Hear from the Players – Ashworld Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about Ashworld:

Really cool retro style pixelated post apocalyptic survival/Action RPG action game/platformer! Plays a little bit like a more straightforward/less story (there is little bit of a story with RPG elements) retro city rampage with a post apocalyptic theme! This game does so many things right, but the platforming inside buildings/houses is excruciatingly frustrating! SUGGESTIONS: – MAJOR tweak to platforming inside houses/buildings (make platforms closer together, character jumps higher and easier to control!) – Easier skill assignment (too easy to accidentally use up skill points on wrong skill, maybe an assign skill point button?) – Release on 3DS. Thats it. Thanks!

Some quests are buggy such as buying info for a idol it just points you towards a garage with nothing to do with the idol. Another quest with problems is the motherboard quest where you need to find the portals ,but there impossible to find and you cant buy info for them. But overall progression and missions are great.

We haven’t dug all the way through the game. But, from what we have played there is a lot of potential here. Playing on our phone we can see our health, hunger or text very well. It does work with a mfi controller which is great, but driving has been clunky from our experience. We can see this being a great game with more features and bug fixes. Not to say it isn’t enjoyable now. Keep it up!

Love the idea of this game. A post apocalyptic mobile game? Im in. However the controls need some serious adjustment. At times the game feels unplayable bc the touch screen functionality is so poor. Some dungeons are also impossible to escape from. Look and feel are great it just needs a bit more polish.

Just accidentally got this game, please help refund!!!

Its a great game but what happened to it they just let it die there hasnt been an update in a while.

This game seems like it has the potential to be a great game however we cant even find the backpack icon Like pleas fix that.

The game is very good, just that it is not in Spanish, waiting for an update.

Patch please .. We love this game but we cant continue a mission if the mission items arent appearing to us … Im stuck on the motherboard gathering quest .. And for some reason our dog is gone lol ?? Guys this product deserves a 5 , please do it justice and Ill change our rate to 5 Update . Im pretty sure one person you guys could care less about but we really am about to ask for our money back .. We dont know what you guys did with this update but the game still has many issues .. Yes its the mobile version but don advertise your game heavily to the point its on the front page for a bit and not work on it, gaming companies indie or not are successful because they listen … We actually like this game but Im giving it until the end of the month, if nothing significant changes between now and then Im getting our refund :/ … We bet this game still hasnt been fixed huh wow we wrote this so long ago .. We assume you all still dont care about this game on mobile ?

Please patch this up. Saves are out of control. After resting or going into our house or learning a new skill we leave the game. However, when we resume our play the game picks up at a random spot. Its really frustrating and destroying the gameplay. Please fix it with a patch. Game could be awesome!

This game is awesome but we feel it needs more/ more vehicles more food add more enemies n more locations on the map… Its gotten so easy that we think we’ve finished the game/ its so repetitive at this point.

Awesome concept. Future updates will make this game great.

Mad Max crossed with a true, real time Fallout… In the 32 bit era. We know it sounds like a bit much, but its just right. A fun sandbox world to explore with truly random gameplay. Great characters, sassy one liners, cars, guns, gore, and full controller support. Whats not to love? Bit of a difficulty curve so if youre new to the genre it almost feels rogue like but still saves at certain points. This could easily run for 7.99 and still be worth it with the content you get. Kudos to the dev(s) and heres to further updates and balancing. Slight update, -1* for a decent amount of bugs. They seem to be getting squashed with slow and steady updates (which is an awesome sign) but a perfect score demands a perfect game, right?

The game seems really cool, been enjoying it thus far. But for some reason we can’t reach the topmost left square of the map to reach a red x. It sets us back away from it? What the hell? We can drive and drive towards that direction but it spots us out behind the square. Very frustrating! Also, the game could use more content, enemies, vehicles, landscapes, etc. And please please please add a quest log that can actually be used.

By the reviews others gave it and the rankings in the app store, we thought this game was going to be a lot of fun. It wasn’t. The controls are poorly thought out and the game play isn’t that great. Sure you can do what the game promises, explore the wasteland and either follow the story or not. This game didnt grab our attention. We wish we could get a refund.

Ashworld is an amazing game but It keeps crashing on our IPhone 6s every few minutes please fix!!! Thank you!

