Great idea but have you looked at making a version for the Infinity Game Table, would be awesome addition to that platform!

A number of times we were thinking of the classic Dark Tower game we had when we were younger. The new version released on Kickstarter appears too complicated and time consuming. We searched the App Store and found exactly what we craved and can play by myself in 15-20 minutes or longer if we choose. Thank you for re-creating this classic game ahead of its time!

We’ve had this app seven years now. We still play. Its still fun! We dont know how many games have come and gone for us. We play a little while, we get bored, we remove the game. If you want to be technical, we’ve been playing since the 80s board game version. The game play is very much like the original. It even has the authentic noises including the sounds of the tower mechanism. We have had two originals stolen. This has been an awesome replacement for a much loved game.

Love the game, but with the last patch, noticing some bugs, such as the Elf not shows correctly of adjacent spaces, such as showing a lost space, but its really a plague, or it shows nothing is there but you get attacked. We also had a sword went to fight the Dragon, but the sword didnt take effect. Also, way too many Troll fights, we literally had 5 Trill battles in a row, and they are extremely powerful. Not sure what happened, but the bugs need fixing.

This game is amazing for anyone who used to play it back in the day… Our question is how do you achieve a higher score?

We always wanted the board game as kid. Not in a million years would we have guessed that 40 years later Id be playing it on a phone.

We cant believe how good this app is. It is absolutely accurate to the original game. Im so impressed. Everything is exactly as we remember it. Fantastic job!

Really great work reproducing a game that leaves a lot of good memories! So glad for the updates as well, really nice.

Hi, only 2 characters show up when picking player piece, even if you have picked 4 people to play. Just tried playing-sorry not a good update, no full screen, move points are off, couldnt leave territory, etc.

We absolutely love the app and was so excited when we found it. We got the board game back in 1981 for Christmas when we were 11 years old and played it often. We updated the app with the 8/25 update. After turning the phone sideways (landscape), pressing start and selecting a kingdom and hero the app shuts down. We have an iPhone X. We’ve tried restarting our phone, deleting and reinstalling the app and its still not working. Hoping this is something that can be corrected quickly. Plan on getting the add ons once the app is fixed.

Loved this game as a kid and so happy to continue playing as an adult. Great quick game and brings back all the emotion of the original. We even paid for the add-one that provide a cool alternative to the original. Great work!

It is so nostalgic, and is just like the actual game. Classic mode is very realistic and can be a fun game with friends, never take down.

When we rotate phone we see no board checked all setting problem isnt on our end.

We had the original Dark Tower game bacjk when it came out. We loved it. Eventually the unit broke down and that was that. Im not sure what made us think of it all these years later but we searched and found this app. We are amazed at the detail and the faithful recreation of the gameplay, from the exact sounds made by the unit to the appearance of the cels, tower, and game board. We are literally reliving a bit of our youth through an app which we would never have dreamed possible. The developer must have loved the game as much as we did, maybe more. Well done.

We’ve been waiting for this for a long time. Great job! After decades of play our tower finally died but now we can play again. All the original sounds are very nostalgic for us. Thanks again ! Ps. For Tower fans, Yes after all this time there will be a Dark Tower II. Its in development on kickstarter (really !)

The game plays fantastically… The add ons for The monsters only work in horizontal mode though. Are they supposed to work in vertical mode? All the rest is there though great game!

Played a lot of DT back in the day. This is a good but not a complete faithful version of the original. Differences: When you return to your home kingdom, you dont not have the option to go to your Citadel and double your warrior strength. Events on the Move key are too rare. 90% of the time it just beeps and the turn is over. Plague, lost, and Dragon rarely if ever come up unlike the original. When you get cursed, it only beeps instead of giving the lost skirmish sound effect. In Original Brigand battles, even if you were fighting a band much larger than yours, you always had a chance to win a skirmish and keep you in the battlemaybe even win. This isnt possible in the app. This detail, combined with the lack of warrior doubling, makes attacking the tower difficult and tedious. As we said, good, but not quite the feeling of the old game.

The original game would give you a score based on how many moves you completed the game in… Any way to make that happen? If you can- we promise to buy all the expansions! They look awesome! That being said- we REALLY LOVE that you brought this game back in our life. Would love to change the review to 5/5 but as of now its a little easy to beat and then we have nothing to try and beat when playing one player.

Couldn’t believe this actually exists on the iPad. The only reason Dark Tower isn’t more well known is because it was only around for a couple years before it got into legal trouble between its manufacturer, and the supposed inventor (who claimed the manufacturer had stolen his idea). The game was pulled from the shelves and nothing more was done with it…. Until now! We dock 1 star because the save feature is only good as long as the app is open. If you close the app, it loses the save. But if you have the time to play a full game in one sitting, or remember not to close the app by reflex, it’s a non-issue. I’d make it a half a star if we could.

Thank you for making this app! We really appreciate the effort put into preserving the original look and sounds of the game! The nostalgia is great – we’ve lost track of how many games we’ve played since we downloaded it!

We felt like we were 8 years old again playing this. Really great job developing the game to keep everything cool about the original and have engaging game play. We look forward to playing more.

Slowly buying the board pieces for the game. Using the phone as the tower. App has been working well. Only issue is that we bought the add on app, but cant find descriptions what they do in the game. Recommend that an info button be included.

So excited to find this. We loved this game as a kid, and often wished we still had it to share with our kids. Hearings the sounds again takes us back many years! Im just starting to explore the app but like what we see.

We dont see the beast for sale at the bazar and where are the keys??? Are these things part of the add ons and how do you get the add ons?

