just wish there were more levels!

This is a good game. We’re jealous of Alex!!

Easy to learn and fun to play. Starts easy and slowly gets more challenging. We like the animations. It’s cute and our mom can play it too.

This game is so cute yet really gets little minds thinking! Lots of fun for adults also! You get little surprises after reaching certain levels, haven’t upgraded yet but definitely will! Can’t wait to see what new challenges lie ahead! Great game!

We love this game, it’s addicting but there’s only one problem. When we try to upgrade, it doesn’t do anything. Please fix this so we can go on to the next level !!!!