Unfortunately Im unable to find out whether or not we enjoy this game, since its proven impossible for us to get more than 5 minutes in without a crash resulting in our having to start all over. Frustrating for a featured game on the App Store to be so unstable. Looking forward to the devs working on this…

Our screen is so small that we cant press the buttons in the inventory to back out.

Pre-face: we will update this once the issues are resolved. Awesome game so far, we first learned of this game through YouTube and was estatic to see an IPad release. Its an awesome Mad Max style 2D RPG. Totally our type of game… But 5 minutes into the game and we’ve already found a bug causing our game to crash every time. The second tier loot skill with the bullet and a + next to it crashes every time we click on it. We’ve tested this 10 times so far with the same result. We know this is a new release and Im hoping it will be fixed as the game is updated, and when it is we will certainly change our review to better reflect Ashworld.

We have enjoyed playing the game and we havent had as many issues as other reviewers. However, our skill upgrade menu causes our game to crash every time. Im unable to upgrade new skills. Cant figure out a way to get past this glitch.

Overall, VERY impressive. Tons of content and the game is hilarious. But… Theres some issues. First off, the controls are very swimmy. Not too bad if youre just walking, but driving is horrible, and then theres the platforming. All we can say about that is dont attempt platforming if you dont have great controls. For precision, they have to be super precise. Finally, the map button sometimes decides to just not work. Im playing on an iPhone X. Thanks!

When we read the recomendation it got on the app store, it sounded like a fun game A madmax inspired sandbox survival rougelike. What could go wrong. A lot, first, its not fun, when the game opens you start with a car its hard to control, easy to break, and keeps runing out of fule half way to the objective. When you get to the compound, you are given a series of quests, if you enter any of the buildings, you risk being stuck at the botom of them because…. They are either too high up (this is even more anoying because of the infuriatingly bad controlls), or, our favorite, the time we were stuck because there was a locked cabinet at the place we had to jump and every time we tryed to jump it told us the cabinet was locked, because the jump button is the same as the interact buttom. And this was game of the day. We bought it because of the app store recomendation and the atached article where they said how great it was we dont mind bad games. We just dont want them to get 3 paragraphs of priase from apple.

We were enjoying this until we had a mission to destroy a screamer nest early on. The problem is that even after making sure to have our energy boosted as much as we could by eating a Sandworm burger, and a couple energy bars, with full health, and no thirst issues, we get stuck at the bottom section of the mission area after completing the task. Theres no way out and its extremely frustrating. The nearest platform to jump from is on a rotating wheel like thing set at a ridiculous distance from the target platform. Dumb thing to do with such an early message mission. Seriously no combination of bars, burgers, water etc help at all. Really needs some major adjustments, then Id recommend it.

Love the concept and open world. However there are a number of severely limiting issues for small screen (iPhone) devices. 1) Controls can be frustratingly poor and unresponsive / delayed, especially inside buildings. You can mash on the jump button and response is either delayed (making timing movement across moving platforms impossible) or triggers shooting instead. 2) Graphics when inside buildings on an iPhone screen are so blocky that you are unable to see the layout easily (especially in radiated buildings) or distinguish enemies from obstacles. We love retro graphics, but there is a balance that needs to be maintained. 3) Stability of world: approx 17 game days in, all buildings and dungeons disappear. This happened on multiple tries / resets and results in there being NOTHING to interact with. Incredibly frustrating when taken in conjunction with issues 1 & 2.

We would definitely wait for an update. We’ve been in multiple dungeons where the distance between platforms is too far, meaning theres no way to make it back outside. We’ve restarted the game multiple times and still have this issue.

Joystick doesn’t work well, our guy starts running in random directions frequently.

***^#%###}#}}##}###}#}##}}£#£# give us our money back the controls are.

A quick paced open-world game. Its not for the faint of heart, as its got lots of challenging gameplay. Perfect to pick up and play for ten minutes at a time and wont break the bank. Give it a try, you wont regret it.

It’s going to be excellent – as soon as it will run on our iPad! Gets stuck on dialog at your very first stop driving your car to the destination. Works fine in our iPhone 6s Plus, though. We’ll revise our review as soon as iPad is fully compatible.