Our dad had this game. We borrowed it and got the tower repaired. Then didnt play it for almost two decades. Our friends brought it up a couple weeks ago. We broke it out and everything still worked. Played a game last weekend. Now we can play on this app without needing to get everything setup. The only we wish you had was a secondary app to replace the score cards for playing the actual game. Our pegs fall out and the keys dont stay on the card when you pick it up to adjust your numbers.

We miss this game. It brings back memories from our childhood. We remember our Dads troops starving as he tried to attack the tower! It may be crazy but we laughed and had a great night! This game gave us great family nights. We even played around with the app even though we have no board. The sounds alone brought back good feelings. Thank you.

We stumbled on this app two years ago and loved that we could play our moms game even without the tower working. We discovered today that we could also play it on our phone without the game pieces! Love it!!!

No game has brought back the feeling of the original more than this one! We love the board, the pieces, the sounds and the gameplay. We purchased both add-ons. Personally we like the friends and helpers at on but not the potions add on. Thats just a matter of taste and they are geared more to online play. We play single player. The only problem we’ve had with the game is we are unable to disable the add-ons when playing a single player game.

This is great! Playing Dark Tower again!

We bought the expansions and they are a brilliant add-on to the game, they make it much more challenging and fun. They are well worth the very affordable IAPs. We loved this game when we were a teen, how awesome to be able to play it on our phone after all these years. Kudos to the developers for porting this so well. On our 6s Plus it ran fine and on our 8 its fine too. We’re sure this was a labor of love (seeing as it’s free), and we’re so glad you did it so we could play a favorite classic game! We hope more people get it so that more online multiplayer opponents will be available to challenge. Highly recommend this game!

App works perfect and takes us back to the days of long ago when we would sit at our dads and play this awesome game!

We have the original board game and it still works but this is great when we’re not home and feel like playing a game.

The app seems quite stable to us we’ve run into no issues the game is pretty much an exact replica of the actual game including all the sounds and the board such as the motor inside the actual tower and the sounds it would make when an action was made and best of all the game now fits in your pocket to go anywhere You go.

We’ve always wished that we still had this boardgame . . . And, if you’re like us, then you should download this right now! The developer is VERY responsive and helpful to questions. Can’t recommend this app enough! Thanks for giving this game back to us!

Tried to play Dark Tower for the first time in 15 years and our tower was broken!! But this app saved the day. Our kids had a great time. An excellent reconstruction of the actual tower. The only bug was it crashed after trying to restore a saved game. When we played straight through it was perfect. Thanks for creating this app!

Sound mute settings don’t work. Constantly crashes. Like impossible to start crashes. Worked once though and it looked really good….

We loved this game as a kid!!! Great idea and it was fixed right away when there was a bug. 5 stars all the way!!! Love this!!

This app crashes immediately upon opening. Too bad, it looked like it might have been a fun trip down memory lane.

We installed the app today and it crashes after opening.

Crashes out immediately upon loading. Previous version worked great.

Loved the game as a kid. All of the sound effects and graphics are awesome.

Thanks for continuing to update .. When we travel we want to play Dark Tower! This app makes this happen ..

Played this as a kid… One of our favorite games. This app is not just a companion… It also has the full game that can be played virtually.

We had totally forgotten about this game. Fun simple gameplay, looks just like the old game our brother and we used to play. Love this!

This app is awesome if your tower isnt working properly. Has all the original sounds and music from the board game. Updates every now and then, making it a reliable app thus far! We dont think you will be disappointed!

We really enjoy this game and our tower has stopped working. This would be useful, but the app kicks us out when we click move.

We got this but when we press move it crashes have og game (tower still works!) love the idea but needs a lot of bug fixes. Fix it and it will be a great app!

Thank you thank you thank you, brilliant work. And free? Amazing.

Much better than risking buying the game on eBay they may not work. Thank you!

The app was fun to play with our brothers who we used to play dark tower with as a kid. We had a lot of fun playing until we encountered several bugs with the game. Since we are of the competitive nature it kind of throws the game one way or another when a bug affects someone either good or bad. The game would be really good if it was continuously updated which we hope it will be. Here is a list of the bugs we noticed in a four player game on level three difficulty: -randomly the game would skip one of our turns. This happened one time for player three and one time for player two. Basically what happened is player one ended his turn and then player to immediately had the -2 showing on the display meaning their turn is over. The exact same thing happened when player three lost his turn. The rest of us used our turns checking our inventories to keep the game fair, but our warriors all still ate food in the process. -we noticed the Pegasus has two glitches with it. First it seems that everyone got a Pegasus after they won their first battle in the silver key territory. That would be crazy odds so we are guessing it must be programmed that way with 100% chance of getting a Pegasus at that time. Second there is no way to let the app know that we used the pegasus. This means that we can only get one Pegasus a game. Our memory says we used to get more than one Pegasus in the original game. -the battle music (which is a nice touch) loops over and over after a battle is lost due to all but the last warrior dying. The music keeps playing until the next battle is over. -retreating from a battle is unclear on how it is triggered and when it takes effect. For example one of the players decided he wanted to retreat then he held down the no/end button, The combat kept going, he lost three more men, THEN the battle ended, and just before he retreated they started winning. We never remember the original game ever doing that. In order to retreat you had to hold down the no/end button and the round of combat would complete, then one more warrior would be lost in the retreat. (Side note: One of our players remembers being able to release the no/end button to cancel the retreat in the original game?) -entering the tomb/ruin with one warrior in the original game gave you a chance of finding a room without brigands and some treasure (which sometimes included the key). One of our players tried at least six times and it almost seemed like the app wasn’t capable of doing this. He entered combat each time and was forced to flee due to only having one warrior. Then the battle music kept playing looped :)
